I bought coffees, food and cakes to take away, all were delicious and it looks a lovely place to spend some time browsing books.

When you come into a cafe why would you be ignored for nearly 5 minutes. Why would you receive an indifferent welcome. Why wouldn’t they clean the table. Why so over priced?? Why are manners so unimportant. Why not complain directly?? Because after waiting I got a look and a grunt so why waist my time. Just don’t go, give your money to charity and feel good about it, there’s guy’s don’t care about you or your trade

This might be our favourite coffee shop. It reminded us of our time in Nepal. Very relaxed, chilled music, good cake and coffee. Friendly service. There is a small bookshop attached with lots of lovely books. If we lived nearby we would be in every day!

Looked inviting from outside and a bit quirky. Liked the idea of cheese and rosemary slice and cheese and tomato slice. Both were warmed up but very dry. Both disintegrated so glad we had forks but tbh neither of us finished them. Service was friendly. As we had take out we took cakes for later. They were nothing special. Over priced. Would def avoid and go somewhere else

Went here for take away coffee and cake. Person serving was quite abrupt, perhaps she thought older people were stupid?!? Also she seemed a bit 'hard' on the young girl making the coffee, Coffee was not the best and home baking was stale, scone was hard!

I realise that we are living in different times but this place was all over the place! There are no prices anywhere to be seen on the cakes & muffins, I did see something about a vegan cheesecake but no mention of flavour - cheesecake surprise perhaps? On a shelf before the placing you order, is a selection of pre-packaged flapjacks, cookies etc but no pricing anywhere but really we were there for the coffee. Now to be fair the lady serving, kept telling anyone who would listen, that she wasn't familiar with the machine, so maybe we got our coffees on an off day but anyone that likes a good strong coffee should give this place a miss, I'd be hard pressed to say that this was a double shot or what sort of flavour the beans had. All in all decidedly average & at £3.45 I'd expect better.

Staff were pleasant and food did arrive in reasonable time. Where was the management? Presentation was bewildering- see photo. This place should & could be extremely good. We were not the only group trying to work out how to eat an avocado on top on a bagel ( stone in ) with a knife and fork.😂 Great bookshop attached!

Decent coffee and lovely cakes. Pleasant staff. Very COVID secure. Passed it on several occasions hoping to go in but it was very busy, which we took took as a good sign. We certainly weren't disappointed when we eventually went.

I have been here on many occasion sin the past but this was the first time in covid times. Controls and social distancing are well in place and we felt secure. The cafe is quirky and great to sit in and look at all the artifacts scattered around. Coffee is good and scones are huge and good! There is a superb bookstore adjacent to the cafe so you can spend a good deal of time here. Car parking right outside in Strath square is convenient too.

Found on the main street in lovely Gairloch this is a real find. Much love and thoughtfulness has gone into this place. The food and coffee are not only remarkably good but ethical sourced too. The service is slow but very friendly.

Staying at the nearby Dornoch Caravan and Camping site we walked into Dornoch for a meal. We chose The Coach House because it is dog friendly. We received a warm welcome by staff and locals alike along with their dogs. Our haddock and chips arrived promptly and were delicious. However, our Westie started making a fuss. One of the locals and then a member of staff offered to “dog sit” so we could enjoy our meal. Exceptional! Thanks to all involved.

This Country Hotel lacks love and attention. Outside front and sides are very tall weeds, the flower boxes were full of wilted. Car park resembles a quary.. On entering the dining room was well presented albeit I felt it chilly . Only 3 diners and we had to wait to see if we would be accommodated. We were..we sat at our table and the really lovely young server took our order limited menu and 3 choices off that evening.. Food was just OK...not value for money @ £17.95 for haddock and chips. Overall not the greatest.. I'd love to see the outside tidied up and give the hotel some road side appeal

After arriving at skye and looking for places to eat this proved a little difficult as it was out of season and places had limited opening hours. We went for Gabbro bar after seeing it on google maps. The pictures of food looked passable. After getting there having to get our own wipes to clean the table after ordering things weren't looking good, then the toilets were very rundown and like a back street bar toilets. The food then came out in baskets, lined with greaseproof paper. (Something you would expect in a arcade) Fish and chips and the macaroni and chips. Even a plate would have been acceptable even though the fish was clearly out the freezer and very greasy. To top it off a random dog was wandering around trying to smell the food on the table and pushing its way under the table to check for any food.

The fab cinnamon buns elevated our coffee stop from great to awesome! Other really yummy cakes are available. Oh, and the vegan tomato pizza swirl looked great too if you fancy a savoury.

A total shambles. Sunday carvery .couldn't eat any of the meat as mostly fat.Plates so small you can't get much else on the plate.waitress saw me trying to catch her attention and hid .eventually came over sheepish with bill and at that point looked at all the fatty meat on plate and her response was sorry about that .we then never say any staff .They had vanished into kitchen .On our way out there was a lady who had mobility issues annoyed there was no disabled access just a set of very steep stairs .£24 each for 2 courses and only starter choice was soup.Dont waste your time .
