45 minute wait for breakfast. Not even busy. Polite but uninterested staff. Breakfast not even that good when it arrived, dried out and poached egg tiny.

Went for a quick snack and a drink. Nobody on the till so had to wait for a bit, ordered toast and a sausage bap. Toast was barely done…. Food was low quality, wasn’t expecting fine dining but this was revolting. The worst thing was the dirty surroundings, filthy teapot, dirty tables and floor, cutlery felt dirty, the place had a really depressing feel to it. Will not visit again.

I nipped in to get some shopping and thought I would get a breakfast and hot chocolate as lunchtime. I ordered at the machine as no staff on till. I waited ages to get a mug and some cutlery. When a member of staff came out I asked to speak with a manager. A little while later a manager arrived, I explained about lack of cups, cutlery and mo reciept at the machine. She said that they had 2 people go sick and gave me a refund. Surely staff should be given help at busy lunch timed. When I eventually went to get my hot drink after getting a mug the machine only had latte but needed milk. Had to wait ages for a member of staff to say that the hot chocolate side was broken. I gave in and had a pot of tea instead with a disposable cup as no clean mug was brought back out to me. The seating area had alot of dirty trays etc on tables. My food came out whilst I was trying to get my drink, the bacon was under cooked, the mushrooms were very raw, the hash browns and sausages were over cooked and no butter for the toast. What a crap breakfast the staff did not seem to give a damm.

Very poor. No staff at checkout so paid at machine, but no butter available for my scone so still had to wait for a member of staff. Also then had to wait again for a member of staff to top up the coffee machine. No paper napkins available either.

This isn't just for the cafe, this is about the produce in morrisons prince charles road. I vote this supermarket site the worst in Exeter, it is a dreadful place and still very expensive for second rate fruit and vegetables. A disgrace

Good value Ultimate Breakfast at £6.99. Plenty on the plate, but sausages overcooked, almost burnt. Morrisons Exeter Cafe management don't seem to care very much about the general conditions in the cafe. The staff, always cheerful, have to work in difficult conditions. The whole place is seriously understaffed. There are constant problems with the coffee machine not working, no cutlery available. There were only 2 actual cups for coffee available today ! And that was only because the two customers in front of me, turned round and put them back in the rack, and walked out. After some discussion at the till about the menu. Still, at least I did have a cup then, even if it had been fingered. There were not even paper cups available as an alternative ! And frankly the management seemed to care less. The poor overworked staff, are just left to apologise for the many delays and shortages. This is not a criticism of the staff in any way, but the Morrisons Exeter Cafe management. I feel they would be happy to line up and throw the food over the barrier at the customers. Followed by the cutlery and cups.

We stopped by for a late lunch on Monday (today is Weds). There were two members of staff on and they had obviously been busy as there were lots of tables with trays left on them. We ordered food for ourselves and our three children. Food prices have risen alot since pre-pandemic. We paid £39 for meals, snacks and drinks. When the food arrived it looked very nicely cooked and I was very happy. HOWEVER, I took one bite from the sausage ( I had ordered a veggie all-day breakfast) and it was 100% meat. I have been veggie for 25 years and have eaten ALOT of veggie sausages in my time and it was unmistakably meat. It was pink inside, had a skin and smelled like a pork sausage. I asked the lady about this and she assured me it was veggie and went to get an empty packet to show me that it was a Richmond Meat-less vegan sausage. I did not believe her as my husband (carnivore through and through) tried it and said he also thought it was meat as he hates anything veggie. I left and this morning purchased and cooked some of the Richmond meat-less sausages which bore no resemblance whatsoever to the sausages I was served and were obviously meat-free. This was an unlawful act and I am lodging a complaint with the store. I have been veggie for so long and to be given meat sickens me to the stomach. Employees who obviously could not care less or who relish deceiving their innocent customers should not be there. Shame on you Morrisons :(

Sainsburys stopped serving their battered cod and chips which was very good and their substitute is awful. I don't appreciate them Nanny Stately advising what I can or cannot eat. So....I tried the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce at Morrisons and hey bingo! At last, fantastic fish.....I asked how it was made and told staff get the fish fresh from their in shop meat/fish counter and then batter and fry it - superb and the freshness is amazing. Well done Morrisons and goodbye Sainsburys who look more like a 3rd world warehouse daily. So a freshly fried battered piece of superb cod is served with chips, a bowl of mushy peas and pot of tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon with a mug of coffee/tea for only £7! An absolute bargain and I shall in future eat my fish meal there and do my shopping at the same time.

We waited over an hour for our food and complained 3 times, when it arrived it was inedible. Chips where over cooked as was the sorry looking eggs, my jacket potato was cremated and came with slaw which I asked not to be included. We were so hungry we ate what we could and asked to speak to the manager, alas she couldn't be located, strange that? Other customers near us had waited as long as us and where just as angry. Finally got to speak to a customer advisor who sorted out a refund for the food and a voucher to compensate the service we had, I don't think the half price food scheme will last very long if they have to keep refunding people.

Don’t expect any different from Morrisons as it’s a joke. When ever you go to hot food counter there is hardly any food available and you would of thought going there between 12:00-13:00 PM (lunch time) there would be lots, NO, don’t even have enough food to get a meal deal. This is not the first time and not the last. Always told to wait 8-10 minutes for more,NO, just have enough food for the working class so when they come in to get lunch there is lots of choices. Absolutely shocking customer service and now understand why the wife refuses to shop or even go in.

I'd read about Morrisons selling a new vegan sausage roll for £1, so I went to have a look. Whoever had written the article had got the price wrong, as they were selling it for £1.50. It was split in half and pastry was very flaky and very filling. I couldn't eat both at the same time, so I had half and the other half later on.

Those of you who read my posts will know that we will often have a meal at one of these establishments and as we were shopping here it made perfect sense before going home !! Last week in the Teignmouth Branch we see that someone had ordered the Half Chicken and chips, so this is what we ordered as they hadn't got any large fish. When it arrived(mine with baked beans my wife went with the peas) the chips were lovely and crisp and the chicken literally fell off the bone as you cut into it. Because of where the store is they seemed to have plenty of staff to cope and food was on the tables very quickly. The staff as ever are polite and obliging. One thing about the chicken and chips is if you are not a big eater then it is best to have something else as it is a large meal.

We often see the "kids eat free" deal and have never took advantage of it....until today when we came in to do some shopping. You can place your order on the self service kiosk; i ordered 2 x all day brunch, gammon, egg & chips, 2 x kids chicken nugget meal, with 5 x drinks plus 2 kids chocolate sundae all for less than £19 as kids ate free if an adult pays over £4.50 for their meal. Kids can have a sundae for an extra £1 if they have food. We had to remind the staff about our sundae as our table number was taken away when our main meal came and number was given to someone else without realising we had desserts left to come. This wasn't a problem and desserts soon arrived. Staff was friendly and tables were clean. We arrived at 5:45 and at first i thought the restaurant was closed but it wasnt, however it soon got busier around 6:30. Food didnt take long to arrive and we all enjoyed our meals - 5 empty plates. We will return here as was very impressed with our meals. Would recommend a visit here if you are looking for cheap eats.

We have been to the cafe about 4 times in the last 2 years, usually because we felt too weary to cook. Each time the service has been appallingly slow. Last time we went in December it was 6pm peak tea time to my mind. We decided what to eat from the menu but were greeted by a nice till assistant with a long list of items that were off. Even though we tried between the five of us we couldn’t all find something to choose. We gave up bought pizza and salad instead.

Pretty awful, ordered a cappuccino, the cups were nr the checkout, away from the coffee machine, overfilled the cup, was a pale grey colour under the froth. Took it back and got a black coffee which I only half filled as it put a tiny bit of coffe in and then was filling up with hot water! Ugg the worst coffe I've had anywhere tasteless! Waited 20 minutes for a tiny portion of chips, which were barely cooked, hard and luke warm. I know it was busy but really very poor, won't be back. Used to be good value here but not since the update.

Good old Morrison with their Kid Eat Free deal...everything we ordered was not available so we had to choose again...then to find I couldn't even have my second choice which was an omelette! Come on, you sell eggs in the store or mores to the point everything is microwaved so it was too difficult to cook! When the food arrived it looked ok but the chips were disgusting...not sure if they were microwaved. My daughters chicken breast was dry as a bone and nuked to hell. The fish was nice so we all shared it because the rest was awful. What a disappointment...not even half good I would have rather given the money to charity.

We popped in for a very late lunch or an early dinner. They had run out of the gammon and pies and weren't able to substitute an omelette from the early menu, always supposing they had any of those. LISTEN PEOPLE you have a large larder in your own back yard. If you run out of gammon or whatever then go to your own supermarket and buy some. It's not rocket science it's not gourmet food it's supposed to be cheap and cheerful and on this visit you couldn't even manage either of those. We eventually ordered fish and the liver. The fish arrived eventually after the liver, it was a tad under cooked but edible. Sadly we can't say the same about the liver. The mash was cold and the gravy had the consistency of wet cement. How do you manage to do that? Even the chips that came with the fish were uncooked and hard in the middle. How can you get chips wrong? We gave up in the end and just abandoned it all. Sadly this isn't the first or second time we have had indifferent food and service here. It will however be the last. A great shame as this café has been a nice asset to the store and area. Judging by this last visit it won't be there for much longer and that's a pity for all of us.

I occasionally eat at Morrisons cafes as you can get quite a decent feed at a reasonable price. Nonetheless I am still staggered that a restaurant/cafe at a supermarket can run out of basic staples such as chicken or eggs. No jokes about which came first please! Very curiously however, they had run out of scrambled eggs not fried eggs and had run out of roast chicken not Hunters Chicken which I eventually settled for.Trying to order the food was like something that Victor Meldrew would endure. Nonetheless the food appeared in commendably quick time and was hot and plentiful but rather unattractive,,my lump of coleslaw looking a little incongurous sat in a sea of barbecue sauce. All in all a mixed bag,not brilliant but not the worst meal I have ever eaten.

Ok, its a supermarket cafe, but you'll have to look very hard indeed in Exeter to beat it for value and quality. It's recently opened, the prices are a steal, the food quality is extremely good and the staff are very pleasant people. A good variety of hot and cold food is on offer, including vegetarian options. The cafe itself feels light and airy with plenty of room around the tables (ideal for people with limited mobility) and it has a 'community' feel. The only downside is that word is getting around about how good it is so the queues can be a bit long at peak times. Oh - if you leave it too late you'll probably find that they have sold out of their 'famous' fish and chips.

Came here are ordered 2 coffees and two breakfasts. Coffees were great. Staff came over with 2 plates of toast and said for us. No we replied. I showed the receipt and was told there had been an error. Fine, things happen. Then came back with 2 small breakfasts, so showed receipt showing 1 small and 1 large. Third time lucky? Noooo. Right orders but food lukewarm at best. Given a refund but that was a palaver. I'm afraid that is the last time I'd order food from here.

Worst cup of Costa coffee ever. I ordered cappuccino but when drinking it I realised it was over half froth and hardly any actual coffee, my husband didn't drink his Americano at all as it was so bitter. We used to go to all our local (Devon) Costas quite a bit, but hardly ever go now as they are all going downhill. Tables were filthy too (as they are in all the Costas). Also, coffee served in paper cups even if you are drinking in, instead of them making the effort to do the washing up.

Waited in the queue to order for 15 minutes , then 40 minutes to get our food ! With a 2 year old and a 4 year old this is really poor! There were only about 10 people in the whole restaurant ! The food was mostly ok but daughter’s jacket potato not hot ! Will not risk it again and have had to wait a long time in previous visits but this has finished us for trying again !!! And they had no drinks left for the children’s meals and there was some cheese in the children’s beans and they are allergic to dairy !!!!!
