The Phoenix in Taunton Deane

Please be very careful ordering through their website for delivery, we regularly collect, but tonight placed an order of £60 online. Website accepted order, address and took money. Less then 5 mins they rejected order as 3.6 miles is too far for them to deliver, despite delivering to us previously a few months ago. Never called to ask if we could collect as an alternative ( we would have). We now won’t get our money refunded for 3-5 days, so a very expensive take away tonight as have to pay again someone else. It is a special occasion else wouldn’t have worried! Never known this to happen else where. To protect your money being taken I would order else where. Poor service and awful communication, when rang to have the conversation I had a rude response.

Just eat website said 45 to 60 mins for delivery but it took over 2 hours. Food was tasty but the duck and the ribs were really tough. Would not order again.

The food was horrible, came with strands of human hair as a freebie! Threw 75% of it away and the rest by vomiting it up. Never returning here again. Fingers crossed I’m not ill tomorrow.

Order was cancelled due to living too far away in North Curry, despite previous review on food hub saying someone had had a delivery to North Curry, and being able to order in the first place! Should be clearer about where they deliver to, and we should not have been able to order at all if they don't deliver here.

It's a takeaway and delivery Chinese, so the atmosphere isn't something to rate. Service is fine but as it's always so busy, food is stuffed though the service hole at you. It's good food here, always hot and collection is definitely quicker than delivery. There's always been parking when I've got to collect, so that's a good thing.

The only Chinese takeaway I order from now, amazing food and fast delivery. Friendly staff, my favourite 😍

Absolutely shocking service from this takeaway. Ordered through the Foodhub app, money was taken and order was accepted. 45 minutes later, I received a text message saying we are too far away for them to deliver, also that my money would be returned in 3-5 days. If this was the case, then surely the app should not have allowed me to order or they should have contacted me immediately. This is appalling service. I will never use or recommend this takeaway again.

We take curry chicken and spicy chicken but both of them was been really 🔥🔥🔥 spicy, I love spicy food so that's ok but be aware if You ordering for kids

Its OK. Fish and chip items nicer than Chinese items on their menu in my opinion but it's all nice enough.

First time using Phoenix as we had been recommended..it was delivered quickly, hot and very tasty...Will use again!

Standard Chinese take away, just make sure the chips are fresh and hot, not just hot and been sitting around for awhile. Reliable, polite.

I asked for spring rolls to be less greasy and bit more seasoning and gave me complete oposite. Normally there really nice. Rest of food nice though

Just moved to Monkton Heathfield near Taunton. Had a great takeaway for 4. The food was varied and very well cooked. It was recommended by a relative nearby, and what a great suggestion. I would say to anyone use this as your takeaway, very impressed. I do not post many recommendations but I was so impressed I took the time.

Went there Monday night sweet and sour chicken was very dry and chips very pale.my partner had beef chow main and it was very dry.will not be going back

Had a fantastic spicy beef curry with egg fried rice best in town and amazing omelettes

Just look at my image... the Satay Sauce is like a puddle of brown water. It is quite obviously made from a concentrate that you add water too, which is bad enough... but to then manage to screw that up is staggering. The fact the chef saw this rust-coloured pool of fluid in my dish and thought to himself "yes... yes that'll do" is an insult to me. I can make a sauce 100 times better in under 4 minutes, using only 2 ingredients. The Chow Mein and Sweet n Sour prawns were both mediocre... probably a 3 star on their own. But this diluted peanut water knocked it down to a 1. Don't serve stuff like this to paying customers.

Not very impressed tonight. I absolutly love the Phoenix food is delicious and fast delivery. Im just a bit annoyed as i went on just eat tonight and got rejected due to being too buisy maby. I rang up and the phone answered then i had a hang up whick was kick in the teeth. Being long weekend i can understand its a very buisy time for restauraunts and takeaways. Never have i had that before though :-( i was to worried to ring again .

Great takeaway with plenty of choice , would recommend.
