Moss Bakery - Artisan Bakers in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

I have been in a here a few times as work in the area. The customer service is absolutely diabolical in here. Some of the rudest people I have ever met who clearly hate their job so take it out on the customers. The sandwiches are also crap. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Have you seen previous comments. Need I say more. But I will. The lady serving at 2pm on 16 July SHOUKD take a good look in the mirror and ask herself this question.. “why do I work here when I dislike my job and very much dislike my customers” perhaps she will then realise that a job sort of digging holes somewhere or perhaps sweeping the sand in the beach. Unless you wish to be insulted in a cash only joint go somewhere else .. you won’t be welcome here

The attitude of the staff has been terrible the last couple of times I've been here. Won't be bothering again, which is a shame as the food is nice.

Omg the two women serving in there so grumpy especially the one with the pork pie hat we bought some items and got 3 bottles of water out of the fridge which we thought were still but we're fizzy so asked if she could change them she snatched the bottles and said something about the colour of the bottle determined fizzy or not so rude needs to learn some manners.

Went in for a chicken and stuffing baggette, very dry and tasteless hardly any butter more effort required. The meat and stuffing were both very dry and tasteless. Couldn't finish it as I was dry as a bone after 2nd bite.

We chose from a really large range of pastries. We bought sausage rolls, a Camembert tarte which would serve 4. Then scones, rocky road and another cake. The selection made an excellent lunch for my husband, me and my two grandchildren. Then four days later we went in again and got a similar range of pastries for us and my daughter who joined us. Super tasting and very reasonable prices. Well done cooks!

Bought Jumbo Cheese and onion slice, cheese and onion, what little there was of it, was confined to one corner. Bought 4 mince pies - so little filling. Won't be going here again.

Firstly, please note that this bakery ONLY takes CASH! No card payment?! Our 5 pasties were hot and fresh and good value for money. The woman serving lacked customer service. No smile, no hello, seemed totally fed up working there. We heard another couple outside the shop say exactly the same thing. Other than that, a nice little bakery and good value too.

Lovely butchers proper night cakes and good priced sandwiches would definitely recommend going if ever in Hunstanton

It’s the only shop in Hunstanton where customers are queuing out of the shop doorway, sometimes blocking the pavement outside. Speaks for itself doesn’t it?

Bought 2 meat pies + 4 sausage tried sausage rolls first all pastry little sausage could not eat any tied pies found meat inedible bottom of pie soft uncooked.Woman who served me very abrupt and insolent waste of money!!!!

Delicious home cooked quiche and cakes. Perfect spot to pick up a great value lunch for families. and lots of choice.

Disgusting disgusting disgusting. And that’s just the rude staff behind the counter with their grubby fingers. Flies in window over the products which are all mass produced and definitely not ‘artisan’

Called here on the last day of holiday and found loads of treats and goodies to take home and have for tea all of where very nice

“Meat pies” which you can’t tell if it’s beef, horse or a customer they’re fed up. Horrible shabby interior and staff to match. Disgusting should be closed down.

Popped in for a baguette at lunchtime, made fresh to order, super fresh and tasty. Also offers cakes, sausage rolls, pizza slices etc. All very tasty!

Food looks great but no way was I going to deal with the miserable staff member, not helpful at all. Needless to say lost our custom and won’t return. Good luck continuing the business with miss happy

Its great that Moss Bakery is still open and selling its great cakes for locals and visitors despite the lockdown. My eccles cake was perfect while the person who served me was super friendly.

Moss Bakery does a great range of fresh meat and vegetarian pies which cannot normally be found in larger outlets. They also sell a range of other great baked foods including home baked sausage rolls and hot sausages.I also had a turkey and stuffing Baguette to eat while walking around Hunstanton and it was lovely! They are located in the middle of the High Street and always worth a visit to stock up on pies when I am in Hunstanton,

This is a fabulous little bakery to get some lovely treats from, have bought varied pies when visited, never been disappointed. Sausage baguettes are really nice and filling. Great service from ladies every time 👍

Great service and found the quality of the food really nice. Prices are cheap and there is a good range of pies and pastries within.

Excellent shop to buy cakes, sausage rolls, baguettes and hot pies. Always a queue, had a lovely steak pie, reasonable price far cheaper than branded shops such as Greggs. The food to take out is lovely fill up, just what you want when you don’t want a full meal.

This bakery is an excellent value for money. The food is delicious and I can not fault it. I would highly recommend it.

Whilst at Hunstanton on a Sunday,we called into Moss Bakery as we always do. They have amazing pies that are full of meat and also full of flavour, for such a reasonable price I don't know how they do it. And the cakes ---- truly scrumptious. So don't be put off by any bad reports just go and try them yourself. I am absolutely sure you won't be disappointed.

Huge range of food to choose from, tasty food, good customer service. I looked for this bakery as I remember it from when I visited before. Not disappointed, food and service just as good, will return. Also reasonably priced.

I've been to many an Artisan bakery and this is definitely not in the same class as ones visited around the country. The products in the window looked a bit unappetising really but decided to give them a go and try a pasty for lunch. After opting for the pasty and going in I found the lady behind the counter being quite rude/abrupt to the person in front of me, I was quite embarrassed by it all. I found the pasty filling bland but the pastry was okay. I've since read the reviews for this bakery and some people really rate it, but it appears that their staff over a number of years have sometimes been an issue; time they sorted out their customer service before they have no customers to serve!! I won't go back anytime soon and as I live in the area I think it's a real shame that I can't rate my experience higher, but I have to say it as I see it.

We take a packed lunch on our walks so get filled baguettes from here which are great. The cakes are wonderful too.

Since starting work in Hunstanton Alison at Moss Bakery has kept me alive with her lovely lunches which are tasty and excellent value for money. Moss Bakery does a lot for the town and they are incredibly hard workers.

I have worked in Hunstanton for almost two years & I often come here to get my lunch. The food is always excellent quality, excellent value & the lovely ladies who work here are always so helpful. They work VERY hard too. I’m very surprised to read some negative comment about this place, as I would TOTALLY recommend anything from here.

Living in Hunstanton we have popped in here from time to time.When they first opened the lady was lovely and food was good quality and cheap.HOWEVER it has certainly gone downhill ...almost every time -(with the very rare exception)-I have been in over the past couple of years I have been subject to under the breath comments or bad attitude from the ladies behind the counter alongside stale cakes 50% of the time and on occasion stale baguettes,gone off meat on one occasion in a salad box or very little meat in their meat pies.

We were visiting family down south and this place was recommended for delicious cakes. We arrived at 2.15 and I got out of the car with the husband and children. We walked over and My husband opened the door, a lady shouted " get out were closed"... I then asked what time do you open tomorrow? " I don't know, get out" we were then ushered out of the shop! Safe to say we DID NOT return the day after so I cannot comment on the cakes... however the service lost them 4 potential customers! Disgraceful.

I have been alot now and you cannot beat the price and the sandwiches are lovely for £1.50 can't go wrong, and the freshest of salads with LOADS of ham etc. I would highly recommend

We popped in here to buy some cakes as a treat. We bought the Maltesers slice and toffee apple cake both costing £1. Both were sadly not pleasant at all and tasted very cheap and artificial. I suppose the price gives it away but I was expecting something a bit nicer when you hear the label artisan. Unfortunately, we had a bite of each before chucking away the rest. It was very disappointing. I would not go here again.

We regularly shop at Moss Bakery for lovely sandwiches at a very reasonable cost. We couldn’t make our own for the price charged and the selection is excellent. We love the scones and the pies too! Happy to recommend to anyone - the place is always busy, which speaks for itself.

Have just had a week's holiday in Hunstanton with my wife and used this bakery every day . Great food, great prices and a lovely lady who serves. Can't wait for our next holiday.

We stopped in here to buy a couple of pies for a snack and found them to be very stodgy and really they appeared mass produced

Yum! We decided to treat ourselves to a cake whilst having a wander around Hunstanton. I had a carrot cake, and my partner had a huge iced bun with cream in. Both delicious. So much choice it's hard to choose!

Got baguettes here a few times now, we really enjoy them and the sausage roll was lovely too. Do sell out very quickly though .the price is just right and will be back.

Been using them for years, quality, value, service, friendly..cant be beaten, worth a queue in holiday season. Compared to supermarket products these are miles ahead. Meat pies cut in half and frozen provides two meals for two people, huge baguette with an abundance of fresh salad and beef filling £1.50, top notch.

Their cakes are so yummy. Had to go back for more. The tea came in a huge cup. So nice & great value for money. The staff are so friendly & it's nice to get some banter.

Why and how can they want £1 for a tiny jam doughnut,the London cheese cake was dry and tasteless. If your coming from kings Lynn way call in on the new lidl at Heacham better and fresher jam doughnuts for a third of the price.

the smell of cooking drew us into this lovely bakery. Everything is such reasonable prices and so tasty. We shall pop in again on our next visit to lovely Hunstanton.

Everyday i walked past and saw there huge sausage, pickle and cheese plaits in the window. I was eventually tempted to buy some. It tasted so nice, wich i could buy them near where i live. I also bought some cakes and a pie for dinner. Great produce and staff were friendly.

I always find Alison a warm and friendly lady and her characteristics resonate throughout all the food sold. I have lost count the number of times a Baguette is made to order, I find this an exceptional bespoke service.

Good value, good selection. The Bakery delicious, most items £1 each. Good size portions,,,😋😊😉 . Only trouble is they are closed by 3pm..As only seem to be one person running it,!

This is a very cheap bakers thierr filled rolls,sausage rolls and pasties are all very good you only need to join the Q at lunch time to find out a wide range of cacks and hot fillings for rolls are sold no Bread sold on its own

Went to get some cakes while on holiday, fairly expensive but they were tasty. Good selection of cakes and they were all presented well.

My husband and i got 3 meat and potato pies , they was delicious orange chocolate cake , my hubby loved it he said it was really moist. I got passion and peacan cake also delicious, cost £5.00 the pies was well worth a pound each. Dont have a card machine cash only

This is my third visit to the shop and third time being served not in a very rude manner but it brought tears to eyes when I exit the shop. The lady does bit allow you to look around to see what to buy ..god forbid to ask what different pies on sell ate about. After third attempts a x being treated so horrible this morning I must say that unless one improves their customer approach you won't have customers in the long run. I also bought a chocolate orange cake two day ago that was very dry. Very disappointed

This is just awesome, giant filled button rolls £1.50 each, hot or cold, chicken with stuffing, sausages, cakes are very nice too.

We always call in here when visiting Hunstanton. I really cannot speak highly enough of this little gem. Lovely pies and rolls. All fresh and very tasty. The value is amazing too. Excellent simple food at an excellent price. If you are in Hunstanton and want a snack or a takeaway lunch this is the best place to go by far. No expensive and pretentious "deli" food for me- give me good old fashioned taste, value and service every time.

Pies and pastries galore! Tasty, golden and filling. Quick service. Deliciouse aromas for takeaway goodies. Apparently "we are on a diet" so "my management" wont allow us to partake of these delights as often as I would like !

We have visited this lovely little bakery a few times in the last month or so. Lovely fresh baguettes, sandwiches and salad boxes. Very good prices, the cakes always look amazing. The lady will add salad to sandwiches if there isn't any already in the sandwich. Would recommend. Will definitely be returning.

My friends bought a delicious Chicken and Mushroom Pie and a Chicken Baguette which had loads of filling and very tasty.

Visited on the off chance having been tempted by the thought of a roast beef baguette! It was EXCELLENT- and at £1.50 quite amazing value. Highly recommended for a quick snack. Cakes were also great and reasonably priced. 2 baguettes + 3 cakes = £6. Recommended.

Not only are these all fresh but tasty alternative to chips!!! Great to share ! Great for locals and hunny visitors alike.

We stopped off in Hunstanton and passed this lovely bakery on one of the main shopping streets. It had a large queue so we popped back later. Still busy but we could see why when we went in for a couple of hot pies and a piece of cake, Great prices and quality. You can't go wrong.

I have had quite a few products from here and they have been very good.The sandwiches,baguettes are tasty and full of filling, and the pies can be recommended too.

We had been told that Moss Bakery did really good pies, so decided to to give them a try.

Well what can I tell you simply the best pies I have every tasted, so many choices and at a very good price, Oh and the cakes are excellent as well.

As a regular customer, I cannot speak too highly of the quality of service, fresh products and good prices. No need to go to a supermarket when there is a loally run business attracting people to the High Street. I detect some local rival might be posting some of the hostile comments, and I speak without bias as per the rules of Tripadvisor.

The baguettes here are amazing. Great value and full of whatever you fancy. They are always busy so that tells you something.

Always happy with this bakery, prices are always reasonable. Always go there , very clean, even if they run out baggets on the display they will soon go around the back and prepare you fresh one.

The bagettes are reasonably priced and very tasty. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Long queues in the summer.

The hot food section is lovely with all home made pies and pasties amongst other products , very cheap too at a £1 per item . A Good selection of cakes , pastries and filled baguettes to take away. Well worth a visit for a tasty snack at a bargain price .

Great products at low prices this lady gets up at 4am every day 7 days a week to provide a good wholesome products at great prices and would suggest if your passing pop in for a tasty pie pasty or a fresh sandwhich

Popped in for a baguette and piece of cake for dinner...amazing value at £2.50...baguette was piled full of fresh salad and ham, cake was lovely and moist. So much better than prepacked supermarket sandwiches and the cheapest in town too...cheap does not mean the quality either!! Struggling to understand how people can rate this as 1 star terrible but having read their profiles realised two of the ratings were left by the owner and a family member of another business in town who themselves sell sandwiches, pies etc....make your own minds up whether their ratings are a true reflection of moss bakery...

We often stop here if we need a snack when we visit Hunstanton. The selection of baguettes is great and the value second to none. The cakes sold by the slice look amazing but I so far have resisted temptation. I have tried the pies/sausage rolls and can recommend them.

We now go to bakers in the high st Heacham,a nice choice of bread and cakes and savouries,the only problem is finding a parking space.

We stopped int the artisan bakery for a treat when visiting the beach today. The shop is small, but the selection big. There was a wide variety of baguettes and pies, all of which were wonderfully presented. There was also a nice choice is cakes and fruit pies. We had a Bramley apple slice, which was essentially a 1/4 of a deep fill apple pie. The crust was very tasty, with a firm yet soft texture. The fruit was generous in the filling, and perfectly cooked in large pieces. The entire pie has a nice coating of sugar sprinkle. It was really lovely.

Made me feel really good when seeing pies in the window, I opened the door to hear the cook saying 'oh no! No! No! No!' At me. He then appeared and said no again. I presume they were closed, never been in season before so I presume they don't need the custom. Shame as I always used to make an effort to visit but I'll think twice in future.

Fabulous pies with every filling you could think of, large banquettes with choice of fillings for under £2' cakes, scones, sausage rolls, always a queue, so be prepared, but worth waiting for

The filled rolls here are divine, the pies are so full of quality meat they are incredible! The price is unbelievable and he taste out of this world! We travel to Hunstanton to visit this Bakers, and if that doesn't tell you all you need to know. Try it yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Best for takeaway sandwiches etc.we always buy from here for sandwiches rolls cakes steak pies. budget priced very good food always a queue but worth the wait you get so much for your money this is not a restaurant but an excellent bakery.

We have bought various produce from this bakery for the past couple years on a regular basis & can't fault anything....their roll fillings are overly generous, high quality & particularly good value for money.

Recently purchased a static caravan so the pockets are empty. With that in mind it was great to find a bakery that was not only fair on price but the quality was there too. In fact I'd of paid more for the steak pie as it was delicious. A lot of shops in Hunny do overcharge, but you don't so thank you.

fantastic value for money the roast beef baguettes are lovely you must have 1 my little boy loves sausages and you can buy 3 no bread which is great you can feed the whole family for under £10

Best sandwich and take away food shop in Hunstanton. No silly prices like the other place nearby. Highly recommended for good food at a fair price.

This is a local bakery, where they sell what they bake and make on site, therefore their overheads are slightly lower only having to rent one property. More often than not, only one staff member serving, who knows her regulars and always makes polite conversation. It is cheap, yes, but the quality is great. I don't know how they make a profit, but they must. It's not surprising that the lady is often 'fed up' looking - she's tired coz she's up at all hours baking!!! Visit and make your own opinion!

Always saw how busy this little shop was but was slightly put off by the pricing, assuming that it was cheap therefore not very good. However we went in and tried it, over a few weeks we have tried the pies, cakes, baguettes and salad boxes - all amazingly good! We're now regulars, every weekend we stock up on food for lunch boxes and a couple of easy dinners. The best bakery for miles and lovely friendly staff, who could ask for more?

Service excellent value for money fabulous , one person serving and excellent at doing so ,the things this shop do for local charities and national ones are great, ambience of the shop is lovely cannot see how anyone could be negative. I pack my own lunch most days but when I do pop the ladies know my name how I don't know, but they do they are excellent cannot fault great value for money last week I had a salad so much meat was crazy and lovely .I even went in without money one day not intentional not a problem pop it in another day excellent shop excellent staff a credit to Hunstanton , hence the massive queue all year round. There is a saying 'instead of asking why food is so expensive, maybe we should be asking why it is so cheap' Based on other reviews, I thought I'd give this place a try. There is no question that its cheap - a family sized steak pie for £1.50 for example, but I'm afraid I just wouldn't want to eat it, whatever kind of steak is it? The sandwiches are all pre packed with stingy bits of iceberg lettuce and even the staff on the day I visited seemed miserable and unwelcoming . I'm sure that even those of us on a very tight budget could do better than this
