Really friendly chippy and even though the queue was long the girl behind the counter was really fast and took orders down the line rather than wait for each order, like people used to do in the old days! The fish was a big portion and really tasty and the chips were freshly cooked - they gave me a nice cardboard box to eat it in and I sat in my car by the co-op and ate the whole lot. Someone in uppermill told me about this chippy and said it was the best so I drove home via mossley and glad I did I will definitely be back

This is a very good chippy. The staff are always friendly and the food is very good. The shop looks smart and is nice and clean. I’d give it 5 stars but a couple of things are a bit random. Firstly, the portion sizes. Some staff give you massive amounts and the others a lot less. It’s difficult to gauge what size of chips to order! The other thing is the prices. Why is it more expensive for a chip muffin than ordering a muffin and portion of chips separately? It doesn’t makes sense

After dropping my daughter off at Greenfield train station, I fancied some chips. Quick google search led me to here. Decided to walk the 2.3 miles and leave the car in Greenfield. Well worth the walk. Chip Butty (I’m from Yorkshire) was excellent. Added bonus they accept cards as I had no cash. Ate them sat on the wall outside and headed back to the car. I may have just burned off the calories! Great find!

I have coeliac disease which means I can't have gluten in my diet. I was diagnosed almost 30 years ago now. The one thing that I missed was a chippy battered fish. This chippy needs 5 gold stars. They do the best gluten free fish I have ever tasted. Its big, its crispy and its fresh and cooked while you wait. It is delicious. There is also a large gluten free menu that includes about 6 chippy favourites eg potato fritters. If you are gluten free you need to try The Chippy, Mossley you definitely won't be disappointed. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

If you actually smell that food before they even opened knowing the fact they use the same oil over and over again no wonder the food tastes disgusting it smells even worse

This used to be a really good chippy. Went in at lunchtime today, it was, frankly, disgusting. You could taste old, overused oil on the fish and the chips. The fish was not cod, was not fresh and tasted so bad we ended up throwing them away. The peas tasted ridiculously sugary. Such a poor effort and very sad to see. I tried to call them to tell them but the phone number no longer connects. Totally yuk, will never visit again.

We were walking as a family and decided to call in for a few drinks today. We walked in with our children and pup in the lounge area and as soon as we walked in and sat down a young lady came over asking us to go in the other room because we had a dog , a lady was sat at the bar with a dog the bar lady said “shes our regular”. We walked into the other room and then ordered drinks. We ordered a few pints, lime and soda and a couple of J20s for the children, the pint was put into a totally different glass other than what we asked and the lime and soda was flat. So I went back to the bar and asked for a change of drink and got the dirtiest look, the lady then said “what else do you want”, I replied with the “same drink but hopefully the soda is better”. She replaced my drink and then slammed it on the counter and walked away. We was going to eat here but we didn’t want to after the so called special treatment. Not only did we get pushed in another room even though there was dogs in the dining room we never got a service with a smile. We won’t be returning again talk about feel uncomfortable .
