I have tried all the pasty shops in Penzance and my tastebuds love the Mounts Bay large steak pasty. I am nearing retirement and I have enjoyed my countdown by getting a MB pasty every two weeks, I can think of no better way of counting down. The pasty is peppery and juicy, just ansom my beuty. You can also get a free cookie or donut with your purchase. Give em a go!

Great prices and service. Clean cafe and friendly staff. Recommend the sausage and egg baps good fillings and a great price. 2 sausage baps and pot of tea each which gave us 2 cups of tea from one pot was under £10. Thankyou will be back again.

A locals favourite lunch stop though you may need to queue to get in some days. Don’t be fooled by the pasty name, which they do do, but they have a wide range of other alternatives in their restaurant. I usually opt for steak&kidney puds whilst my wife has the best Beef lasagne for miles, served with fresh salad and chips for £7.95!

I was walking around Penzance after arriving from London on a sleeper train. Didn't have much time for lunch before my next scheduled activity so I entered this pasty shop on my way as I saw it. Got a large steak pasty at a very reasonable price with a free cookie in their promotion offer! I liked steak pasty in general but had never been too picky for its flavour. The one I had was warm and juicy, quite tasty.

Having first been introduced to Mounts Bay Pasty Company on a previous visit to Penzance, my partner and I decided to pay a return visit to this cafe during our recent nine day visit. The food was as we remembered it - good, simple honest fare, huge portions and excellent value. On each of the four times we ate at this venue, our plates were left spotless. The lasagne was particularly delicious and it was really pleasing to know that it was homemade and not out of a packet. Everything we ate left us feeling stuffed to the brim and satisfied. We only wish there more to choose from. Added to the lovely smiling service we received, this place deserves a big thumbs up.

Had a pasty for lunch today, really spot on. Seems the good pasties stay hot for longer for some reason. Lots of meat in these especially when the competition's products are nearly vegetarian. When I'm in Penzance, this is where I'll be grabbing lunch.

I used to really love the pastys here. But I had one today and I was really lacking in salt and pepper. And was quite disappointed as I used to always be satisfied but I had to add salt every other bite to enjoy the pasty. If they can get there seasoning back on point then right on but probably will not go back

This restaurant does good food always well cooked and very tasty. If you are after simple well cooked food, well presented, good portions then this is the place for you. Today I had Chicken Tikka with rice which was tasty and good value. My wife had a small breakfast which was more than enough for her and again excellent value.

Beautifully presented in the window, these amazing pasties are not to be missed, coming in two sizes - normal and huge (big enough for 2). We took a couple home to reheat and eat later - and they were still beautifully delicious. Not to be missed!

Our second visit this year, both sides of summer, we had the same meal pasty and chips and lasagne salad and chips. Chips are not just chips anywhere as we love them here more than most others.A great basic menu not fancy but varied the breakfast seem excellent value with various sizes on offer the largest at just over six pounds. The staff are lovely this has taken over as our favourite place for the lunch between shopping I cannot honestly think of a single fault at this price, quick efficient service and not pretentious , back soon when down in the west of our county

We were very pleasantly surprised by the menu options. From the outside you think it is just another pasty shop. But they do a range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis and full meals. Myself and my better half both had a jacket potato, and it was throughly enjoyed by both of us. Generous topping, and lovely little side salad. Just enough for a light lunch. Friendly and polite staff.

This place is a little hidden gem! Having been in Penzance for a few days, we stumbled on this place for lunch. It was quite busy and smelled amazing! We got the lunch special of a medium pasty (which are huge), and a Cornish cream tea (tea and a scone with jam and clotted cream) for about £6. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We came back on our last day in Penzance to get sandwiches for the train. They were so inexpensive that when we went to pay, my husband was stunned that two huge sandwiches were only £3.80. A wonderful experience! I'm missing those pasties already.

I've eaten many pasties around the West Country over the years, but this was one of the best, if not the best. tender pieces of steak, with no gristle as experienced in some lesser species, light pastry and a great mix of veg and spices, making it taste as a pasty really should. Can't believe I've never tried one before!!

There's no shortage of pasty palaces and coffee shops in Penzance, but if you want a decent coffee and a decent pasty in the same place the choice is a bit more limited. Perched on the raised pavement going up the main drag through Penzance, the Mounts Bay Pasty Company is an unassuming and unobtrusive eatery part way up the hill. Take-away or eat-in is available and for grub on the go, this is just the sort of place the tired shopper or holiday maker could be looking for.Interior design is nothing to write home about, but the chairs and tables are clean, comfortable and functional. Menu is the usual cafe standard stuff - breakfasts, butties, baked spuds and, of course, pasties and pastries. Staff and service both friendly and attentive. Food perfectly good (especially the pasties) for the money you're paying. The barista coffees are as good as the big chains (and less bitter than some).Ultimately a good, no frills place where you can get a good value-for-money feed for those who like their pasties and love their coffee.

I visited the Mounts Bay Pasty Company with my partner on 27/08/16. The food is really well priced. We bought; cheeseburger and chips, fish, chips and beans, cheesy chips and a shandy - all for £15! The food was tasty and we were very full afterwards! All the staff were great and service was quick. The only downside is that they only accept cash, so I had to go and get some money out however, Barclays bank is just next door with an ATM machine outside - so no big drama.
