I always go in M&S café as the coffee is really good and a reasonable price too. I’ve had sandwiches, cake, and hot foods (not all at once!) I like it in here I’ve never had a problem with the staff or the food as others have suggested. It is usually pretty busy but there is never a problem finding a table when I go, but I usually have a late lunch so perhaps it’s busy earlier?

I visited M&S Bromley/Glades cafe for breakfast with my friend: we had 3 kids sitting at the table, two aged 1 and one aged 3. The kids had crisps and when we were leaving there was crumbs on the floor. I apologised to the waiter who came to clean for the mess and she scolded us saying that it is not acceptable and that we should pick up the stuff on the floor ourselves. I have told her to give me the broom and offered to clean up myself but she declined and still mumbling making us feel uncomfortable, unwelcome and mortified. We thought it was a family friendly cafe but certainly won’t go again.

It was my first visit to the Eastbourne M and S cafe and ordered a filter coffee with cream which was excellent and I also ordered a tuna cheesy toastie to be warmed. This took over 20 minutes to arrive and I honestly thought of just walking out. I should have done bcoz when I tasted it, it was warm, tasted rather sickly and horrible and I just had to leave it. I will never go in there again and I could have used the £7 plus for proper food to cook at home. Marks and spencer please look into what’s going on in your cafe - try tasting the food that’s being served to customers.

The hot food is delicious. The restaurant is packed and absolutely boiling hot regardless of the outside temperature. The staff are lovely and friendly but stressed and tripping over each other. Sadly I avoid now as it is just too hot and busy.

I visited the cafe on Thursday and waited in the queue to pay and to order a coffee. The lady serving was incredibly slow, made no eye contact with me and completely ignored me. Her colleague was calling people who were clearly after me to come forward and pay. The cafe was packed with every female pensioner who lives in Bromley! Nowhere to sit unless you had your mate with you to rush in and save a table. Complete waste of time so I walked out.

Had hoped to be able to meet up with a friend for a chat and cup of tea. The only fruit scone on offer was crushed and not worth paying for. The milk curdled in my friends tea. It was very hot, no windows open or air conditioning, the staff couldn’t have made more noise if they tried. I couldn’t wait to get out.

Love coming to M&S cafe, the food is always beautiful. They’re always very helpful when it comes to heating bottles etc for my child. Estelle (I think her name is, blonde haired young girl) always makes my drinks perfectly! Well done to her. Always beautiful presentation & always is polite.

I rarely go here for the very reason I am submitting this review but out of desperation I went on an average busy Saturday afternoon. Lots of staff and a sensible manager but poorly co-ordinated junior staff. I only had a cold drink but still had to wait a long time because they did not have any glasses ( in a cafe!!) It was busy but it was still an average wait of 15 mins to be served which is unacceptable. Tables stacked with an afternoon worth of crocks. To be fair most of the M&S cafes are poorly run and I think it is the layout and the fact that is it ‘chore’ not ‘core’. This cafe is one of the worst.

As a M&S cardholder, we get coffee vouchers, and so use the cafe regularly. Mixed experiences - sometimes very busy and difficult to find a table; rarely very quiet. Food also mixed experiences - scones usually very crumbly; had a poor breakfast roll recently; otherwise we don't have much experience of the food. Birthday voucher OK only, but not bad for 'free'.

We went for a snack break whilst shopping on a Saturday afternoon As expected, it was really busy. Teas/coffees/ hot chocolates were nice, but the food was slightly limited in range. We decided therefore to get coffee from this Cafe, but pick up food from the M&S foodhall to eat!

Customers obliged to clear tables themselves by heaping used crockery onto other tables. Plenty of staff wandering around facility delivering food to tables but only one person occasionally clearing an odd table. One elderly gent had the nerve to take full tray to counter where coffee was served and was told he couldn’t leave it there. He had to add it to another already crowded table. After about 30 minutes with about 8 tables crowded with used crockery somebody started to help the single clearer. Someone needs to learn about management. A lot of customers walked in and seeing the state walked out without ordering. This was at the peak lunch period when better organisation is essential. We won’t be going there again.

I went today to this cafe to have lunch with a colleague. we decided what we were having and queued to order. When it was out turn, I ordered a jacket potato, and a not very nice counter staff advised they only had one. I ordered it with Chilli and paid for it. We went to the table to wait for our food - most of the tables had not been cleared, so we couldn't sit at the one we wanted next to the window, as it was full of plates. many tables around were the. After a while, the same person that took my order approached out table to let me know there was not chilli - so I had to choose another filling. I walked to the counter to see the other options, and I decided to go for tuna and mayo. I asked if they had it, and they said yes - so I went back to the table. My friend was already eating, so the third time they approached the table to tell me they didn't have tuna, she was almost done with her lunch. I walked back to the counter and looked at the menu panel, trying to decide what to eat. I decided to have fish and chips - the person I asked for this told me he was not sure if I could order because the price was higher, but they eventually agreed. Some minutes later (when my friend was done with her meal), they brought the fish to my table. I am not sure when was that fish cooked, but I guess 1972. The chips were so chewy and the taste of the fish so rancid (not to mentioned the mushy peas, which tasted of old stale oil), that I simple couldn't finish it. My friend tasted too, and she agreed: 'disgusting'. We decided to leave as I didn't have the energy or the stomach to order something else, but on my way out I mentioned it to one of the counter staff. I asked when the fish was cooked, and he said 'today'. I commented that that couldn't be true, as the fish was everything but fresh, and the reply was: i'll let my manager know. So after ordering 3 times, and leaving the place 3 quarters of an hour with an empty stomach, no one apologised or at least offered a refund for a food that I paid and didn't eat. Never coming back to this place.

I have visited the M & S Cafe in Bromley High Street a few times lately and every time the tables were full of dirty crockery and never clean even the ones that are cleared are sticky, the place looks dirty as though the floor hasn’t been washed for weeks, I’m not sure who’s to blame maybe there isn’t enough staff but who ever is in charge needs to get there finger out and do something, for a place to eat it’s disgusting and I certainly expect much more from Marks and Spencer.

I ordered the Salmon Nicoise as shown on menu board at £7. What arrived was a Nicoise salad, but quite a small amount. Leaves, green beans, potatoes and a small amount of egg, all ok if there had been a bit more. The Salmon was about one deserts spoon full, as much as I might give to my cat as a treat.

Went with my partially sighted aunt for a sandwich & tea. We eventually found a table, but had to clear the crockery from the previous user - the table hadn't been cleaned obviously - very busy and noisy there, the staff not particularly polite and I find it odd that they sell sandwiches in store for, say, £2.95 and yet because theyve cut it into 4 they decide it worth £4+ - no plates provided, not worth the money I'd say.

Arranged to meet family for afternoon tea at M&S; Bromley (had very positive previous experiences in the Croydon branch). We were told that afternoon teas were no longer served there so we chose something else to eat. Food was not as hot as it should have been and had very little flavour. Service was poor both at the till and by the waitress. Whilst eating, we saw other people being served afternoon tea- perhaps the assistant could not be bothered to make one up for us?? Felt like complaining but the lethargic, lack lustre atmosphere did not inspire me to do even that.

Tried to buy two bacon bloomers at 9.30 am only to be told that they had " run out of bacon". I asked to see a manager and when I pointed out that the food section was teeming with bacon and it would be a simple job for me to walk over and bring some he informed me that he was not allowed to use the shop supplies and that if he did he would "lose his job". That`s the way to look after your customers? Give me Greggs any time.

We visited here for an afternoon tea. The cafe was understaffed and this compromised the service. Sandwiches were lovely and fresh however we had to wait a long time for our food to discover they had run out of strawberry jam for the scones. Stopped in here for a business breakfast which was good. Staff very friendly obviously know the regulars well but I had a job finding a table that hadn't been cleaned since the last occupants left. Well, it's a supermarket cafe, very clean, very busy, limited selection of very good hot drinks and food, mostly used by people who need a sit down when shopping. A bit crowded, full of babies and children, grandmas, nannies, people recovering from the priced currently charged, tables cleared regularly, very close to toilets, near the home section. Very fast service, they have a food servary seperate, and a sort of tea and coffee and cash till gateway service.

A bit of hit and miss, good if you are in a hurry. There are two cafes now, the downstairs one is brilliant (if you find a place to seat); look out for the stake sandwiches (yum!). The upstairs one feels like it belongs to another era, of solid shoes and suits that would last you for 10 years, a favourite with the blue rinse brigade. Nothing wrong with it per se, the menu is unadventurous and merely adequate.

The Bromley M&S; is of average size, but the cafe is not that big. As it is popular it means it is usually crowded and busy, but nonetheless the snacks and drinks are pretty good. We just wanted a cup of tea and a snack at the end of a day's shopping. The cafe was almost empty but although I was the only one waiting at the cashiers desk, I had to wait while the cashier finished chatting to a colleague. Nearly all the tables were piled high with dirty crockery and the floor was littered with paper napkins and wrappers. The two staff members who had been talking in the corner finally started clearing the debris as we left half an hour later. Not up to the M&S; brand image and not what you'd expect for £9.00 for two cups of tea, a sandwich and a biscuit.
