Visited on Monday and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. A new staff member, who had long brown hair, served our food with a friendly attitude and great customer service. At first, I didn’t realise she was part of the team as she wasn’t in uniform, but her professionalism and attentiveness made a great impression. A lovely addition to the team! Will definitely be back.

Arrived for afternoons tea 2pm ,very surprised only cups ,No Saucers ,had to carry our own tea to table and wait for food .Food was delicious and presented nicely but it arrived 10 mins later .We had practically finished the tea .Why can the staff not bring tea over with the food ?I know it’s a cafe but have some etiquette,I think everyone associates afternoon tea is a cup and saucer must that’s part of the experience

Food not available, as usual. Coffee luke warm as left on the side while I was choosing something else, as items not available. Dirty cutlery, poorly trained (if trained at all) staff. Will not be back.

Unsure why people are acting like this is a 5 star hotel restaurant - it’s a cafe - why would a customer think staff should suggest maybe bread with soup or “is that all for you?” We are grown-ups so can decide what we want as we queue, not expect a basic-pay person to “help with choice”!! I actually like the staff immensely here - the food is fine & maybe I’m lucky it’s always hot? But if it wasn’t I’d politely say Sorry but this is a bit cold….. Why criticise on a website when you can politely request a hot dish “please”!

Ordered the full breakfast with a latte. The latte was quite nice and the food arrived after about 10 minutes. It looked impressive and the sausage and bacon was good but the eggs, poached, were stone cold. This pretty much brought the whole shebang down a few pegs. I would probably not bother going back.

Last week I came at M&S/Kingston and I stopped at caffe there for a quick lunch (have to point it was delicious). Then I left and after 45min ish I noticed that I forgot my cross bag (yes, I got this - after carrying some extra bags, coat…). Thanks to a sweet girl/employe who found it and save for me. My huge THANK YOU again for save my day 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Only ordered two toasties and two coffees, chased order once, gave up after 30 minutes and cancelled order. Realised afterwards had only been refunded for the food not the coffee. Expensive lesson in where not to eat in Kingston-on-Thames

When ordering food in cafe, staff at check-out did not used few words to communicate which came across very rude, instead staring at you as if you should know what they wanted from you. Did not ask if I'd like bread with my soup, did not ask if I wanted a drink with my order or 'anything else I can get for you'. Very uncomfortable, very poor service. Food was good once it arrived though.

My mother and I decided to have lunch in M & S Kingston on Monday, we wanted to sit at a larger table with padded bench seats and chose the only one remaining. The table was dirty and littered with used crockery and cutlery, we opted to sit there thinking it would soon be cleared. My mother (85) tidied the previous customers dishes onto a tray while I went to order food and drinks. I returned to find the table still dirty and uncleared. The cafe was very quiet with plenty of available staff but no sign of anyone checking tables. Our food arrived promptly, I had ordered a hot dish which was cold. The waitress who delivered our food left without clearing the previous customers dishes and didn’t return, they were still there when we left. Considering there were only a handful of customers present and plenty of staff this really is particularly shoddy. The food could have been really good if it hadn’t arrived stone cold. We should have done what we’d originally intended and gone to Pret! Won’t be returning.

The place is disgusting, tatty, the crockery was dirty and I am surprised it is allowed to stay open. We used to come every time we came to Kingston, we will not return.

Although some food hasn't arrived it was recognised and sorted with a smile on the face of the amazing Uria (I couldn't tell if this is how her name was spelt from the badge) and she was so amazing throughout our stay. Smiles always go a long way for me. You could misplace my whole order but if you come with a smile and kindness it makes it all better. Also amazing food. We will be back again for sure.

The decor in here is below average and the coffee is about the same. Toasted ham and cheese is ok. Staff are average and don't seem to have any interest in the job. Not somewhere I would go again unless the rest of Kingston was closed. M&S up your game!

The restaurant in Kingston's Marks & Sparks - in the pedestrianised Clarence Street in the heart of the town centre - is oddly impersonal, like a large airport cafe or a factory canteen. But the food is cheap and cheerful, and there's enough room so that it never gets really crowded. The M&S Cafe is up on the first floor (there's a lift which emerges close to the entrance). It reminded me a bit of those vast cafeteria areas on cross-channel ferries - where 200 people suddenly descend, wanting a quick cooked breakfast. But this is a notch above that. At teatime, for instance, there are some very alluring cakes to choose from. Being 'above the shop' means it's easy to replenish supplies from the M&S foodhall below. There are plenty of deals. A chicken burger is £5.50, the coffee is good quality and from Brazil, and diners get access to free wifi. But there's no escaping that 'departure lounge' feel.

Asked my bf to find us a table whilst I went to order. As I'm ordering, a male coworker comes over to report him to the lady serving me. At worst, he had an outside drink (that was almost finished) and a white bag (tied up) with food I made him. I don't want to call it racial profiling (for reference, we're both Asian so we stood out a bit amongst the regulars) but it was literally on sight, we'd been there for a minute tops. If he was sitting there eating it I'd get it, but he wasn't. It's not like they were gonna lose any business, I was actively ordering stuff. It just soured my mood so we didnt end up staying long. Just unproffessional tbh.

Brilliant pub experience! The streets were wet, so we called in looking for a nice drink... really friendly faces on the bar .We had some food, which was just what we needed. I'm not sure who Nick is, but he makes a really nice chilli! Really friendly. Thanks to the nice bar staff. Spot on. Thank you.
