M&S in Solihull

Service was awful. The new machines for ordering are supposed to speed things up but the system just doesn’t work. Ordered a toastie cold drink and cake. Toastie came in about 10mins which was cold. 30 mins later still waiting for drink and cake, when approached desk it wasn’t even on a tray. The organisation really needs to be reviewed.

We visited the M&S cafe at Shirley today. The staff were good and the service was quick. My husband had an email about a new menu so we decided to give it a try. On the menu was listed Magic Coffee. It was priced £3.10 which is the same price as a normal size latte. We were very disappointed as the only Magic thing about it was the fact that half of seemed to have disappeared by the time we were served it in glasses from a dolls house!!!

We really like M&S food, we do buy quite a lot from there. I went and bought 8 reindeer steamed buns because they looked very scrumptious indeed. They cost £7.50 I thought well, its not just any old food it's M&S food they looked gorgeous and we couldn't wait to try them. I have to say they were hard and very little filling in side. I put mango sauce just to add flavour not very good at all and definitely not worth the money. Sorry to give a poor review. Maybe a taste test for your customers would be good. I bought other Christmas food and it's very nice.

What a shame, coffee now in tiny cups bread roll now extra with soup, no saucers , short staffed. Come on M &S your USP is quality !....

I have tried several times to get a good cup of coffee here but it’s always luke warm and doesn’t taste good either. I don’t like the new system of ordering on a screen either.

had the weirdest tasting capuchino coffee in Marks today felt nauseous after Won't be going back this was verified as I noticed some else haddrunk about half an inch of their coffee and left it. Was it old out of date stock.

Visited M and S cafe in Solihull today..how disappointing. There was no ambience..tatty table and chairs scruffy,decor poor and the chicken salad sandwiches were awful, not to mention the 25 min wait to get a coffee and sandwich Wont be visiting there again!!

Although they were very busy with eat out to help out, the staff were fantastic, pleasant and obliging. They did some toast for my daughter even though the breakfast menu had finished. The tables were spaced out, cleaned and disinfected, and the food was good too. Will come back in future, well done.

Called at the cafe t treat a friend for her birthday. Very busy, but got a table and ordered food, some of the menu not available, so chose a different meal. Curry and rice with poppadoms. Meal duly arrived, luke warm, heat varied on different parts of the bowl, our friends meal was the same, irregular heat throughout the meal. poppadoms arrived after the curry was done with. Rather disappointed. However they were busy and had a queue of people at the counter, however the food should still have been served hot, obviously no temperature prob used. On the plus side, their slices of cake were fabulous

I was purchasing items for xmas and met a lovely sales assistant called Sunita Leila who could not have been more helpful if she tried. we had a chat, she helped me pick out items, for xmas and then we processed to the till, where everything was folded nicely and packaged up for me. out of 10 I would give her a score of 10 plus. she was so helpful and could not do enough for you. an outstanding person. so nice to meet such a wonderful lady. thank you. pat

I was buying some clothes the other day and was served by a man called Dean he was great really friendly and just lovely customer service what a star!!!

When shopping in Marks and Spencer we always have coffee in the Coffee shop the coffee is very good the Staff are always very nice and pleasant a good place to relax well worth a visit

I enjoy shopping at this M&S store as the car park is above the store. As you walk out of the store you can walk straight into Mell Square which have plenty of shops and a 2 minute walk into Touchwood Shopping Centre.

After shopping called in for coffee, busy at the time but queue not good bad but it took an absolute age. Lady on the counter was single handed and took the order, then the money followed by making the coffee and chocolate Nice drinks but very slow service and probably won't return

You can never go far wrong with M&S food, be it in their restaurant or food hall. The cafe here is fairly high up, so good views over part of Solihull town and the service is decent, tables well spaced out and a fair size. About 3/ 4 times a year, they have wine tasting evenings held in here, which are excellent, both in enjoyment, but also value for money.

Strange layout, very bland decor, little choice of foods. When you concider M&S sell such great food why is the cafe so average.

M&S eatery is just the place for a quick bite or a drink but nothing more. It is convenient if you are shopping.

Painfully slow at the counter, staff under-trained and confused, though doing their best. Had to fetch my own bacon roll from the kitchen, as the 'automated' order system failed, by which time it was half cold. The guy in the kitchen was rude and surly, declined to apologise. Someone who could have been a supervisor came past, wiping down table tops (where food goes) with the same cloth he was using to wipe down chair seats (where customers' bums go), and was a bit short when I queried that. Overall, a shambles, and not a pleasant experience at all. Why would we want to spend money again in a place like this? We won't be back.

Great place for coffee and cake, light lunch or afternoon tea. Most - if not all?- food comes from the M&S; food catalogue. Self-service mainly, with hot dishes served by cheerful staff. It can get very busy, especially over lunch period.

this review relates to the cafe in M&S; simply food on the sears retail park, but I suspect that they are all the same - toasted only on one side. the result being a piece of soggy wet bread on the underside, most un appetising, I had the cheese & mushroom or should I say very little cheese and only about half a small mushroom, i was very disappointed as I am a huge fan of M&S; food. needless to say I will not eat there again.

This place gets worse, the tables are absolutely disgusting Full of dirty crocks. Not wiped properly and when they are the staff just wipe the crumbs onto the chairs It's about time this place got some decent staff

We thought we'd have a quick cheap lunch but the prices have rocketed £4.50 for a toasted sandwich! Ended up have kids pizza which was nice and other members of the family had the crayfish sale which they said was extremely delicious well it should be at nearly £6.00. Long queue to get served for drinks!

It may seem strange to review a cafe within a major retailer but I owe them this one. Some years ago in a local paper review of cafe's in Solihull I cheekily branded this 'The Cafe that time forgot' so I need to set the record straight.
