3rd time I have visited. Service and food has been excellent each time. Very extensive menu with all day breakfast options. Different from other places in that breakfasts can be ordered with sourdough toast.

I had my baby shower at Mrs Bridges over the weekend & I could not reccomend them any higher. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the day was special and made us feel like no request was too big. They ensured everyone was well looked after, catered for all dietary requirements, rearranged the room to fit all the guests and just in general an amazing service. We had the entire top floor for a private party & had a member of staff with us at all times to ensure we had plenty of fresh teas, coffees and food - not sure on her name but she was amazing so a massive thankyou to her! Overall, would highly recommend, they were very fairly priced and the quality of the food was amazing & will definitely be using them for functions in the future!

Absolutely lovely afternoon tea! It’s the law that I have to take my elderly mum for an afternoon tea when we do the Christmas shopping and todays was one of the best we have had! We had to ask for a box to take some cakes home as we couldn’t finish them. Bread and scones were really fresh. Incredible value for money - could have charged much more!

Selected the afternoon tea. To help out anyone who had the same experience as me - don't bother going to the website as it looks like it hasn't been updated for years! The afternoon tea is advertised as £9.50 on the website but we paid £12.50 pp and nothing is listed so you have no idea what you are getting! We went and asked first. We were met by a lady who was quite accommodating - said we could have any sandwich filling we wanted - even if it wasn't listed. This was quite good though she seemed quite miserable saying it! For the £12,50 afternoon tea each person gets: 4 small sandwiches (filling of your choice), 2 cakes (you cannot choose and they do not tell you what you will get so be mindful of this if you are fussy), one macaron and one scone with cream and jam. You can have tea or if you choose another drink, you have to pay the difference. Waitress was lovely and it was a beautiful little tearoom - very squashed though so I would advise you go early! Hope the breakdown helps as you can't find this information anywhere.

This is a lovely hidden gem in The Lanes in Leicester, a small area full of independent shops and cafes and near the popular St Martin's Square. Plenty of seating both inside, and outside in a quiet courtyard. I had the Welsh rarebit with chutney and cole slaw, which was wonderful and a very reasonable price (I had two slices at £8 but a single slice option is available for a lighter lunch, while my partner had jacket potato. Great food and service, friendly, good price, and delicious.

Delicious breakfasts - meaty and veggie. Great service, accommodated requests and just a lovely atmosphere for a relaxed breakfast out with older family members. Food was hot, generously portioned and super tasty. Only grumble would be tea in pot was bit weak even after a good brew time but that’s more a preference.

Afternoon Tea for Mother's Day we were seated upstairs, it was busy and you're cramped in or squeezing past other diners. Tables are small and not enough space for everyone's crockery/cutlery let alone the platter they bring your food out on. Although the food was nice and the cakes moist, the teapot was chipped, tea cup & saucer was dirty and staff didn't seem that interested in us! If you're a large person, I'd think twice about trying to use the toilet!!

I had breakfast in three different places on my recent visit to Leicester, and this one fell way below the other two. I can see from the great reviews here that maybe I was unlucky--we can all have a bad moment. Though there was hardly anyone in, it was difficult to get attention, and then the food took a very long time to come. My waiter was a tall, awkward-seeming young lad who was distant and difficult to communicate with. I had the Eggs Royale with bacon, but the bacon was undercooked---and undercooked bacon is chewy and unpleasant, so that spoilt it for me.

My daughter-in-laws sister (don't ask me what relation she is to me, it gets too hard beyond cousins!) recommended Mrs Bridges for lunch when I was in Leicester meeting up with my son recently. I have to say I think I have just had the best sandwich of my life. I had the ham and cheese sandwich with onion marmalade. I liked that there was a choice of bread. Some places just have the really hard crusty stuff which might be fashionable but I have a jaw problem and can only eat fairly soft stuff. The choice was excellent. The staff were friendly and it was nice we could see the preparation area. If you want nice, reasonably priced food which is really good quality then please visit here.I have chosen the 'cheap eats' for this review but don't be put off. This is a place that offers good value for money for lovely quality food, reasonably priced and affordable.

The brunches that they serve are superb - top notch. Really recommend the caspian - it has the right amount of sweet and salty touch to it. Using a belgian waffle in a savoury setting was really amazing. The cream tea is excellent as well - the scones are just perfect. However, the afternoon tea is not something I would go for again. Basically they do not serve finger sandwiches but just one huge sandwich, which was a downer as I just wanted to have different finger sandwiches. And the assorted cakes were not the ones usually found in afternoon teas. However, as to the rest, everything is just right- the environment, the service and the rest of the food - as well as its location, which is found right in the centre of Leicester.

In the world of diversity, so not seeming front door located in a charming street where there is tearooms Mrs. Bridges. And in the middle of what opportunities to implement. Extensive menu. Pleasant looking, overworked staff who vigorously moves from angle to angle. What we do in Mrs. Bridges we do not like ... We love it. My golden thoughts always come back to me when together with my love of life we eat a meal together. We order two coffees and look for something quickly on the menu. My hunger is curious to land on Eggs Royal with a choice of smoked salmon. The second curiosity I want to satisfy the eye and appetite Beef onion marmalade with stilton cheese. My companion orders Risotto Haddock. The food appears very quickly and for me it is really delicious. On a scale of one to ten. Ten. I ask how it tastes? Renata answers, tasty but too fat for me. I answer that the risotto is topped with olive oil. I heard it. I prefer creamier. (women?). The feast was outstanding. At the end, paying the bill, I only heard ... what delicious desserts were prepared by the service for which we will definitely return. For us, this visit will definitely be remembered. Greetings and recommendations.

We’ve been coming here for years and it’s usually good or very good. I don’t know what happened today. We ordered two sandwiches; one chicken and avocado and the other beef with roasted onion salad and horseradish. We ordered a side of chips and coleslaw. The first beef sandwich had a tiny amount of beef. The chips were cremated, over salted and they had run out of vinegar. They replaced the sandwich, which had beef in bite size pieces (hot!). There was no caremilzed onion, but fried onion, lettuce and no horseradish. The chips were over cooked again.

I came here with some friends last week and we sat outside to eat. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed a Caesar salad while my friend had the sweet chilli chicken sandwich (would recommmend both)! I will definitely be returning :)

We happened upon this little gem by accident, and have been back about 4 times since! Great for gluten free and decaf (of which I am both). Lots of choice, very fresh food and the staff have always been friendly too.

Been here twice now, both times I have received excellent service from really friendly staff! There is an unbelievable amount of choice on the menu and both breakfast and lunch were absolutely delicious (on separate occasions). The food is really quickly prepared and presented beautifully. I would recommend the chocolate torte for a sweet treat! Not only is there plenty of seating inside, there’s an adorable courtyard to the rear which was perfect for a sunny brunch this morning. Very happy with my second visit and will definitely be returning very soon!

I have reviewed this venue favourably before, but I thought I'd pen a follow up given the fact that it's been 3 years since I've been to Leicester. Suffice to say that my positive impressions were reinforced. Indeed, given that it was about 3pm on a Wednesday, we had the bonus of it not being packed, as it was on our first visit.

Ordered the tiramisu via ubereats as really been wanting one for ages. Very disappointed purchase especially as I could only order either 1/2 or the whole cake. The tiramisu was nothing like you would expect it was more like a vanilla cake and very dry, with a layer of chocolate. Not the moist or anything like a tiramisu, very cake like at all. Waste of money and food. Avoid if you are after an actual tiramisu and not some very expensive vanilla cake with a layer of chocolate. Very disappointed wish I had ordered something completely different.

I was looking to have a custom cake made for my sons Spider Man theme birthday party. I had a very detailed design specification that Baker St Cakes followed and executed so well!! Not only did the cake look amazing but it also tasted amazing too!! Very impressed with design, quality and service!! Thank you so much for the beautiful cake, it was the finishing touch to our themed party.

Lovely warm welcome and delicious food, chai latte and hot chocolate, so nice to find such a cosy spot in the heart of the city.
