Mozzarellas in Kirklees

Just arrived home from Mozzarellas. It was our 58th wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate it with a meal. It was absolutely gorgeous, I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the Sea Bass. Both meals were delicious and the service was fantastic. Thank you . Tony Dreda and Rory the dog. Family of 8 for a birthday celebration. We were booked in at another eaterie in Marsden. Having looked at their menu online & made our choices we arrived to be told they were serving only burgers. Feeling badly let down we left. With no pre warning we arrived at Mozzarella's. They greeted us warmly, got us drinks. We ordered & were then served delicious food. We had brought our own birthday cake, they put on candles for us & supplied plates & forks. Then provided napkins to take home the leftover, all for no profit for themselves. The service was perfect, we were very pleased & very grateful. Thank you Mozzarella's.

Staying in the area and decided to give it a try. Was very impressed with the service, friendly staff happy to take your order. We ordered a garlic bread to share for a starter and it arrived very quickly. It was delicious. For main my partner had the Yorkshireman pizza which he loved and I had the prawn chilli risotto, which was delicious. We would’ve loved a dessert but were stuffed. This place is a little gem. They were busy, working hard and ensuring their customers were happy. Shame we are going home tomorrow as would loved to have tried other dishes.

Saw this place as we walked through Marsden and thought we would try it out on Saturday night (31st Aug) booked a table online with no problems. On arrival was greeted and shown to our table straight away, waitress took our drinks order and we checked out the menu. Lots to choose from and all a reasonable price. Chose what we wanted and the waitress returned and took our order. Wow from start to finish the food was delicious, had a starter and a main and sadly couldn’t manage an afters as to full. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely visit again when we return to Marsden.

Gorgeous food, fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend to families. Spaghetti bolognese was lovely.

Lovely meal here for our wedding anniversary, excellent service and two Very nice pizzas. I had the Pepe prawn and other half an American hot, both were delicious.

Came for my partners birthday. Staff were rude and unwelcoming. Ordered the carbonara and pizza. The pizza looked like it had been gotten from a co-op and my pasta was incredibly bland. Not to mention, expensive. Ordered ice cream from the incredibly sparse menu, and got 3 blobs of chocolate ice cream, no sauce, no add one, just 3 scoops of the worlds hardest ice cream. We had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to take our plates, we even had to get up to get someone to bring us the bill. Unwelcoming and won’t be returning.

I had the meatballs and my friends had the carbonara and pizza. All were lovely meals and reasonably priced. We hadn’t reserved but staff really helpful and squeezed us in despite being really busy.

We visited here yesterday for a meal with family and friends, we have been here before a good few years back and found it really nice, but on this visit, I just thought it was ok. The kids' meals were good, just needed more pasta to go with the sauce. Our food was ok, i just found it a little bland and quite expensive for what it was, especially the starters. Would we go again? I'm not sure.

If you're expecting good food here don't waste your money. Ordered two vegetarian pizzas and they were basic at best, one inedible. No effort had been put into the making of them. We voiced our dissatisfaction to our waitress but no effort was made by the manageress to apologise and no effort made to put things right, they were happy to take our money for food not eaten. Shocking!! The only positive was the polite and friendly service of the two young waitresses who served us. Please go elsewhere if you want good Italian food.

Was a really pleasant experience with great food and a variety on the menu. Service really good and friendly. Food served promptly. The extra dessert shots were a great touch! Would order those again!

Really surprised to see a couple of bad reviews especially about the service, been to Mozzarellas a lot and always had great food and service. 10 of us went last night and all got served within a reasonable time. My prawn pizza was delicious and everyone else had a lovely meal. We will definitely be back.

Our first visit here whilst staying with family locally. Booked a table for 7.45 and still not seated at 8.30 - Food was to be honest poor - we were six adults and all of us left the food - to be fair we should have complained but the staff were clearly not concerned about us having to ask for the table we had booked and we all agreed we had made a poor choice of restaurant - we regularly visit Marsden and have never had a less than fabulous food experience. The pasta dish i had was so heavily salted as to be inedible - I understand that the location may not lend itself to fresh seafood but frozen prawns and scallops should surely be priced appropriately ? The actual bar and restaurant was attractively appointed just let down by the quality of the food for the price - would not recommend or return.

We waited 45 minutes for our table we had to ask how much longer and the reply was the people are just chatting! We felt the service was rude and inadequate. The food was truly terrible . No spice in the arrabiatta . All food was flavourless . The sauces were awful. The Gnocchi was just so salty it was inedible. We were asked if the food was ok as the plates were still full, our silence spoke volumes . Overall the food was pricey the service was poor. The wine was expensive. The wait for the table was unacceptable and not addressed . I do not recommend at all.

I just want to commend the staff here at Mozzarellas, Marsden. The meal was amazing, portions were more than substantial. I want the staff to be aware that they have done an amazing job this evening. While we have been here a large group have come to the restaurant (more than had booked to come here apparently) the group have been loud and obnoxious, expecting the staff to accommodate them even though the restaurant is full, including young families. The staff have been nothing less than professional and I will be more than happy to return. Be thankful for the job waiters and waitresses do they should all be commended for what they have to put up with.

We came for a meal with our 4 children and grandparents! The new menu didn’t disappoint! We all loved it old and young! The staff were fantastic well done guys keep up the hard work!!

Love this place!! From the moment we walked in everything was just perfect. The staff are attentive, polite and professional. The food is fabulous, portion sizes are rather generous too!! Wonderful atmosphere and just just wish it was on my doorstep. Thank you ladies for looking after us, you were amazing!

Booked in for the Jubilee weekend on a visit to Marsden, so glad we did. Lovely warm welcome from the staff. Seated immediately and ordered a bottle of prosecco which was promptly delivered. Mused over the menus and within a short time our order was taken.... advised that it woumd take a little time to prepare the meals which was good. Our meals arrived in a perfectly expected time and have to say, we're piping hot, fresh and very tasty. Nothing at all to fault here, the staff are prompt and cheery, the food is fabulous, very well priced and the atmosphere is perfect. Just wish it was local. Cannot recommend this place enough, amazing.

We nipped in for a light dinner before seeing a show. 45 minutes after ordering food we left without eating as the food was yet to materialise. I'm sure it would have been delicious if I had tasted a bite. Still ended up paying for the food we didn't eat but I blame the latter on English civility.

Really nice food in a casual restaurant setting. Everyone enjoyed their choices and the service was good. We will go back.

This used to be a firm favourite particularly for large group gatherings, even when standards and service started to decline we continued to go as it was convenient to access. This stopped 12 months ago with a disastrous meal and we vowed not to return, but we did and .....WOW! Amazing food and amazing service! We were a large group of 17 including 3 children and there wasn’t an empty plate among us, with a great choice catering for many dietary needs and of good value - we will definitely be back

Recent offers and groupon deals seemed to have brought people out on a dark, cold night: Tuesday evening in Marsden village and Mozz’s was buzzing.Heather gave us a really smiley welcome and provided attentive, chatty service. She was really good!We started off with Peronis and garlic bread. Perfect. Both our main courses (slow cooked shin beef and sea bass) were tasty and good size portions.We’ve found food and service to be disappointing over the past few years and hope the current team manage to maintain the standard we enjoyed last night. Been ordering from Mozzarellas for just over 3 months now, the pizzas are superb, available with Vegan cheese too, would definitely reccomend. Sat in a few times and can't complain, good selection and are willing to change the item to make it vegan friendly when available.

Booked a table for 7.30 when we arrived we were told our table the people eating at the moment we’re late so there would be a delay. We sat at a high table for four (there were 6 of us) we ordered a bottle of wine, to share. We sat for an hour then when asked how long for the waitress came over with menus. We chose our meal and when the starters came out we were still sat in the bar area. We asked if our table was ready, we were then shown our table. We ate our starter which was nice. When the main food came we asked for the water we asked for previously, which came. The food was delicious. However in every Italian restaraunt we get offered pepper/Parmesan we had to ask for this. When we asked for another bottle of the wine we had we were told they didn’t have any left. Nothing else was offered!. We ordered coffees. We got no messages of sorry about the mess up. I think they had overbooked to be honest. When I went to pay the guy did ask how was the meal etc I told him we were not really happy about the wait and the service. He said it was a one off (we have eaten here before with no problems. We got nothing off the bill or anything just a sorry

We have been regular visitors to Mozzarellas for several years and we have never been disappointed with our meals or the welcome we recieve. We booked for a family gathering on Xmas eve and had a fantastic time - great food and great service once again. Thank you team M.

I came here a couple of months ago but the food menu seems to have changed. There was a couple of things (chicken ceaser pizza) I miss but there seems to be a lot of new things to try which keeps it interesting. The cocktails we tried looked very professional. Good for a late night drink or a quick bite to eat during the week if you dont want to cook at home.

Brought a few colleagues to here on a whim as I heard good reviews about the pizzas. I didn't realise they were cooked in the middle of the restaurant which we thought was a nice touch. As a vegan I was hesitant to order but it was great to know they offered vegan cheese so I could have the majority of pizzas on the menu.

Last Saturday I celebrated my Dad’s birthday at Mozzarella’s. We all ordered a range of garlic breads to share which was extremely tasty. For my main i tried the lamb meatballs. They were absolutely incredible! The sauce was spicy but perfect for me. Definitely will be back!

Definitely upped it’s game since last visit over 12 months ago. What we had was excellent, really really tasty, however, compared to other Italian Style restaurants it was fairly expensive. £13 for Lasagne? £13 for mushroom bake? Non meat ? (Both Delicious BTW) but seriously? Way too expensive. Staff very friendly and no complaints there, I just think for a village Italian Styled restaurant it’s too expensive.

I used to love this place, but it's been going downhill, for a while. Went last night and although expensive, the pizzas are always really nice. Both myself and my partner ordered a pizza each.. this was the first cheese-less pizza, I've ever been served!! The tiniest, almost invisible sprinkle! We mentioned it to the waitress, who was lovely and apologetic..but at almost £60 on a Monday night, for rubbish pizza and a couple of drinks, its put us off returning.

I haven’t eaten here for about 5 years. It use to be an amazing place to eat with varied menu and tasty food.

Fantastic pizza party for the little ones, who got change to make and design there own along with a goodie bag to take home, and the adults who got to also have pizza and wine.

Came here for food tonight and it was amazing as always. We were served drinks by Alex who was very lovely (and great at making cocktails!). My pizza was tasty, despite not having a huge huge amount of vegetarian options they did let me add and change toppings to kind of make my own thing which I do really appreciate! We will definitely be back here again soon.

We have been to this restaurant a few times as a family and as a large group and we have loved it every time. The pizzas were delicious, the service was good and we can’t fault it in any way. In my opinion this is the best place for pizzas in the area.

We went here for many stepdaughter's birthday. Initially all was well staff were attentive and friendly. Starters and drinks came quickly, some sharing dough balls and garlic bread, quite nice but standard. It all went downhill from there, our plates were cleared and we waited for our mains, and waited and waited. No one came to the table and we had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks. With hindsight I should have spoken up sooner. But 50 minutes later with no sign of our food I asked a waitress. She did apologise and our mains arrived 10 minutes later. My pasta was fine, my partner ate his burger without complaint, he was however starving by this point. My son's pizza looked anemic, the mushrooms and onions weren't cooked and it had appeared to be squirted with some Heinz bbq sauce. My stepdaughter also didn't like her pizza. When asking for the bill the reason I was given for the delay was they 'thought' they had run out of pizza dough? You either have or haven't? it wasn't very busy so do not think that was the issue. m very disappointed as I have eaten here in the past and always had a pleasant experience. Will be a long time before I go again.

First impressions were it looked a nice place. However food was quite bland. We were asked if we wanted children's meals to come with starters and said yes, they didn't however which meant little ones were getting quite hungry and tired by the time they actually got their food! Why offer this then don't do it? Same happened to table behind with small children also. Also felt it was quite expensive for the quality. Don't think I'll be going back to be honest which is a shame as it's local and love Italian. Definitely wasn't authentic as most of our food had little or no taste! Also, toilet's smelt unpleasant, like drains, however were clean.

These pizzas were strangely too cheesy for me. I prefer less fatty gloopy cheese and more strong flavours. There seemed to be hardly any tomato sauce or veg on my pizza. The noise is deafening on a busy night. Service was good though tailed off and we had to go to the till to pay as despite asking for the bill it wasn’t brought to our table.

The dining room and bar are lovely and the food is very good. However, each time I visit the service is lacking. This time, the staff were great at first, until after the main course plates had been removed. After that, no-one bothered to ask if we wanted another drink, or deserts or coffee (yes, we would have been interested in all these). At 9.30pm the music got turned up, we felt as a hint for us to leave, so we did - to buy a drink elsewhere. We had to go to the bar to ask for the bill

i think every time i go its very basic and almost seems to taste like everything is either from a jar or packet. dont get me wrong it is nice, but only when we cant be bothered cooking and it is close to us.

The restaurant was very busy and therefore with no soft furnishings is very loud, which whilst busy is good and can add to atmosphere with the music etc it makes it difficult to have a relaxing meal. The starter garlic mushrooms was a average however steak main was very nice, the pizzas ordered were again nice however the children's pepperoni had authentic pepperoni so was too much for kids it would possibly be better to tone it down on the kids menu. Overall nice but nothing which would make me rush back.

We previously loved this restaurant. And it was so full on Mother’s Day that others clearly still do. But sadly for us the food was average at best. No chilli to speak of in the penne arrabbiata. Tasteless pasta dishes and a tempting ice cream sweet that turned out to be still in a tub from the suppliers. Really sad tbh.

We have visited many times before and always enjoyed our experience, but after last night we are sure that we will not be returning. The service here is appalling, the waiting staff were quite honestly the worst I think I've ever experienced, they were slow and completely lacking in any sense of customer service. It took over an hour for us to receive our main courses and, when they finally did come, they were average at best. we left disappointed and a bit deflated.

My partner and I visited at the end of March 2019 and our drinks and starters were very good. However the pizzas were the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. To be fair I’ve had much better pizzas from local takeaways and I am sure you will agree after seeing the photographs of the pizzas we had. Only two slices in, we got the attention of the waitress and let her know that the pizzas were not acceptable, along with the ‘dirty fries’ that were also over cooked. The waitress apologised and took away our food. Shortly after the waitress returned and told us they would charge us for one pizza as we had eaten two slices of each. I thought this was very unfair and informed that we had enjoyed our starters and drinks and would be prepared to pay for these, however we would not pay for the pizzas we were served, that in my opinion were terrible for restaurant quality at the price of £11+. 15 minutes later and no staff had come to our table to take matters further so we decided to leave our table and go to the till operator. We were charged for our drinks and starters which accumaled to around £22, which we were happy to pay for as we enjoyed, however please think twice to order pizza here as it was literally the worst pizza I have ever been served in a restaurant.

Been to this restaurant many times but service and quality have gone down hill.

Ate here last Saturday and it was lovely my pizza was probably the nicest I have had here and I've had a lot , visited with a couple who haven't been before and they both were impressed. service was good and friendly definitely be back , only gripe is I think the drinks are on the expensive side ! but it doesn't stop us going

Visited because we had heard good things about this place. It may well be a good restaurant that serves decent food but we didn't stay long enough to order.

My partner lives away so a nice relaxed quiet night with very good food for a reasonable price. Friendly staff as usual. Bolognese pancakes really tasty especially with crispy garlic bread.

We called here a few weeks ago for a drink and decided to give the place a try for tea. We finally got around to booking online and ate here last night. The restaurant was busy, had a nice atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. The food was Italian based ie pizzas and pasta but specials available. I had the fish cakes for starter (a little dry) followed by the Mexican pizza which was excellent. Very fresh ingredients. A little expensive we thought though.

Went here on the weekend with my 10 year old nephew. It’s an ok place to take children but I wouldn’t recomend to an adult. Food was average. Pretty sure the pizza base was a tortilla wrap. Service was poor. Will not be returning.

Impromptu romantic meal out at Mozzarellas, very impressed with the fresh tasty and imaginative menu. Pleasant, if a bit overworked staff. Great drinks selection.Suspect this restaurant will be a regular for date night but I would be wary on weekends as it fills up quickly and gets really busy.

Usually love it here, we usually order to take out, however on two occasions now we have been told they are “not doing take outs tonight” which is really annoying once you’ve had your heart set on it (especially when your pregnant and know exactly what you want)

This place is fun and friendly with a very Italian style pizza.

We visited recently for a family meal having been on several occasions before.

We were a party of 5, had starters, bruschetta was very good, and mains , pizza and pastas. All very good. It was a Birthday Party, so we had a complimentary bottle of prosecco. It was a great evening out. Will be back again.

5 of us went last night it was lovely , four of us had pizzas which were all cooked well and very tasty , the platter dip starter was also very nice. The service was excellent and very friendly we even had something not on the menu which was much appreciated. Looking forward to our next visit.

Crowded and noisy with no music. Too many tables. We were jammed in next to a large family table which meant being pushed to one side by ill mannered children who were constantly in and out of their seats. This however didn't spoil the evening for their equally ill mannered parents who seemed to have no control over them whatsoever. One screaming small child seemed to be a source of entertainment to them (possibly due to the lack of music). My partner (a vegetarian) ordered the Minestrone Soup only to discover when it arrived that it contained meat. The garlic mushrooms, which I ordered, also contained meat (bacon) although it did state this on the menu. My partners main was a vegetarian pizza which for reasons unknown had balsamic vinegar poured over it. I had the pork carbonara which I have to say was very nice.

We arrived at 6.45pm and had not booked as it was a last minute decision. Got a table in the restaurant immediately and our drinks order taken.

The last few times we have been I haven’t been impressed with the pizzas but last week they were half decent . Liked the new additions to the pizza menu as well. The colonel (not sure if I like the name ?) had an interesting combination of sultanas and olives which worked well. Service was good too.

Arrived 6.15, rest of party arrives 6.30 drinks ordered at bar and sat at our table, drinks arrive and food order taken by 7pm, starters arrived an hour or so later.

We had a lovely girly evening here we started with a couple of sharers which were to die for! That bruschetta! 😍. But the best thing was the mushroom risotto wow! Possibly the best risotto I’ve ever had!

Starter mozzarella sticks with dip£7.95. I asked for Italian pancakes with Bologna’s and bechamel sauce. Came and looked like lasagne pancake on bottom no layering. Alpine pizza buyers cheese and bacon. Thin burnt. Would not eat here again. Had to wait 45 minutes for main course.

Personally this is my 3rd visit , family including grandparents and kids have been many times, got to say on this occasion I was far from impressed. So our table was booked for 7pm on a Wednesday night and it was busy, but not full. We we served pretty sharpish and ordered our food. At 8.10 we were still waiting. When we asked staff what was the hold up we were told there was problems with the pizza oven and it was slowing orders down. The times we have been before the pizza was prepared behind the counter on the restaurant floor, but now this oven has been removed and all food prepared in the kitchen which clearly isn't working. Apart from the delay my main complaint was with my order, I ordered peppered pork carbonara. I have got to say to my shock and amazement my meal was spaghetti, carbonara sauce and cut up pieces of pork sausage. Not one mentioned on the menu was peppered pork a pork sausage. Is it me or is this unacceptable, I could have gone to the local chippy for a sausage. In the main the other meals were ok, but this is my review, and I sat there with no food for over an hour then ate sausages and spaghetti and was completely unsatisfied with my experience here and doubt I will rusk back....

Visited on Christmas Eve with our 2 young children for our wedding anniversary meal.

Went for a family meal and the food was good, nice atmosphere and in a great location. Worth a visit!

Went with family for my birthday. As usual very good. Quite busy as it’s 2 for 1 on a Monday night which was good as it kept the bill down a bit!

Sorry but the pizzas weren’t great. My base was a bit undercooked and toppings were frugal with very little veg on and that was the case with my friends pizzas as well not just mine.
