**EDITED** Popped in at lunchtime and was horrendous!! Uncooked fish, hard chips and extremely rude!! Not going back!!

Had great, freshly prepared fish, chips and mushy peas, and a game of bingo after. A very enjoyable afternoon. Wouldn't hesitate going back.

Had a done kebab, asked for salad, no salad on the kebab. Chips were proper crispy and not nice at all.

Was driving by this place while visiting family near by and came across this lovely fish & chips shop/restaurant. Me & my partner went in so glad i had small fish chips mushy peas partner had same but large, got a drink included in price. We both had bread & Butter. Lovely and clean restaurant friendly staff fully recommend.

We moved to Hatfield 2 years ago & loved the food here .The last few times we’ve had fish & chips they’ve been well below average & tonight they were revolting,the fish was all crispy burnt batter with no fish inside ! & the chips were like scraps . We didn’t used to mind paying £26 as they were well worth it but they weren’t worth £6 ,absolutely disgusting save your money & go elsewhere.

Ordered through uber eats and arrived 15 -20 mins later (very quick) to edenthorpe on this occasion the food was terrible, cod was alot smaller than previous orders but saturated in oil and mushy. The battered sausages were also full of oil...looking at the full meal we suspect it was refried.

2nd time we've been to the Bingo sessions, and again had a fantastic time. £12 is an absolute bargain for a meal, drink and 9 games of prize bingo. I don't know how they do it for the money. Lovely staff as always make you feel appreciated, and the food is exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. Thank you for another great experience. 10/10.

Absolute disgrace placed family order got back home 15 minutes later to no chips.rang up told I live to far away to deliver chips, options where go back collect chips or call next time and get 2 bags of chips I'd already paid for. When I said I wasn't happy about options girl told me that's all I could do, when I vented my frustration she hung up on me. Will not step foot in that establ8shment again

This chip shop is great, though I haven't tried the eat in place I'd still recommend Harry's 👌

Disappointed today, fish was the size of a goldfish half my chips was hard and uncooked, no service skillls and by the looks of it no cooking skills either, I will not be going again!

I ordered two medium-sized cod. They were about the same thickness as battered sausages, and totally not as described. They were also cold. When I complained, I was told that they were all like that. Indeed. I shall never buy from this place again. Awful.

My partner and I went for dinner today . Food was delicious .

Food was nice and hot (freshly cooked). The staff were really nice and welcoming. Nice dining experience. Also had food delivery from Harry's with still the excellent food delivered to my door.

Hit and miss with the food and the service

After visiting many time's today was a huge disappointment. Food Luke warm when it arrived the fish was grey in colour not the usual white and chunky no taste at all . Service very slow had to remind them we had ordered bread and butter with a cuppa tea which arrived eventually. People be aware of the price of the smallest ramakin ever of curry sauce £3 won't be returning any time soon

Great food especially their haggis and cod. I also like they have gluten free options.

Excellent service again, 6th February for lunch, pleasant staff and excellent customer service by lovely lady, showing us to table taking order and serving within minutes 😀 👌.

Been today for lunch and bingo the staff were fantastic. Went with a friend and both enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. Very friendly bunch, we will definitely be back

2 cod and chips tonight, both cold went in bin as dry and over cooked, either been kept warm or re cooked from lunch, that's the last takeaway from there.

Harry's fish bar is a brilliant place to eat. You can have a takeaway, or sit in the restaurant next door. Me & my girlfriend have been going there for a while & would highly recommend the place. The staff are very friendly also. 10/10. 👍

Made an online order through just eat for 2 Cheese burgers and chips. Chips were cold and looked liked they had been kept warm all day the burger was burnt and not edible. £6.90 per burger and £2 delivery fee for it to go in the bin, won’t be ordering here again.

Acabo de solicitar una comida familiar de pescado con papas fritas y viene con 2 bacalaos medianos, 2 papas fritas medianas, 2 salsas y 2 pasteles de pescado. A mi hijo no le gustan los pasteles de pescado, así que le pregunté si podía cambiar mis 2 pasteles de pescado por una salchicha y me dijeron que no.Me dijeron a mi el gerente que este es el trato y si quería una salchicha tenía que comprar 1 . Le expliqué que a mi hijo no le gustaban los pasteles de pescado y todo lo que quería hacer era cambiarlos por una salchicha. Tuve que pagar £ 1. 90 por una salchicha pequeña cuando creo que no es difícil cambiar. un pastel de pescado o ambos por una salchicha pequeña. La forma en que me dijo que no y que tenía que comprar uno podría haber sido mejor y realmente me ha decepcionado, ya que tenían que cocinarlos todos desde cero y no fue una gran pregunta. El gerente de pelo blanco con sede en Doncaster debería avergonzarse de su actitud tan pronto como lo interrogue se fue y todo el personal de la tienda no sabía qué decir. El caballero. Me disculpo por cómo se dijo y dije por qué estaba siendo así y dijo que no lo sabe, ya que normalmente permite un intercambio, ya que no es nada importante cambiar una salchicha por un pastel de pescado. This is one of the best chippy and restaurant around Doncaster it a nice clean place with polite friendly staff that seems good food at a reasonable price

Called in at the take away side on the 3rd Jan at dinner time and got a chip butty and charged me £4.80 for it, when I got home I looked at there menu and it should of been £3.80 OMG 😲 never again

Called on the 1st of December around 7.30 pm ordered chips and curry bread cake and a can of pop £8 got home and couldn't believe it only 15 chips and half a carton of curry sauce

2024 update. Food wasn't as nice this time. Chips must have been in the tray for a while as they were not as hot and crispy as usual. Why not tell children that some things cost extra, but just charge them instead. Food is still good but charging the extra quid takes the shine off, especially when it is done against kids.

Very great value fish and Chips plus loads of options for all tastes

This used to be one of our favourite fish and chip shops, certainly not our nearest, but we always felt it was worth travelling for. Unfortunately, after a very disappointing takeaway Sunday, I doubt we won't bother again. As with everything else these days, the price has increased massively, and the portion sizes smaller, but what disappointed us most was the quality. The fish was ok, what there was of it, but the chips were dreadful, small pieces and overcooked, I could have achieved that myself for considerably less money without leaving the house. I will add that the staff are incredibly friendly.

It was very good, excellent food. I will return at the first opportunity.

19 quid for 2 jacket potatoes cheese and beans are you crazy?! Also my gf is gluten free and half the time we order from the "gluten free" menu she flaires up

Haven't been for a few years...but always rated it highly...on this occasion though the food only warranted 4 stars...where the times before it was a straight forward 5...may well be because I'm clinging on to past greatness...but simply compared to our last visit pre-covid it wasn't quite value for money... That's not to say the food was bad...it just wasn't the same...and being presented with a glass cup of hot water, a dry tea bag and some milk just seems weird?!

Chips was a bit greesy and tasted like old oil

Called in at lunchtime, we were welcomed and seated quickly, it wasn't too busy. I ordered the small fish chips and mushy peas with a tea and it all arrived promptly and was delicious. A lovely restaurant very convenient and has good long opening hours. Nice friendly staff too.

Used harrys for 10 years, loved it. Went today and I can only dicribe my meal as a children's old fish swimming in pea soup. The peas needed a straw never mind a spoon and the fish all came out uniform shape and size...how if fresh battered..me thinks not. The fish size has shrunk and where it used to flake it now stays in clumps and tastes no finer than a wetherspoon children fish finger.i get costs of product goes up so you buy cheaper but guys it was bad. Not the famous harrys we all talk about. When we said we was going harrys a few in pub pulled a face. I don't no how to fix the costs of products and it's no reflection on staff but today it was bad and I will in future buy a cheaper version from chain pubs as its cheaper and quality is same. So sorry to have to write this review you were awsome

Loved the curry sauce on my fish

Did think it was worth the money small chips three pound and they was under cook and some was black fish was dry and tasteless if i did go back i get a bank loan but its unlikely try Broadway chippy much better in cost and tast

Given the prices being charged I would have expected more than what was received. Hardly any bolognese or jacket potato for almost £9!, think twice before ordering from here.

We booked a table for 13 people to celebrate my sons birthday. What a lovely evening we had . Service was top class , the table was set out lovely. Julie our waitress was amazing ! She couldn't do enough for us .Julie was very friendly, very helpful and a credit to Harry's .Our food was amazing with a selection of different meals and everyone throughly enjoyed what they had .All staff are friendly and we took a birthday cake in with us and they were so happy to bring the cake out with the candle lit ,they dimmed the lights and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Well done Harry's we will certainly be back .

Absolutely fabulous fish and chips! The only thing that let's it down is the rather poor selection of drinks. Some better and more varied wines, and something a bit better than john smiths in cans isnwhat their excellent food deserves!

Best fish and chips in the area. I prefer the chicken kebab, you get plenty of meat and fresh salad. Clean place and you can dine in.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE (potentially dangerous food hygiene practices) This was the worst fish and chips of my LIFE. I’ve just spent 5 years outside the UK, and I was looking forward to nothing more than a good fish and chips. Boy was I disappointed! I ordered here on just eat (on a whim, with no prior knowledge) and the thing that arrived seemed decent (at first sight) but as soon as I put the thing in my mouth, my stomach turned. The fish tasted “off”, and felt dangerous to consume. I spat it straight out and decided not to take the risk. Next, the spam fritter. Can’t go wrong here, right? WRONG! It tasted like old cardboard. Same here- spat the thing out and didn’t even think about trying again. Note: the food STUNK. It was like it had been stored improperly or just left for days before being served. Then, lastly, the chips. They also tasted RANK. Old, horrible texture. This place is a disgrace and I would not risk it again. No doubt the owner will find a way of justifying this (as I’ve seen multiple comments from then to such criticisms, where they unapologetically defend their horrible establishment). Absolutely shameful. Expecting a nasty food poisoning in the next day or two. Will update. Photo attached: the uneaten remnants. I ate the chips because I was starving but it took a LOT of tomato sauce. UPDATE: As expected, the owner responded, and tried to claim that this was not from their establishment. False. I have the JustEat receipt to prove it and I left the same review there. You can only review once you’ve purchased. Check out the reviews over there if you’re skeptical. STAY AWAY.

I've ordered in here once and never again. Food is cooked frozen and reheated. There are other poor hygiene practices. For example, I seen the chef smoking a cigarette by the food preparation counters. Not washing hands etc. This place is vile to eat at and never again will I'll he coming here🤢🤮

management shouting at staff constantly, belittling them, upsetting them. chefs are being inappropriate to the young girls, disgusting behaviour. Puts me off going here solely because of the staff.

This is probably the busiest chippy I've ever been to. Parking is an issue due to the large customer base they have with the restaurant side of things. Quick efficient service with friendly staff, well worth a visit

An amazing chippy I've been coming to a chippy at this location since I was 17 years old. I moved away but on trips back to see family I would always come here for chips etc as I always thought it was the best in the region I'm 62 now and on a recent trip to see my now very elderly dad, we came here again. The chips, sausage, fish, curry, pies etc etc etc are still amazing, but as I haven't been to any other chip shops in the area for a long time I can't say they are still the best...... However, my 89 year old dad still says they are the 'best in the region by a country mile", so I'm not going to go against what my dad says.

I have not been to Harry's for a long time as I wasn't keen due to a previous experience. However, on Saturday, we went for fish n chips takeaway. I can honestly say the fish was lovely, cooked to perfection, and the chips were plentiful and tasty, not greasey at all. Well done Harry's

Went for lunch with friends during the re-vamp promotion week. Classic British fayre....Fish , Chips and Peas, Bread and Butter and Tea. Had a large Haddock which was well cooked and tasty. Service very professional and friendly. Menu has a reasonable range of options. Soft drinks, beer and wine available for those who want them. No regrets.

Great value for money, excellent service and the meal was lekker/ delicious. We have booked to go again for a family birthday.

we went because it has just reopened and have a half price offer on if you eat in. this was around £10 full price so around £5 half price. I WOULD PAY FULL PRICE AGAIN FOR THIS. i am not joking when i say i took some of the kebab home for the evening. i sempt to be eating more n more n it wasnt disappearing. you get to choose which sauce you want with it, if you want salad and if you want naan or pitta bread. was very clean and tidy. yes its just been done up but stil you can tell between each service they are cleaning the tables well. they were very polite. checked a while after receiving food if everything ok. they gave you a nice amount of time before asking so you actually got to try the food. for accessibility there is a disabled access door. i took my guide dog in and they were nice polite and accommodating they asked if the place they put us would be suitable and if he needed anything. (this should be how places work but many times places make you feel as though they have hidden you out the way with a guide dog top praise to the staff. will definitely be going again even when full price. sister had fish and chips with curry and said how nice it was. chips wernt dripping in grease the fish batter was nice and crisp and not all soggy

Visited restaurant tonight and found it a very cold experience. The young girl was very polite. But the restaurant lacks the restaurant experience . Pop served in bottles for you to open yourself with empty glasses. Food was okay. An elderly man came in and sat at the table for 10 minutes before anyone noticed him . What I would think would be better and more welcoming is waitresses actually coming to people's table and asking can I take your order instead of having to walk up to the counter . The sauces would be better if there was actual bottled and not sachet ones it's not very professional and elderly people would struggle to open them . I think this would improve your restaurant and you need to make your customers more welcoming . It feels very cold and blunt

What a truly wonderful 1st time experience at Harry's Fish Bar & Restaurant. We booked for lunch and informed the restaurant it would be a party of 9. From the outset, there was such a warm and pleasant welcome, we felt at ease straight away. Not to mention the stunning interior. Clean and modern plus very well laid out. The children were given colouring pads and crayons, and nothing was too much trouble. Friendly staff, stunning food and great value for money. The host took time out to talk with us and invited us back for the menu relaunch. The kids even got some Halloween treats at the end! This is the pinnacle of how a family restaurant should be run and we will definitely be returning in the coming weeks. Can't recommend this place enough and it's certainly worth a try. Well done guys, keep up the fantastic work!!
