Not as nice as they used to be when they first opened the small fish are not nice think they use tail end for the small fish

Gorgeous Fish enjoyed thoroughly not greasy at all. When I first moved to area bemoaned not having a quality chippy nearby ( seems like an age ago) can't say that now, 1 or 2 scraggy chips but hey-ho. Takeaway Food at sit down Restaurant quality. The queue for service said it all worth the wait. Recommend.

By far the nicest fish and chips in the area. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Good covid measures in place. Please is clean. Food reasonably priced

Cod tasted good, chips were probably the worst I've tasted in a long while, short and dry offcuts and the portion was small. The girl behind the counter found it difficult to raise a smile when serving. Won't be returning here in a hurry.

Called in a couple of times recently having decided this is the best fish and chip shop in the area.Made the mistake (both times) of ordering large fish which was huge, but so good I couldn't leave any on the plate.Cooked fresh while you wait and very tasty.Only criticsm is they don't take cards at the moment, but there is a cash machine at a supermarket nearby. Had we not had cash, we would have had to venture eslewhere.

We used Mr Fish to supply us with about 40 portions of Fish & Chips on Saturday evening to celebrate my Dads 80th birthday. Got to say a big thankyou to all the team there. The order was absolutely spot on, piping hot, everything properly boxed up with a label for each family and delivered to us a couple of miles from the shop.The food tasted absolutely gorgeous with plenty to go round and enjoyed by everyone . Fantastic food and service so can highly recomend

Really nice, we ordered a variety of different choices, fish falls apart beautifully, chips are cooked well. We will definitely be going back for more!

Moved to Sprotbrough so you try the local fish & chips, present staff & very nice fish and chips with peas of course, recommended

Called here after a shopping trip to Wheatley thought we would give it a try! Got 2 large cod chips and peas and can honestly say it’s the best we have had!! The fish melted in your mouth and the chips were divine! Definitely 10/10!!

Called in for takeaway chips whilst in the area and ate them in the car outside. The staff were friendly and polite. The shop was spotlessly clean and the chips were lovely but one portion between the two of us would have been enough. It seems everyone wanted to park right outside the chippy as opposed to round the other side which was a short walk. We were lucky enough to get parked outside but we noticed people sat eating there chips in the car outside taking up spaces. We moved round to the other side to eat ours.

Just been in tonight. Ordered 2 large cod. 3 sausage and family chips. 5 cans of pop. And a curry. I left a tip cos the staff were so nice and friendly. Food Was bloody lovely. Will go again for sure ;-)

Local chippy to where I live and always presently surprised with the level of manners and politeness given to the customers. Always greeted with a smile and just the basics such as sir please and thank you make the difference. Also very clean and the food taste good too

Great staff, always happy and smiley. Been a few times and it is a good chippy, last time we came though the batter wasn't as crispy so didn't enjoy my fish as much a si usually do. However it was only last time, usually the fish is gorgeous!

Having reviewed this gem of a takeaway food venue quite a while ago, I just wanted to say that their very high standards of service, hygiene and friendliness are still as good as the day that they opened. They work very hard to maintain these standards and continue to produce excellent quality food every time. Very few businesses are able to stay at the top of their game over a prolonged period, but this place has excelled for quite a few years now. Well deserved congratulations to the great family team behind this undoubted asset to the Sprotbrough area.

Coming from Australia on holidays and wanting to eat English fish and chips I was not disappointed!!! 👌 Staff are sooooo lovely

Always absolutely terrific quality and service, with a varied menu that suits varying tastes - If you're not a fish and chip lover, or fancy an alternative meal as a change, the mixed kebab is amazing!!

Every week we have double haddock and chips. Every week the same excellent service, friendly and polite. And the fish and chips? Absolutely fantastic! Five stars.

This,in my opinion is the best fish & chip shop by miles;yes it is my local but I have never had any thing other that excellent quality food.The staff are always happy and helpful so any one wanting quality food then Mr.Fish is definitely the place

the food is awesome and the staff are amazingly friendly they love to help the atmosphere is a little squashed at busy times but that is to be expected peak times are Friday evenings at about 7:00 definitely worth a visit

Great chippy just off Sprotbrough road past the Newton. The chippy sells all the usual stuff but also does kebabs and wraps too. Reasonable prices and the food is excellent. I’d highly recommend a chippy dinner or tea from here.

We often buy from here if we want a meal in a hurry. The fish and chips are delicious. The fish special is big enough for a meal if you don't want a standard size fish and chips. Also the mini meat specials are tasty too. Your choice of meat ,salad and chips make a lovely change. The staff are so friendly and efficient, and the shop itself is very clean.

The best fish and chips in Doncaster in my view. Great service, if you have a large order you can call it through, they offer a great kids box which is plenty for my two to share. Its very clean and well priced

Been coming here for a few years now and never had a bad fish. I've eaten in top rated fish restaurants up and down te country and can honestly say I've not had better quality cod. On my doorstep too, but don't know if that is an advantage haha.

probably only eat fish and chips twice a month but if possible we use Mr Fish. the quality of the fish is excellent, really fresh. chips are dry, crispy and huge portions. never need to wait for fish, there's always a supply, cooked only a few minutes ago so fresh and hot but long enough for the oil to have drained off them to leave the batter nice and crisp - I dislike the 'fried to order' chippy which tries to make it a virtue but actually just scoops the fish from the fryer into your wrapping paper in an oily soggy mess - All the staff are friendly and we always get a smile and a cheery hello and goodbye - they aren't just bothered about getting your money but building up a client base. we are certainly regulars and would recommend you to do the same

At last a fish and chip shop you can recommend always consistent never had a bad lot even if it's been a while between visits mr fish is opening another shop on Wheatley hall road soon at last the other side of town can have a taste of what we at sprotbrough have enjoyed since they first opened their doors

Always freshly cooked fish and so white and meaty bang on every time. Staff friendly and prices reasonable to.

Have visited a number of times when staying with relatives in Doncaster both lunchtime and evening. Have never had a bad meal. However if you get freshly cooked fish it is excellent but if it has been standing for a while it is good but not the best. Service is always friendly and quick even if there is a queue. Chips have never been greasy. Will continue to go but always ask for fresh fish.

They say the best fish and chip shops are by the seaside. In that case, welcome to Sprotbrough-on-Sea! Mr. Fish is the best fish and chip takeaway in Doncaster; their large cods and haddocks are outstanding! There is an extensive take-away menu for kebabs also. However, if you're a fish and chip supper lover, this is the place to visit. I average a visit once a week, occasionally more. The staff are very friendly too. Highly recommended!

Tasty and relatively cheap. What more could you want?? Mini fish special is more than enough for a bite to eat after work. Kids love the fish bites meal. Yummy.

As part of our reviewing we are doing local 'take aways' and the business name here says it all! Light, white fluffy fish, fresh and very tasty. Chip fat must be lard based as it's got an 'oldie world' taste about it without the smelly bits. Wide range of specials on offer but our best recommendation is Baked Potatoe! Sounds a bit daft at a chippy, but they were divine. Get the ones with all the trimmings, salad cheese beans etc etc. Prices are very reasonable. Very good overall. Our review 8/10

Called at mr fish as I was passing what a very pleasant surprise the fish and chips were the best, freshly cooked to order good portions . The salad bar looked really fresh. The staff were very helpful and the shop was very clean and fresh will be calling again

For me, it's more about the excellent quality/taste of the fish - I can't really comment too much on the other food served at Mr Fish, as I tend to stick with fish, chips and peas.My friend made comment to me recently, that they were 'the best fish and chips he'd had in a long time.' And they are consistently good - not just a 'one off.'

I am fortunate enough to live close to this fish and chip shop.This used to be the worst chippy around when it was Sprotbrough fish bar about 18month ago. However when this family took it over and rebranded it Mr Fish, it shot straight to pole position for the best chippy I know of.This fish & chip experience is only made better by the people that run the place. They are the friendliest family you could ever meet. Always service with a smile.I hope they are here to stay because it is gorgeous.My only negative point would be that it shuts too early in my opinion, 21:30 every night they are open.Other than that I can highly recommend the place.

I have been using this fish and chip shop for about 6-8 month now and I have to travel about 6 mile (10-15 min ) to get there, the produce is always fresh and delicious. All the staff are really courteous and friendly towards all customers and its a pleasure to go.
