Lovely small garden centre, very nice owners and staff who support the local community with very reasonable prices and a lovely cafe with great coffee. Really nice place to visit for good plants and a friendly atmosphere.

I have been a few times with different friends the food and service is always nice. I have had the different homemade soups a few times now. It’s always hot and is very nice. My friends have had panini, burgers and breakfast and say they are lovely too. The staff are always friendly and helpful

I'd been to 4 other garden centres to find a couple of rosemary plants ' to which I had no luck in finding anything ! But with 1 easy phone call they had what I wanted plus more ! They even put them to me side for me ! Excellent service, friendly staff and a wide range of stock , a little gem in a rock of garden centres, well worth a visit.

Rude and arrogant owner that hides behind being real when in fact is rude and ignorant. Hopefully his business fails very soon due to him not having a clue how to deal with customers. Clown of the highest order

Appalling customer service! Me: Never before have I been spoken to like I have today in your garden centre I carefully chose some strips of veg plants which were advertised at half price When I got to the till, along with a selection of alpine plants, too, I was served by a lively young lady I informed her the veg were from the half price stand, to which a man interjected with ‘oh no they’re not’. I explained I had picked them from the half price stand to which he indicated they weren’t half price at all and he would show me. He indeed showed me to the same stand I had picked them from, where the sign was right above them! He said ‘it’s obvious it’s the knackered ones which are half price not these ones’. I said they shouldn’t be on the same stand where the sign clearly states they are half price, to which he removed the remaining ones from the stand and placed them on an adjacent one. I said there were only a few strips left which is why I thought they were reduced, to shift them, and that’s why I was purchasing them. Again he stated ‘it’s obvious it’s half price for knackered ones’. I asked if any of the ones in my holder were ‘knackered ones’ to which he replied no, and promptly took them away…even though the spring onions and leeks still remained in the ‘knackered’ section on the stand I then learn that the rude man is indeed the owner! Very, very disappointed. I have been a regular customer for many years and have never, ever experienced behaviour like this Owner: Thankyou for messaging Colne Valley Garden Centre. We aim to be as responsive as possible, so we will be in touch very soon 🙂 thankyou Owner: Sorry you were upset but think was wishful thinking on your part that perfectly good stock would be significantly reduced. If you are a regular customer you would experience this quite often Me: I’m assuming you are the same person who spoke to me in a rude, offhand manner Signage should be clear and stock should only be placed underneath reduced signage which is, indeed, reduced (hence why you then moved it so nobody else could be mistaken for thinking stock underneath a reduced sign was indeed reduced in price!) Customer service is so important in an establishment like yours A polite ‘I do apologise but the veg strips have been placed incorrectly and are not actually reduced’ would have sufficed The banger you attended and spoke to me was downright rude Owner: I’ve improved the layout to avoid further misunderstandings but was being polite and indeed euphemistic when I suggested wishful thinking on your part Really don’t do customer service. Enjoy breakfast in the restaurant, prices are good, nice choice of plants and garden accessories. Owner said hopefully 5* next time. Improve service in the restaurant and it will be. Waiting 10mins to place an order when there's only 1 person in front of you and the restaurant is almost empty loses 1 star, attention to detail ie dirty cups loses 1*

Took my grandad out for a father's day lunch and I was not expecting such great meals and at such low prices. Just perfect managed to meet some old friends too. My grandad loved it, I loved it and my family loved it. It will always be one of our greatest lunches out!!!

Went with a friend who wanted a breakfast but he saw the special and chose to have a big buster burger instead . This was 2 burgers , hash brown, lettuce, mayo , onion rings and melted cheese served with chips only £7.95. I had an egg mayo on a brown teacake which was served with small side salad £4.95. The burger came and it was huge with loads of chips. My friend said it was delicious and well worth the money. My egg mayo was lovely in a nice fresh roll. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food if having hot food actually served hot. The coffee, latte and tea is nice too. We wasn’t rushed either.

A good garden centre plenty of choice.

Always a bit disappointed when I visit here. The cafe is hit n miss usually staffing problems. The garden centre is expensive and limited compared to others. I like that it's independent though(at least I think it still is) so I do try to support it. There needs to be more staff and maybe be a little friendlier.

Cafe and garden shop at a convenient place ...near a petrol shop :)). Bought some magnolia from them, and they wrapped up nicely with string and put in the car. Welcoming staff

Got a plantable Christmas tree for our garden to grow with our granddaughter. Wonder who will be the tallest.

Just a bit disappointed. Went today to buy our joint Xmas present to each other. Really needed some advice. Unfotunatly non available. Older guy couldn't leave the till. I wanted to show him a large pot / large flame acer plant and possible choice of soil. Said he couldn't leave the till. I asked about volume of soil for the pot. He asked if I knew about Pye. I did, but it was a large square container. I hope the three items we ordered for delivery are the actual ones we chose. We would have spent a lot more money but felt quite down hearted and left. Really does need a change in attitude. .

Really lovely little garden centre, got some lovely gifts for friends and family. Treated myself to a lovely rose bush, very friendly and helpful checkout staff, advising me on how to care for the rose bush and what other products might be useful but didn't feel pressured into buying them, there and then.

Expensive camper to other ,,no much in there

It's a really good garden centre lots of bargains. Disappointed on my last visit as most of the bedding plants were well established in their packing trays. Maybe I just went on the wrong day. Will always use the place though as it really is nice.

Called in at the Colne Valley Garden Centre Pet Department today and was amazed at all the natural treats that they stock. From liver sausage, pigs ears, chicken feet, chicken wings, fish skins, ducks feet and so much more. I know my 2 boys are really going to enjoy the treats that I got for them. And on a side note I was so happy to find that they stock Webbox meaty chub roll which my boys go crazy for. Only 75p per 720g roll too, a real bargain. Get yourselves down and have yourself a bargain ❤️👍❤️

Good place for a cafe, the plants is good, not expensive as other garden centers, value for money.

Called into Colne Garden centre for the first time and had a lovely cooked breakfast in the restaurant, we also purchased a couple of items a garden reclining chair and a wooden garden arch that needed dismantling so we could get it into the car, the staff were extremely helpful even carrying our items to the car for us. I have read negative reviews on Trip advisor and I can honestly say we had a very pleasant experience and will definitely go again.

Average small garden centre. Let down by the miserable staff. Ask a basic question about their plants (I only asked what one of their plants was called) and get a barked response of "I don't know". Approach them with a smile and a cheery tone and get only grunts in response. I've been in several times as it's my local garden centre and they are like this every time. You try and support a local small business and this is what you get. Needs a change of culture and management. I'll just travel a bit or order online from now on.

I first started going to CVGC 15 + years ago. We used to take the residents from CVRH for lunch were we were always very welcomed and had some terrific times. Me and my wife used to also visit often to buy our gardening equipment etc and was always impressed with the quality and variety at the Centre. When we had our first child we took him up to see the pigs/fish and rabbits and had lunch in the cafe. We loved it! They did a Dance class which 2 of my little munchkins attended and it was just brilliant. It then became a regular outing for the family and we bought some beautiful fish that we had at home. We buy our Xmas tree every year. The staff at CVGC became family to us and we are so grateful to them. We unfortunately stopped going through lockdown and came back for a visit today with our 3rd boy and it was so lovely to go back. They were a few new friendly faces and they were very helpful (Angela, Amelia and Bradley) aswell as a few familiar faces I remember (Shirley, Karen) They have made some big changes and it's looking very clean, light and there is lots of excellent equipment. The cafe was very clean and comfortable and the food was fantastic and tasty. We will certainly be going again and it was worth my time writing this review. I must say I have just read some of the comments below and I just want to say. I have known the owner and staff many years and I know we are all different people with different personalities and some of us find it easy to talk and communicate like me ( I mean look at the size of this post) but others don't find it as easy which may come across as rude but it really is just a perspective and as I say I have known the owner and staff many years and they are genuinely kind, honest and helpful people who always do their best. Thank you CVGC for the Marvelous Memories we will treasure forever...

Always have everything I need in here. Staff are very helpful and attentive to whatever you require. The cafe is also lovely with some great sandwiches at lunchtime!

Beautiful Christmas Tree from Colne Valley, £25. Christmas lights are classy and the baubles are original and well priced. Super little garden centre. Never bought plants just gardening tools. Always good value. Highly recommended, although I'm biased as I'm from Slawit 😉

The Food was nice but one member of staff went out side to pick a dog bowl up she took it in side rinsed it in sink, fill it with water took it out for the dog then didn't wash her hands and went straight to cut some victoria sponge and mess around with other things, this is totally uunacceptable !!!!!!!!go there at your will. wash yor hands staff

Good range of products. Some of the larger plants are overpriced. Good selection of pond plants which are reasonably priced though. Staff are helpful and friendly.

The staff who work there are really nice especially the cafe staff, however the owner is extremely rude and unfortunately I won't be spending my money there anymore, he says he's cheap because that's how he keeps costs low but manners don't cost anything! I'd avoid at all costs to be honest

I have just been to this Garden Centre and was greeted by the most rude lady I have ever met. What made it worse was I had my 4 year old granddaughter with me. On arrival she must have heard me talking to my granddaughter about finding the fish department and she immediately shouted over her shoulder YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT I AM BUSY. !!!! She was talking to a sales rep I think but her response was rude at best. It was clear she wasn’t interested in having to deal with us because when I said I wanted a couple old gold fish she immediately said . YOU CAN NOT HAVE THEM FOR A WEEK UNTIL YOUR TANK HAS BEEN STOOD. I had already emailed the garden centre and they advised 24 hours, however it was advise surly as a 65 year old lady I am able to make a decision about a gold fish. When I said to her I could remember getting gold fish from the fair as a young girl and again her response was, SO WHAT SO DID I. All this was said in very aggressive nasty way. My little granddaughter just stood there looking. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never set foot in that garden centre again and will make sure friends and family are aware of my experience.

I'm a support worker and took one of my ladies for a coffee. I used to come here all the time previously with my family but haven't been for over a year. The garden centre was lovely with tropical fish, lots of home decorations and everything for all your gardening needs. Sadly the cafe was a bit of a disappointment. We'd only ordered a tea & coffee which took nearly 15 minutes, there seemed to be some confusion over a meal that had been sent out and even though it was not busy, we didn't seem to be the only ones waiting. Staffing seemed a bit disorganised. It's a shame 🙁

Good plants, great little café, no complaints!

Appalling customer service, miserable staff. Asked gentleman who served meif there was someone to help put bag of compost in boot, his reply was ‘who me?’, I said whoever was available to help and he very grudgingly, without a word, threw it in the boot, and left the trolley by the car when he could easily have taken it back as he was going. I did something I have never done before and left trolley in middle of car park !!

Bought a trowel which broke upon use. Took back, response was ‘that’s what happens when you buy cheap tools’. Poor customer service. We also bought 2 x pigs trotters for our dogs, they have been violently sick since the middle of the night. Avoid animal foods and the cheap tools they sell. We’ve spent over £500 in the last 2 months here supporting a local business. We won’t be going back.

Busy ! fab meal and homemade cake, could do with more trolleys for plants.Otherwise will go back.

Got some lovely plants for inside and out

Ordered food and it came at least 45 minutes late. No apologies. Obviously they had forgotten to cook jacket potatoes. Asked where our food was about 15 minutes before we got it and they said we were next but we weren’t. Don’t like to complain but this was diabolical!!!

A lovely time walking around so much to see and a beautiful Mothers day display the staff and owners so helpful.,the cafe was bustling and a lovely array of food. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Unfortunately my friends and I were disappointed. Not at the food, the food was lovely. I feel as though they were a bit short staffed. It was busy but we had only 2 tables to choose from, 1 was not cleared and the other had not been wiped, it was covered in jam. Our drinks came without saucers, food without cutlery...... Little disorganised, like I said maybe a staffing issue.

We enjoyed a good Afternoon Tea dance. Music by A-Train Swing (40s/50s). Lovely buffet Afternoon Tea was enjoyed. A narrow room for dancing however believe it will be better laid out for next event!

Love this garden centre, warm staff , decent prices , and not forgetting the lovely food in cafe (Toilets need attention and a face lift as they are drafty and unpleasant)

Great service. I managed to get a last minute Christmas tree from them when everywhere else had stopped selling them, so they saved Christmas 😁! Also, I don't normally go for pre wrapped Christmas trees, I like to see what they look like before wrapping. I must say that the one I got was probably the best one I've ever bought! Thanks to all who work there 🎅🎄😁

Great little garden centre, I go regularly once a week with a few friends, the service is always excellent and quick , the food and drink is always tasty and well presented. Will be trying the Xmas lunch this week for the first time.
