This place is a disgrace filthy and overpriced Waited for ages drinks slopped all over tray when delivered. No used plates etc cleared away see photo

When did M and S decide to go bottom of market ???? Which they clearly have judging by this filthy, shambolic mess. First, you have to use confusing and dirty touch screens to order ( wash your hands after ), then you have to try and find a table that’s been cleared, good luck with that, we saw tables not cleared for the whole hour we were there, with customers having to pile up dirty stuff onto to clear a table for themselves !!! Seriously ??? Then you wait, and wait, and wait. Eventually, your cake arrives on - guess what ? — a dirty plate !!! 10 minutes later, your luke warm coffee arrives. Right, M and S, enough is enough. Close this embarrassment, remove the utterly failed touch screens and go back to how it was, the people of Camberley now see this as a running joke. Is this how you want your brand to be perceived ? As a dirty, run down mess ? I doubt it.

The server was very slow, I had to wait for over 35 minutes for a cup of coffee. To add insult to injury when it finally arrived it was stone cold !

Is this a new ordering system today or just not working? Still awaiting coffees and water ordered 40 mins ago- our table wasn’t cleared despite asking twice, had to do it ourselves. Most of the gluten free options were unavailable. The lady clearing the table was also rude because she had to get past our small pram. There are about 15 people queuing for refunds and there are a whole host of very grumpy customers. This is worse than a Macdonalds experience- M and S what are you doing to your brand? Shocking

I'm not sure what is happening here. Why fix something that wasn't broken, there seems to be a new ordering system that clearly isn't working. Waited 35 minutes for 3 coffee's. I felt very sorry for the staff who were getting a lot of abuse from most of the customers, I witnessed this as I went to the counter to see if I had made a mistake with my ordering. They were clearly overwhelmed! Just not their fault! Such a shame

The cafe was full of dirty tables when we arrived - we counted over 20 tables with dirty plates and only 3 clean to sit on. Cake served was half a slice as the middle had clearly broken away. Drinks had waited so long to be brought to us that the cappuccino foam had disappeared. All staff lacked a sense of urgency - all would return to the kitchen after dropping off an order with an empty tray. Really disappointing as we have always enjoyed M&S but the service and value have decreased in recent months.

Horrible experience, never to be repeated. I didn't particularly like the electronic ordering service, but it worked OK. I wasn't that impressed with the menu, I would have liked a salad, but the only salads on offer were weird and pretentious. I ordered a 3 (or 5?) bean jacket potato and tea. The jacket potato came on a plate that was so small it was difficult to eat off and it was accompanied by a small pile of light green, horribly translucent sludge that, I suppose, was some form of avocado but resembled nothing so much as frogspawn and was completely tasteless. After my first taste, I left that on the plate. The tea came at a different time and I suspect it had not been made with boiling water. It was also accompanied by a girl who asked me how many sweeteners I would like and handed me two and departed. Luckily I had my own sweeteners with me as I could have a second cup of tea out of the pot and would have had to ask for more. As I finished my tea, I was surrounded by tables that had not been cleared for half an hour or more. I was totally shocked that this is what M&S have sunk to. Below McDonalds standard, but at least McDonald's is cheap. I definitely won't be eating there again.

Oh my goodness! We will not be going there again now they’ve changed the system. Our drinks took over 20 minutes and then went to the wrong table, obviously cold by now. Usually we would have a sandwich but looking at a picture on a screen is no compensation for seeing and choosing what you want to order so we put that on hold. Very very very disappointing.

Brought my friend to M&S cafe today as I have been many times, very disappointed with the menu that certain items on the breakfast menu was out of stock ! When myself & friend sat down after ordering we were brought our breakfast by a young man who didn't use any customer service, just placed our food down on the table with not speaking to any of us at all , he heard me aay any sauce? He then offered sauce. Whilst waiting for our drinks, we had already eaten our food and still waiting I noticed our drinks were still up on the counter with a few other order's of drinks, I said to the woman behind the counter who looked stressed that we have been waiting for our drinks will I be ok to take them as other customers also took there tray of drinks, shambles comes to mind & whilst the assistants were clearing the tables lots of crockery were being dropped inside the restaurant and behind the counter! Very disappointed with my visit today , really has put me off coming here for a while!!

Absolutely shambolic! Collected the coffees myself after 25 mins which were lukewarm. Dreadfully slow service (30 mins for a sandwich) also told after 30 mins that one of our items wasn’t available! Ended up with a partial refund and left. There were so many other people in the same position and complaining. The new system is awful, they can’t cope. I Will not be returning.

Wow, just wow. Remember motorway service station cafes in the 90’s ? Crowded, chaotic and poor service ? Want to experience that again ? Then welcome to M and S cafe !! First, you queue for slow, dirty touch screens, then pick up a sticky buzzer to an uncleaned table, followed by a 20 minute wait for your coffee. I asked the manager what the issue is only to be told that they can’t get staff since Brexit. So apparently it’s democracies fault ? Avoid.

We had to clean our own table because it was dirty. Out of 4 items ordered one arrived. Then one more. Finished food before drinks arrived. It was a complete shambles. I felt sorry for the staff. The drinks and cakes side was overwhelmed with orders. Lots of tables packed in closely together. It wasn’t a nice experience at all and I won’t be going back.

My daughter & I popped in for breakfast. Used the machine to select & pay for our order then sat down. Don’t understand how people who are not able to use machine order as no staff around to help. I ordered beans on toast as most items had been taken off the menu. My food turned up, no cutlery but that was soon rectified, in the next 1/2 hour my daughter went to counter twice to ask for our drinks (bottles of juice) & her croissant!!!!! No apology for the wait, just dumped on the table. Standards have definitely dropped in there. Won’t be going back

Nothing wrong with the food, just everything else - Always food on the floor that needs sweeping up - our order arrives piece meal. Today the toasted tea cake arrived, drinks 5 mins later…why can’t they come together?!?! - only allowed 1 thin paper napkin, no teaspoon with the tea/coffee (ever). Sugar is taken away in case you ‘abuse it’ I assume, so if there’s enough tea in your pot for another cup, you won’t have any sugar. - an iced bun arrives in a plastic wrapper, no butter, no knife. - there’s a member of staff constantly pushing a huge industrial trolley around and removing things from tables…asking what you’ve finished with or just picking up things she THINKS you’ve finished with - poor ambience, terrible lighting It’s like a motorway service station…AWFUL Come on M&S, surely you can do MUCH better than this!!!!

Tills now automated and has lost the personal customer experience at the till. Coffee and tea eventually came, tea stewed and coffee cold. It’s now like a bad McDonalds experience. Lost the quality for which we used to enjoy.

Contrary to what other have said our experience was very good indeed. The ordering process was smooth through the new touch screens The table we wanted was cleared very quickly and food arrived very quickly. The dishes we had - fish n chips, jacket potato and veg toastie were very good The tea was well like tea! All this for less than 30 quid. Not sure what more is expected at these places. We loved it and would highly recommend it. Going to the place since 2008 and have seen it change quite a lot; this evolution is also very good indeed.

We arrived at M&S Meadows restaurant for lunch, 12th February, and were confronted by touch screens which we managed to work. We couldn't find all day breakfasts or eggs benedict (our favourites). When asking a member of staff apparently these are taken off the menu at 12 noon. We didn't like the choice of what was left on the menu so left to try Tesco's restaurant next door. It was perfect there, all day breakfast that was delicious and very good service provided too. Unfortunately that is where we will be eating in future, Tesco not M&S. So very disappointed with the new look M&S restaurant and will not be returning.

Considering the targeted audience of M&S is of the older generation, it makes no sense at all to have switched to self serve screens. I use to enjoy the selection of cakes on display, trying new treats I would have previously not. The atmosphere was friendly and staff engaging. I am 32 years old and even I had to try work out how to suss out the new screens and system. The cafe is nice enough but I noticed it was a lot darker. I really feel you’ve just disengaged from your targeted audience and lost custom as a result.

We thought we had arrived at the service station Solstice Park Amesbury, on our way to Clarks Village in Somerset. Queueing for a McDonalds's bacon butty and a coffee driving to the village. Marks and Spencer what are you doing? It was bad enough before but now horrendous! Your clientele deserve better, so much more than you are now offering. Like sheep we stand to order a coffee, or food. The sugar, in a pot, brought to the table with our drinks, 'take what you want - no I cannot leave it' as we suggested. As if we are rationed. We are of the age when we went through rationing, we remember it well. As for the hot chocolate £3.45, absolutely awful, a muddy looking watery tasting , disgusting 'drink' was served to me. I did return it and refused a replacement, my morning had been ruined, having looked forward to the usual ambience of a break in the cafe there. A Cadbury sachet of hot chocolate is 40p, superb, compared to the drink served to me. Progress this is not. The staff in the store are amazing and I expect in the cafe, not that we had the chance to meet them.

I suppose that updating the ordering process so it is a touch screen menu on entering is, in principle, an ok idea. However, the reality is somewhat different and after waiting 30 minutes for a tea and coffee (and it still hadn’t arrived), we - along with a few others- had lost the will to live and decided to cash in our chips and quit. The lesson here is: if you’re going to go hi-tech make sure the staff and the system will support it. On today’s evidence M&S have got a lot of wrinkles to iron out. We won’t be rushing back!

M and S The Meadows, Sandhurst. Terrible atmosphere, hardly any natural light and no windows you can see through. Coffee is awful, so weak just tastes of milky warm water. We complained but it was little better. Bacon overcooked and the roll dry and tasteless. Wasted nearly 20 pounds.

We waited to be served as they had only 2 tills open at peak lunchtime hours. They had run out of quiet a few choices, so we had to decide quickly having queued for so long. We had fish fingers in sourdough roll with rocket and tartar sauce. Too much sauce it’s was wet and mushy. The waitress was slow we soon realised why the queue had taken so long. The menu lists calories but it’s typed so small on the board above the tills you can’t read it. It was not a pleasurable experience.

Very busy and was told there was a 35 minute wait for food so I got a meal deal sandwich and had a coffee with it. Three self-service screens out of order on a Saturday! The staff were putting the round alerts for food orders next to non-working screens!🙄 Coffee was nice when it arrived. No healthy milk options like oat or soya, and only semi-skimmed milk listed. Maybe it is better on weekdays but not recommended for Saturdays if today was typical of what it is like.

I love coming to this café, the staff are always amazing and smiley and their memory is on point! The food is always fresh and tastes amazing! The coffee is always refreshing and the cakes are to die for! I always without a doubt have a very pleasant experience whenever I visit! Which is why I return! I recommend the Valerie club sandwich and the chocolate gateau! So yummy!

I have visited Bracknell for long time and saw this shop closed . Very nice place and lovely atmosphere but sadly managed poorly. No surprised its been permanently closed.

Good food, not rushed, friendly staff. The haddock was spot on as was the ribeye. A very pleasant and relaxed Saturday afternoon. Good parking.
