So disappointed. Dreadful unfriendly service. Chairs were wet and we weren't allowed to use their cushions. The front of shop waitress came out to tell us that she couldn't take our order outside. Wouldn't bring cutlery over to us despite not being busy. Rude, unhelpful, interpersonal skills non existent. She acted like we had inconvenienced her and she was doing us a favour. Will not be returning ever

I visited here for a family member's 30th birthday. I was a little worried about visiting as I have coeliac disease so I must follow a gluten-free diet but I wasn't disappointed at all. I had an afternoon tea set for myself as nobody else was gf but I'm not complaining! :) I had four small sandwiches, egg & cress, cheese & tomato and ham. Side salad and plain crisps. The bread was a bit underwhelming and the cheese & tomato could've been better but overall ok. Enjoyed the egg & cress the most. I had my first ever cheese scone which was lovely, a little heavy but good taste, then to finish a lovely scone with traditional clotted cream and jam. Although the scone was tasty, it did struggle to hold together and was very crumbly. I also had a generous slice of chocolate & banana sponge cake. This was also very yummy and all very filling. The staff were always around to ask for more drinks/teas etc and made sure I got my gluten-free option & another member of the family received their vegan options too which looked equally delicious. I would definitely come back again. Nice atmosphere set in an old cottage-type location. Small car park at the rear plus a small farm shop too.

What a wonderful time we had, it’s a beautiful place. You aren’t seated in a large room as with many places, tightly packed together where it is loud and you can’t hear yourself think. The rooms are small, each having around 4 tables tables, it’s truly quaint, beautifully decorated and comfortable, excellent friendly service and to top that the food is fabulous and excellent value! I couldn’t find fault, it’s all praise, such a great find and I’m grateful to other peoples reviews which brought me here today.

My partner was given a voucher for an afternoon tea as a birthday gift. She believed the expiry date was April 2025 as it certainly looked like that at first reading on the voucher. Having got it out to organise a booking, she realised that it could be April 2023 so contacted the venue to explain. The answer she got back was that they would not honour it as it is only valid for a year. There was no attempt at mitigation or even good grace. I can't speak for the quality of the afternoon teas or the general staff, however, first impressions of how this company operates leave a nasty taste. I would not discourage anyone from using or visiting these tearooms but I would suggest that buying gift vouchers would not be a good idea!

I have visited this tea rooms and always marvelled on how good it is. Today, yet again, the staff went more than was expected and I thought it was time to put pen to paper. I have been as part of a large group and like today, just two of us. We sat outside in the beautiful courtyard and enjoyed our food. They even fetched the dog a clean bowl of water. Cannot recommend this beautiful village tearooms , other than compare it to a five star establishment

Met some friends for breakfast this morning. Been here several times and it's always been lovely. However, I was horrified today, to hear the Manager call one of the staff members in from outside to not only shout at him in front of all the other staff members, but loud enough for all of the customers who were sitting outside to hear. I appreciate that sometimes you need to have a word with members of staff, but surely you take them to one side and talk to them discreetly instead of bellowing at them so all of the customers could hear. The poor boy was only young and if I was his Mother I'd be horrified. Everybody has to learn it just takes some people longer to learn than others and I dont think bellowing and shouting in front of everybody helps. This really upset me and has put me off visiting again.

Comida recién hecha, personal amable y educado. . Oh si volveremos.

Having read the response to the review of one of our group I feel compelled to comment. First inaccuracy from owner is it is not "clear "at all what time particular food is served until, even your staff quoted 3 pm . It was emphasized to them it was just a simple sandwich which a couple of our group would have liked . No offer was made to go and enquiry to the kitchen just told " everything is cleared away already " . So we did enquiry . Unfortunately for you Amanda the review is Very fair and factual. 3 out if the four in our group were very disappointed about several aspects of our visit .The comments made in the original review are in fact diplomatic. The nature of your response is interesting , No apology or acknowledgment of potential room for improvement . Your place is in a beautiful location and is well presented Your food is very nice ( when customers can get it ) But having to ring a bell and be kept waiting to gain access, then instructed to remove footwear. Kept waiting again while space available check, yet ample room once inside. No form of savoury food available an hour and a quarter before you close ( wasn't after a hit meal).for a country side tea room customers are not made to feel particularly comfortable and relaxed . We are local people who walk regularly we will not be returning

As a running group, we had pre booked tables and our group leader expressed that maybe 5 of the group could possibly order full breakfast. When we got there and bearing in mind only 5 other people were in the tea room at that time. we was told that food may be a problem. The majority of us only wanted poached egg on toast and tea, and after some complications, we ordered and everything was fine and dandy. Then, a member of staff ca’e into the room and very rudely shouted at out group leader telling her she was a liar and that she never mentioned anyone wanting breakfast, although they had spoken three times on the phone prior to this. At this point, we felt we could not justify spending our money at a place where their staff have no manners and having taught my children to speak to people how they wish to spoken to, I could not justify eating at this establishment. Working at a top 10 accountancy firm, service is our priority and I am sorry Morton’s, your customer service was truly and utterly appalling. I think you need to have strong words with certain members of your staff.

A group of 15 of us visited today after our run. There was a mix up in communication regarding us having either cake or breakfast which was sorted out and everyone was happy. A member of staff, who had taken the phone booking, came in and was very very rude to a lady, who had made the booking, in our group. It was absolutely shocking and the sort of thing you see customers doing to staff members not vice versa! We left the tea room and didn't eat there as we didn't feel comfortable at all after that. We were then stood outside and the lady slammed the door on us, which is incredibly childish and bad mannered. When leaving a review on their Facebook page they accused some of us of being rude to staff which certainly wasnt the case at all and is totally unfair. I think in future if a big booking is being made then the tea room should ask for the orders to be placed over the phone prior to the visit taking place. It's a shame really asit was my 1st visit and I was looking forward to going there. I certainly wont be returning or recommending.

Found this place by accident. So decided to give it a try. Decided on the afternoon tea. Which wasn’t ordered prior to our arrival, but the proprietor was very accommodating on our request. It was very nice although we had to sit in the garden as all the tables inside were taken up by pre bookings, which wasn’t a problem as the weather was beautiful. I do think there should be some tables that only accommodate 2 as we were sat at a table for 6. But this is only a suggestion. Thankyou once again for amazing cake and attentive service by a lovely polite young man. Who on request erected the parasol over our table. Will definitely be frequenting this tea room again.

Visited today for the first time, the waiting staff seemed to go missing and on two occasions I had to ask for drinks, my first coffee was slopped in the saucer with no apology and I had to ask for a serviette to mop it up. Scones were requested warm but arrived cold. Also I know I'm probably being picky but the young waiter referred to my wife as 'madam' which is fine, but to me as either 'mate' or 'matey' which I detest. It will not stop me visiting again but hopefully these comments will be considered.

........when you first enter the establishment after ringing the doorbell you are welcomed into the home of the proprietor.......there are several different rooms where you can dine all reminiscent of a family home.....which is exactly what it is. Clean, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing you are waited on by the most accommodating staff, your food and drinks are served in beautiful traditional crockery which only adds to the charm of your surroundings. The menu is slightly limited but that is only because this is not a ‘chip butty’ establishment....no.....this is refinement as is the food.....everything served is home made by the proprietor from the most delicious quiche to the amazing cakes and the portions are more than adequate for the hungriest tummy. We opted for the lunch menu of which there is a good range of choices from simple yet unique soups, to tasty and generous paninis and baguettes, amongst other things. All foods are freshly and carefully prepared with much care taken. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free choices available. I opted for the delicious salmon pate with toasted paninis followed by a slice of the Wonderland ginger cake - delicious! The access involved 2 steps with no handrail which made access a little hard for my disabled father. We returned in time for lunch, some of us enjoyed sausage casserole while others had quiche and salad. Both dishes were enjoyed by all! The food was excelllent, thank you Amanda, as was the service by friendly young waitresses in a lovely setting. It won’t be long before we return!

Called in with a friend for a quick pot of tea and a snack whilst collecting their delicious home-made minced pies! They are amazing! Just like my mother used to make. Lovely tea rooms with a personal touch, beautifully decorated and quality cutlery/crockery. Like stepping back in time - quintessentially English! Very reasonable prices too. Absolute delight.

Have visited on a number of occasions. Service is always excellent and the tea rooms takes bookings. This is sometimes advisable over lunch time. The menu is varied and includes lunches, afternoon tea or simply tea/coffee and cake. Well worth a visit and exactly what is needed in this area of Nottingham.

How refreshing to find somewhere like this who subscribe to delivering just what it says on the tin - a farmhouse experience! Wonderful, old fashioned, freshly made afternoon tea. So it took a little time to arrive but worth waiting for as the sandwiches were obviously made to order, no soggy limp bread here, just fresh and tasty. Scones had never seen the inside of a freezer, jam tasted like jam used to taste. Cakes...slices of old fashioned cake, moist and flavoursome. Tea in lovely tea pots and china cups, just how it is supposed to be....lovely staff, nice setting and wow.....is this value for money. Ok so no white tablecloths and silver but I'd take this any day rather than these over inflated prices for wildly over the top afternoon teas that look good on the web page but in reality not. This is the real thing and quite delightful. What a find - pass on the word! Suggest booking though as good news spreads fast. Hope I get the chance to go back one day! Thank you.

Lovely hidden tearoom in the village of Papplewick, quaintly set in stone cottage. Very welcoming staff eager to please and know that are very welcoming and give the customer the time to explain the freshly made dishes and cakes on a tempting menu, including gluten-free options. We simply opted for tea and cakes having just completed a walk though it was served in a way that made it seem like a special occasion - in china crockery along with cotton napkins and various trimmings. All of this at no extra cost. We'll be back. Note - pre-booking is essential and open at weekends only.

Visited with my partner in Dec - the tea rooms are really lovely - the home-cooked food and tea were delicious and served in china crockery by welcoming and friendly staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moretons Farm tearooms to anyone

Called into Arnold and decided to treat ourselves to a cooked breakfast, so dropped into Front Street Café, just up from Asda. Ordered the classic breakfast with a fried slice at £6.50. It was very tasty, not greasy, lovely sausages, and a great portion. And the tea was especially nice, which isn't always the case in some cafés. The café soon became busy as it was already lunchtime. The interior was welcoming, clean and inviting, with a friendly lady serving. Will definitely call in again when next in Arnold Centre, based on our experience today. (The only downside, and hence only 4 stars, was the condition of the toilet, which needed some serious attention.)

Went here for a Saturday afternoon snack with friends. Food was excellent - all home cooked and very tasty, staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food. Not often I would leave a review for a local pub but the Robin Hood is well worth a visit - will definately return. Thank you for the lovely food and being such nice friendly people

Very disappointed. Went when first re opened after being closed for a while and the food was excellent. Today we decided to go for evening meal, portions were small, peas served in tiny pots the fries were over cooked, the meat pie was dry inside. Fish goujons not good quality and not like the ones we had when pub re-opened, these were just cheap fish fingers. The food is expensive and not worth the money. It is also very noisy and not a pleasant environment. Will not go again. We were so happy that the pub was serving good quality food when it re-opened but it has gone down hill. Staff were polite and helpful but seemed to not know what they were doing.
