Recently visited and was very happy with the service. We was served by Chantelle and the service she gave was brilliant.

Been in the Royal Oak a few times since the opening and the experience has been great. Was recently served by Chantelle, she was very polite and welcoming. She went above and beyond. Will certainly be visiting again.

First time popping in since it’s changed names and managers. Very impressed with the cleanliness the staff were lovely I was served by Chantelle I think her name was. Also added bonus a bouncy castle which kept the little one entertained for a while we will certainly be back!

Visited a few times recently, since it changed back to The Royal Oak, love the facelift, it really has made the venue feel more like somewhere you want to go! The drinks are great value and the staff were great, especially Chantelle who made me a great mock tail as I wasn’t drinking and I was bored of soft drinks! A must visit pub on the Brampton mile.

Was a quiet day when we visited, but friendly staff, great prices fir Brampton. Hope it does well and stays as it is. Fab that it's back to the original name.

Serve a good pint, staff always friendly and they do beavertown on tap which is always a winner

Expensive beer. Was one guy by himself on the bar trying to serve 30 + people so most walked out.

First off your barmaid was aware of her presence, the girl used your barmaids phone then changed her coins into notes, then she came over to our table and was pan handling us for £1.50. That's when my friend got overwhelmed and had a meltdown (he suffers from asperger's syndrome) the barmaid escalated the situation trying to blame management saying that its management policy to let her in and help her. He couldn't process that and to be honest we cant. The begger in question is banned from all the pubs in Chesterfield must be a reason why! An hour later she was asking us for money again outside the sun, she didn't recognize us as her main focus is on money for drugs. She must've asked us a thousand times for money. But it's the first time weve been pan handled in a pub. Secondly why refer to my friend as the bald gentleman we was in a party of 3, 2 woman and a man. Is that your way to insult a paying customer who was upset about something happening in your pub. All 3 of us were annoyed we came out for a quiet drink.

Wish I could give it zero. Apparently the people who run the pub allow druggies In to use the staff mobile to call drug dealers and change their begging change into notes and worse of all to beg customers in the pub. I will never go in again. I will report to stonegate

Should be a great pub - but somethings up with the sports tv & stuff…. Invested 60 minutes in a game - just to see the tv turned over to a different channel. Then watched adverts!!! - staff don’t care and not a clue. Possibly a license issue with Sky etc - but a bit mean to change channels!! Very disappointed and will watch sport somewhere else and spend my money in another till!

Nice pints. Friendly people. Not really into sports, even though it's a sports bar. Was passing, so popped in. Been a second time. Had live music, which was pretty good. Good atmosphere when a few more customers. Updated my review and added more stars. Friendly staff. Liked it even more, this visit 👍

I haven't eaten here before but I have been a few times to watch football. There is usually a good atmosphere and the staff are really polite. When the weather is nice there's a large outdoor area with booths where you can also watch sports from.

Lovely pub and a fantastic beer garden. Only stopped for one drink but would definitely return

Didn't have food as I was here for drinks with a hot date 😂 first time out around this area and got to say was a very nice place was really busy which on a Saturday night is always good for the atmosphere. Had a massive outside drinking area which was really impressive. How did the date go you ask well sank too many pints way too quick on catch up and ended up over the loo back home 😂 but she is still talking to me 😂😂 all in all might be worth a revisit if I get another date

Absolute top drawer pub for beers, live music, atmosphere and service

Ripped me off by charging me twice for 2 gin and tonics for a round that should have cost me £12,40 instead cost me £24.80. Disgusting that a pub needs to make money by ripping off customers

Absolute awful...My friend had her card refused so i offered to pay with my card...At the first attempt the woman behind the bar said it had been refused so rather stupidly i believed her so i put my card through again and i saw with my own eyes that it had been approved...Absolutely disgraceful that they cheat customers like this...It has happened to me in the same pub before but i let it go as a one off mistake...For 2 gins at £12.40 they charged me £24.80. Sadly it will be hard to prove and it really upsets me that they feel they have to cheat people to gain profit. One star makes me feel i am praising this awful place.

Had a couple of drinks recently in the Spotted Frog. We have not been there for a couple of years , so it was nice to be back. Good range of drinks , comfortable seating and prompt and friendly service. To be recommended.

Great pub, we go quite often, 4 stars cos it's a sports pub and to us that's the only down side, if you like sports on TV then it's a bonus.

A brilliant outdoor area, perfect for live music.

Had very rude service from a very young boy and girl on Wednesday evening, neither of them smiled and made me feel very uncomfortable, if I come in again and see these people behind the bar I will definitely hesitate to come in.

Had to queue a bit at the bar however got to say the service was brilliant. The bar staff work their backside off! Decently priced, outside area is fantastic. Tons of tvs for sports and many different seating areas. Fab pub.

I've heard it can be a nice place, however on our vist there were more doormen and bar staff than customers and the gents toilet was an inch deep in wee. Hope it gets good again.

Better than I thought it might have been. Greeted with a smile everyone very helpful. I'd definitely go again and I'm pickey about food, give it a try.

Was packed out everyone there for Cheltenham races. Could see they had put food on atmosphere great. Top class pub

Not very welcoming and prices expensive

When you're confronted by a millennial who appears to have lost her personality, wallet, character etc, you try a little humour to lighten the moment. I wanted a gin, and spotted a bottle of Hendricks on the shelf. I jokingly asked, 'I don't suppose you have any cucumber do you'? She looked blank, so I assumed she had no idea what a Hendricks consisted of, fair enough, she's young and perhaps lacking in experience. She then told me that I was being rude, and that this was the second time I had been so? News to me, and the company I was with. If I understand the situation correctly, the fact that a hormonal millennial didn't understand the constituant elements of a simple drink, then I am an aggressor? On leaving, I asked a very pleasant girl with red hair who the manager was, to my astonishment, it appears it was the incredibly rude millennial who had been incredibly rude to me earlier. You couldn't write it could you. But I just did..

We visited on Saturday at around 10pm and we were told that last orders would be 10.30pm so we did have pre-warning before we ordered our drinks but it just seems madness!! We were told they were closing early as it had been a quiet night and whilst the pub was much quieter than others we'd visited that night, kicking out the 12 customers you have at 10.30pm isn't probably the best way to grow custom. We'll just walk past next time.

Slow service. Receipts for card payments only available inside. Has been closed for the last 10 days. Is it open? Nobody answers the phone so probably not.

Poor customer service and very money orientated. Been a few times and got the same impression every time. Friendly customer service plays a BIG role in my opinion, so it’s put me off ever coming back. Only reason I haven’t given it 1 star is because the waiter who served us previously was very helpful and polite - It’s a shame he isn’t in charge instead. Unfortunately I didn’t know his name to give him credit.

Nice pub but no where near enough bar staff

The “manager” as she called herself was one of the rudest I’ve come across. It really isn’t difficult to be a decent human being and speak to people in a polite manner but that seemed far too difficult for both the manager and one of the security guards. I’ll take a wild guess that the numerous people, including myself, that I witnessed being spoken to like dirt, were only spoken to that way because we were football fans. Everyone else seemed to be able to wander between tables and have a laugh just as we were doing and did so without getting told off like school children. Real shame as it ruined a day for me and my friends that we’d been looking forward to for some time. The reason I’ve given two stars and not one is because of the waitresses and waiters that worked there. They were lovely, polite and helpful and don’t deserve to be tarred under the same brush. Sadly, though, I wouldn’t return here even if you paid me.

The manager here is an absolute disgrace. We were having some drinks in the beer garden, six of us around a table which is perfectly within government guidance (this was on 5th June - the rule of six outside was gone). However, the manager saw an issue with us moving a couple of tables together to give our group of six a bit more space. This was despite three of their staff members being fine with us and ordering drinks. This was not stopping anyone else because the rest of the pub wasn’t full. The manager came all guns blazing and didn’t ask us politely to move the tables away, she kicked off. Even though we didn’t break the government rules. It’s mystifying when you’ve been closed for the best part of a year, that you’d actively be rude to customers and turn away business.An absolutely disgraceful way to talk to customers who had spent around £100. She then decided to kick us out for no good reason at all, because we dared to reason with this nonsensical argument that we’d apparently broken rules, even though we were in a group of six (legal inside, never mind outside!) The staff were fine, the manager was an absolute disgrace to pub managers. We won’t be coming there again and I hope nobody else who wants to be treated with any degree of respect ever bothers going there again.

Even though it was out side it was a great atmosphere, just wish we'd found it sooner.

Attempted to go yesterday and the door staff was extremely rude I didn't even get a chance to explore the facilities and I got the impression that only two types of people was wanted there

Another brilliant visit to the Spotted frog well worth traveling from Crich. Booked a table for 4 under the heated pergola, can't believe they don't charge for sitting here! The atmosphere was great and the service even better, someone was always on hand to serve you before your glass is even empty. The Fat Pig BBQ was excellent. Thanks again Spotted frog.

Booked a beach hut - easy process via Facebook. Really good service, slightly longer wait than normal but expected as really busy. Great having TV screens in the huts to watch footy. First pint after lockdown tasted great. Booked again for next weekend. Would highly recommend.

A confirmed booking of a beach hut turned into a series of apologies and false promises. Drinks took around 25 minutes to arrive from ordering and we ending up cutting our evening short as we got fed up of chasing up progress on our booking with no updates.

Visited The Spotted Frog this weekend and had a positive experience, although the staff were clearly busy the atmosphere was great and all the staff were friendly and attentive! Will definitely be returning and would 100% recommend!

We went on Tuesday the 13th April 2021... we booked a beach hut for 4.30pm when we arrived we waited a little to get see the female staff member was excellent.. we where never left for drinks...she was helpful and efficient and if little longer she apologies...the whole experience was amazing and within the circumstances and only 2nd day in couldn't fault them the outside toilets immaculate and when our time was up in the beach huts...she allowed us to move to another table....people need to understand it new to them aswell us and to be mindful we are all learning and adjust...we have booked another beach hut on the 8th May can't wait thank you

Was so excited to be finally having a night out. My friend and i booked a table for 6.45pm. When we arrived we were told there was a problem with the booking system and that they didn't have us down. However we had messages confirming bookings so we were let in. We were shown to our table where we were told someone would be over in a few mins to take our drinks orders. We waited and waited for someone to come. We asked several members of staff who kept saying you will be next. We waited approx 30 mins before anyone actually came and took our drinks orders. We were hopefull at this point that our evening could finally begin. But those were shattered when we had to wait another 30mins for our drinks to be brought to the table and this was after we had asked several more staff if we were getting our drinks. We eventually got them an hr after arriving!. That was 1 hour into our 2 hr booked window so we had an hr to finish our drinks before it was time to leave. Bitterly disappointed. The poor staff were run off their feet. Clearly there were too many members of public for them to cope with. There was NO social distancing whatsoever. I don't blame the staff, i blame the management. Completely unprepared and it totally ruined our night. Won't be returning!!!!!!!

No staff, you don't get served despite asking for someone to come to your table during table service So far we've asked 6 times and are still waiting for a server, we've even asked for drinks and had then ordered and 25 mins later they haven't turned up

First pub we have been in where they are properly following the guidelines. Outdoor tables, table service, no need to go inside.

Was passing by at 5:30, decided to call in for a quick beer only to be presented with 3 bounces (who were friendly tbh) that stated that we had to book, no more walk in's... we walked past the pub and it was empty inside!! Does this make any sense... no!! We then walked over the road to GAS and was able to get a table even though it was very busy. This was the only pub on Brampton where this happened. Total BS, avoid... there are plenty of other bars to go on sat that are not as stupid as this

Was busy and rowdy as football was on. No toilet roll in one of the ladies cubicles and paper on the floor. Apparently the men's were minging with soiled paper on the floor. It's a shame as it's a nice pub with really stylish furniture

Visit the Spotted Frog regularly when down Brampton,a tastefully decorated pub plenty of different drinks to try all reasonably priced as well,good charachter/feel about the place and always pretty full on a Saturday evening,all staff friendly and welcoming, adds towards having a good night out when out with friends.

Major upgrade from its previous state. New owners and fully refurbishment has transformed this pub and is now strongly a part of what is becoming a new Brampton night out.

Ok re-vamp of Royal Oak. Hope it stays open more than a few months

Clean , heard no swearing, yet , friendly people and comfortable.

Very homely atmosphere, nice pub.

This place has recently been refurbished, so we decided to call for a drink to be nosey. We were pleasantly surprised, having open plan bar areas, this pub is larger than you think, with a large outdoor area. Would benefit from a green area as it has a large carpark area with some tables, away from the main road. Haven't tried the food yet but would recommend the bar on its own merit.
