Mr Cooper’s Coffee House in Scarborough

Sorry, for me just average. My coffee was ok but my partner really didn't like his flat white May just have been an off day or long week for the staff but not very friendly.

Always come here when in Whitby. The coffee is the best, with a mini jammy dodger on the side. The food is fresh and delicious. It’s great for vegans and the array of cakes is superb. Lovely little spot and always busy. Love the breakfast and lunch here. The bagels are packed full too ❤️

We found this lovely coffee shop on our visit last year so knew when we returned this year that we would definitely be visiting. The shop has a lovely menu and is very reasonably priced. Our dogs love it to especially the scrambled egg. They also have a good drinks range and brunch menu and a nice cake counter.

Deliciously naughty pastries with a coffee. Great place for elevenses - we stopped here having earnt something sweet from a long walk up to the abbey and back. It was very busy and easy to see why, really nice homemade cakes and pastries. I had a delicious raspberry Portuguese custard tart.

Just what Whitby needed. We have been visiting Whitby for years and always struggled to get a decent coffee. Having searched high and low we stumbled across Mr Coopers Coffee House, as with previous experiences we hesitated and looked around, decided to go back and give it a go. Best coffee house by far in Whitby, so glad we decided to try it, will definitely be regular visitors when in Whitby.

Amazing food - fresh and well prepared. The place has a lovely atmosphere! I ordered the salmon and egg bagel with a berry salad and the serving was generous and food delicious!

On a very busy (but also a very cold, misty & wet) summer! Saturday it was very popular and we made 3 attempts to get seating - which was fine as there is plenty to see & explore in the old town plus the James Cook’s Museum is just is around the corner. We both an excellent flat white coffees with different milk types and of equal quality - great almond croissants.

Lovely little place with a great atmosphere. The coffee was some of the best I’ve ever had and the iced tea was lovely too. The food was delicious and reasonably priced - would definitely return!

Perfect brew with a view. Sat in the window on a cold Friday with a pot over watching the world go by. The little jammies dodgers that came with it was a lovely touch

My partner was moved out of her seat by a member of staff in front of a full cafe. We were told it was 'first come, first served'. She got a seat while I waited to order coffees but the couple in front in the queue complained that was "reserving" a seat (it's not, it's common sense). The staff were rude and uncompromising. We left and would stay well clear.

We visit Whitby often and quite honestly Mr Cooper's is fast becoming one of my favourite things about it. The decor is just wonderful, the food is out of this world and the staff are so friendly with nothing too much trouble. As someone with a gluten intolerance this is the only place I've ever been where I haven't felt I'm somewhat of an inconvenience. Practically everything on the menu can be adapted to any dietary requirements and it's all just delicious! Whoever comes up with their menu is nothing short of a genius. Im looking forward to my stay in Whitby in the summer for my 50th birthday and you can bet that I'll be starting the day with brunch in Mr Coopers as the perfect treat.

We have tried to get into this coffee house previously, but it’s always been full. This morning we were really fortunate that a table became available as we arrived. What a fantastic little place! Lovely, friendly staff & a nice relaxed atmosphere even though it was busy. We ordered the Blackberry Cheesecake Bagel & Scrambled Egg with Smoked Salmon Bagel & both were delicious! Our drinks of Hot Chocolate & a Latte were tasty too 😊. Really well priced, it was fantastic value for the portion size & quality of the produce used. We’ll definitely be returning on our next visit to Whitby in the hope we can once again get a seat in this popular little shop!

The best bagel I have ever eaten. And my wife's salad was the best salad she'd ever eaten too. We would return to Whitby just to come here again

It was good. Good service, good location and it had nice food and drinks. It was dog friendly and very friendly to customers.

We arrived here with two large greyhounds; we were welcomed in but we didn't think it was fair to clutter up the place so we sat outside at a table watching the world go by,which was lovely. We ordered bagels which arrived quickly and were really tasty and good value for money. We finished off with a latte ginger cake which was sweet, light and downright lovely. The staff here are welcoming, friendly and efficient. We will be visiting again.

A visit to Whitby never goes by without a visit to this little gem. The decaf coffee is the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast bagels are fully loaded…so much cream cheese and salmon! I also had a take out salad which was incredible…the signature salad with berries and pomegranate with balsamic dressing is divine. Another day we had the scrambled egg on toast loaded with Parma ham and chorizo …incredible! The next we had takeaway coffee and delicious cakes…the GF selection is outstanding! Dog friendly and friendly super fast service is second to none…and the dogs get a treat too ! See you next time !

Great location in the centre of Whitby. We sat outside and the service was amazing. Food/drink was spot on, and only took about 5 minutes to arrive! Would definitely recommend, and will be returning.

I came 3 weeks ago with some friends. Food was amazing so I came with my partner. Our brunch was first class. Good size portions and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. Will be back 🙂

Went solo for something quick and sweet to eat, lovely staff, lots of alternatives and quick service. Word of warning, the bagel fillings are absolutely massive! 😂

The bagels are incredible - unusual and delicious flavours, and very generous portions. The salad comes with little berries - ingenious. The food and drinks came so fast - there is no messing about. Genuinely would come back to Whitby just to have lunch here. The unassuming exterior is hiding some very, very good food!

Fabulous breakfast for myself, my daughter & my 18 month old grandson. Staff were very welcoming & attentive, quickly getting us a high chair even though they were very busy. The bagel with lots of delicious cream cheese was gorgeous, tasty scrambled eggs & roasted tomatoes, lovely fruit toast and first rate coffee all hit the spot. Great food alongside polite, friendly staff & all reasonably priced, it’s easy to see why this little gem is so busy. Thanks for a lovely breakfast experience, we will be back.
