Costa Coffee in Chesterfield

The staff are wonderful always welcoming and cannot do enough for you they are lovely young ladies my husband and I think the staff are first class and we visit every afternoon 7 days a week we cannot say enough lovely things about them all 10 out of 10.costa at 550159lockoford Lane Chesterfield.

Excellent service. Polite staff. Coffee really hot well worth a visit. No problem with the wi-fi.

Went in today, first time in 6 months, and disappointed the WiFi still not working. Friendly staff tell me they get lots of complaints about this but the owners do not seem concerned. I’d guess it’s been out of action for well over 12 months which means many folk avoid this place for that reason. Pity

Lovely staff and delicious coffee and hot chocolate if a little pricy. Only downside is the sticker on the door says free WiFi but when you go to sign in you have to pay for it :(

As previously stated, this is the worst Costa I have ever visited - more expensive than other Costas, no free wi-fi, staff not very friendly, looked dirty and not looked after.

Dropped in for a quick cappuccino, enjoyed the drink. Staff were chatty. The windows were full of condensation which gave the cafe a dingy appearance.

This has to be the worst Costa in the UK, Floors covered in old food desperately needs a Hoover, no heating on, windows full of condensation, Damp at the bottom of the Windows.

Called in for a coffee on Sat 20th Jan with my partner for a coffee and a chat. Sat there happily chatting and enjoying the coffee and subsequently stayed for quite a while. Today (25th) in the post I received a £100 parking fine for stopping longer than 1 hour. What an absolute disgrace and what a scam by the parking company. So make sure you gulp down your coffee quick, don't get comfortable and enjoy the place, and don't even think of visiting KFC afterwards. I will never be visiting here ever again.

Was a nice place to meet up and have a catch up and drink with family. Service was good and polite, the latte was nice and a decent. Plenty of snacks and nibbles to chose from too. A nice cosy place.

Small carpark as it is shared with the neighbouring KFC, we walked in and had the Terry's hot chocolate orange. Delish! Friendly staff but get there early if you want a sandwich for lunch :)

Occasionally the drinks aren't piping hot but the girls who work there are lovely and full of manners excellent place for a coffee!

WARNING. £100 FINE UNLESS YOU DOWN THAT PIPING HOT COFFEE. Don't let the comfy seats fool you. Costa don't want you hanging around. Check the parking notices and you'll see you only get 60 minutes to park. If you want to take your time and/or enjoy multiple drinks and snacks.... Well then, Costa would like you to eff off and take your loitering elsewhere. If Costa read this. You guys were great, the problem is Civil Enforcement parking... Please tell them to extend the parking time and stop ripping off your customers.

Always a pleasure to go in Costa. My grandchildren are loving the new blue Berry bubbles If you haven't tried the banana pecan cake you really must is beautiful

Overall service was poor, the 2 woman serving today look fed up and clearly didn't want to be there, lacking basic warmth unless calling people duck counts.

Great coffee consistently good range of food, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Really worth a visit. Car parking spaces available.

Came at 5.30 with 2 friends for a chat, was told main area closed as they had to mop. Doesn't close until 7pm. We had already ordered and spent in excess of £30 and not one table was available for us to sit together. All the seats available in a line were two seaters. No view as some barrrier been put up. The two women proceeded to mop next to us. Push trolleys with lord knows what around and left door to staff room open with all its clutter on show. Dreadful experience, will never return. Staff miserable and very rude, allowed no time, we stepped in and was asked what we wanted straightaway, we hadn't approached counter, I cannot fathom how these people are allowed to work with the public

Jess the manager was extremely rude.. no manners. Would be better off as a sergeant in the army. No people skills… monotone voice with no enthusiasm , no smile..thought it acceptable to TELL. you where to stand , where not to stand and Tell you where to stand to pay. Just hard and Robotic, clearly something wrong with her which was brought to work. A please and thank you would’ve helped. Had to explain that I couldn’t follow her commands to go and stand in a certain place as I had to keep an eye on my husband who has dementia…. No reaction .. a disgrace !!

I didn't eat but my americano was perfect.

Wasn't very busy and the staff was talking why we were waiting to be served, I never got greeted and there were tables that needed clearing off all over. The windows had loads of condensation and the window sills was wet and rotten. Deffently needs a refurb.

Be aware. A visit to Costa resulted not only in a hefty price tag for food , cake and coffee but also in a parking fine as we were there for more than 60 mins. Will not be returning.

Always a pleasure to visit. Friendly helpful fast and efficient staff. Usual good standard of coffee and delicious toast. But most importantly the loo was clean and fresh smelling something other coffee shops are lax about. Well done to all concerned. A pleasure to revisit.

£4.15 for a medium size takeaway coffee! server took my order and disappeared in the back never to return, I had to wait until another member of staff asked if I was being served before my drink was eventually prepared....

Cinnamon buns dry latte only warm and both overpriced. Toilets only adequate only one mixed and not spotless floor wet around toilet brush with sink too low.

It would have got 5 stars but its getting so expensive, especially when you consider there's not much difference in taste etc between Costa and Greggs or Maccy's but Greggs and Macky's are half the price and definitely not half the flaunting so Costa needs to be careful because everyone will end up defecting to Greggs and Macky's for their coffee

This is the most friendly Costa I've been to service good staff excellent

Ordered a large cappuccino, and when it was to a drinkable temperature, the drink had disintegrated to about half a cup and was average at best.. £4 that was, never going there again! Could probs get a better quality cup of coffee with more in it at half the price at greggs 😂

Coffee shop it's ok relaxing but something I'd only do very occasionally.

Staff were lovely, but didn’t mention the parking thing and it was dark when I arrived so didn’t see any signs. Now I have a parking fine. Have asked Costa to sort it, hope they do as I can take against folk. Last time I got a fine I didn’t use the Co-op for 15 years…

Nice cozy place with a variety of drinks and sweet. Staff is quite decent but not as welcoming or courteous as in Mc Donald's.

Met a friend for coffee here. No problem parking. The service was good, staff are friendly.

NOT HAPPY! I went to Costa the other week and parked in the carpark opposite. I put my reg plate into their permit system so parking would be covered throughout my time in there. Only to receive a £40 fine a week later - I appealed this and Costa never provided my permit to ParkingEye. Times are hard enough without having to pay out this kind of money. Shall not be returning.

Friendly staff , kept the tables sanitized, fresh hot coffee, more pressure on the staff they have now got To charge for extra butter for the toast & pupachinoes, glad to see it’s let rip You off for every penny we can time . Glad to see there looking after the regular, will not be a regular for much longer

Oh dear. Filthy coffee shop. Empty cups on every table. Smelly horrible toilets with urine all over the floor. Didn't look like it had been cleaned...ever!! Young ginger hair lad behind the counter was rude. No staff weren't happy. Made to feel uncomfortable. No WiFi either. Grotty..avoid!!

Absolutely discussing you go in there for lunch and drink then the next thing them and kfc give you a parking charge of a £ 100 if paid bye 14 day's it be £60 so there both getting double money for you eating in there restaurants and given you a parking charge. Please beawre of this don't go there if do park some where else not be double charged bye them . KFC & COSTA COFFEE.

Disappointing. There was a time when you could nip out for a quick coffee. Not with Costa. I was lucky, I got there just before the queue formed. Even so, it took ages to get served. The staff didn't seem very interested in their jobs and didn't look very happy. I saw various cups stacked on the coffee maker and I honestly thought they were there for cleaning because of the state of them but then one was picked up and used to make a coffee with! Gross. Costa charge a lot of money for their food and drink but they don't give a even a fair service in return. I won't be going back.

If I could have give zero star rating I would have. Endless wait to be served. Incredibly rude staff. Dirty tables (ours was not cleared from last customer and we were there an hour.

I like a Costa,some are better than others this one is a good one,the coffees are the same but its things like friendliness of staff efficiency and cleanliness,I was served with coffee in hand in about 2 mins at most and there was someone clearing away and cleaning as soon as was needed and the place was spotless would go again 👍

Disappointed that after ordering, waiting for 10 minutes before be given our two coffees to then be told there is no sugar in the building should have told us before if you are happy to pay 7 pounds foe two coffees you should be able to enjoy them the way you like them

Me and husband came in on Saturday after we'd finished our Tesco shop. We were shocked and disgusted when we were served by a staff member (short dark hair) with GLITTERY FAKE NAILS on, which put us off from ordering food.

Watch out for the parking Nazis. £170 fine as a proven customer, they should have retracted it but mistakes were made on their side and unwilling to rectify. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Staff disorganised and chaotic. arguing amongst themselves. got my order and others wrong. Shambles

Always a massive queue in here so don't expect fast service been a couple of times and they have been prioritising online orders which then just sit on side for ages which riles me. But coffee is good but allow for queuing time

Need to update opening times, says it opens at 8 on a Sunday, went to get a coffee b4 work, n it's shut said they open at 9, disappointing.

I went to this costa coffee on a Saturday morning about 8:45 only six people in shop staff very slow one member of staff talking to what looked like their partner and child. It took over five minutes to get some toast at least they did apologise for the wait I’ve been to all the costa coffee shops in chesterfield and this is by far the worst one I think the staff need a bit more training

Usually go most mornings before work, last few occasions coffee just warm, and it's of putting a staff member coughing in her hand and not washing them. Better service in tesco Costa.

Fantastic coffee polite helpful staff

From a personal point of view not our best visit. It was busy but so so noisy we couldn't hold a conversation. Unfortunately the sandwich bread was very dry it was almost hard. We coukdnt wait to leave today. We shall avoid in future and go to the one on the retail park.

Well was Costa coffee really which is nice. Only problem with this branch is parking is limited and shared with kfc which makes it a bit of a nightmare

Called in Costa near KFC and Tesco in Chesterfield a few days ago , 3 women behind the counter all busy , but not one of them even acknowledged the fact that I was stood there waiting over 5 minutes , and people who know me can vouch I'm far from being invisible.Would you not think that at least 1 out of the 3 would have had the common decency to say " Sorry we're a little busy someone will be with you shortly " ? No such luck. Was it because I wasn't wearing a suit and was in green cargo pants and green tee shirt ? Needless to say I just walked out. If this is how they treat people I will never go there again.

Absolutely disgusted! Been working here now for 12 weeks now to have received the news of last minute dismissal. First of all apparently I have received a couple of complaints about me which is a joke considering a new starter has had more complaints coming especially from staff for being rude to other members, leaving early etc when one of the reasons I’m being laid off is for being late by 10 mins a couple of times. My time here I have the found the area manager very rude as she will acknowledge other staff members but look through the other staff and ignore them! I’ve never slacked at work and have never messed about or took my job not serious. I have found the place very sexist to work in as well, it is all girls there and being the only male is very intimidating (I have heard of males leaving before and not lasting and now I know why) Don’t get me wrong there is some great staff members there, can’t fault the assistant manager for one and I feel like sometimes the assistant is put under a lot and should receive more support! Also to the cleanliness and COVID procedures I feel like in the store these are only taken seriously if they know someone is coming into the store to check and I felt at times I was the only one cleaning the touch points when I was on the till! If this store didn’t know anyone was coming I don’t think they would pass it at all.I never usually write complaints about my ex employers but this is something that needs to be addressed, I have been trying to get in touch with higher up in the department and am still waiting to hear back from them and I won’t stop until I am heard.

Never overly impressed with this Costa, just had a Americano white. It wasn't hot, like the kind of hot you would expect from a freshly made drink, the taste was also weak, not enjoyable at all. Not had this experience at any other Costa.
