This is a takeaway review. New Year’s Eve. Great anticipation, greater let down. Lamb tikka karahi bhoona, x 2, 1 x paneer palak, 2 x garlic naan, 6 x popadums with relishes. Seventy pounds. Wow, that’s very steep for a bit of bread, rice, and three curries. If that’s what we’d got. My wife picked it up because we live around the corner. Only two popadums. Imagine that. Between 3, and that’s our favourite part of an Indian meal, the bit we look forward to the most. That’s why we ordered 6. But they, let’s face it, failed, and gave us 2. Then the garlic naan, no taste of garlic whatsoever, must have been plain naan. Now the lamb bhoona, chunks of rock hard unchewable old tasting meat, virtually inedible. See picture for what we threw away. The wife said her paneer palak was alright, nothing special. You live and learn, no more visits to Mr. Singh’s.

If someone I know goes to Glasgow, I will definitely tell them to go to "Mister Singh's India." It is the restaurant with the best service I have ever experienced. We went to a restaurant on the last leg of our trip. Mr. Mark does not receive any service tips and provides the best service. He cares about each and every customer and responds kindly. When I looked it up, Mark even supports Mary's Meals Charity for some of her income for children in need. If I have a chance, I'd like to visit you again :)

We’ve eaten in Mr Singh’s on and off for 30 years; sadly it is not what it once was. I went here on Sunday with 3 others to celebrate a family birthday. I’m really sad to say the standards of food, service and surroundings have declined while the prices have increased dramatically. Dealing with them in order. The food was ok, but only that, onions, chillies and other vegetables were chunky and not cooked down well enough into the sauces. The sauces were reliant on processed pickles and my wife’s dish, the Jalandri was extremely dry. The garlic naan were swamped in butter to the point of butter congealing on the plate beneath the bread. The service was hurried and relentless. We had poppadoms on arrival, the young waitress asked for the plates while my sister in law was still eating, leaving her holding the remains of a poppadom and pickle laden spoon in her hands. It seemed that every 2 minutes a waiter or waitress asked for empty glasses or plates. Surroundings, the place is simply looking old and dirty, the menus had stains and the chairs in serious need of reupholstering. The napkins were cheap paper, first time in Mr Singh’s for me, at these prices at least provide linen napkins. Finally, the price, wow, cafe food at high end (at least for Glasgow) prices. We had four poppadoms to start, cost with a bit of chutney and yoghurt £9.05, really for 4 poppadoms? The mains were c£18, nor problem with that but add in a small bowl of rice £ 5.45 and a garlic naan for £5.75 and you are looking at £30 for a main. It pains me to say we won’t be going back, it’s a failing great institution which is pricing itself out of the market. Oh and when I booked online, I wanted a table for 1800, the only available was 1745, not a biggie but the place was only half full so why no table available for 1800.

I had booked Mister Singh's for my partner's birthday as he has always wanted to go & we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, hands down the best Indian meal we have had, couldn't fault a thing with the food. The service was equally as good, the staff were all friendly, helpful & attentive. I had made a wee note on the booking that it was my partner's birthday in hopes he would get sung to (to get him back for when he has done that to me). What the team at Mister Singh's gave us though was above & beyond that & completely unexpected - it was a lovely surprise for us both. One of the managers had come over to wish him Happy Birthday & provided us with a couple of shots to celebrate, he then got an impressive sparkler in his ice cream along with a lovely photo in a frame. All lovely little touches that put a huge smile on my partner's face. Every member of staff was so kind & friendly. Thank you so much for making my partner's day extra special, we had a lovely time & will definitely be back.

Disappointed at the overall experience. Food was sort of ok, but full fat pricing applies. The environment however has not been updated since the seventies. Filthy carpet, sticky wooden floors, grubby menus, Formica tables, no table covers, paper napkins, watery raita, I could go on, but you get the idea. So many other establishments have upped their game. This place has been left behind by miles.

After spending a long time trying to find an authentic Glasgow curry house, with deep roots, great quality and service Mister Singh's came up as a household name. I was keen to try it and booked it for my wife's birthday. We were seated by the window in cafe style seating. The seating area was clean, the table and such but everything else just looked like it had a layer of grime that has stood the test of time. The original fixture and fittings needing a deep clean and desperate renovation. The prices are not cheap in my opinion. We ordered the poppadum tray and chicken pakora. The 2 poppadums came out with the spicy onion, yoghurt dip and mango chutney. All of which were nice apart from the poppadums. This cost £6.55! The poppadums tasted old and oily. I mentioned this, and they were replaced with fresh poppadums which were better but I could still taste the old oil flavour. Admittedly, I am ocd about a good poppadum, considering how cheap they are, it's often an indicator of how good the food might be. I had chicken pakora starter, which for £8.00 seems expensive for how many you get. The batter was ok, I prefer more flavour and spice in it, but it was fine. It was not hot and fresh from the fryer, like it had been sitting for 5mins before being served and a paltry salad of onions and lettuce. The mayo dip was pleasant. I had the main Chicken Tikka, which came with rice and a side sauce. This was £19, again quite expensive. The chicken came sizzling on a bed of onions, sauce was ok, nicely spiced, chicken Tikka was good. Considering how many other curry houses there are in and around the area, I saw every other place cheaper than here. It was a decent chicken Tikka. For the money being charged, I was expecting something special. Not today. My partner had the ginger chilli bhuna, which was again ok. Chicken was a bit dry, I personally felt the ginger was too strong but some might like it, but it wasn't for me. The naan and rice were ok, I didn't pick up much garlic from the naan, but again, fine but overpriced. We were asked for our picture to be taken whilst we were eating which I found peculiar. After, we were "gifted" a framed photo, in memory of our time here, as a token present! I would spend the money on improvements rather than these gimmicky things. Although not visibly dirty, I found the restaurant desperately needs a deep clean and renovation. The flies were unpleasant, it did not feel clean. I would focus on the food quality and the reason it was so quiet, despite passing at least 6 other restaurants on our way here, each had easily double the amount of customers. I did not find Mister Singh's particularly good quality or value. The service was good, the oil used was old and dirty. You can taste that in the poppadums. It feels like everything is based a hey-day and trying to survive on a reputation from 20-30 years is not viable. Relying on what I guess is wowcher or itison 5* reviews for pakora making classes is not a true reflection on the food. Sadly, my wife's birthday was not overly enjoyable. I have had cheaper, better quality meals in Glasgow. With an abundance of competitors, sadly, I would choose to try somewhere new before returning here. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth it.

We found ourselves in Glasgow with time to kill and hungry on trying 2 other restaurants and being turned away as they were fully booked, we stumbled accross this gem. On entering we were asked if we had a booking as they were extremely busy but told not to worry they would look after us. We were seated very quickly and the staff looked after our every need right down to whom I assume was the owner coming over to chat with us and the rest of the dinners. We were asked if we had tried the family speciality the ambala which we hadn’t so he got us a bowl of it sent out to try. Quality of food in here is on another level everything was so fresh and meat was cooked to perfection and there was no short changing on portion size. The chicken wing starters had so much flavour it was incredible. We had 2 different curry’s plus the ambala and I be honest it was hard to work out which was our favourite but all 3 were head and shoulders above anything we have had before. The food alone would give this place a 5 star review but the service was insane had we not paid for our meal I would have thought we were honoured guests at the family home rather than customers at a restaurant. Right down to one of the gentleman seeing us at the door to wish us a good evening and shake our hands. Price was very fair also for what was an evening to remember. Will I be back hold me back there is a large incredible menu I’ve still to try more of

Came here purely because Ally McCoist goes on about it on TalkSport - and my word what a recommendation! Mr Singh and one of his sons made a point of welcoming me, all the other staff were super friendly and efficient - but the food! My god - I was in Singapore years and years ago and a local driver took me to Little India for a curry from the south which was amazing, and ever since then I’ve always gone for the “Southern Indian” option when I’ve seen it, and I’ve always been slightly disappointed - but not tonight. The flavours took me back to Singapore, best curry I’ve had since then - and the good news is I don’t have to fly half way around the world next time I want one again! Seriously, if you love Indian food and you love great service you have to come here!

Mr Singhs India was the first restaurant we visited in Glasgow and a strong factor in our decision to move here. We have visited several times where have found comfort in their food and of course, a tremendous service. We visited at xmas with my future in laws and while we didn't see the family members the wait staff greeted us in their typical, welcoming manner. We had a great time. Mr Singhs India catered recently for our wedding. I first approached them on my own, clearly quite nervous and sat down with the restaurant manager and his son (I've kept names confidential at this point out of respect, but they know who they are) and discussed important considerations for our guests, namely allergens. Some wedding guests had serious allergies and this was probably the biggest stressor of arranging our own wedding, so you can imagine the pressure I perhaps unfortunately put on Mr Singhs India. Chef was clearly able to accomodate these requests and on the day importantly there were no avoidable accidents. I was already impressed by the standard if food but equally moreso they managed to deliver to quite rigid and strict instruction. The restaurant manager attended on the day with two of his sons who we had met prior, to oversee the day. I was reassured multiple times that they would appear on the floor to ensure our guest satisfaction. Being indian also, I had assumed this meant just talking to my dad, but I was so impressed to see them address not only my dad but my now in law parents too - and furthermore I watched as he addressed every table during the late afternoon. And of course, we were treated to a very non obtrusive hello, best wishes and goodbye. Many of our guests commented on how welcome they were made to feel and how much they enjoyed the food. Watching them address my guests was incredibly comforting and they really elevated the dinner service, we were very proud. I had been forewarned about caterers in other cities about levels of contact, and while at times I did wish for speedier responses (probably a groomzilla effect on my part) I didn't find I had those problems with Mr Singhs India. We kept lines of contact open in email/whatsapp so there was always a point of contact. For our wedding, Mr Singhs India recommended another vendor to arrange for wait staff - who we will review independently. Similarly, they also delivered to a high standard as we watched on from our sweetheart table. On the day, I didn't need to ask them anything and similarly they didn't need to ask anything of us, they just cracked on in their as always pleasant manner. We intend on staying in Glasgow for possibly 5 years but we will be repeat customers at Mr Singhs India. I think they're a real credit to the Glasgow Restaurant industry and they come highly recommended from us.

Being a Rangers fan, have heard Ally McCoist go on about the restaurant on Talk sport.. if only I'd listened sooner. You will not comprehend how amazingly attentive the staff are. They literally will sit down and talk to you. Food is amazing! Went for veggie pakora for starters and then the recommended chicken tikka Ambala for main. Sati is an amazing host and loved hearing his stories. Also check out the pictures on the way to the toilet!

Nam with cheese was more like pizza. The lamb was nice and Tender but the special house recommended sauce wasn't really good. The mango lassi was excellent. The Service was good and the place very interesting.

Traveled up from Birmingham to see the Rangers game and was so lucky to book Mr Singhs.from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were made to feel like nothing was to much for them.its a family run business and everyone is amazing and the food matched it.Mr singh called my husband mr Smith and when he found out he’d been to the game he told him all about his time at Rangers and let him see Michael Beales winners medal.if I could give 10 stars I would thank you everyone at Mr Singhs.

Comida india de muy buena calidad. Fresco y sabroso. Perfecto para la entrega a domicilio. Gran valor también. Ideal para vegetarianos y opciones más convencionales también.

I am disabled which means I am almost completely blind and I also have some walking issues. However I am very independent and like to do things for myself. On the evening my husband and I visited the restaurant I went to the toilet by myself without any problem when I returned to the table one of the waiters came to our table and whispered in my ear as my husband was ordering some drinks “you madam may have one glass of wine with your dinner and no more, I’ve been watching you” we left straight away and I’m outraged and disgusted by this behaviour. Won’t ever return to this place. Very rud3 and ignorant

Beautiful food, portion sizes were definitely only for one person most will.need 2/3 dishes. Quite pricey when you do this. Cocktails, drink and food service was good although there were only 1/2 other tables dining. Lights out in most of the gents toilets ....other than that Beautiful.surroundings and we will visit again.
