Mo's Kebabs, Burgers & Chicken in Reading

This kebab van on Woodlands Avenue in Woodley is now under new ownership and management.

They had no Chicken or shiesh kebap left and their lamb doner was not even cooking.So it wasnt hot at all.They barely put any meat on there and %75 salad and i ordered every salad dressing and i didn't get any cucember or peper.There was litteraly nothing.The woman didn't know what she was doing. Bring Back the old mo's kebab.

Good kebab and a friendly owner

Ordered a kebab with all salad, extra lettuce, chilli sauce and mint sauce. Got a kebab with no salad other than cucumber (?) And no sauce. Second time it's happened. Strongly advise against ordering online from here.

It was a Monday evening, there were no customers, to be honest there was not even anyone else walking on the road. I was hungry and so me and my mate decided to grab a quick eat. The food in itself was ok, but when my friend asked for a little ketchup, he was denied , even when I intervened and said that we had come all the way from London. Sometimes I think a little bit extra might draw them back in. Especially as we will be going to the area regularly now....he could have had a couple of new customers.

I had a mixed kebab and my friend had a donner kebab last night, neither of us have been able to leave our beds today after eating there, serious health warning

From really good to REALLY Bad don't even bother. Kebabs are the worst

Jaw droppingly disgraceful. As a woman on her own, 'no service'. I'd turned up in work clothes. That shouldn't make a difference. Perhaps a white woman on her own , with her own money is an unforgivable capital crime ? Perhaps, had I come in totally covered two steps behind a man, that would've made all the difference in the world.

I gave Mo's a second chance after persisting with the previous manager for months, who is mentioned frequently in the reviews below. He was a stain on the business and the owner took corrective action – the new guy working most nights is back to level of service you would expect. Last week, however, things became a lot more serious when I was left in crippling pain for two days with suspected food poisoning. Something from the start tasted off. I initially thought they had changed meat supplier, but soon realised the taste was probably warmed up (boiled) rotten meat. My friends have described me as 'trapped in an abusive relationship' the way I often come running back to Mo's for a big hit of his meat, but Mo, I'm done with your rollercoaster. I'm leaving you. For good this time.

Extremely oily, was once a great place, now overpriced and really run down doesn’t taste the same at all.

Ordered via Deliveroo today. Chips were obvs cooked multiple times very dry hard on outside with no potato inside, onion in kebab was literally big chunk’s might as well have just put the onion inside food barely warm. Have always rated Mo’s this is the 2nd time it’s been a waste of money. Don’t bother using this shop

I'm sorry, but a kebab shop that is closed by 10:30 on a Friday night???? When this was Bodrim Grill we could rock up by midnight and get a kebab. Mo's was amazing as a van near Tesco's but twice we have tried to get some food well before the closing time only to find that the Prospect At location is closed. Tonight we walked in to find all the staff sitting behind the counter telling us they were closed. Then they turned off the "open" sign unwilling to serve us. This was at 11pm when your website says you're open until 1:30am on a Friday evening. Very poor :-(

Asked for chicken donner kebab and he told me they only had lamb donner. Fine. They dropped a box with some lamb donner on bread with sauce and asked for payment. I asked for salad and he was really rude saying he said he told me they only had lamb donner. I wouldnt order if they told me they only had some pale meat and bread. Moron. Communicate better and dont get angry at customers. Terrible service. Bring back Bodrum

Just rang to order some food. Absolutely disgusting customer service very rude. Rushing us to order and when we weren’t quick enough told us we couldn’t order here again and hung up! Will never use again.

Food disgusting cold and chicken raw. Went in for a lunch meal to take away. I brought two portions of chips and one can of coke along with a medium chicken kebab. Total cost £18.50 which was unbelievably expensive to me. Avoid this place could understand those prices if the food was to a exceptional standard but this wasn’t even edible oh and the person serving was rude. Wouldn’t waste time in visiting this place ever again.

Very rude member of staff. Went in this evening and asked to guy give us a moment to choose what we wanted from the menu. Staff member was rushing me along and then waved his hands at us and walked into the back. The whole time he was chatting to someone on his phone which seemed more important. Won’t be visiting again and wouldn’t recommend as they clearly have other priorities than serving their customers.

The guy working here seemed friendly enough then gave me a sob story about how he's always working and bills are too much etc. I ordered a chicken burger and chips, with the chicken burger priced at £4.50 and assuming the chips would be £1 or so. When asking for the price, he then hesitated and said £9.... £9 for a processsed (Birdseye) style dry burger and a few chips... Day light robbery! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Wow, Mo knows how to make a kebab or a wrap. He’s a genius. Portions are enormous when you choose all the salad options, so make sure you haven’t eaten for a while. The food is delicious though. The falafel wrap is a great veggie option. Mo even cut off some donner meat to give to my dog =) Highly recommended. But remember to take cash as no cards accepted.

Was freezing cold! Burgers and buns burnt and wrap wasn’t wrapped and all fallen out and forgot all the drinks! Awful food

i ordered at 1pm, and i guess it was the opening time but had the worst kebab ever. The main thing was that the chicken was hard and sauce was a bit off. No wonder the guy said i give u extra chicken my friend. - no thanks went in bin.

Used to love the van opposite Tesco garage. Opening hours on Google say open until 12:00 on Thu. Tried to get get service at 11:30, but closed. Disappointed.

Friday 5th May 2022 @20:52 Order arrived, completely wrong, wrong salad, missing chips. Called for about 15 minutes and finally got through, was told a boss will call me back. Still waiting. EDIT: He literally acknowledged on the phone it was a mistake it the kitchen, then told me to walk 2.5 miles to get a replacement wrap at 9.15pm. Used to go there a lot as a young lad, wouldn’t dream of it again. Absolute state of a place. Happy to take peoples money, doesn’t care about the customers. Contacted Uber and binned. AVOID!!

Omg this was one of the best mixed kebabs I've ever tasted and for value, it was a great portion and I will defo be back for another.

Great service and even better food! Cash only, but there is a cash machine at the Tesco Express on the other side of the road (usually has £10 notes)

I don't normally get kebabs from a van but it was too late for anywhere else. Chicken wrap was pretty good to be fair

Both Mo vans in Reading are great little places (Caversham and Basingstoke Road) best value for money in Reading and can not be beaten, the chicken doner is freshly cooked and not from a rotisserie and there salad is fab, to top it off I also get a free can of pop with every kebab, which I personally think is good customer service

I've used it a couple of times. Very good. Rowdy at pub kick out so avoid then, but a very good kebab or burger and reasonable prices.

Always a good meal, wether ur drunk or not, always get a smile & chat from staff

I visited this van (and it really is just a van) and made a simple request for a little more meat as a substitute for no pitta bread, given I’m gluten-intolerant. This was turned down by the owners. They said the bread was “free”, and refused to provide and alternative to the lack of bread. I urge you to challenge that claim by asking for the bread without paying anything. The bread is *not* free. So they could have catered to my request. They chose not to. Additionally, they hollered to a couple of guys who pulled up by the van, shouting “You alright bro?” Clearly a professional establishment. Given there were very few customer - me and the two “bros” - on a payday Friday, that says a lot about this place. Avoid.

Best kebab I tasted in Reading. Very friendly guys as well. Exactly what you hope for from a street kebab.

After a few beers there is no better place to go in Caversham! Always good food and the boys are a laugh!

Best Kebabs in Reading Good Service

It’s a great place for the wraps and kebab and burger, everything. You won’t regret it. I placed wrong order once, they happily accepted my other order. Great service, some other place would have not cared. Very tasty and filling.

Mostly the food is very nice but as its a popular place to go the waiting time can be bad sometimes. Great place to go on the way home from a night out!
