As my wife and myself arrived in the cafe we where greeted by Sarah the new owner who was very helpful in helping us choose from their menu, the food that came was fantastic cooked by the resident chef Ian, what followed was so surprising both my self and my wife where nearly in tears, Sarah had sent out for a bouquet of flowers for Jane, after just coming out of hospital, which was just fantastic Thank you to Sarah you are one in a million we wish you the very best Christmas for you and your family 👪 all our love and best wishes from us to you 😊 😀 ❤ xxxxx

Lovely family friendly cafe on Jennyfields. Play area for the kids inside with toys and games for them to enjoy. Beautiful coffees and teas made with care and taste beautiful. Food is beautiful. 3 years old today and going from strength to strength. Ate from the birthday menu today and tried a giant Yorkshire pudding full English. Sounds bizarre but it works so well. Wife had a local butchers steak burger which was beautiful. Very friendly staff and good fair prices. A must visit in Harrogate area and don't be put off by the fact it's not town centre. Tons of free parking outside.

While the Smith family where away, the staff put on a performance like no other, the cafe was( most times full) to spilling point, the atmosphere was booming, there where plenty of laughs to be had, but even with so many people arriving and leaving the staff coped really well under pressure, like a well oiled cog Mrs smith you have got a great team of people with whom you would agree all deserve that extra cup of tea, god bless all who eat/drink in there

I’ve been here a couple of times and the food is really lovely, staff are friendly and brilliant for young children. The toy corner was larger than I expected and plenty to keep younger children entertained. Plenty of high chairs available. Overall, an excellent place to eat with children and it’s reasonably priced too. On one occasion, I ordered my little boy the sausages, Yorkshire puddings etc and it came as a giant Yorkshire pudding filled with everything else. On another occasion, I ordered the same meal for him but it was a small Yorkshire pudding on the side and a few other differences between the first time we ordered it. Still tasted lovely on both occasions.

This cafe is a brilliant addition to the Jennyfields community. It is a hub of the estate and does a really good job of welcoming and serving their customers. We love going in for a coffee, breakfast or lunch - and use any excuse to visit! Lovely staff and tasty food, with good portion sizes!

We live locally so visit Mrs Smith’s regularly with our grandchildren - who for some unknown reason refer to this as the “Peppa Pig Cafe”! There are lots of toys for the children to play with and the service is friendly, serving a good variety of fresh, local food. Warmly recommended if you are in the area!

I visited here with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law as they recommended it. The decor was cute and quirky and the staff were friendly. The food was delicious and the hot chocolate was particularly wonderful. Will be going back again!

I'm lucky enough to live locally to this lovely cafe and rest assured it's a hidden gem. Family friendly does not mean they've detracted from quality. The food is superb and predominately locally sauce and home made bread to boot. Yes they may have days where they are snowed under so perhaps might not be dancing and laughing at the moment when you enter...And yes there maybe a wait for food at busy times. However...remember this is a relatively new, small family run establishment, with a small dedicated team...doing their very best. They are open to suggestions and will do their very best to accommodate your requests. Food is mainly cooked to order and I'd rather wait for fresh than be served in 5 minutes with "plastic" food. An extremely good choice of food and the aim on healthy eating on many items so will accommodate those watching their weight. Equally all food is delicious for those not so conscious and a stunning array of homemade cakes to choose from too. They also offer a superb slimming world style breakfast, amongst other things...which is beautiful and syn free. Recently they have added a slimming world friendly take away menu for the summer. Meals freshly prepared and either completely syn free or so negliable its not countable. Ive had curry, kebabs, chiken kiev, enchiladas, kfc and many others. All syn free and slimming world friendly. (They are not affiliated by sw..but Mrs Smith follows the plan herself). This is a wonderful idea and one I sincerely hope they continue after Summer too. They have a lovely small, but very well catered children's area and host many parties for all ages requiring a smaller more intimate environment. As well as this they hold different themed activities and groups for children and adults ad hoc, and well thought out. My advice is give them a try a couple of times. Enjoy the rest and you will love the food. Plenty of parking and on a bus route too. Perfect for families as few places (if any in this area) offer what's here in terms of play area with plenty to do and no nasty stares if they get a little loud... dont spoil it for other people though. They are not a creche and other people without children like to relax too. My advice

My wife and I dropped in for a coffee and snacks on our way to town. What an atmosphere! No welcome, just cool stares! Why does a cafe think these days that all they have to do is provide food, when the overall friendly service should just as important as good food quality. We will not be going back as there are many other cafes around which have much better overall offering.

We had heard great things from friends so decided to make a detour which proved well worth it. Mrs Smith is a lovely person with a great sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble and the food was great, generous helpings and very tasty. The cakes looked to tempting and tasted as good as they looked Highly recommended

Popped in to this place with the wife on a visit up North, what a cracking little find. Lovely decor, welcoming atmosphere and the cherry on top, was the wife loved the place (she doesn't like many). She has a nut allergy, we informed the staff and a helpful and friendly lady popped over to discuss our requirements. In no time flat we were presented with a delicious meal and a freshly brewed coffee to wash it all down with. Smashing place.

I love cake. Mrs Smith's sells some of the most amazing cake I have ever experienced. Whether you need somewhere quiet to work or have kids with you, the cafe is really well designed for everyone. There's a children's play space discreetly tucked out of the way, so your children can play safely and happily while you eat cake. Or lunch. Or a bacon butty. And when you are without children you can enjoy cake, and a really fabulous coffee (Rountons, a local roaster) without feeling like you are in a cafe full of other people's kids. There aren't many cafes that achieve both child friendly and grown up friendly. But Mrs Smith's really really does. And did I mention the cake? It's amazing. And there's icecream too... It's like a tiny bit of paradise, a great place to enjoy a catch up with friends and relax.

I've been to Mrs Smith's cafe a few times now with family and friends. The food and drink have been consistently delicious and very reasonably priced and the staff are really patient with the children..... it is a nice place for busy mums to relax over coffee (& cake!) whilst the kids enjoy playing in the toy corner. Thank you Mrs Smiths!

As we were going to a wedding early afternoon we decided we needed a good breakfast to set us up for the day - Mrs Smith did not let us down. Full English consisted of sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans & tomato plus toast (very nice gluten free for me). All ingredients were of very good quality. My only comment is that the toast came already buttered, I prefer mine dry with breakfast but next time I will remember to ask for it without butter and there will certainly be a next time.

Visited on a sunny Saturday lunch. Food was excellent. Fresh crab soup and warm baked bread was brilliant. Fish pie superb and Baked Alaska to finish rounded it off so well. Sat in garden for coffee. So calm and welcoming. Location, food choice and service was very professional, personal and friendly.. Will definitely make a return visit even at 150 mile round trip from Sunderland. Superb all round

Best afternoon tea about! Mama Doreen’s never disappoints, the food is beautiful as is the fizz! The staff are friendly, attentive and extremely patient (when customers are being outright rude and difficult). Big shout out to Elliot who was amazing, thank you for making my mums birthday so special! Can’t wait to come back soon xxx

Great coffee & food at this lovely independent cafe, situated near to the stray and to town on Cold Bath Road. It’s so friendly and has a really welcoming atmosphere (even if, like me, you don’t cycle!) There are so many cafes to choose from in Harrogate, but this is my favourite - hands down!
