I have visited Morton’s on many occasions & it has mainly been very good but the last couple of visits today in particular have been quite poor. The service today was not the best & the food below average. We ordered 2 pizzas & one fries, the fries were cold & had to be returned & so did one of the pizzas. The fries were brought out quickly however the pizza took ages it was then brought out with no apology for any inconvenience at all. The girl who had long brown hair tied in a ponytail in fact slammed down the pizza on the table, we were quite taken back. I had finished my meal & the fries that we ordered between us to go with the pizzas had been finished due to the long wait. When leaving the restaurant we were asked if everything had been ok I said it wasn’t the best & explained what happened & she just said sorry to hear that. I do feel considering we basically ate separately some kind of discount should have been given for the inconvenience & for good customer service. Very disappointed & will not be in a hurry to revisit. Just because Morton’s is popular doesn’t mean they shouldn’t look after their customers & give good customer service.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. So cosy, so friendly and with such top quality food. We regularly come for breakfast with our children and always leave happy with the food, atmosphere and service. You won’t be disappointed!

Whether for a tasty breakfast or lunch would highly recommend. We were pre-warned there might be a short wait for breakfast, but they sat us down had our order and served very quickly. Polite and courteous staff, and the food was excellent. Full cooked breakfast was nicely filling good quality meat products, well presented and the beans were clearly not your average heinz, they were butter beans in a slightly herby tomato sauce clearly made on sight and added something special to an already excellent breakfast. Wife had the buttermilk pancakes and we both had fresh coffee and fresh crossaint available when we came in, cannot fault the cleanliness and I can only gripe that the car park is small, but you have space to park on the high street if it is full. We went for an anniversary breakfast as I drive past sometimes and was curious. Will definitely be going back with family possibly for Sunday lunch.

Mortons is a lovely place, whether you sit inside or outside, and the staff are really pleasant. We have been plenty of times and will return. The reason for the lower rating is because we feel that it needs a few tweaks to the lunch menu and the food: 1.) The lunch menu is geared predominantly to the larger plate / appetite. It would be great to have a handful of simple quality sandwiches to choose from as well, e.g. tuna, local ham and cheese with a touch of salad, but WITHOUT chips. 2.) I had a margherita pizza. Well made but completely overpowered by garlic which was the only lingering taste, not the tomato and cheese. I have never had that much garlic in a simple margherita before, even in Italy. Didn't enjoy it. Please keep the ingredients simple and tasty. 3.) Please keep some teabags in. We don't all like the taste of brewed loose leaf tea. 4.) Breakfast is great. Certainly worth going.

Really wanted to try Mortons after 2 people recommended it. Sadly disappointed, with the service and food. I chose a dish which was served on a board, unfortunately the salad just fell on the table because there wasn't enough space on the board to eat it. I requested a side plate. The grilled chicken was over cooked and dry. The flatbread was stale. My Aunts meal was okay, however the accompanying vegetables / green beans were undercooked. The waiting staff did not come to the table to see if everything was to our satisfaction or if we needed anything else such as a dessert or further drinks. I didn't see them go to any table to do a check during the time we were there. Very disappointing visit, I wouldn't go back. Shame because the Bistro was designed really well.

Arrived today at approx 11-15 just as a couple in front of us were being seated and waitress kindly advised I’ll just seat these a be back in a minute. Staff passed back in front of us for a further 10 minutes each time we were either ignored or staff advised will be with you shortly, finally after standing for 15 minutes we were advised we are now full . Astonished to be left for this long to then be told you were full with no one else arriving? Third time now turned away and this time was unacceptable to be advised after a long wait, we will not be back.

Service was awful when visiting for breakfast. We decided to sit outside, and was told it would be about a 10 minute wait as they were running abit behind. Half an hour later we were still waiting to be served, when we pulled someone over they said we weren’t on their list of tables. We ordered a latte with a milk alternative due to an intolerance, when the drink arrived we asked which one was the alternative and was told it’s not, as they don’t have any. After then we finally managed to order and receive food, it came with bits missing which we then had to ask for. Finally, when we asked for the bill we were forgotten about for another half an hour until we got bored of waiting.

A great spot for some brunch. A varied and healthy menu and a good atmosphere. Enjoyed the outdoor seating on a summers morning.

I visit this spot at least once a week I love it so much. Staff are attentive, atmosphere impeccable in all seasons and the food is really one the best in Leicester!

Always a nice spot for coffee or a meal, nice tables inside and out. Good service always, but always seems to be an issue switching from breakfast to lunch menu, and the menus don’t change very often but one of the places around.

Six of us had a "just what we wanted" light lunch at this small, characterful cafe, tucked into one of Market Harborough's historic "yards". Two had the excellent tomato and basil soup, served with a ciabatta roll; two had a delicious ciabatta roll (one gluten free) with cream cheese, figs with a touch of honey and pistachio nuts; one had a bacon-filled ciabatta roll and one had a fruit scone. We all enjoyed our lunch, and the two staff were very helpful. We thought we had made a very good choice out of the numerous options in the town and would definitely go again.

Called in today for our first visit. Received a warm welcome from staff members and were able to be seated as although it was busy lots of people had chosen to sit outdoors. Chose a carvery and we weren't disappointed, choice of 3 meats all cooked beautifully, nice choice of fresh vegetables. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and you weren't bombarded by staff as soon as you started eating asking if it was alright. We were approached but had at least had a chance to have eaten some of the meal! Will definitely be returning here again.

Christmas Carol event. Owners totally reneged on their promise of mince pies and mulled wine. Didn't even turn up to greet the singers. Very poor impression

Many of my friends have raved about this restaurant and we had never been. So after realising it was closing, we just had to book. It was not what we expected - bright lights and bare tables. Not our thing. The arrival greeting was ok but not special and no explanation or interest in us as 1st timers. The food was good and very tasty but it was expected at the price. The wine choice was a different matter. We order one red and one white, not cheap. The white wine arrived by a very young waiter who poured the wine with no option to taste and it was NOT cold. Unbelievable! When asked why it was not cold he said there was ice in the ice bucket. Not a good start to the meal, The waitress leaned over me every time to serve my friend and they didn’t offer new cutlery for each course. Maybe they have lost interest now it’s closing, very sad as we had heard such excellent reviews.
