Morro Lounge in Richmondshire

Parking right outside on the market place and flat entrance. Warm welcome to this large establishment. Decided to have our evening meal here after seeing the menu and were not disappointed. Good food and good service. Will definitely go again.

Food is sometimes hit and miss but the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is great. The kids love the children's area which has board games, crafts and sometimes a hunt around the bar.

Really nice place and friendly staff. Spoilt a bit by the fact the music was really loud despite asking to turn it down twice. Still lovely drinks and nice staff.

We love The Morro but today's visit was disappointing... our food took ages even though it wasn't that busy....our server forgot our cutlery and then forgot that she was getting it for us....and it was cold as people were using the outside area for a smoke and we were by the door. A shame really as we hadn't been in for a while.

It was a Monday night (16th Sept) and it was quiet, but the manger on that evening was very attentive and we had two lovely meals that were served quickly.

Premium prices for cold food which would have been good if served hot. Won't be in a hurry to go here again.

Not my favourite place to eat , but my partner is gluten intolerant and is well catered for . I ordered the breakfast which on a whole is ok , I swapped the hash browns with my partner for her tomato. But I’m constantly disappointed with the wafer of black pudding. I once paid for extra and asked to just get one decent slice , but instead I was served 2 wafers of black pudding. Edited to add that despite the General manager requesting I contact to discuss this ( which I did ) I have had no response from them after a week.edited to add still no response after 4 weeks . Received an email from the GM after 4 weeks with an apology and an assurance that the portion of Black pudding I had received on several occasions was not company standard. Apparently it has been raised with the chef and from now on everyone will receive a proper slice of Black pudding. I was also given a £30 voucher so I might just see how much Black pudding I can get for that So I received a voucher and the email I’ve added , along with a picture of today’s Black pudding ration . As you can see the portion is no different to any other time I’ve been there . I spoke to a former chef who worked at the lounge in Ripon and he confirmed that a wafer is not the company spec. So why do the Morro lounge continue to serve this pathetic portion?

This is a great venue in the heart of Richmond. Built in an old bank (I believe) it has tried to retain as much of the old decoration as possible while adding more interesting décor with numerous paintings. The acoustics can be a bit overwhelming when it is busy as it is a very large building. This however does not distract from the good food and great service. having been to Richmond many times this is my venue of choice for a meal and/or a drink.

Was OK albiet service seemed very slow considering not even half full and my wrap seemed a little bland. Staff friendly and nice atmosphere.

Went for breakfast as we usually do when in Richmond. I have read some of the negative reviews and can't agree with any of the criticism. The staff are always very welcoming, the food is superb, my wife is a vegetarian and she really enjoys the veg breakfast. The price for two breakfasts including coffee was better than reasonable, we had breakfast at a large hotel we stayed at just a few doors up last year the breakfast was almost twice the price and was of very poor quality compared to Morrow Lounge. We will always use Morrro lounge group restaurants where available.

Visited a couple of times whilst staying in Richmond. The first visit we shared a sandwich with sweet potato fries which was massively disappointing with hardly any beef on it and it was badly prepared with what little meat there was, only on one half! Second time we just had drinks and were served quickly after placing our order on the app via QR code on the table.

We went for a coffee and cake and we were told the cake was lemon drizzle when it arrived it had raspberries in it ,we told the waitress that we didn't think it was lemon drizzle she said that's how we make it .I also said we were not asked if we had any allergies luckily my husband saw them just in time and gave it to me as he has a fruit allergy. I tried it and could not taste the lemon whatsoever we told the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders and took the cake away .it was the worst cake I've ever tasted !!!!!

My 1st ever visit here was lovely, I have nothing to moan about for no real reason!. Your staff are very caring towards customers especially with me and my little old cucumber allergy, my server went out of her way to make sure I was safe which I thanked them for. The food was delicious and a decent amount too. Therefore I thank you very much for your hospitality.

We go here regularly. The food is always okay and definitely value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and decent relaxing music. It’s well decorated and just a nice place to go for a relaxing drink or food. Very child friendly too which helps

Me and my husband booked large table to hold a brunch for our bridal party at Morro on the morning after our wedding. The team were nothing but accommodating and made the final moments of our wedding weekend perfect. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, the food was incredible and to top it off they had surprised us with flowers and fizz to congratulate us. A special and thoughtful touch that I am so grateful for. Thank you all for our wonderful bridal party brunch!!! 🤍

Converted old HSBC bank located in the Market Square. Ate here on several occasions now and the food is usually top notch, until today. My wife ordered a Persian Lamb Flatbread. When it arrived it was quite obvious that the flatbread had been left under the grill far too long as it was rock hard. She even tried a steak knife, but was still unable to cut into it. Staff informed and the meal was replaced. Any chef worth his salt would never have allowed this to leave the kitchen. Also the person who plated it up must have been well aware that the flatbread was rock hard, but plated it up anyway. 20 minutes later a new meal for my wife arrived meaning that she ate it alone as I had finished my meal long before. Very poor and disappointing.

Visited a few times, a popular choice for a catch up. Nice surroundings, good value food. Varied menu, difficult to choose every time! Relaxed atmosphere, find yourself a seat and order at the bar or on the app. This former bank has a wide area of seating, its easy to be in a feel it very quiet as you can spread out so.much from.other visitors at quieter times of day.

Nipped in for a quick bite on a Wednesday evening and wasn't disappointed. The staff were friendly, and my burger arrived quickly and was delicious. Definitely recommend 👌

Went for brunch, walked in and was glared at by the 20 odd year old manager. Who seemed irritated to be doing her job and did not seem to know what customer service is! Got my drinks order wrong and was very rude about it. Seems I am not the only person to think this.. The rest of the staff looked absolutely miserable, however I'm not really surprised. Food was good, but will not be returning unfortunately. I can honestly say I've never been anywhere where the manager is so sulky and rude. I'll be complaining straight to the head office as the generic response from the manager on here is irritating.

After finishing my evening shift at work I visited morro Lounge, the tapas I had was really nice and I was still hungry so I ordered a dessert, which I was looking forward to… I ordered a sticky toffee pudding and it come cold and with raisins and wasn’t the best as it basically tasted stale. I also ordered a drink and that didn’t come. I went upto the bar after and explained what happened and got RUDELY refunded my drink but not the dessert that was not worth the money. Won’t be going back, one very rude manager… some people have good hearing so next time be mindful of what you’re saying on the table when your having your ‘break’ when a good paying customer is right infront of you…

Nice food at this place. Went for brunch and had a lounge breakfast and the pancakes with maple syrup. The coffees are really nice here too. All good.

Former bank, quirky but welcoming decor. Called in for a drink mid afternoon whilst on vacation. Ordered at the bar, 1 x coffee, 1 x milkshake. Unfortunately my partner had finished the coffee before my milkshake had even arrived. Would visit again, if only to see if food service is better, daredevils that we are 😆

Ordering a nightmare. You have to either use the app which is ignored or order at the bar. I was happy to spend £100 between me, my wife and a 12yr old to get basic tapas evening meal. The app is horrendous and simply gets ignored. Your other option is to order at the bar. Either isn’t acceptable when paying this kind on money for decent food. Waitress service required. Our drinks completely ignored. As did our deserts.. if we didn’t go to the bar 40mins after desert order, they wouldn’t have had a clue. Shame, as food was great. Just get some table service and would be superb. Who wants to go to a decent food place and sit on your phone to order food?? Especially when it gets ignored.

Service horrendous due to ridiculous ordering options. The preferred option was the App… firstly, I’m happy to spend £100 for me, the wife and our child for dinner. But I don’t want to spend our time on the phone. However, we bought into the idea and did so. The app was completely ignored… the place was empty, they was wandering why we didn’t have drinks…. The app… the desserts, after 40mins waiting, we asked at the bar…. They had no idea we had ordered. The other option is order at the bar. We are paying £100 for normal food… I don’t expect to order at the bar. Simple table service would have sorted the issues. The food was great. Ruined by the basics.

Lovely venue for Richmond, keeping some old bank features. Meals tasted like fresh ingredients well cooked. No draught real beers only keg lagers and cider. Tempranillo garnacha excellent Called in for excellent Sunday breakfast, lovely food and great service. Dog friendly too.

Ordered by my phone and asked my to tip before my food, drinks or anything else had happened? I'm sorry I'm not paying a 10% Tip on almost a £70 order before it's came. I've been shown to a table and I'm asked to give a £7 tip. Shame really because the food was quite nice, and so was my cocktail

Very good stop in Richmond for anyone passing through. Well set out and great menu selection. Got the Chicken Ciabatta which was really good but disappointed it didn't come with anything else considering it came in for under £11. Easy yo order and laid back place with friendly service.

Found this place online last night when looking for somewhere for breakfast on Sunday morning. Lots of parking outside with no restrictions on a Sunday. Large disabled bays right outside the door. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our food arrived very quickly and looked and tasted lovely. Vast choice of foods and they cater for gluten free and vegans. Help yourself to fresh chilled water on the bar. Dog friendly with dog biscuits on the bar. Ramp out front and wide doorway ideal for anyone in a wheelchair or scooter.

Fabulous place, we called early am. Staff fabulous and friendly, decent good food.. All gd here. Thank you.

Certainly recommend this shot. Pancake ??made with Frangelica..the taste was very nostalgic. It took me back to when my kids were still at school and making pancakes for them.

Such a lovely atmosphere here at morro lounge. such a nice place to eat or drink and is so lovely to have something so quirky and different to eat or drink at in Richmond. Me and 3 other friends came here the other day to have some lunch, we were greeted by a lovely young lady who was a member of staff who straight away sat us down and ran us through everything we needed to know. We ordered food and within 10 minutes the food came. We were over the moon with how quickly the food came but also how delicious it was!!! Such friendly staff and great service and not to mention the gorgeous food! Will definitely be visiting here again!!!

They didn't have some options on the menu. Ended up ordering the steak for £19.95 and it was small. Lady behind the bar dropped a tray of drinks and spilled it all over me. Then blamed me for it!

Great building nice decor food great, service leaves a lot to be desired. We were not told it was bar service and not table service so we waited and eventually we did attract a passing waitress, we both agreed another member of staff would be a plus and a less laid back attitude otherwise a good place to eat and drink

Had a few drinks here for the very first time on our visit to Richmond. Had been lovingly transformed into a lovely restaurant from the old HSBC bank. Very quirky. Also dog friendly too.

Great place to grab some food and a drink with friends or family. You can order at the bar or with a QR code. We often have burgers, which are very tasty. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for food to arrive but it's cooked fresh. Serve food all day unlike some places. It's large inside and has an outdoor area. Plus books and games to entertain. Great indoor decor. Cosy and practical. Expect a hike to the toilets unless you are able to use the disabled ones.

Called for a small snack was very happy with what we had

Beautifully converted old HSBC bank ( shame about the bank ) Nice eclectic decor inside which gives plenty to look at should one’s companion be boring ! Very busy but staff member greeting and directing to empty tables. Difficult to clear tables quickly enough but that is understandable in a busy service. We had a bottle of Malbec and shared the tray of 3 extremely tasty tapas served efficiently and in friendly manner in very good time at a very reasonable price. We personally would prefer no dogs ( at least they were not on laps as often in France ) but understand in this area why that might limit foot fall. This was our first time here having explored most of Richmond’s eateries. For a casual lunch it was ideal and we will definitely return .

Popped in for drinks and as usual the staff go above and beyond to help even just for two drinks! Always polite, helpful and friendly. Welcoming to our dog which we love. Have had food here many times and it has always been to a high standard. Impressed with their treatment of gluten free and they have an extensive GF menu. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area as they can cater to couples, families, allergies and dogs; so got all areas covered!!

Disappointing cos the place looks nice from the outside, only 2 staff on when quite busy so queuing at the bar. Saw a guy use his hands to fill a glass from the blender, YUK. Scruffy floors and tables.

You dont get a lot for your money. A tiny burger and a cup full of chips for 18 quid +. Mine was nice but my partners steak fright was like rubber, and the salad was just lettuce. They provided her with something else and refunded the difference, but we won't be rushing back

Great food, service and environment. Accommodated us for our staff xmas meal. and although there was only 5 of us, were gracious enough to reserve us a table until everybody arrived. Who I can presume was one of the managers gave a fantastic and friendly service throughout, as well as throwing in great banter delivering a brilliant experience. All of us were impressed and will be back again!

Really good food, nice service and super friendly staff. Have been a few times and enjoyed the quiz nights in particular. Unfortunately always a bad drain smell though which spoils it. Have seen other reviews stating this and that it has been fixed but definitely hasn’t which is a shame

We stayed for hours on Saturday and had a lovely time. Johnny was particularly great 👍🏼. Grab the sofas if you’ve got kids with you, lots of space and really comfy.

Family friendly modern pub in heart of Richmond. Attentive staff, easy and good service, tasty food with menu which caters to whatever you fancy from small to large dishes, healthy to weekend treats.

A beautifully maximalist-style decorated restaurant, quite surreal to see if you ever used the bank that it used to be. If you love art you’ll love the walls in this place! Very attentive and friendly staff. They made my vegan daughter’s 18th birthday meal so lovely, with complimentary drinks. The food is always great here. I recommend Rose’s truffle chicken, which is delicately fragrant and rich. We’ve just discovered that Morro lounge do matcha lattes, and they are far better than the ones you can get at a certain green logo coffee shop. Thanks so much to the staff and chefs for a great time, every time 🙂

Great place, DOG FRIENDLY and lovely food. Offered loads of Gluten Free options too. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was a real feel good eat! I'd return to this place time and time again when visiting and if I see any of their sister establishments on my travels I'll be stopping off there too!
