Morrison's Cafe Chesterfield in Chesterfield

The rudest cafe workers I have met in many a year. What more can I say but it costs nothing to be polite Even the toasties couldn't be bothered to put the effort in to get warm.

I visited Morrisons for coffee for the first time and wasn't sure how it operated. The staff all seemed very friendly. There was a lovely lady called Val on duty and not only did she do everything for me, she also accompanied me and took the drink to my table. She was certainly an asset to your company. I will certainly be going again, probably for something to eat as well.

We went into Morrisons at chesterfield into the cafe 16th June and there was a young guy serving and bringing meals. What a lovely well mannered young man.

The entrance to morrisons at Chesterfield is heart breaking 100,s of plants /shrubs for sale were either dead or dying because no-one waters them// this has been for the last few months,Why do morrisons buy the plants in just to let them all die???? lots of customers were voicing the same thoughts. NOT a very good site before entering the store

I have ate at the Chesterfield Morrisons cafe many times. I find the staff approachable, friendly and helpful. I have tried many of the meals, snacks and drinks on offer, what ever I've had I've enjoyed. The cooked meals have always been tasty and arrived hot. At busy times you may have to wait a little longer for your food - staff at the till will advise you if this is the case. I find the cafe environment in the store in Chesterfield to be a bright, relaxing and comfortable place to eat. I've eaten at cafes in other supermarkets including other Morrisons stores and this is the one I've returned to again and again as the service and food have always been good every visit. What I enjoyed this visit:- Main: Fish and chips with a portion of mushy peas Dessert: Sticky toffee pudding and custard Drinks: Regular Fanta and a regular Sprite There is ample parking at the store but be aware that there is a two hour parking limit, go slightly over the two hours and you will receive a parking charge notice. Wrong opening times on Google. Sort sort it out Morrisons you’re not a little corner shop anymore. I took the family for breakfast as it said on Google site 7 am opening only to be told they could not serve me as theyI have changed their hours

Went to the self service to pay for my food as the till were all very busy with long queues...Went to scan a piece of cod reduced sown to £1.20 and it would not let me do it,fair enough...Then the shop assistant came over and sorted out the problem and then proceeded without asking my permission to open my bag and put her hands through my bag without gloves and not saying a word and without having someone else there(you need 2 members of staff to do this)...I did find all quite amusing but customer service in this shop is so poor...On a lighter note the things i got were all on the reduced isle making me possibly the worse shop lifter in the world lol...

Gone downhill the chips were under done , the curry was only like a cheap TV dinner type. The pie peas and chips was poor quality pie.

Ordered two regular breakfasts and two coffees. Café was not very busy but was told there would be a 15 minutes wait but thought at least the food would be cooked to order and would be piping hot. Unfortunately it was lukewarm and the toast cold. Neither did I realise that they have stopped doing refillable coffees even though the coffee machine was in the main area of the restaurant rather than by the checkout, so I had to pay £4 for two lukewarm coffees. Admittedly its been a while since we ate in a Morrisons café but won't be returning as very poor value.

Not sure why but I think they are going down hill rapidly! They used to be really good but not now I’m afraid and this seems to apply to all of them and not just this one! But this is the one I am reviewing today! I cannot see how you can expect somebody to have a table number when you have no idea where you will be sitting before you have ordered your food? We “picked” a number and then found somebody had sat at that table before we managed to get to the table before placing our order what a stupid system! What happened to you were given a number when you placed your order? Much better idea! The food when it came was luck warm at best.. I had toast which I would say was cold the reason I guess because my husband had a bacon and egg sandwich so I guess the toast was hanging around until the sandwich was ready! But it was cold when delivered to me. I asked when the sandwich was delivered if we could have some sauce and was asked what kind do you want! It was thrown at me when it came! I understand the staff are under pressure but the staff in there certainly did not seem very happy in their job! I’m not always happy when I do my job but my clients would never know! I only saw two members of staff working in there and if that is the case no wonder they didn’t look very happy far too much for them to cope with. Morrisons need to pull their finger out and get the cafes sorted because they used to be really good but they are now pretty rubbish serving poor food and poor service

Easy to order, variety of foods, waiting time is a little longer than I would of liked but couldn’t complain for value. Especially with 50% off.

Brought the grandchildren twice this week for tea as it worked out cheaper than cooking. The server Val was amazing with the kids. Brought their food out first( which rarely happens) talked to them and made sure we all had everything we needed. Amazing lady thank you

Good food at good prices with lots of choice including fresh sandwiches etc. Friendly staff BUT grubby tables, food on the floor, the cleaning is not rapid and thorough enough.

First of all. I don't like supermarkets so I needed a little hideout and I'm glad I did. I called in here as I had an hour to kill one Tuesday afternoon. I couldn't see a menu anywhere but when I'd asked for one I found a fine selection of good old fashioned classics. Fish and chips, lasagne, pie and peas with gravy and of course the all day breakfast. I settled for pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy. All for £6 with a drink. I felt that was very reasonable. Great, helpful staff. Clean and tidy. Fair atmosphere with little alcoves (I dislike being seated in a busy void where all eyes are upon you whilst eating). I prefer some privacy. I found the food good for a supermarket cafe. In fact, I've paid more for worse fare in pubs. I would recommend and I would eat there again. Called here for breakfast with my husband. Hadn’t been here before and was unsure how to order food as there was a touch screen. Anyway we typed in what we wanted which took ages and caused a quite a big queue behind us. The machine wouldn’t scan our Morrisons card and then didn’t print a receipt. We then ended up joining the main queue to explain about our Morrisons card and there not being a receipt. The cashier told us there was nothing she could do so we sat at a table. My husband had ordered a full breakfast and I had ordered a vegetarian breakfast. When the meals arrived, which was quite a while the first thing I noticed was a black piece of toast on my meal. Under the toast were 2 eggs and under those were my hash browns and under that my beans. The toast was not edible so I took it back to the till area where I told a member of the kitchen staff that it was burnt and not edible. She sighed, rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. She took the toast off me and asked where I was sat. A short while later she brought me a new unburnt piece of toast and some butter which she’d not brought in the first place. Don’t think we’ll eat here again.

We called in here to fill ourselves up and enjoyed a fresh & tasty breakfast. It was good value and had set us up for the day.

Excellent breakfast and service in cafe pity about slowness of Martin on the till he said it was because the lady had spent a lot and he wanted to give her extra special service unlike the two who had gone through opposite whilst he was serving the one lady I pointed out all Morrisons customers should be treated the same no matter what they pay He then told me he was 60 could not understand what difference that made as we were older than him and my husband had already had to sit down due to kind wait

Husband had the big Daddy breakfast and it was enormous Staff friendly and very helpful Recently visited Sutton-in-Ashfield Store and there is no comparison this one was excellent

Well located supermarket just on edge of Chesterfield One thing I’ve noticed that on the fruit and veg you have to double check the prices several times a veg such as potatoes has a price above it and is meant for another item nearby .The parking is a nightmare I need a disabled space and they are always taken ,veryoftain by “parents and children “ whose own spaces are plenty, empty , and closer The other normal car spaces and small and awkwardly placed with lots of obstructing trees ect The customer services however were very attentive and caring. The restaurant is nice, always busy And the food is plentiful and quite tasty though when busy there can be a long wait

Ok if its a full english that floats your boat the Morrison s can do the job.all the usual suspects on plate and have to say great value .staff functional food was cooked ok in parts but prefer my sausages to be well cooked .the main issue for me was the quality of the ingredients ,not the best

Visited after a speed awareness course... great service and great food. Facilities were clean and staff very helpful.

Dropped in when finished visiting family local, fish chips & peas with bread & butter along with a cup of tea was well worth the visit alone. Quite impressed with the food & can recommend.

Ordered a large breakfast...…….plate was swimming in fat...…..egg was rock hard...…..sausage as hardly cooked......hash brown was soggy......bacon was almost raw...….took one look at it and thought "no thanks" Did get a refund...just wasted half an hour and was still hungry.

We popped into Morrisons cafe for a snack when visiting the store for a big shop recently. We only had drinks and cold food, but they do offer hot food.

Me and my 2 workmates came here for a breakfast food/drinks and staff were spot on good value for what we had to eat, will be going back again next time we are in the area.

We arrived just at closing, but they got us a good meal and were very nice about it. Chips and beans and cups of tea for two, all for less than £6. Chips and beans... just what we wanted after a cold day outside.

Took an age to arrive and it was poor when turned up. It is cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. Avoid!

The coffee machines seem to be the bane of the staffs lives, either need to be filled up or only dispensing half cups. The wait for food is sometimes ridiculously long. Never enough trolley lockers. It's a shame since it's a busy supermarket.

There was a pigeon in my food, four stars. Furthermore, why can you not get free refills on the drinks, this is meant to be a fine dining establishment. Hoover for sale, £85.

Pretty decent food if you just want a quick lunch. Nothing fancy but then value is good considering the low-cost.

Llamado antes de compras para algo. Decidimos hacer la cena del domingo, parecía muy bonito. Las edades esperó a que llegara y no estaba tan caliente como yo hubiese esperado. Sólo cuesta 5 libras, así que no puedo quejarme y yo estaba bastante hambriento después de esperar tanto tiempo para que llegara. Si tengo que usar este café de nuevo me gustaría tomar un bocadillo, ya que estos están dispuestos a ir. No entiendo por qué la comida tardó tanto tiempo para salir, ya que no sabe como acababa de salir del horno. Quizás es necesario más personal de la cocina para conseguir comida fuera más rápido. Love this for a quick cheap tea when they have offers in. Pricey if you come on a weekend, we had breakfast for 3 and we could have gone to a decent cafe for the same price.

Service great staff friendly helpful food could be served hotter .this is only thing could be improved

Went to Morrison's this morning with my Wife. I felt a bit hungry and decided to have a Breakfast and my Wife had a small snack. What was annoying was that we had a Coffee and the meal arrived 20 mins later. Personally I would prefer to have the Coffee with my meal. Morrison's should allow free or reduced refills. Otherwise everything was fine. The staff were kept busy and it was very clean and tidy.

Re fills should be free because I generally have drunk my coffee before the meal arrives.Meals are generally OK but on an odd occasion they have arrived and are not very hot

We take the kids after school and kids eat free. This makes it great value and easy for us to do the shopping in one visit.

So after being poorly for nearly a week and really not fancying having to cook , I decide to take myself and my two girls off to morrisons cafe at Chatsworth Road , chesterfield for our tea. My taste buds are fantasising over the fish and chips. GET to order them only to be told " I'm very sorry but the fryer has broke." RELUCTANTLY I decide on hunters chicken to be told oh I have a 20 mins wait , agree to it and order kids meals. Cheese pizzas. WE go and sit down and after ten minutes a lady comes and tells us they have run out of pizzas. I asked for my money back and bought microwave meals to have at home. CAFE not being cleared of dirty plates . Really unsatisfactory visit,

Arrived here not knowing it had a renovation and what a lovely surprise. This now doesn't look like your regular supermarket cafe, it defiantly feels more inviting. The que was massive!!! There was a half hour wait on food (which we were informed of) but the staff were fantastic and the food nice when it arrived.

When my daughter and I do our food shopping it's great to call for lunch at Morrisons cafe. The sandwiches are always fresh and the cake is lovely . Good job Morrisons!

I'm a carer and sometimes pop in here between calls if I have half an hour to kill. Food always hot and tasty. Sometimes have to wait quite a while for hot food but as it's cooked to order I expect this. A definite favourite and will return again and again. This is the Brampton store.

It is rare, I expect, that two youthful about-towners head to Morrison's Cafe for lunch, without even considering doing any shopping at all. But on a Friday afternoon in September, this is what happened as my wife and I were sadly turned down for food at nearby Koo's and Libby's."Only tea and Cake after 3pm" said a lady who I assume was Libby. "Food stops at 3" echoed another lady, who probably wasn't called Koo. So, off to the nearest place we went, which luckily for William Morrison, was the Morrison's store in Brampton.On arrival, to be honest, it was a bit of a panic. We, by this time were starving, but a menu was nowhere to be seen. The pickings on the sandwich and salad counter were slim, and we had rejected the aforementioned cake because we had our hearts set on something hot and cheesy. After scouring the place for a menu (turned out that they are placed optimally for people coming from the checkouts and not for people straight from the outside world), we finally caught the attention of a young member of staff who furnished us with the choices ... Only availble until 4. So quick as a flash, one mozzarella and red pepper panini, one cheese and onion toastie please. Phew.As the food arrived it was as good as we expected; happily hot and cheesy on both counts. And both of these with chips and salad respectively, plus two drinks for under a tenner is pretty good. So, overall the trip was considered a success.I doubt we will be making a special trip to return, or telling all our friends about the cuisine, but this pleasant café won the battle of convenience this time around and provided good value to boot.

We eat regularly at this cafe, either for a quick snack or a main meal. The cafe has recently been refurbished and changed into more of a cosy cafe environment than before. The food is always freshly cooked, served in a pleasant way and tasty. We can honestly say that we have enjoyed our meals at Morrison's.

I do love the food here the toast is my favorite! It is done how toast is meant to be made. I think the prices are a little steep over all but I think the good is of good quality

called into shop in store and decided to have a brew hereclean and tidy the pot of tea was reasonably priced and enjoyed 20mins relaxing

As a vegetarian there is no choice. The cheese isn't vegetarian so you can't even have a cheese toastie! The staff are bordering on rude.

We have been in this cafe many times and it's always good value - and tasty food certainly sorts out any hunger I have - staff are friendly and the manageress is an old school friend of my wife Big breakfast is my favourite and the Lasagne is too

Went to have breakfast there with my partner. I chose omelette and mushrooms while my partner chose scrambed egg and muffin. We both had hot drinks. Tea and coffee respectively. Our orders arrived quickly and tasted very good, but portions were very small

Dare I say, but average food, served by decent attentive staff, from a Company who has lost its way.

Popped in after a bit of shopping . Sandwich deal was perfect with free crisps and a mince pie ! Lovely butty with plenty of choice . The cream cake was scrummy washed down with a cup of tea . All cheap as chips and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We often visit here when out shopping if we hit a meal time. The food is varied, fresh and very good value. There is plenty of seating.

I love Morrisons Cafe as well.as shopping in Morrisons. I love the coffee and tea plus the cakes as well as the meals. The prices are really good too.

Walking along the canal decide to call in and had a really nice snack and drink at very very reasonable prices, ideal place to stop off

We use this cafe on a regular basis because kids eat free whilst we shop and have a drink. Very fast service!

Excellent tasty food which is generally cooked quickly, although at weekends the service can be slower. The menu changes a couple times a year so it is worth checking for new dishes, although the best is still their Fish and Chips which is both boneless and skinless. Tip: you get one sauce packet per meal which is not obviously advertised, so just ask.

Great food to go with your shopping experience. Small little cafe but quick service and great food to try. Situated in the shop itself

Lovely hot cuppas served here. The food is good, very reasonable prices and great offers for kids. Always cooked fresh which is good.

Eat here regularly prior to shopping in store. Quick service usually, Joanne, Julie and John excellent, friendly service, cafe clean and bright ( usually sit in window) chairs could do with a refurbish bit shabby.OH always has fish chips and mushy peas with curry sauce, I can always find a meal to fit in with my SW diet.

They do a good cooked breakfast for a cheap price. It is hot, tasty and there is plenty on the plate. The staff were friendly and polite. This is all I need from a breakfast in the morning.

Pretty much the same as any other supermarket cafe not the kind of place I would use regularly the only cafe in supermarket I have liked is sainsburys just that little bit better quality.

Home style cooked food. A lovely breakfast where you can also create your own. Lovely meals , snacks and coffees before or after your shopping trip.

I love Morrisons Cafe. Great choice of food, breakfasts, snacks, dinners, or even just a cuppa. Kids meals and kids moxes. They also do kids eat free after 16:00 on school nights when purchased with an adult main meal which is a bargain.

I love this morrisons cafe. Helpful staff, good cooks and delicious food. Downside is perhaps like every other morrisons cafe, seats aren't that comfy but the food makes it worth it!

Can't fault it. Kids eat free fab. Fish n chips great and the breakfasts are best value around. I go for scrambled egg on brown toast served with grilled tomato for 2.00 bargain. Thanks Morrison's.

Thursday morning in Chesterfield and needing breakfast we stopped at Morrisons. The cafe was brilliantly clean, service quick and the prices from another age (3 rashers of bacon, sausage, egg, hash browns, mushrooms, beans, fried bread, tomato plus a pot of tea and change from £5 !!!!. Well done Morrisons.

Me and my boyfriend had a lovely breakfast here, such good value for money. It was a beautiful sunny morning and we fancied grabbing a breakfast out. We got a full english breakfast, breakfast omelets which include beans, mushroom and tomato, I added a sausage onto it and we got two sides of black pudding. We both got a coffee and a large orange juice each and it all came to about £14 and so because of the price I wasn't expecting anything amazing but when the food came out it looked wonderful and it really was delicious. I'm really surprised at how good the food is here.
