The Coffee machine was lukewarm and no microwave to heat it. Then the two breakfasts came lukewarm, however they cooked a new one and it was much better for us. The coffee machines are situated for all to help themselves more so people did, except I was told I had to pay for my 2nd Cups, although others were not seen and helped themselves.. Coffee machines need to be repositioned so the staff can do it or let us have free extra cups like Weatherspoons and The beefeaters and others. The Service itself was really good and the staff were very helpful in fixing issues that should never have occurrred.

I don’t mind this cafe for the prices and normally decent breakfast. One on the cooks is not very good and very inconsistent. The Chinese cook can’t understand people like consistency when visiting a place 3-4 times a week. I did mention ones to her my food was cold and she didn’t like that. Simply no apology just a dirty look at our table. So the way to fix this is not to order breakfast when she is cooking This really frustrates because the other cooks are brilliant, we always really enjoy our breakfasts. I also noticed the staff breakfast looked a lot better on the next table then the paying customers!

Thought I'd sit in with my daughter while I waited for my son today, so I ordered a breakfast but made it as carnivore as I could. It was delicious. My daughter had a southern fried chicken burger and chips. She said it was lovely - and she can be a picky eater. The food came to us in 15 minutes and was piping hot, the staff were friendly, the table could've been a bit cleaner but I wiped it down myself with their serviettes and antibacterial gel so it was all good. All in all, a lovely meal and great service.

First it must be said how hard working the staff were. Possibly overworked. My wife had the small breakfast. I had the burger. On reflection I think there should have been slaw with, but there wasn’t. Nevertheless we both found both meals enjoyable. 2 acceptable brunches. But what value ! Mums food, no black pudding witch is meant to be on a full breakfast no extra mushroom witch we paid for. Anyone daring to give this cafe a lower than 4 star review can jog on... Fake reviews and fake news... It's incredibly well priced and makes everyone and anyone feel welcome. It's not trying to be anything it's not. The Sunday roast vegetarian option I had the other day had absolutely no business tasting that good - at that price, granted it wasn't a looker. My girlfriend and I often joke when we're being lazy , "shall we just go to Morrisons cafe?". But secretly we love it. ...It wouldn't hurt for them to plant something for the view out of the window though. If you've got time to read on do. A few benefits off the top of my head while it sit here after a ''big breakfast (extra poached egg)". - a microwave to heat up baby food - can fill your water bottle (ask staff) - customise most things on the menu - plenty of seating - free wifi - currently, if you come dressed as you favourite character from a book you get a free cupcake - children eat free at certain times of day - polite staff - good coffee machine. Don't read into Virginia Whitson's short and unhelpful review on the subject.

We used to go to the Fleetville cafe for an occasional breakfast treat but it since its sad closure we have been struggling to fill this breakfast void. This morning, craving some traditional British fry up action we thought we'd chance our arm and venture into the Morrisons cafe, on the Hatfield Rd. The big breakfast is good value at £4.50 compared to a greasy spoon, giving you a fried egg, one sausage, 3 slices of bacon, mushrooms, beans, fried slice and two hashbrowns. Service was excellent and quick and the cafe was clean and well presented. Now the downside. The drinks were slightly more expensive than a greasy spoon and there was no black pudding.....fry up sacrilege!!! Overall the supermarket cafe may have indirectly been a factor in the demise of traditional british cafes like the Fleetville cafe but if you can't beat it, then enjoy it and we certainly did. Well done Morrisons, we'll be back.

Food then came out, soup came and two bowls of chips, no fish. The woman who took our order obviously misheard us, but the waitress who brought our food was snotty and a jobs worth called Franka and was snappy at us about it and told us to go back and queue up and re - order fish for the chips we already had to which we told her to take the chips away as we wanted fresh!! Then waited another 20 mins for the fish and chips to arrive which had no peas with it, by which time we had finished the soup. The ladies toilet were also vile. Two were blocked and disgusting. A cleaner then mopped the floors which were sopping wet with no wet signs, of which our elderly relative nearly went flying. Terrible terrible visit.

If you are an international traveller, you might miss a very English experience, if you don't eat in a super market cafe. It is like the chains of slightly corporate greasy spoons in the US. it fits the bill sometimes, but is not usually desired by adults - kids, though, LOVE it.

We ate here for breakfast/lunch the other day with our 2 lil children and were very suprised at how quick the food came out nice and hot didn't wait long at all, we had an english fry up and it was lovely and tasty they were busy and its quite big in there we didn't have a problem finding a table they have highchairs which is always good for the lil ones, people were ordering all different types of meals cod and chips and some other bits, the only complaint I have is that u queue up before u get a table and we didn't know what was available to order as there weren't any menu's not that we saw anyways when we got to the till we just asked if they were still doing breakfast and they said yes so I just ordered what we wanted.. So next time I will ask for a menu so we know what is available for us to eat... For 2 adults and 2 children our meal cost about 13.00 so defo value for money ;o)) would defo eat there again.

I know this is only a supermarket cafe and I shouldn't have had high expectations but of the three items that made up my meal (fish, chips and mushy-peas) only the fish was edible. If they can manage to make such an easy meal with such limited expertise I shudder to think what the rest of the food is like.

Food is ok...if you're feeding the kids & you turn a blind eye, but every time I've eaten here I've seen a fight break out--either between teens or amongst OAPs. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're with a group of friends.

I have eaten here with my children on a few occasions and have never been satisfied.Pro's - cheapCons - quality of ingredients, service and cooking ability. If is comes out of a microwave it is ok but anything that has to be cooked is terrible.

Apart from how loud it can get this is a great place for lunch. A nice coffee and tasty food. The meals are well priced and you can take a load off after you've done the weekly shopping. I wish there was more food choice but it's perfect for a short pit stop.

Stopped there for a break after Christmas Eve shopping, very busy but service was quick and the cakes on offer are wonderful. A great 'pick me up' when out shopping.

This is the only Morrisons café I have been in but it is far better than those of their larger rivals previously we have only had a late breakfast here and were impressed by the quality of the food for the price and the customer service. On Monday we were travelling between St Albans and Hatfield and decided to give it a try for lunch whilst checking out the wines and seasonal products. On entering we saw a rather rotund gentleman with thick white hair tucking into a Christmas lunch with relish and decided we would opt for it as well. It was truly excellent for a price of £4.80 per head (if I remember correctly) and put to shame one I had in a local pub a few days earlier at more than twice the price! The other things that impressed were the staff who were truly friendly and tables that were kept fairly clear of rubbish rather than the war zone effect many supermarket cafes have. And the rotund gentleman – sadly he did not put on a beard and red suit as he left!
