Mozkitos Coffee House in Cheshire West and Chester

We used to visit this delightful busy buzzy place a lot but sadly we have given it a miss lately. I passed today and it was really quiet which was unusual for a Saturday morning and I wondered whether others felt the same as us. The plastic sides to the awning make you feel as if you're sitting in a damp tent. Why are these necessary? It was so much more pleasant to be out in the air. You do have the added benefit of a retractable roof. No one likes to feel claustrophobic. We miss our visits. Please give this some thought.

I really lovely hidden gem. Great fresh food and wonderful customer service with a smile. A good selection on the menu to choose from.

The cafe is just off the main promenade, but is an ideal spot for a coffee or something more substantial. Nice outdoor seating area and lovely food and drinks. Will go back.

Definitely five-star food, but unfortunately a few unwholesome practices, knocking off several stars. Mozkitos, which I have been to many times, serves delicious food, but seems to be pandering to customers with dogs, rather than customers without dogs. On a recent visit a couple came in with four dogs to join several other dogs, including one that was totally out of control with its front paws on the table and wouldn’t stop barking. The owner of the unruly animal asked for some food to see if it would quieten the dog down. Food was brought out for the dog on a restaurant plate that the dog ate from, no doubt, a customer would later be eating from the very same plate. The restaurant offers blankets for customers during this cold weather, which is wonderful, and also offers mats for the dogs to lie on. The staff then handle the mats after the dogs have been lying on them and sometimes were seen fussing the dogs and then serving food to customers. I would love to return there but I find the vast amount of dogs rather disgusting. Please ban them.

Hidden gem we went for breakfast spotless, food hot tasty, staff lovely like the way its set out dog friendly if its a bit chilly as partly outside they have heating also they have blankets if needed nice atmosphere

We had lunch here today. My husband enjoyed his but my choice of Kedgeree was a bad choice. It was poorly cooked and poorly flavoured.

Fab as always, breakfasts are amazing, usually a couple of dogs 🐕 to say hello to. Have been a few times, staff always welcoming, food always excellent.

SHARING PLATTER - too good to share. Great coffee shop has now developed an outstanding evening menu. Not overly extensive menu but all very good - fish pie was excellent. Warm service and eclectic setting just off the main Parkgate Parade.

This is an excellent and well run coffee stop cum breakfast cafe. Pleasant staff and efficient service. great tasting coffee too. Arrive early to avoid queuing (always a good sign)

Stopped here for a late morning breakfast while out with a friend. Really handy location just off the parade at Parkgate and we didn't have to wait long for an outside table. The breakfast menu is very comprehensive and it was difficult to decide what to have.Friendly service, great food and coffee. I will definitely be making a return visit soon. Afterwards we completed a loop walk on the Wirral way so we didn't feel guilty about the bug breakfast!

Lovely staff who coped with our family of 6 and a spaniel and produced a fabulous brunch for a group with an age span of 68 years! Everyone enjoyed this so much that we came twice as we could not gather together inside our house. Everyone should visit here when they open again

Visited yesterday whilst out walking with our grandson and had a great time. It was really busy when we arrived but after a short wait we were seated at an outside table and the service was really good with a true personal, friendly touch. I ordered the crumpet stack and my sister had the Mozzy rarebit and both were excellent. The lovely lady who served us even brought over a clockwork toy to our table and personally kept our little one amused with it and he loved it - what a thoughtful touch! In short - wonderful food, excellent prices and amazing service - thank you. We will certainly return and will recommend Moskitos to our friends.

Had the full English and couldn’t fault it. Little touches like getting the beans in a separate dish, separate pouches of butter so that you can butter the toast yourself etc all add up to a great breakfast. The only improvement I could suggest would be tea top ups which some cafes offer!

We have visited Mozquitos for breakfast and also for a few evening meals. On the whole we have been very impressed. The service is brilliant and the waitresses are very friendly and efficient. All but one breakfast - when my poached eggs were way too runny - have been excellent. The evening meals have also been good, with some dishes being very much better than others. I won't enlarge on this because this is a new venture and the management will no doubt be reviewing this in light of comments and repeat orders. Much attention has been given to table spacing, maybe disposable gloves for waiting on staff might be considered.... We will keep returning and will enjoy watching future developments with this little gem.

We live locally and regularly visit mozkitos for coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch . They’ve started doing evening food from 4pm. After a busy day working from my home office we called in for coffee just after 4pm. The wonderful waiting staff presented us with the menu and wine menu. The choices of food are excellent. The organic wine menu is excellent. Our coffee went out the window after seeing the menus! We ordered the fish pie and ribs .. plus a bottle of organic white. Outstanding doesn’t come close. A wonderful impromptu early dinner sitting outside in the sunshine . What a wonderful Friday early evening experience . We did order coffees that we originally intended which were, as always, first class. Thanks to Laura and the team - we love mozkitos as our local neighbourhood coffee shop and bistro . Thank you

This is a favourite with our grandchildren who love having a mini drinking chocolate with marshmallows and a gingerbread man. We return time and time again for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Since it’s refurbishment we feel as though we are eating at a continental cafe. The majority of the tables are outside under a fabulous new canopy. Mozkitos have recently started opening three evenings a week. We went with friends one warm Saturday evening and had an excellent meal. Staff are really friendly and very efficient.

Well what a little treasure of a place! My Dad had ridden past a few times and we decided to sample today on a short bike ride with the little one. Service was great and they did a lovely Babycino for madam. Best thing was the coffee. Was absolutely delicious. Thank you Mozkitos!

A great (refurbished) place to have breakfast al-fresco, weather permitting of course! Staff were very pleasant and very attentive, and has a friendly atmosphere. The weather was glorious on the day we visited. giving the feeling of being on holiday (we are local to the area). The breakfast choice was good. I think this will become a regular place for us in the future.

Lovely cafe, that provides good quality drinks and food, all at a reasonable price, served by fantastic staff, that are VERY friendly and helpful. Located just off the front, near to St Thomas's Church and very close to the Wirral Circular Trail. Great for a stop off and cyclists welcomed.

Our large breakfasts (£10.50 each) came with tea and toast. They were well cooked but greasy, and the one dry mushroom on each plate had seen better days. Cheap, sliced bread was used for the toast.Some of the servers were smiley and pleasant but the more senior members of the team looked stressed and were a bit surly. Variable attempts had been made to address Covid-19 restrictions but we did have to go inside to pay; the server stood far too close (no mask) when taking our order and not all of the tables were well spaced. Glad we were able to sit outside.

Welcoming staff. Swift sevice. Quality yet simple food well presented. Opens at 8 o'clock so breakfast is a good option.

Really nice for lunch, cakes are fantastic (recommend the carpaccio cake). Staff are very good. Your can take your dog in too!

We had lunch at Mozkitos Coffee House in Parkgate. This coffee house is small and compact with limited seatings indoors but there are plenty of outside seatings. We suppose dining outside in nice and good weather would be very nice. This place serves breakfast, light bites, lunch and cakes. We had tea and hot paninis whch was served quickly and tasty. The staff are very helpful and friendly and customers with dogs are welcomed. We have had a nice lunch and will return again. Good place to drop in for lunch when you are in Parkgate. Called in , with our visitors from a York , for a snack and a drink . As it was sunny we sat outside with our dog . We were all welcomed warmly , ordered our snack and drinks and were served quickly. We all enjoyed the experience and would certainly recommend a visit . Very friendly, dog friendly and reasonably priced .

The staff are welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was amazing and reasonably priced. As other people have stated it is a small space inside and did feel as though we were sat with the people on the table next to us, whereas the outside is better / bigger if it is dry and warm.The coffee house welcomes dogs. Therefore not recommended to anyone who might not like them around. In all I would recommend and visit again next time we are there.

Having recently moved to the area we were looking for both cafes and restaurants to use. Came across Mozkitos coffee house just back from the Parkgate front and it is excellent. Lovely fresh food, nicely served by very pleasant staff, the owner really cares about her business and at realistic prices. Frankly nothing to fault. Oh the café is open every day and closes at 4pm

First visit and very nice too! Called in around 8.30 and greeted by friendly owner and equally friendly staff. We had 2 x breakfasts with tea and coffee. Swift service quality produce in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Sat inside as it was a bit nippy still but plenty of seating outside and on a nice day would idyllic. Plenty of awards inside for customer service. Deserved I'd say. Back soon!

My wife and I had only purchased 2 new bikes the day before and this was our first outing to try them out. After a ride along the Wirral Way we were in need of refreshments. We stopped at Mozkitos Coffee House and were not disappointed . Nice friendly welcome, good service and great coffee. This was our first visit but it defiantly will not be our last

We regularly go to Mozkitos for all day breakfast of which there are a number of sizes and ample additional extras. Beautifully prepared, cooked and presented for eating inside or out depending on the weather. We originally came to Mozkitos after getting poor service just around the corner at a much more expensive hostelry. Moskitos staff are friendly, attentive, and obvoiusly delight in serving their customers.

I recently visited Mosquitos, I live in Parkgate but have never visited until today. I was quite excited to try it! The sun was shining and the outside area looked like a lovely place to sit and enjoy some lunch with 3 of my friends! Two of us got there first and noticed it was quite busy, there were two tables left side by side so we pulled the tables together. After doing this a member of staff came out and was very abrupt and quite rude and said ‘I’m assuming there are 4 of you?’ There wasn’t even a smile! I’m assuming she wasn’t happy about us moving tables together. I was taken aback by her attitude. The food and coffee were excellent and I was very impressed!! But sadly I won’t return. Fortunately there are lots of other places in Parkgate where I know the customer service is top notch!!

Really worth a visits to this popular and great value for money coffee shop. Lots of choice and very good service. Food great and nice area to sit outside.

Well worthwhile seeking out especially for those needing gluten free options. Set away from the front but just behind the square where buses park. A warm welcome and a good selection of well prepared food and drinks. Small but nice atmosphere.

Such a fab dog friendly cafe! Called in for lunch, paninis were generously filled & had plenty of salad & coleslaw. Staff were friendly & attentive. Look forward to going back.

Parkgate is a regular Sunday morning destination for walking the woofers and it wouldn't be complete, without a visit to Mozkitos. Whether it's just a coffee or a full English, it's always good quality, served with a smile.

Absolutely fabulous place. All the staff here are so friendly and welcoming, you are always greeted with a friendly smile and a nice chat. The coffee here is exquisite and the food is delicious. A mega mozzie breakfast is my go-to hangover cure and it sorts me out almost immediately! Love everything about this coffee shop - keep up the good work!! 10/10

This is our regular place for breakfast when visiting relatives in Parkgate. A friendly place to start the day with an excellent breakfast.

Cute little coffee shop off the main road. Could do with being better signed as a lot of people don’t know about it. Very quick, friendly service. Food & drinks were good. Dog friendly.

After a stroll along the 'promenade' we were after some light lunch. We looked at another restaurant close by which looked as though it was closed (although it wasn't) I remembered reading about Moskitos on this site and we decided to go and have a look. It's a few yards off the main promenade, to the right of the church. We had both intended having coffee and cake or a light lunch but, after seeing the menu and Special's Board, we both decided to go for the full English Breakfast (served all day) and what an excellent decision that was. It was a long time since either of us have had a good old EB and this one was worth the wait. This is not a pretentious dining place but it is good food, served well and excellent value. I would definitely return (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon next time for me). It is small but has a good seating area outside. Cyclists, walkers, family, children and dog friendly with pleasant staff - what more could you want?

We love this Cafe and often visit with or two sons. We love the hot chocolate and fresh sandwiches and salad.

I highly recommend this one!! Haven't been for a while but will certainly return again regularly. Friendly waitress took our orders for coffee and bacon baps within moments of our arrival and both were served within minutes. Coffee delicious, baps fresh and tasty. Service excellent! Staff friendly and efficient! Venue clean and comfortable. More seating outside than in.

We cycle here along the marshes cycle path, always fantastic food, presented more like a restaurant than a coffee house. The staff are lovely and friendly. Spotlessly clean. Dogs welcome. Would recommend this cafe to anyone in the neston/parkgate area, definitely worth a visit 😀

This coffee house gets better and better. The menu includes smoked salmon and scrambled egg or cucumber sandwiches which are delicious as are the bacon and egg batches.

Only small and very compact, but can probably squeeze about 20 in. Always good value and service. Recommended.

Lovely feel to the café, if a bit cramped. Large outside area though but was raining otherwise would have sat outside. Dog Friendly. Service very good and friendly. Food freshly cooked - the only thing I would say was the cooked breakfast came with tinned tomatoes - when maybe a fresh grilled one may have been nicer and the mushrooms appeared to have been tinned rather than fresh. But other than that good choice and well priced.

My wife and I found Moskitos when we were out walking the dog and decided to stop because they had an outdoor area that was in the sun, dog friendly and looked really clean and tidy.Had coffee and cake and we weren't disappointed. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the coffee and cake were lovely. Reasonably priced too. Heartily recommend it not just if you are passing but somewhere to head to.

Moskitos coffee shop not only make a lovely latte and yummy food but will go out of their way to help me when I call in with my young children. They are a very friendly team who take the time to have a chat and get to know their customers. Love sitting outside with the view and a large coffee.

Bit shocked to read some of the reviews, visit regularly and have always found Mozkitos staff to be friendly and helpful. Feel this is the best coffee shop in Neston/Parkgate, enjoy both the drinks and the food, my favourite is the pancake with bacon and maple syrup, but have also enjoyed the soup and breakfasts. Great that you can take your dog, my friends dog knows the cafe well and gets really excited when she knows we are heading that way.

I have been this cafe on many occasions , the coffee is excellent ,but I find the food very disappointing ,and I have tried a many different items ,so good for coffee and that's it the food is poor ,small meals ,and expensive for what you get

Stopped here Saturday 15april for lunch,the staff were all very attentive my food was cooked fresh delicious it was ,also had a coffee spot on ,premises really very very clean,also home made cakes ,deserts,etc,etc looked very good,big big plus for myself dog friendly Outside seating available be great in coming months Just off the main road through parkgate but really really worth the find ,myself and my small companion Millie enjoyed it all will be back soon thanks well done

On occasions pop in for breakfast, when laura the owner is there you get a warm friendly welcome.. Sadly on this visit laura was not there. Our experience could not have been more different. Having been sitting waiting too be served for 10 mins with no acknowledgment, obviously a regular, walks in with her dog.. She is promptly served with a coffee whist we are still waiting to be acknowledged. The menu is then plonked onto our table without a word, or offer of drink while looking at menu. At this stage it is obvious that locals take priority. Sadly we just left. Doubtful after this experience we would go back..

We visited here, on recommendation, for a light lunch when visiting Parkgate. There is little I can add that hasn't already been said in previous reviews. We had poached eggs on toast with cups of fresh coffee. Excellent. Best poached eggs we have had for a long time. We found the place clean, comfortable and friendly. We will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending Mozkitos to fellow travellers.

We went to Mozkitos for a quick lunch on Sunday 5 March and as usual, the food, drinks and service was excellent. The sandwiches are freshly made and nicely presented with a very fresh side salad. The Coffee is also freshly made with decaf available too and the service is always excellent.Over the last year or so, we have tried many dishes. Hot food, sandwiches, cake, tea, coffee and soft drinks and it is always good, always great value. The managers are really nice and the young staff are excellent. I can't fault the place so give it a try.It's quite small but like there are a number of tables inside and outside too. It's dog friendly if you want that too.

We visit Mozkitos regularly and the food and service is first class... Laura always gives a warm welcome and friendly chat. It is the best coffee shop in Parkgate...well done Laura and the team. Keep up the great work

My wife Pearl and I have sampled the delights of this friendly little cafe a fair few years ago and have always planned to go back. We were invariably in a hurry or on a promise to be somewhere else each time we came walking to Parkgate. Not this time! We made sure that we had allowed enough time to revisit Mozkitos and indulge in their delicious locally sourced eggs, bacon and black pudding. I am happy to report that it was just as we'd remembered when we were last here with our now dear departed Greyhound Belle. Yes! Dog friendly too! Lovely staff, lovely, freshly prepared food..... what are you waiting for? Get over to Parkgate for a lovely walk followed by a tasty treat at this charming cafe. We'll be back for sure. Won't wait years this time either!

Whilst walking the Wirral way or along the front at Parkgate, I would recommend you seek a genuine warm welcome to this (not small but bijou) establishment. It was comforting that muddy boots and similarly clad dogs were welcome! Enjoy a coffee (wine, beer, cider or spirit! It's licenced) and an enjoyable bite to eat. In fine weather the establishment expands exponentially into a front area replete with tables, chairs and large umbrellas. Go on, give it a go. It doesn't cost a fortune.

Very welcoming, and were able to bring dogs inside too.. Well located to walker's coming off the Wirral Way and visiting Parkgate. Lovely and warm and cosy and staff really friendly and helpful. Drinks were reasonably priced, and there was a selection of food available if required. Only a small cafe but had a good atmosphere and would certainly recommend to family and friends.

We went here today for a late breakfast. It was perfect, all fresh and I'm thinking local as the quality was spot on and so well cooked. It's a tiny little place inside with a big outside area. They do decaf tea also. It is dog friendly which is amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

What a great little find. We were 3 hungry cyclists looking for lunch and a coffee, we stumbled upon Mozkitos. We were greeted with a friendly, happy smile, served tasty toasties and fresh coffee, we will definitely be back.

Dropped in here for breakfast and had 2 perfectly done poached eggs on toast with black pudding. It was delicious. Great little cafe and dog friendly too. Selling dog treats at the counter.

My wife and I stopped off here for lunch whilst walking along the Dee Estuary. It's a tucked away down a side street, but well worth seeking out. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the great food was served by very friendly staff. Definitely worth seeking out if you are in the area.

My parents recently moved to Parkgate and this is their favourite coffee shop. Visited them last week and we had breakfast here one morning. Good wide choice of traditional and lighter options. Place was "buzzing" (mozkitos - get it?) and really busy both inside and on the front terrace. Parent tell me it's a real community hub and the owner (who was away in Cornwall) merits special mention by them. Young staff did her proud in her absence. I'm sure I will be back!

After been shown this cafe by a friend a few weeks ago, we returned for the third time today, although quite small inside it benefits from a pleasant outside area. We were served quickly by friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. We only had a selection of hot drinks scones and a tea cake, but noted other having what looked like a very pleasant cooked breakfast, something to try in the near future.

All the team at Mozkitos make you feel very welcome, muddy boots, dogs and all. Everything is cooked fresh and they have a great breakfast and lunch menu. Only small but staff are very friendly and helpful to all. Would highly recommend.

The best milkshake I think I've had (frappe)... and my son loved his hot chocolate too. Tasty pannins with nice salad. All good and a nice terrace at the front.

went for the first time with my daughter and grandson. a menu was soon brought to us and we ordered a pot of tea each and pancakes, bacon and syrup for me , a panini for my daughter and fish finger sandwich for my grandson. They brought a baby seat for my grandson(the one you put on a chair and fasten). We were very impressed with our food, nicely presented and very tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff. will definately be going there again.
