Always a good meal. Barbara and her staff are lovely - always welcoming to my mum.

Service was slack, and at the point of the served, no condiments were available, making the food cold.

Came here with a group of family and friends after a funeral. Booked the gold buffet menu - generous helpings and plenty of choice. Staff were cheerful and efficient.

Came down for Sunday lunch and can I just say the food was absolutely beautiful we ordered 4 ribs of beef’s which were cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire puds we so good! Would definitely recommend the Sunday sides as an add on!

Lovely pub, lovely staff always up for a chat and friendly faces. Never fail to help or go the extra mile to sort anything for anyone. Adapt to people needs, accessible. Allow dogs! Treats behind the bar! Would recommend to anyone for a bite to eat or even a coffee and a catch up!

We went to the Three Hammers on Sunday 22nd September. We were served by a young lady called Layla, such a polite and extremely helpful member of the bar staff. I asked her name as it’s not often you get such a happy bubbly staff member so eager to serve and help. Many thanks Layla for making our evening special.

Popped in for a drink before we headed off to town, a few Irish Travellers were in there and I over heard the conversation between them and the manageress. She gave them the opportunity to have their one drink and leave as they were causing upset, they then started threatening behaviour and both the manageress and assistant asked them to leave then and there. I think they both dealt with this situation amazingly and kept their heads about them. I love this pub and will always recommend to anyone to visit here.

Came for a couple drinks with a friend! Layla was very helpful and suggested trying the Pink Gin Spritz. Overall, a really nice experience and great service!

Came on a fairly cold day and was delighted to see some great vegan/vegetarian options at a small-chain pub. The menu options were great and a staff member, Layla, helped explain which options could be modified to be vegan. Really helpful! Had a nice atmosphere and I liked the layout.

Manager Layla was really friendly and attentive - she made our experience. The food is also lovely, we both enjoyed the steak.

Shabby decor and awful food. Two roasts. Chicken rock hard, gammon salty. Potatoes are frozen and taste floury. Veg were cold. Should have known by the dirty decor it wouldn't be great. Would have preferred a sandwich from the coop next door. Absolutely terrible!!

Lovely food, very reasonably priced. Nothing too much trouble, Mum is blind, I asked if they could cut her meal before bringing it out not a problem.

Staff are always friendly & there is always a nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Came with a few friends for some drinks and food, staff were so helpful and friendly. Smiles and great customer service, was really impressed! Had the rainbow lasagne which was really nice, came out hot and was an actual tasty vegetarian meal. Got a chocolate Belgian brownie finish it off, absolutely loved, definitely do recommend. Can't wait to go again, immaculate vibes!

Food good but slow arriving could have been warmer

The service was fast and friendly, i had a sec on the beach cocktail and it was made perfectly and looked amazing ! The bar staff were smiley and friendly, happy to help. The pub garden was clean and tidy, a perfect place to enjoy the weather we’re having ! Didn’t get any food, but the food looked and smelt amazing ! Would happily visit again and maybe next time get some food.

The food was awful we ordered salt and pepper chicken in barbecue sauce it was dreadful . The chicken was fried and had barbecue sauce poured over it ... The chips was yesterday's chips and refried ... The waitresses was very helpful . The chefs uniform was absolutely rotton and he was wearing shorts aswell . The manager needs to learn some manners too

Great Sunday lunch. Crispy fluffy roast potatoes and melt in the mouth beef rib. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Firstly nearly all the garden chairs were broken and it took us 10 minutes to find three decent chairs. Secondly I asked for the quinoa salad, it was 90% lettuce and 10% mixture of the rest of the ingredients, the quinoa was barely visible. Did mention it to the waitress, she apologise that that was all. Definitely would not eat there again.

Terrible service, had to find someone to be seated, requested a medium steak which came out rare, waited 15 mins for some mayonnaise by then my food was cold, salt was damp and had rust in it. Steak was full of gristle, onions were over cooked. Will not be returning to this establishment, spent £64.00 for terrible food and service

Well had 4 drinks between us. Stayed 1 hour 15 mins and received a £100 parking notice. If these are the parking rules fine but the bar man served us twice and at no time noted to us that we should sign in with the registration of our car. It seems that popping in for a few drinks on the way home is now out of my financial reach. Surely a large notice and a reminder from the bar staff would assist customers as it appears parking rules can be expensive!!!! Would avoid, would not want to risk being caught with a fine this size again.

Worst pub meal ever. Bad service, waitresses didn’t know what was available. Staff unwilling to take a discount voucher and advised us to ‘use it next time’. Food finally arrived, partly cold, partly missing items. Chicken & leek pie had no leeks in it. Complained about cold mash and she went back to the kitchen but never returned. Only good thing about pub was that it has a large car park.

I've only been here once when I was 7 or 8 with my grandad, but I remember that it was a very nice pub. I don't have much else to say.

Visited on father's day, there was only 1 table plus ours. Later I would understand why 😭😭😭 Sunday Roasts all on the bone except Gammon, the "slow" cooked beef rib certainly didn't fall off the bone and not could you cut it off through the 70% fat that was on it, steak knives maybe would have helped but it was awful. My Chicken and "leather style" Gammon chunk (not a slice) was terrible. This wasn't the worst bit though, we all know a roast potato is crisp and fluffy but not here.... Dark, soggy and mushy potato sat next to the re steamed veg mush. Sent back food once, couldn't wait to do it again... We went next door to co op and got pudding to eat at home as we were still starving. Yes folks that's why a restaurant is empty on father's day!

Whenever I am in the area, this is my place of choice. Took a business college from France for lunch and met the usual good food and especially friendly welcoming and cheerful staff - the whole team!

Although not a regular, living 25 miles away, when I am in the area this is a great place to go. I had a business associate from France with me and we went for a late lunch. Once again the superb friendly staff excelled themselves. Every one of them was smiling, positive, enthusiastic, and helpful. The food was good and served promptly and hot. Good value for money. Whenever I am in the area, I'll return to this excellent Inn.

Website states brunch available from 10am-12pm with menu also displayed. Website also states pub not open till 11am. Figured maybe a small over site so waited (wasted!) 20mins for them to open only to then be told no brunch served. Lunch only and only from 12pm. Attending an event locally that starts at 12pm so not an option to wait any longer. Poor show, on a professional level, to have such misrepresentation on the company website. Also leaves staff having to deal with customers that have been misled - not that they seemed overly bothered either way. Won’t bother returning - if the website can’t be maintained appropriately and is so inaccurate, I doubt the food, hygiene, customer service, etc., will be any good either.

Love this pub and the staff are lovely and go out of their way. It's the firsr place I suggest to meet my friends as it's always so comfortable, has a relaxed atmosphere and a good choice of food and drinks, where you can sit inside or out for hours chatting and feel at home.

Ordered a toasted BLT ciabatta and got a cold white baguette instead. Servers tells me that that's the only thing they have besides sliced bread. When I asked for a refund, the manager gave it without any eye contact, apology, or the slightest concer for what went wrong. Very poor!!

During my recent lunch outing, I decided to try out a new restaurant. I had high hopes for the food quality, but unfortunately, it was just average and didn't meet my expectations. The dishes lacked the flavour that I had hoped for, and I was left feeling underwhelmed. I placed an order for a Sirloin steak cooked to medium-well perfection. However, to my surprise, the steak that was brought to me seemed to be burnt and overcooked, which made my dining experience quite disappointing. To add to my disappointment, the person at the counter was not helpful at all. Their demeanour was quite rude and ignorant, making me feel unwelcome and unimportant. Their behaviour was unprofessional and it really detracted from my overall dining experience, leaving me feeling unsatisfied.

Everything was excellent. Service was exceptional, food was delicious and staff friendly and efficient.

Came here for a business meeting with a client, the staff made us feel very welcome and even set a table up for us in a quiet area. Only had hot drinks but the food going past us looked amazing

Disgusted with parking situation, clearly in it to make money, no one tells you about checking your car in, just have to wait for £100 fine, tried to discuss with pub as not a local and just said there are signs nothing we can do, rubbish customer service, food mediocre and all in left a bad taste in my mouth, will not be using the facilities again.

We used to go to the Three Hammers a lot but the quality if the food produce was not as good e.g not great chips & small chicken in burger. Plus the place is in bad need of a complete refurbishment. So we go to The Swan Leavesden good food produce nicely presented. Clean premises.

The food could have been warmer, quicker as we pre ordered. The vegetables were not cooked enough. The puddings were great. Nice venue, friendly staff and will go again as was perfect for our group of 10.

Bit annoying that they won't let kids in after 9, however they will let them stay outside on their benches, but the food is still great, the interior is quite old but it does the job, a few gaming arcade machines and nice staff.

Hi I would like to know why, as a courtesy, your staff do not think it prudent to ask customers if they have registered their car. If we have received a ticket for our visit last night we will never visit your pub again

Me and my wife have been going in here for ages and we travel from Ware it is such a lovely pub with great food and very friendly and welcoming staff a lovely chilled atmosphere in there we went yesterday afternoon my wife had the surf and turf and I had the ultimate burger food was superb as always and the pub was packed cheers see you soon

Really nice little pub, typical cheap and cheerful Ember Inn, with friendly staff. There didn't seem to be any ability to book a table online but when we called, the staff confirmed that there was plenty of space. The food arrived promptly and the burger especially was delicious by all accounts, although the first choice of pie was unavailable unfortunately. The curry was served with small naan bread and rice but the fresh chilli added a nice bit of heat. There was a bit of confusion when we first arrived in that the iPad to confirm your registration for parking was broken so we weren't sure if we needed to check in, but do make sure you do!

For the third time this year we have booked a table online for a meal in the evening at a time when they indicate food will be available only for the pub to ring us either on the day or late the day before to say the kitchen will be closed at our booking time! Left us literally no time to find somewhere else to dine this New Years Eve. Suggest you ammend your booking system to ensure customers can only book a table for meals at times when food is going to be available! Its not rocket science!

Me and my family came in for lunch and had such a lovely experience. Staff were friendly and polite and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious every single one of us ate all our food. We will definitely be coming again and would recommend to anyone.

Waited half an hour for food that turned up congealed and Luke warm. Sent it back to incredibly a new meal arrived 5 mins later. Good old microwave. Told us they were fresh chips but my half eaten chip with my lipstick was still on the plate. Admitted that the burgers had been reheated ! Terrible food. Was embarrassed for the young waitress who kept being sent to us poor girl. Asked to speak to the Manager who never appeared. Meals eventually taken off the bill but never had confirmation so will await the bill. You can't give my 87 year old mum reheated scampi, first rule in any kitchen. Eat here at your peril - actually just go somewhere else! Disgusting attitude by staff who think we were born yesterday. Own it.

Visited here the other day and received some the worst service I have ever experienced. Our server Barb/Barbara was so rude and unhelpful she had an attitude the whole time she served us. It’s appalling that she is the face of management there. I would be embarrassed to call her a manager if she were an employee of mine. The only positive from this visit was the food it was cooked perfectly such a shame the service didn’t match otherwise would definitely have returned.

Really nice pub, been here many of times but not this close to Christmas. However the staff were so nice! Made the booking from a 2 to a 3 as a surprise and we're very cooperative! Food was lovely, as were the drinks - ordered all on the app, scanning the QR code. Everything worked nicely! Will come here again!

It would have been rated much higher if it were not for the food. The front of house and bar staff were very polite and accommodating, the atmosphere was nice enough too. The food was unfortunately very poor. Stringy mushrooms, lumpy gravy, still frozen foods, uncooked veg. It was clearly a dish that had been pre-frozen and reheated to a very low standard. I don't think it would take all that much effort to turn this around which is what made it all the more disappointing. We'd had to send two dishes back. Both of which came back out simply heated a little more rather than freshly cooked plates. Until this is sorted out, I'd spend a little more and eat elsewhere.

Ample parking space... Tasty options for brunch, lunch and dinner... The pub it self is very rustic and old but well maintained.... off the M25 in a village setup, friendly staff. Use the QR code on the table to order and the service is blazingly fast.....

Had our first Xmas dinner with friends. Had to wait quite a while as there seemed to be a problem. However, the food was excellent, they were seriously understaffed, and the seating was exactly where we requested. And, they apologised for the wait and provided a round of drinks. Very friendly staff, just not enough of them. Great afternoon.

We’ve had many good visits here and nice meals unfortunately our last visit and this time on Saturday have not been good , it was our yearly Christmas meal and all of the Christmas main meals except for the roast turkey were unavailable , two of our group had this and the vegetables were raw and cold the whole meal was Luke warm the pigs in blankets were undercooked and they didn’t enjoy their meals , no one came to ask if our food was alright and when we complained we were told we should have said earlier a shame because we would have done , the 2 burger meals of the regular menu were fine but the side of onion rings we’d ordered never came either , we were given a discount of our our one round of drinks were taken off the bill , we were offered free deserts but due to the wait declined as we were by then short of time , I’m sorry to write this as we’ve had positive experiences here in the past .

For my daughter’s birthday she wanted to have lunch with her friends and be “grown up’s” on their own table. After speaking to the team to book this I knew it was the right place to come, nothing was too much trouble for them they made the girls feel very special and they all absolutely had the best time, with lots of empty plates as well! With an adult supervision table near them, myself and a couple of other parents enjoyed a lovely lunch too. Definitely recommend the Three Hammers. The team made it so special for us as a family that we have booked for our first ever Christmas Day Lunch out, but I’m sure we will be back in a few times before then. Thank you Barbara and the Team.

I was playing golf in the area needing to get something to eat on the way home I passed the Three Hammers and decided to go there. I'm glad I did I am disabled due to a spinal cord injury and the staff was So helpful. They found a table for me and gave me a complete table service for me and frankly spoiled me during my visit. The meal was delicious, but what made the visit special was as a disabled person was the way I was treated with respect.

Great service by bao. Very helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble.

Only thing I could say was I could find the toilet. The smell. Worth giving a miss!!!
