Mr Scrumptious in Taunton Deane

As my first night out in Taunton, this place ruined my night. The bossman who runs the place was uninviting and awfully rude (I apologise to the 2 young lads who were both polite and friendly. You guys were great). This place offers diculous prices for the low quality provided. Pretty disappointed, largely to the main man. Honestly, order from elsewhere if you get the chance

I've been driving from Bridgwater to Taunton to get these kebabs for 2 years. Used to live nearby and then moved to Bridgwater, tried all the bridgwater local ones and they are nowhere near as good. Best one around by far. Their app is very easy to use also. Portion sizes are decent and they're always cooked well. Have yet to find another one that matches them. They have the full range of meats that you'd expect. They make the sauce, it's not from a plastic bottle. 10/10

Myself, my fiancé, several family members+friends have been enjoying the food from here for years. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food+hygiene ratings are always great.

Ordered food as regularly do order food and has always been nice this time it was cold and vile through it away couldint get through on the phone so logged a complaint for a refund but got refused so thought I would tell people exactly what this takeaway is like will never order from hear again nor will any of my family who also regularly order from hear

Called up to order , they swore at me down the phone after telling them I couldn't pay card. Staying at the hotel down the road, and wouldn't provide my room number due to safety issues. They continued to swear at me. Very rude.

Chicken donner was 9/10- Delicious! Lamb donner was 5/10- thickly cut with barely no seasoning/spices. Quite bland.

Nice RAW shish kebab, no drinks delivered. Not willing to do anything. THIS PLACE JUST CANT ADMIT FAULT!! Instead u get barred!!

Food was cold and chips tasted microwaved. Onion rings were sitting in fat We ordered over the phone and did wasn't cooked to order. Food was over priced and not much of it! On collecting they still only take cash and no card service

Their lamb shish kebab is gorgeous. Travel for 40 from our village just to get one. All other food is outstanding too.

Mr Scrumptious is a Turkish Kebab takeaway at the top of East Reach. I had a portion of chips and a beef burger, topped with cheese, salad and garlic sauce. The burger was toasted crisply and the salad was fresh and crisp. The chips were easily some of the best I have tasted from a takeaway.The food was prepared quickly and served in a foam box wrapped in paper. It was still hot enough to eat by the time I drove home about 2 miles away. The takeaway was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly. Other customers I spoke to whilst I was there, appeared to be regulars, and very happy with the service. Food can be ordered online via their website or using their own IOS and Android apps. If you want to visit on site please note that it is cash orders only.

Arrived on time, the nicest thing was the chips, the garlic mayo tastes horrible and has a nasty flour like texture. Almost like it’s out of date. Won’t be returning.

35 min delivery shown but arrived before then. The biggest kebabs I’ve ever seen and absolutely delicious. I won’t use anyone else after their fantastic service , delivery and quality of food. I would recommend them to anyone 👍👍👍

One of the only places in Taunton where I've seen the meat cooked traditionally over hot coals. Really makes all the difference to the taste of the food. 100% worth a revisit.

Not great to be honest, I’m a night worker in the nightclubs and was working in Taunton, I had my other half with me and I sent her in to get the food, at first it was not a warm welcome, did was ordered, they were rude and obnoxious speaking in their own language and laughing as were talking and looking at my other half, the food was ok but very unprofessional service won’t return no need for that type of attitude.

delivery was quick at 3am but the food was absolutely grim, the garlic sauce was sour and most likely expired and the chicken doner wrap was a sad state of affairs. Truly awful, the cheesy chips were the only edible thing and even that is generous. EDIT: The manager phoned me very angry complaining about this review almost sort of trying to intimidate me or something, so just another reason to not touch this place with a barge pole. He did say the garlic sauce was yogurt and that was the reason for the taste, however unless it was made from lemons it had no right being that foul. EDIT 2: Re-ordered cheesy chips, they were decent. 3 Stars overall now.

The quality is no longer what it was, I’ve been going here for 30 years, no more, charging high prices for really bad quality lamb, the lam was so tough and chewy, I’ve decided to use it as shoe leather. They’re using low quality lamb in order to boost their profits, will definitely not be going back.... I gave it one star, but if I could it would be zero stars....

Do not order here. Service is appalling. Online booking suggested 45 min delivery....taking much longer than advised and when I called to check status, they seemed completely indifferent. Food not arrived yet but will not be ordering again.

Although it's abit slow going here,plus staff a little grumpy... The kebabs are in top two in Taunton I reckon,and the chicken chaktika is really nice , seems very popular and seen large queues outside which shows people willing to wait even when out drinking lol ..good sign!

Ordered Family Pizza 2 for delivery. Arrived late. No drinks (two cans included in meal deal) - said they would bring them back but didnt turn up. Ordered extras on pizza at 1.10 each - neither of these were on the pizza. Tried ringing but phone rang out and no ansaphone. Unless you want to go into the shop and wait so you can check your order before handing over your cash I wouldnt bother.

Popped into empty shop easter sunday evening, really grumpy guy served me. Had mixed kebab and chips.. meat a bit dry but was ok, nice chips though.

Very impressed. Meat was fantastic recommend the combos. Only reccomdation from me is Get a spicier chilli sauce for us hot heads to go along side your great tasting other one. Really impressed.

I was visiting friends near taunton and we decided to go into taunton for food. Easy to find on the high street so we went inside. Open fire pit which they cooked chicken and kofte kebabs on made the food taste delicious, the salad that came with the kebabs are superbly fresh and the sauces are very nice. great price for the kebabs and was very speedy too. great service from the staff and very polite. I would deffo go back if in the area it was one of the best kebabs ive had ever!!!!

They dont seem to like customers here. We have ordered on two occasions now and each time the man taking our order got rather aggressive! The food is ok, but made almost irrelevant by their hostile nature when taking orders!

Decent chicken doner kebab. Small with large chips was enough for me. Cash only. Very rude and unfriendly staff. I don't know why I keep coming back here. But everytime I feel like not welcomed there and they hate me for being a customer. Wouldn't recommend.

This was rubbish, it wasn't busy and I ordered chips and curry sauce, 5 minutes later when I got home I realised there was hardly any curry sauce and what little sauce there was was just like gravy, very disappointing and it seems like they rip you off if they think you've had a drink ( I hadn't been drinking I was driving my friend who had had a few drinks) Avoid if you can, you just get cr-ap

I rang for a delivery of a Donna and chicken kebabs on a Sunday early evening at 5.15 pm, kebab guy answered the phone and said 'we don't open until 6pm on a Sunday' I apologised for my mistake and told kebab guy that I would ring back later, he must have felt sorry for me for being a bit thick and said 'let me take your order and we will send it over when we open at 6pm.' Door bell rings at 3 minutes to six (3 mins before they open on a Sunday) and it's kebab guy with our food, the kebabs were absolutely lovely and the chips are the best in town, now that's service for you. Thanks guys!

Terrible kebab....missed out all the sauce orders and gave me left overs... Ended up with an under cooked pita with some barely cooked meat in it .

Popped in for a late night kebab, as usual served quickly and a good large tasty portion was had. If you have had a few then this ticks the box, a real boys finish to the evening.

just bought tonight a shish lamb kebab and the lamb is so tuff like a rubber. its very dry too.
