Morrisons, Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire

Having had good meals over a few years we went for lunch after a break of about five years. What a difference a year or two makes, ordered 2 fish and chips, waitresses came and told us there was no large fish , we changed order to 2 mixed grill. Food arrived with mushy peas instead of garden peas, the gammon was almost impossible to cut and the black pudding dried up. Not the place it used to be , will be a long while before we return.

Messed order up didn't order sausages but got them anyway The yolk of the egg was cold and clear and the hash browns weren't cooked inside

I had sausage and mash today, I can honestly say it was the worse meal I have ever had . We waited a long time and when I asked an assistant to check on my order she came out with it straight away and was quite sarcastic saying we allow 15 miniutes its been 16mins. Very sarcasticly. The sausages were the most basic of quality inedible.

Total waste of money, fatty bacon, cheap sausages,fried bread was to thick, mushrooms looked liked they had been boiled in water. Don't like the way you order the breakfast, only good thing was the tea.

Appalling, half the menu not available, 45 minute wait on what they did have, tables not cleared and dirty. Family on the next table were brought two meals out and then told that the children's meals were not available because they had no baked beans - It's a Supermarket and they don't have beans? Burger arrived with cheese despite requesting it to be without, when ordered. Festive chicken burger arrived without the "dipping" gravy. The burger was dry and cold, the chips were cold. The whole festive burger meal was dry and cold I would have complained normally but seeing how the manager was totally disinterested in the complaint from the family on the next table it wasn't worth the effort Stay clear

Morrisons cafe Laceby Grimsby We ordered small breakfasts expecting to have them served at a reasonable time. 45 minutes later we still hadn’t received them. I asked at customer service desk to see the manager. They never appeared. After almost an hour we were served. Meal was ok the Wait was inexcusable. We were not warned it would take the best part of an hour.

Worst ever no hot water for tea no tea pots no salt no sauces for breakfast no serviettes just a old roll of kitchen towel staff very unhelpful and hardly there didn’t open until 8.15am and they charge you as well for a terrible service with undercook bacon nice well done Morrison won’t be coming back

Called in today whilst shopping. We ordered two sandwiches,one prawn one egg, both came with a small packet of crisps and two coffees which came to approx £10. The sandwiches were bland and tasteless. The egg did have a little bit of cress with it which gave it a slight taste! We added pepper and put the crisps in the sandwiches to try and help them. We had one mouthful of the coffees and I really don’t know how to describe them - boiled coffee coloured liquid that tasted disgusting. We left the coffee and I’m sure we would have left the sandwiches if we didn’t have the crisps and packets of pepper. Tasteless, bland and a complete waste of money.

Terrible 1/10 food was rubbish ordered veg breakfast got VEGAN when questioned it she TOLD me iv ordered it then brought me a egg on side…don’t go

Today 30/8/2022 I arranged to meet a friend for lunch at “ Morrisons cafe” I arrived first and first of all I chose a table, I then went over to look at the menu board at the entrance, I saw on offer was “ cream tea for one” priced £2.99 comprising of sandwiches,scone jam, cream and butter and a pot of tea , I approached a friendly looking member of staff to ask about the “ cream tea” and was politely told it was available at anytime and was good so having took this advice I ordered this and found my seat to wait, whilst sitting down at my chosen table, I observed how extremely busy the cafe staff were and remarked at this to the member of staff on the till who took my order, I asked if they were short staffed and she informed me that one member of staff was on a break so they were short at that time , I remarked I had noticed how busy they were and was surprised that a more senior member of staff (management) ! She then told me that one of the managers was in the cafe obviously having a break , I noted who he was and when rose to leave I had a word, informing him I had previously worked in catering and could see how stressed 😩 and busy the “ cafe” staff were, I also informed him I did write reviews on “ Tripadvisor” quite often , that I was delighted with the food and the “ cafe” staff however somewhat dissapointed that he being a “ manager hadn’t stepped up to help elevate the problem, as customers were moaning to the staff but I could see that the staff were doing their best and getting the brunt of the moans for waiting which wasn’t the staffs fault , I also informed him that it’s extremely difficult to find good staff and if you weren’t carful you would lose the excellent staff you have , which to me is very sad , however to add insult to injury the manager then went into the kitchen to ask the staff in a nasty way “ what was going on “! I think he thought I knew the staff and was trying to stir up trouble! I can tell you now I am new to the area and know hardly anyone in this area having moved from Leicestershire, please speak to this manager , he shouldn’t speak to good staff like that and to sort his attitude and communication skills out himself 😡

Called into Morrisons cafe, for our tea wished we hadn’t bothered now. We ordered the Fish,Chips and mushy peas and my Boyfriend had a Burger. We waited for ages for our meals to arrive, Finely when the food arrived ,the mushy peas were so dry and the fish was terrible. We definitely won’t be going back there again.

Went for a coffee and cake after doing the shopping. The poor ladies cleaning the tables were also having to do the serving and the cooking. Used to like it in here but since the lack of staff the place has gone somewhat down hill. This is NOT the fault of the ladies working there, they were doing the best they could. IT NEEDS MORE STAFF!!

Decided to go for a breakfast with my partner today on a sunday and the cafe was so dirty, the tables was filthy had other people's food left on them, food on the floor. We picked a table but had to ask the lady if we could move to a clean table as it was disgusting. She told us that we can but the waitress probably won't know which table we would be at. It got to the point we're other customers was grabbing spray and cloth to clean their own table. If the cafe was in that state then i couldn't imagine what the kitchen was like...i dread to think.

Great customer friendly, called in today we met a friendly lady Sarah in the bakery. She came to my aid and was very respectful and polite.

So disappointed, we used to be Friday regulars for a great brekky... oops not anymore.Our first visit in over a year was awful ! Firstly the guy serving was slower than slow.Then trying to create my own breakfast i was told NO fried bread ?? NO tinned tomatoes ?? Always were available pre covid !! Then when plate arrived beans were cold,mushroom hardly cooked, fried egg burnt and crispy on edges.Toast arrived one slice per pathetic stainless bucket ?? Bucket yes a bucket 👎.We had ordered 2 brown & 3 white toast SO got 5 buckets with a single slice in each, what the hell ??Then we had to watch food going even colder whilst waiting for sauces and attempting to butter our toast with hard butter portions.SORT YOUR CAFE OUT !! Not returning for the forseeable future.. what a shame it has gone so bad.I feel sorry for Sandra & Jackie who were the best in tbe " good old days" whdn you hot what you wanted with heated food and a great friendly welcone/service.

What on Earth has Happened To The Morrisons Breakfast , We always came here as it was good value for money and fresh and plentiful. Since thing is have started to reopen we have called here twice and been disappointed on both occasions . One Dried Large Mushroom on the plate , Black pudding ring that you could use as a Door Wedge the bacon I sent back as it was Shriveled to Death and only 1 slice . There's no fried bread on the plate now and in general you can tell that any pride on serving this food out has gone way down. We paid around £14 for 2 Brekkies and 1 tea. It's such a Shame cause Morrison Breakfast were well talked about but by judging on the recent reviews along with mine I think something has gone seriously wrong at this branch.

So disappointed with the cafe. Menu has been decimated from what it was before shutdown. No staff at till had to wait 5 minutes for someone to take our order. When food came we had to ask twice for knife and forks. Food was certainly not hot either. No wonder cafe was empty apart from us and a couple of other tables.

Always look forward to a breakfast in Morrisons but after today I don’t think I’ll return. Food very average but very expensive. It’s a shame really

Absolutely terrible as not enough delivery vans to cope. I was told they have x11 vans when another supermarket for example has 30/40! My deliveries have come 4 hours late or the day after with no message advising me of this at the time. The substitutes are appalling, my dog food was substituted for cat food, I don't have a cat! That is just one example. This week I ordered x2 cucumbers, they were both wet and rotten. There is always a lot missing and substitutes so I have to go shopping somewhere else in the week, it is so frustrating and not right. Why have the items on the website when ordering and give the pickers better training, for starters. In the store the social distancing is not adhered to and it is practically impossible to get a member of staff on the fresh bread counter. I would not recommend this store at all.

Shocking really shocking had to ask 3 times for milk the lady serving me forgot to send me the milk in a jug I had to ask another member of staff twice for milk for my cuppa not many people in at all but to ask three times for milk it's not really good enough. Cuppa was nice and hot but no milk on the side and I'm not happy asking three times for milk

Morrison’s advertise that they are doing the eat out plan every day but what is the point when most things on the menu are off because they’ve run out. Sorry but isn’t Morrison’s cafe inside a Morrison’s supermarket? There wasn’t many people in the cafe but nearly every table had plates etc. Left on them, there was staff working but don’t know what they were doing, definitely not clearing tables

Never again it's a health and safety hazard came here for breakfast and left to deal with clean mugs cups tables folks spoons knives and other things breakfast was ok but it was just the cleanliness of the cafe it is a health hazard. I have complained before about this lack of clean tables and mugs cups and other things nothing really have improved at all. Tea wasnt very nice at all very weak and it took over 10 mins to be served really terrible experience it really was never ever again

This is not for the cafe as I don’t use it anymore because it’s so dirty, can never find a clean table. The actual shop is terrible the milk aisle smells all the time especially in the evening and don’t walk past the bakery if you don’t like smelling bleach which am sure is not allowed as it taints everything. Stock rotation is terrible on chilled products , I have actually stopped shopping there. Now petrol station make sure you have plenty of wet wipes to wipe the bottom of your soles when you have peeled your feet off the floor as it’s that sticky.Very poor management.

no fish and chips infact they had run out of most meals just had list at side of till what was left dirty tables floors .

The food is very tasty,always cooked perfectly too.We regularly have a breakfast here and Jackie & Sandra in particular are excellent,aling with other staff.No complaints on service,we cannot fault the friendly welcome every week.Keep up the fab atmosphere 👍👍

Having visited tonight at 4 pm for some fresh salad I was disappointed to find it was like old mother hubbards cupboard and the shelves were completely bare. Might be local but perhaps I need to go farther and visit Asda/Tesco and at least get fed tonight

My dad invited me to have hot chocolate & cake good catch up after I did my shop in morrisons so decided to have mint chocolate Christmas tree cake wasnt that hungry it was small but I didn't expect to find long hair inside it made me feel instantly sick so I took it bk had to wait least 20 mins to complain coz there was no one around shocking services when he asked me if wanted another 1 I looked at the cake most the cake was open out of there wrapper just told him to take it away disgusting sort it out Morrison I won't be visiting the cafe again no need poor services!

I have complained about the lack of hygiene before and I am again. The cafe still lacks hygiene ( I don't use it , but still aware of it ) The pizza's the young girl was making yesterday afternoon broke health and safety rules. Using BARE hands she added each item after dipping her hands into each seperate topping and even sqeezing the juice out of a couple of them !! The manager confirmed previously that utensils should be used and NOT HANDFULS . As iff I could sit and eat that !! Others turned away as well and I hope someone else complains or reports them. I won't go there now. She was on her own but Iff someone else after her found hidden utensils and used them it would be too late..germs already in each topping.

Visited during a recent trip and needed to buy fuel -service with a smile it was not. Store felt tired and tatty and petrol station even worse. Only 1 till accepting cards and the woman at the other till barking “cash only” at the customers.

A very large supermarket.Very clean The Only problem is sometimes there is a shortage of certain foods for a considerable time which can be annoying if you have made a specific journey for these items.

Great location with lots of parking for this large well stocked supermarket. Pricing can be in 50p steps, so watch out.

Staying on holiday locally, nipped in for a few essentials. Asked for an item- maple syrup. I asked a young man, who was stacking crisps for help. He ignored me and carried on stacking them. Disappointing for Morrison’s.

I called in today for some lunch before doing my shopping and I won't be back to eat!!. The food in the cafe is poor to say the least, hospital food is better than that and that is saying something!!! AWFUL

I decided to visit this cafe today, having never been to a Morrisons cafe before. My first impressions were good, I counted 8 tables where there were dirty plates and cutlery from previous diners. Apart from 1 trolley where they ask you to return try if possible, there is NOWHERE for the customer to get rid of used plates and to dispose of their waste. There were two waitresses bringing food out to the tables, and then returning to the kitchen empty handed, instead of of attempting to clear tables they were walking past. I had noticed that people were stood around the trays where cutlery SHOULD BE!! I took a look, plenty of spoons, a few knives, but no forks. I also saw a dish washing tray with cutlery in, but some of the pieces I looked at were still significantly dirty. When my meal came I asked the waitress what I was expected to eat it with, to be answered by "Oh is there no clean cutlery? Hold on". I saw he disappear with the afore mentioned dish washing tray, only to return a few minutes later, grab some sanitising wipes from a bucket, and quickly rub down a knife and fork, before bringing it to me. Also during my visit it was noticed that at least one person had brought a meal from McDonalds on the other side of the car park, and then proceeded to eat in Morrisons Cafe, whilst not being with any other Morrisons customers. Over all a terrible visit, and one I shall not be repeating.

Disgusting came back here last week its got so much worse i only wanted a cuppa and i sat down on three different tables all dirty not been wiped no staff about got my cuppa and tried to find clean mugs they was all stained again and some was very dirty it took me 10 mins to find a clean mug no need for this and i certainly wouldnt be back here i would now go else where for my tea or coffee. I was in the queue for over 5 mins ordering my cup of tea not many staff about certainly no cleaners about or even staff to clean the tables its shocking poor its put me off coming here and buying anything to eat or drink never again its so really bad. £1.85 for just a normal mug of tea awful

We visit Morrisons in Laceby regularly as we always get a good hot breakfast. Staff are really polite and helpful and generally the meals come out within a reasonable time even when they are busy. Good variety of snacks, main meals, cakes etc always available. A kids menu is also available - would recommend to anyone.

I come here every 3 or 4 months its usually a very nice cafe and staff but yesterday i went to get 2 teas one de cafe another one normal tea. The mugs were dirty and stained this was mentioned several times in the queue i was in other people complained to about the lack of clean mugs. I went to ask if there was any more clean mugs about there was no staff about and all the mugs on the table was dirty and unclean. Dirty tables and dirty floor. You cant serve dirty and stained mugs like this its as put me off coming back here. Morrisons please employ more staff and get staff trained to clean the mugs and cafe floor i couldnt believe the state of the cafe yesterday. Ive never seen it so dirty all the mugs i saw on top of the trolly buying food and drink were very dirty and stained. My friend went to look for clean mugs but couldnt find any. Please sort this out we didnt stay long inside the cafe

Only been here for coffee and snacks. Don't like having to make your own drinks and on the last occasion my chips were very bland. However the staff are usually very helpful.

Fancy a pizza but not in the mood for making one, so decide to ask them to prepare one for you. Simple ? Nope, not for them it's not if you are a vegetarian or don't eat cheese. Tomato base, and then struggle for the toppings. Not much choice for me. No tuna, no sweetcorn . Basically there is not much choice. I buy one in a hurry and add my own tuna when I get home and my vegan cheese. I cannot even have extra tomao paste and yet I do not have all the tops I am " allowed " Sometimes you are told " sorry we have finished serving them for tonight ..around tea time, and yet another day it's not problem. Told it was probably due to staff shortage. So be prepared to have something else, have extra topping you like at home and make sure you are feeling too tired to start from scratch. A young lady is helpful..yet it is hard work for a couple of the others. Oh and is vegan cheese so hard to serve ?? Have to buy mine from Tesco !!

If you have a allergy the staff are not and don't want to be accommodating. We asked if you can clean down the side to prevent cross-contamination and there response was "no we cant".

Buy 2 adult meals and get a child's meal free. We thought we would try this and take our youngest granddaughter, expecting small meals to cover the cost of the free child one. We were mistaken! We both got a very good sized meal and our granddaughter enjoyed her very good portion of 5 chicken nuggets, chips and beans. We will definitely go back and would recommend.

Sometimes when your shopping it is just nice to stop off for a quick snack. The staff were so friendly and even though I chose ready made sandwiches they were delightful. I washed it down with a lovely cup of tea followed by delicious fresh cream cake.. beautifully decorated and very clean. I will definitely eat here again x

We visit here regularly and are always pleased with the food. However, there never seems to be enough staff on duty. We've waited at the till for them and we've waited for food the arrive for up to 30 minutes although when it does eventually arrive, it's always nice and hot. We see the staff are very overworked here each time we have visited. Nice for a quick bite whilst shopping but if you're hungry don't bother.

We normally have a superb breakfast here after our weekly shop on a Friday.Every time we eat here the food is excellent,hot and cooked perfectly.The staff are very polite and welcoming,we would eat here more often if not working.The whole cafe is very clean and spacious.Recently had a big daddy breakfast,this was huge and very reasonable in price.The sausages in particular are very good.Try the breakfast,you won't be disappointed

I've been to Morrison's cafe a few times its hit and miss with them they do do lovely hot drinks and de cafe tea many coffees and other teas but the price of lattes is rather expensive not many clean or tidy tables last time I asked for two teas and got one pot of tea which cost me £3.70 food is OK although on the expensive side cakes look dry some of them was out of date while on the side of the fridge. Waited 20 mins to be served my friend ordered a meal here it looked OK but the bacon looked really dry and she only got one piece of bacon when she asked for two slices of bacon and the tomato's came from a tin not fresh tomato's I'm glad I didn't get any thing that day.

ok for a drink. but I went a week ago and said the coffee table needed cleaning as there were old beans every were. since then I have been back and the table has been cleaned well done. food is ok for a snack.

Lovely range of food, always freshly cooked. The staff are friendly and polite. Never had a bad meal there.

5 of us created our own breakfast,everything was fab.The staff were polite and friendly,special shout out to Jackie,her and the smaller blonde lady( name forgotten) are always fantastic and very efficient.The food was hot,tasty and very filling.Absolutely the best way to start the day !!

After ordering food, finding a clean table was an issue. Not as issue because the cafe was so busy, but because the ‘cleaned’ tables were nearly all dirty with either a few crumbs or sticky water marks. We even sat down on the cleanest looking one and moved the table number holder to find remains of what looked like curry sauce.

The restaurant at Morrisons, Laceby is spotlessly lean. The staff are very good and friendly and the meals at of high quality for such a restaurant. Nothing is too much for the staff in caring for customers

Order a medium breakfast the big one is too much for me. Good service and cooked fresh . Toast can be extra as well as tea and coffe . Disabled tables are well signed

The breakfast was only warm, it took ages to arrive, and it was not a case of service with a smile. Short staffed and when I went to fetch serviettes and other items there was hardly anything left. Therefore it was been topped up by a member of staff who was leaning over me and others and he was ignorant. He wasn't bothered that they had ran out of serviettes .In no uncertain terms it was kitchen rolI or don't bother. Couldn't believe it. Felt like asking how long it would take to open the ones they sell. You could see some of the other customers felt the same way. Don't expect everything perfect in a supermarket cafe but would be nice to have enjoyed at least part of it ! It might have improved, but not willing to find out.

Don't like Morrison's as a Supermarket as there Limited Policy on buying stock doesn't fit with my Lifestyle. However my car was going in for work at local garage so called in the cafe here for breakfast whilst work was being done on car. The whole store including Cafe was Refurnished and was really nice in the whole Ambiance. However the same unfortunately can't be said about the Food or Tea. The tea was Usual Quality as before Refurbishment Weak and No Taste which I believe is Morrison's using there own make Tea Bags. Breakfast was OK I guess but once again Cheap Sausages, along with like warm Beans and hard egg on plate. The girl serving was a credit to this particular store as she was polite, smiling and nothing too much trouble. Our visit was 3rd January 2018 between 9am and 10.30am in case Management are reading this. All in all Great Refurbishment of Cafe and Store in General and just under £15 for 2 breakfasts with tea although why you cant Substitute the Orange juice that's offered for tea is beyond me it's not bad value. Could be hotter and better Sausages. Would we return mmmmmm possibly not unless I'm taking my car into Mercedes for its service. Still this is only our opinion but don't let this review put you off looking at the store

Ordered breakfast at 8-30am only to be told they had no hash browns ??? Surely they have bags and bags in the stores freezers ??? Secondly they had ran out of sugar sachets and supplied a 1kg bag with a teaspoon stuck in it for everyone to use,then there was only a salt grinder on the side for all to share as there were no salt sachets either ?? Finally to completely baffle us they had also run out of serviettes and placed a kitchen roll in place for all to tear sheets off.Completely amazed that the staff had let stock dwindle so low on said items.The food we did recieve was very good as always but cannot fathom how such things can totally run out.

We did our big shop and popped in the cafe for a quick breakfast,good value good choice ,also many people pop in for lunch also

Took my teenage Son here for Breakfast before he started his shift at 12.00hrs. He ordered a small breakfast and myself a Sausage Bun. I paid and waited for our food. And waited and waited. No sign so I asked the waitress on at 11.50hrs an ETA and she said 40mins!!! Bearing in mind we'd ordered at 11.20hrs that was appallingly bad service. Had to get a refund from Customer Service who didn't seem particularly bothered about what I had to say. Hasten to add,will definitely NOT be going back.

Made a visit to Morrisons to stock up on supplies for the lodge. Went to Morrisons and found the store very bright and well laid out. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Had coffees in the restaurant and found it very clean and tidy.

Went for a breakfast with my daughter it was lovely best i have had in a superstore cafe it was fresh hot and the toast was thick bread with butter over all it was lovely thanks to shelly who served us very nice and friendly.

The food is freshly made but just ordinary. Fresh sandwiches and cakes each day. Soup is lovely. Coffee and tea excellent quality.

We create our own breakfast everytime we visit morrisons cafe,poached eggs are always perfect.The produce is tops and always freshly cooked to order.Staff are friendly and attentive,would always recommend to anyone without regret.Since the refit it is even more spacious and the quality is still the best

Lovely golf club restaurant .....first class food from a small but succulent menu.........service excellent and fair prices.....bar meals downstairs excellent too...

Visited about 11.45 am . I had already had something for breakfast but my husband hadn't so he had a cooked English breakfast and I choose prawn marie rose sandwiches with crisps. Didn't wait to long for my husband's . It was delicious washed down with a pot of tea.

The price of the food is about average, sadly the service is not all great, it takes about 20 minutes for the kitchen staff to realise and deliver any food that you are waiting for. It is very slow. I would suggest having a cup of tea and getting a pre packed sandwich. be careful.. you may find some of the food especially veg either hard or been overcooked and crinkly (namely the peas) . The restaurant is a nightmare to find a quiet spot. nicely decorated though. Sadly this is not the only supermarket restaurant I have felt the same way about, (asda). Out of either i would choose Morrison but that's only because i shop there anyway for convenience.

Had a sausage chips and egg. It was ok. Sausage was slightly soggy but edible. The wife had a breakfast. Little did we know you didnt get butter wife the toast. So had to jump to the back of the que to buy some at 10p. After the 10 minute wait in que....food was cold. Would be good if they offered the butter on purchase. Or at least detail butter not included in breakfast.

Look at the picture and you will see what the service and quality are on standard with, if they cant even get a cup of tea correct.

Called in at 2.45pm and was delighted to find that the café served breakfast (my favourite meal) until 3.00pm.

i ocationaly pop into this restaurant before i do my shopping i have tried numerous dishes but seem to always go for the fish and chips the food is always cooked really nice and they give you plenty i have no reason to complain

Had the Full English breakfast and it was perfect... could not fault it. The shopping was as good if not a bit better than Woollies and Coles at home.

Just popped for a tea and bite to eat after shopping..the place has been refurbished since my last visit and looks great.. service is friendly and food lovely

Breakfast is always OK here - plenty of choice and staff are always please to oblige, we often have breakfast before we shop - will visit again and well worth the visit it likes kills two birds with one stone thank you E

Morrison's Supermarket restaurant provides a Big Breakfast that lives up to its name. Very well cooked bacon, egg, hash browns, fried bread, beans, tomato and two slices of buttered brown toast.
