Andy and the lads provided a great lunch and a very warm welcome. I would recommend 'posh beans on toast'.

Served by Andy who was the nicest and most genuine man, who really made our experience so much better than expected. Fast service, great conversation and just an all round top bloke. Will definitely come back again

My husband and I are regular visitors to the Chesterfield Tesco Cafe and always find the staff extremely hard working, always with a smile and with a freindly greeting, even when obviously short staffed. I feel it would be helpful to them and the customers to have a table clearing rack for customers to be able to clear their used trays and pots away. Please thank the staff for their cheerful dedication.

Arrived at lunch time on a busy Saturday, gentlemen servicing on the till was extremely pleasant and friendly even though the cafe was so busy, all tables was full. Service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. He apologised for us having to wait even though we didn't mind as gave us longer to decide what to have. Explained they was short staffed and so only the 2 of them serving, making food / drinks and clearing tables so was understandable that we had to wait a few minutes. Would definitely return again especially on a Saturday as was nice to be severed by someone with a polite friendly manner under difficult circumstances for them.

After trying 2 different Tesco cafes in the area (we were dying for a breakfast at 2:30 in the afternoon) and being told they weren’t serving food at this time due to cleaning or ran out etc, we finally came in to this store and spoke to two lovely ladies who were so accommodating and gave us lovely service and hot fresh food! Deffo recommend a walk to the back of the store to find this gem!

Usually quite good (I order for delivery) but past two times they've forgotten my drink and this time my wrap was stale and part of it were so hard I couldn't even attempt to it aswell as everything else we ordered being on the cold side, just find this confusing as my order actually came early so it shouldn't of had chance to go this bad.

4 stars this time. Typical Tesco cafe so not too bad overall. We were served by a girl who was having her 1st shift that day but she managed to be courteous and apologetic in the same time. You have to love people up north for their openness as well as (just)outgoing attitude.

very much improved. New manager has really taken steps to improve visit. Food is now put on a plate not just thrown on as before. Breakfast has been great last few times we visited and coffees are really good. Very good young lad working there. However could do with bit of low level music, swap the drinks signs at front for more food menu signs, sort out top of stairs. Looks terrible as you walk up. fill fridges as you walk in. after breakfast have a light on above food hot plate as looks like no hot food is being served. Just a tray of jacket pots would look good under the light. anyway much better thanks

Tesco seem to want to keep this place secret. The staff bless them do their best against all odds.On a recent visit a couple of weeks ago they couldn't do fried eggs as they didn't have any!! excuse me the cafe is in a giant supermarket. To be fair if you manage to get what you would like its not bad for what it is. I can't help thinking that Tesco would rather everyone used the far more prominent and more expensive better positioned Costa in the store so they could then close the cafe.

On my own this morning so I thought I’d treat myself to breakfast out. I had an 8 items breakfast. 3 rashers of bacon which I had to pick up and bite as I couldn’t get my knife through it. My fried egg had a hard yolk. The half of roast tomato was warm but still very hard (not really cooked through). The two sausages, the mushroom and the coffee were the best bits. Won’t be rushing back.

Nice enough for a supermarket cafe. A little understaffed for peaks times I'd say, but the staff are very friendly and the coffee is pretty good :)

Started using this store about 3 months ago. Initially impressed. Wide isles, good range of products, nice staff. However, the last two visits have made me change my mind. Never enough small trollies; have to hunt the car park to find one, staff miserable, wide isles choked with pallets of drinks offers, just a very unpleasant experience. Lady in customer services not interested. "we`re busy and short staffed" was her comment. Awful manager more like. If Tesco read this, get down there quick. Will return to Morrisons

Called in for a late breakfast. One full breakfast and avocado on toast. Alas told no avocado so I asked for poached egg on toast. Certainly not a poached egg as was fried and water splashed over. (Trying to cut down on added fat) hard egg yolk!! Server polite and did his best as on his own but at 10am why no avocado or “I will get some from the shop floor” when it is on the menu? Tables clean. Toilets clean. Stairs and lift to both.

I came to chesterfield cafe with my son and my sister and her son, we came one Friday around dinner time , there was only two girls on, the cafe was quite busy, it shocked me a little that there was no other staff (as I watched the girls rush around and struggle - whilst smiling and being extremely helpful and polite ) My sister had scampi chips and peas and this was cooked fresh- took about 20 mins I had the eggs benedict - we both loved our meals , piping hot & the presentation was great! My son and sisters son had the pasta and garlic bread and fish fingers and chips , I was tempted to order more chips (but didn’t just because I New I’d have to wait a while , seeing as though they obviously have staff shortages / cut backs etc I didn’t want to really have to wait another 20 mins However, the chips was the best chips I’ve had for a long time , lovely golden brown and crunchy!! I have been in this cafe a handful of times and I feel that my experiences have always been ok, I was shocked to see a lot of bad reviews, then again these days more people would write a bad review than a good one , in my opinion. On this particular day though I could really see the girls working hard, we was in the cafe a good hour and the kids did a colouring while we had a drink and the girls didn’t stop for a second, I overheard one girl say to the other that she felt dizzy, and the other girl said she felt the same. I did go over to the girls personally and thank them, as they brought all our food and drinks out together , I forgot the milk for my cup of tea and the girl had noticed this (before me ) and went and brought me some , I believe that from reading these reviews that it probably depends on how busy the cafe is , and which team member is on the day, and if they can work well together and work hard , it really needs to have more staff in place to provide a quicker service . I will be returning back to the cafe

Me and the Mrs went into Tesco to buy a new phone and as we were here we decided to have the breakfast in the upstairs cafe. After twenty minutes wait, the chap in front of me got served, but turned round to me and said he'd had to wait twenty minutes to get that and whilst he did two other customers in there walked out muttering. The two girls in there had a dreadful, So what? attitude and the Mrs went and sat down and said, "just get me a coffee". After another ten minutes wait in an empty cafe area we still hadnt got served so we left rather disappointed, being glowered at by the two sullen girls from withing the kitchen area. Not what i'd expected; not at all. Come on TESCO for gawds sake pull your fingers out.

Portion control non existent - don't get the young lad or you can count the chips on one hand. Quality poor, the cheapest of the cheap bacon, sausage etc. if it's warm you've got a bonus.Re-fried chips - that's right they are part fried, frozen, then re-fried on demand. Foul.Expensive cakes, buns etc.Just avoid it full stop.

I went today with my mother, sister, niece and her baby. We wanted somewhere convenient after shopping, as my sister then had to transport my mother and me home in time to collect my niece's eldest child from school, so we went in the Sainsbury's café. We should have waited and gone to Greggs or Subway downstairs, on the way to the car park.

The Tesco on Lockoford Lane has quite the menagerie of choice when it comes to snackage. First, there is the very store itself. Aisle and after aisle of food from all over the globe. But, when craving some tasty sustenance, who wants to pick, pay for and prepare their own feast at home. Not me. So the on to the other outlets, all under the same roof remember.

New superstore stocks everything required and necessary. Pleasant and helpful staff. Franchise shops welcome and well stocked for small spaces. On the downside the floor of the store vibrates and bouncers and makes me feel dizzy and I have heard this from many customers.

Decided to visit the Tesco Cafe as we've normally had pretty good food at Tesco's, however, this one failed in many ways! Staff walked past ignoring that we were waiting at the counter to be served, not even a "just give me a minute to finish this ...." or anything. Then the 'sandwich' did I want it toasted or not.......! Now my understanding of a sandwich is "an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with a filling between them, eaten as a light meal." This obviously is different for Tesco, the minutes 'filling' only partially covered one half of the sandwich leaving the other as a dried piece of bred, yum yum! My advice, don't bother!

My husband and I popped in here last Saturday morning as we were staying at the Premier Inn nearby whilst visiting family. There was hardly one in the café which I suppose should of been a clue. We both had the cooked breakfast. Not particularly hot, poor quality food and not worth the money. Would not recommend

We had got sidetracked and found ourselves needing to eat but we also needed to shop so we popped into Tesco's Cafe. It is upstairs so above the shop floor and away from the hustle and bustle of the shoppers which is nice and it was quite quiet while we were there.

We visited Willow Springs cafe and soft play regularly prior to lockdown, and this was our first visit since they re-opened. The new outdoor play area is a breath of fresh air for families desperate to let their kids get back to normal - a clean, safe space for children to play whilst parents can enjoy a drink at the spaced tables. Staff were really friendly and we had a great time. Will definitely be returning!

I feel like some reviews are for the Costa opposite Tesco and some are for the one inside the Tesco ? My review is for the one inside Tesco . Yes the windows are a little dirty so they are spoiling the view of the busy road and the homeless man having a fag down below ??? So what get a life ! The windows are Tesco anyway not Costa . We come here every week and the staff are lovely and coffee always great . Served by Julie and Sharon today I think both lovely ladies . I like this Costa everyone should just stop moaning
