The food was awful . It took two attempts to get one breakfast right and then the chips we ordered came out with cheese (which we hadn't ordered) . We sent the chips back then the next ones were under cooked!!. Thankfully they refunded the money for those. The staff were rude as well so we won't be going back.

My wife and I were over on a coach trip from Leicester and after a wet and windy walk along the promenade we were looking for somewhere to relax, warm up a bit and dry off slightly when we came across this café. It wasn’t too bad a choice, but we must say that we were a bit miffed when we both wanted the special offer of the cake of the day with a drink and the counter staff told us that they didn’t have the cake of the day, and made no attempt to give us an alternative, even though they had muffins and such like at the counter. Saying that, we still enjoyed relaxing with a hot drink, minus the cake, and would still recommend the place as a good place to have a bit of a rest and drink. I couldn’t comment on the food, although all of the cooked food that was being brought out for other customers looked good, and the prices are very reasonable. We would pop in again if we were ever across in Mablethorpe in the future.

Clean. Friendly staff. Good choice. All jacket spuds with huge portion of one filling, would prefer 2 smaller, manageable fillings, however, nice salad on side. 2 slices toast with what seemed a whole tin of beans, again too much of one thing, but totally understand keeping it simple in case of busy days. Toilet lock broken, notice, but not fixed. Excellent view of beach. Nice tea.

Took my son for a burger to take away it cost me £3.50 and took 30 minutes to arrive and the burger was tiny (Tesco value pack lol) the burger looked anemic and anorexic and was so nasty my son threw most of it in the trash. My advice is to avoid it and walk an extra 3 minutes and use that cafe much nicer and cheaper (fyi I live in mablethorpe) or go into town but don't go to Mr.Gs

A stroll along the raised promenade separating the wide expanse of golden Lincolnshire sand that is Mablethorpe beach and the town of Mablethorpe resulted in us finding this cafe. As myself and the wife have a new policy of not stopping to eat at the first place we come to we ended up eating at this cafe. When by the sea side we really do crave, fish, chips and sausage rolls - well maybe not in that order, more so a typical British stodge cafe is what we crave.Having left our caravan in Cleethorps before 10am, those early caravan check outs really do leave a dampener on being able to cook a hearty breakfast, we were starving upon our arrival at Mablethorpe. Having walked past several, similar and I mean similar cafes, all along the promenade we came to Mr G's. G for Gaz? Well it must have been a sign. It turns out it wasn't a bad decision at all. Lets be honest, here you are not going to have five star, à la carte Thai roast chicken with mango & apple salad. But what you do get is a card accepting, friendly staffed, hot fooded and cold drinked cafe. The food - a sausage bap (roll, barm, call it what you will) and a cool can of Coca-cola for me. A cheese and onion panini and latte's for the wife and a sunny cheese and ham panini for the child, the baby, well he had his usual mix of self bought food. For me the sausage bap was fine, two sausages cut in half lengthways, placed upon a flowery and buttered bap. The girls commented that the panini's were fine, and for under £15.00. What more can you possibly want, a bowl of chips, maybe!Well dear reader we ordered some chips to share between us. These were perfectly fine, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. The staff that served us were fine, lovely and chatty.I must comment though on the choice of music. Well it was a dashing repertoire of familiar Hollywood music. Striking into the heart of myself, stirring me into wanting to explore more, I just needed Indy at my side, although the wife as a Lara Croft type has certain appeals, but alas the car park meter was ticking and we wanted to have a go on the pedal swans on the boating lake. I do think the 633 Squadron theme music was played over and over again. Maybe an aeroplane flight over the North Sea to the heart of Nazi occupied Europe would have been more fitting than an explore in the vein of Indiana Jones. Overall, you won't go wrong popping in here for a butty or bap, with some chips on the side. Everywhere in Mablethorpe seemed cheap and cheerful.

This is our favourite place to visit in Mablethorpe when our grandsons visit, great location overlooking the beach, supplies of books, pictures and pencils to colour in (which keep the boys happy whilst waiting for food to be cooked). Despite being really busy during this holiday season, staff are always cheerful and friendly, and food consistently good. Yes there may be a long wait, but it's freshly cooked and worth it.It's a clean and warm environment compared to the awful concrete nothingness it was before Mr G took over.Regarding the milk shakes....they are made with a huge scoop of ice cream and full fat milk , not just crusher syrup as another review states. No I'm not being paid for this review and I am not related to the owner!!! I'm just a satisfied local pleased to support a great Mablethorpe business.

Visited today, 10 minute wait just to order, £2.50 for half a pint of warm crusha milkshake! Ordered 2 sausage and bacon bap’s, 1 bacon bap, 1 cheesy chips. 40 minutes later the warm milkshake was drunk and still waiting for food. Got 1 sausage and bacon instead of two and bacon not well done as requested. So off she went to sort out the missing parts of the order. The cheesy chips were awful, bit into a chip and mouth was full of oil. Customers were complaining around us about waiting up to nearly and hour. Tried to order some sundaes to be told no one could make them, it’s an Icecream parlour that has sundaes on the menu!!! All in all a total mess and let down!

My daughter and I lunched here Easter Monday and were very impressed. Was really busy so had to wait a little while for our food to arrive but that was to be expected. I had fishcake, chips and curry sauce (curry sauce perfect) and my daughter had cheeseburger and chips. Piping hot, very generous portions and absolutely delicious. The ladies here are so friendly and nothing is any trouble. We had a long journey ahead of us so brought a slice each of the homemade kitkat cheesecake home for tea which was to-die-for! Shall definitely call in again and if it looks busy to you next time you’re passing - don’t be put off, it really is worth the wait :-)

Counter service is friendly, and there is a good view of the beach and sea from the window seats. The snack meals and beverages are cheap enough, but you need to be aware that this cheapness is a trade-off with quality; you get what you pay for. The cafe is dog-friendly, and it is ideal for take-away snacks for trippers to Mablethorpe seaside.

Been in Mr G's before for snack or two but this time it was the lunch time specials that attracted us, I had the fish and chips which I have to say having tried many other restaurants in the area, these were the best I have had the batter was crispy without the sloppy gloop on the inside of the batter that I have experienced at the other establishments I have eaten at. My wife had a roast turkey dinner which was wonderful with 6 different types of veg! Absolutely brilliant quality food at very reasonable prices, try it for yourselves you will not be disappointed.

Nice location. however the staff need some training- while waiting to place my order the Manager (I have omitted there name but they had manager on there badge), just stood looking through me for a couple of minutes. It was like I was not there. When the food arrived it was not the greatest but at least it was edible. While eating we noticed the owner walking around inspecting the place and order staff to re clean cutlery that out (shows it was dirty before) at least they were re cleaning it...

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Visited here yesterday as we have done many times previously and i was on my VERY SMALL electric scooter (ES). It was quite busy but not full as it is fairly small inside. Myself and my scooter took up the same amount of sitting on the chair as i was situated so i didn't need to use their chair and if on a large bike this would not have been possible. However a young girl asked if i could leave my ES outside and walk in which i could not as not able to do so. I replied we have been in there previously and had never been an issue but she said the couldn't allow it when they were busy. I would not have gone in if i was going to cause an issue or restrict any of the pathways and so i felt i had to leave, which we did. However there was 3 tables occupied by approx 12 men who were blocking pathways and not eating anything and were loudly talking to each other across the tables who were who were quite clearly obstructive but seemingly that was ok !!! I am disgusted in this day and age that such discrimination persists and i will not use them again. Perhaps they need to add a sign to the windows stating people with mobility aids would not be allowed in busy periods. Totally Disgusted. LInda Halls
