Had a very enjoyable time visiting Birchencliffe today The staff are friendly & very helpful .The choice & quality of plants superb .Just loved looking at gorgeous things to buy as gifts or a treat for myself Loved the cafe very clean & efficient sevice we had a first class breakfast A Big Thanks to all at Birchencliffe for making our visit so enjoyable

No help from staff. One staff member told me to find someone else at the till. No help from that staff member either. Either not enough staff or insufficient training in helping customers or both?

It was a great place to visit the lady in the outside garden area. She was very helpful to us while we chose our plants for our hanging baskets .

Lovely garden centre with an equally nice and very busy café. Catered to our dietary needs and nice friendly staff.

Visited today with my baby for a coffee. Had my coffee bought to my table and had my baby on my knee and asked for sweetener for my coffee and the snotty waitress just said 'theyre on the side' couldn't she have offered to get me some considering I had my baby on my knee? Where is the customer service? General decency isn't it. You're a waitress in a cafe, sure people help themselves but you could offer to get something for someone like that. I just thought what a ignorant little cretin. Won't go there again, plus all the stuff in the shop is tat.

Was not impressed with my very expensive Jacket potato . It was undercooked . Topping not generous had to ask for more . And it was cold 😞

Trying to find a parking spot was ignorantly told move the car, after finding a place approached young fork truck driver to say there is better ways to make a point without shouting who became rude and abusive called me a "wanker" and said to get out of his garden centre?? possibly would be better employed cleaning the toilets away from customers! If you want better stock/prices & courteous staff go to NEWBANK gargen centre Greetland or HORTI CENTRE at Overton GOODBYE

Have a large garden to fill so usually pop in once or twice a month to pick up a plant or meet my friend for coffee. Very sad to hear that Toby is leaving, always enjoyed our chats at the till. Would have given 5 starts nut can be expensive for some plants

It is absolutely amazing. Wide variety of plants( indoor and out door both), great quality of seeds and blubs. Early spring plugs, variety of them. Beautiful cafe and dog friendly.

I think the garden centre is OK. The cafe, however, is another story. I ordered mushrooms on toast. £8.99 One slice of toast arrived with a handful of mushrooms on top. It was cold so I sent it back. It came back having been reheated somehow. My friend had a sausage sandwich, hers was about £6. I felt my one slice of toast with a few mushrooms was very over priced. On the menu 2 slices of toast with jam was £3.95, so I was basically charged £7 for a few mushrooms. Whoever decided the pricing needs to give their heads a shake! On my way out it dawned on me that the garden centre is in the same chain as Mirfield garden centre where i had an awful cafe experience a couple of weeks ago. Won't be ripped off again in there! Lesson learnt.

The food in the restaurant is excellent although it there was some background noise - it could have been the air conditioning or one of the fridges. It would have been 5 stars otherwise. Still, a lovely afternoon visit.

As all garden centres these days, it seems incredibly overpriced. However, the breakfast I had was very good

Even though we are deep in the depths of autumn, there was still a great range of things to buy with some on offer, too. Decent prices and a nice place to browse.

A great little cafe to stop and eat at after buying your gardening stuff and Christmas decorations. A great choice of everything and reasonably priced too.

I find the plants generally over-priced however, they have a great selection of reduced-price plants! A big shout out to Tom, I think his name is who works on the tills in the garden section on a weekend. He’s always so cheerful and loves to talk to you about the plants you’re buying.

An excellent garden centre with a pleasant cafe

Don’t go to the restaurant if you can help it! Went at 12:30 today and nothing available on the menu this was after standing in the queue for about 15 minutes. No burger buns so not able to get any of the burgers, no pie, no soup barely anything left on the menu to eat. Ridiculous! then I overhear the chef say well should have come earlier, how about you manage your orders correct and get enough food in, instead of blaming the customer. It was only 12;30 and you had no food.

Called in to purchase some climbing plants. Three staff members, one cleaning the other two stood discussing ps4 and other gaming equipment. Approached to enquire as to stock levels as we couldn’t find what we were looking for. Were told “go round and look at all the labels” a call was eventually made to someone the result being along the lines of we might have some but if we have they’ve not been priced yet. Very helpful indeed. Going back to Harden they’re much more professional and have common courtesy.

Always love it here, part of the cafe is dog friendly which is good, plenty choice of plants.

Just love this place. Lovely meals & lovely staff. Great for a few hours to go out and have a look around the many healthy plants and finish with a lovely meal.

Just your average garden centre nothing too special Service at the till could be improved I presented a gift card which was scanned but totally ignored as operator had done something wrong !

I went to get some orchid bark and pots for some baby orchids that's growing on mine.

Wanted to buy my wife a bonsai tree for her birthday and it was very difficult finding any place that would have those in stock. Bought a beautiful bonsai at Birchencliffe garden centre. Can't pay with Amex though. Still five stars

The herb section was what we'll call it a little disappointed to say the least ' but so we're all the other garden centres and nurseries ! But when I spoke with one of the shop floor staff and they told me that they had a wide and varied selection of herbs and all you can see is overpriced tomato plants , I think they should know what stock they have in ' especially when you've taken the time to travel there ! Could Do better ! M@.

A brief first time visit for myself. It's not the biggest centre, but has a great variety of plants. Prices were reasonable and staff extremely helpful. Tried the cafe for a quick cup of tea. It was piping hot and the cafe environment was pleasant enough. I would definitely return.

Such a wonderful range of quality garden plants at reasonable prices. However, the owners are letting many of the plants dry out, by cutting corners on cost of watering to keep the plants in top condition. A great pity.

My daughters 19th and we always go for cream tea with family and friends . We have frequented many but - todays food was by far the best -sandwiches were full and fresh - desserts and cakes were beautiful - staff attentive and very pleasent - Food even came home with us. Thankyou for todays experience x

Garden centre with an indoor, outdoor decorations area and cafe. Large collection of plants and shrubs with seasonal variations. Plants seeds and hard goods are generally all good quality and prices similar to other centres. Well worth a visit.

Left without buying anything, as was snapped at when asking for a small trolley .I can't manage the large ones with 2 wheels. Apparently they only have 2 small ones and was told " well, you'll just have to wait". I won't be back.

Great range of products for whatever you may be looking for. From house plants to total garden makeovers they have what you need. The staff are always friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking.

Got everything we needed for our new border. Also had a lovely lunch in The Gardners rest. Will return. All the staff were lovely 😍

Well stocked garden plants and vegetables section. Advisors at hand to help also sell a wide range of other goods, including tools, outdoor clothing gifts, and decorations. It's very accessible with plenty of parking and has a lift and ramp up to a really nice cafe that does good homemade food, a good discovery for me.

Very good range of plants seeds compost clothes tools and a lot more and the cafe is not bad as well. So give it a try.

If you are new to this garden centre there's nothing to advise how to locate a suitable table, any necessary condiments including knives and forks etc and how to go about ordering. We ordered jacket potatoes with our chosen fillings and they were just warm on being served so disappointed. However staff were friendly and helpful so a little more attention to detail would be better instead of relying on regular lunchtime visitors

Lovely shop, very clean and tidy. Ramps to get into the building and to the different sections of the shop as far as I could see (I didn't go to the café so I'm not sure about that aspect of access). Wide range of products although there is a better section for indoor plants at the Mirfield site.

We had afternoon tea, the food was lovely plenty of selection and a reasonable price. Staff are great. Would definitely recommend

Visited for garden stuff, but decided to have a Bacon butty & Sausage butty… £4.99 each so the wrongly assumed that as it was described in the menu as white bloomer & malted wheat brown bread.. only for the sandwiches to turn up on ‘bog standard’ sliced bread…..Had to send back the bacon as it was clearly not cooked! Definitely won’t eat here again…

Best garden centre for miles around. Much cheaper than places like Dobbies.

Asked a member of staff of the whereabouts in the store of a product was not helpful at all in fact appeared quite stressed. Sorry if you're being overworked.

Great products on offer for reasonable prices. Had a meal in the restaurant - food was freshly made and delicious, good portion sizes and great value for money. I highly recommend the vegetarian loaded omelette and the toasted ciabattas.

Garden centre was well stocked with healthy looking plants at reasonable prices. Would have got 5 stars but for the breakfasts, underdone sausages with skins reminiscent of condoms and Eggs Benedict with overcooked eggs, very little sauce and rubber bread.

Called for lunch today. We had smothered chicken and cheese&onion quiche. Served by Kelly and further attended to by David. Everything was delicious, and the service was first class. It's just a shame they don't sell powered scarifiers

Really nice cafe place for a hot lunch or quick bite whilst shopping. Family friendly with plenty of high chairs for the little'uns, internal lift so great for push chairs and wheel chair access. Serves homemade cooked food, great coffee and awesome cakes, generous little lunch packs for the kids also available. Fairly big cafe so plenty of seating and clean rest rooms.

We visited the garden centre last week on a hunt for some last minute gifts. We were served by Toby who was so helpful and gave us some fantastic advice and care tips for our rescue Orchid and Love Lily. Amazing service, thank you!

Everything you could want in a garden centre

The cafe is wonderful I had a cheese and red onion marmalade sandwich and it was delicious I even went downstairs and brought a jar of it from the shop

The garden centre is great. Lots of choice, good quality and friendly staff. Large car park. Cafe is very average. Wetherspoons type food at inflated prices. Frozen meals warmed up (cold in places as not stirred) sandwich was extremely dull. I'd save your money and give the cafe a miss.

It is nicely decorated for Christmas with a festive atmosphere. There is a nice selection of fancy goods and, of course, plants. There is also a nice little cafe.

Just been with my wife, son and daughter in law, and our 8 month old granddaughter for afternoon tea with Santa, and it was excellent. Very pleasant staff and the food was lovely. Well recommended.

The venue had a very cosy and comfortable Christmas themed atmosphere to it when we visited there for a great value meal over a Sunday lunchtime recently. The restaurant area was colourfully adorned with many nice Christmas Decorations which could be easily accessed up a gentle ramp. We had the privilege of sitting at a great table so that we could overlook the balcony to the thriving shop floor below. The speciality coffee's were very rich and creamy as well. The place left me in no doubt that it is a well worth a visit to come for a very relaxing and hassle free Sunday lunch.

Good selections of meals and loverly cakes! Only criticism is too many non- dog people blocking the small section that is allocated for dogs.

Lots of lovely Christmas gifts to choose from & very helpful service as we chose an artificial tree.

Friendly staff, a good choice of everything you need in a garden centre -outdoor plants, composts, pots, indoor plants & everything to do with gardening, bird feeds & accessories. A very good gift department, well stocked Christmas/summer department, although I find gift/christmas/summer dept. expensive for some of the products.
