Morrisons Cafe in South Cambridgeshire

I much prefer the cafe at the St Ives Morrisons, which appears to have more staff. So tables are cleared and cleaned more quickly etc. They also offer free coffee refills!!

This is the second time, first time thought it was the staff member’s bad day, today a different staff member, similar negative experience. almost like we are unwanted. Served cold peas with the fish and chips, I will not recommended this cafe

Substitute 4 things off a breakfast and can’t sub anything in. Woman on the till was rude. Awful experience. Would definitely not go back for breakfast

Visited here yesterday for lunch, there was a really bad smell throughout the whole cafe, it got so bad we just left our food and drinks and walked out.

Visited this cafe several times and always the same. It’s very cold outside today, and the air con is blasting full making it very unpleasant to sit in. Scrambled eggs come out rubbery. Service inconsistent. Last time visiting today. Wouldn’t recommend.

The cafe was absolutely freezing. Guy on the till didn't know what he was doing and was very slow in serving. Members of the public were showing him things on the till. More training needed I think. The breakfast came out stone cold. The floor of the cafe was filthy too. This was at 9am Never again

It’s alright as far as a supermarket cafe goes. Food comes out hot and very tasty. It’s tidy most of the time, busy periods it can become messy but that’s expected. Hot drink machine only gives out half/two thirds of a cup.

Good coffee, affordable prices, friendly staff.

I hadn't been to this Morrisons cafe for a long time and sadly it is now a shadow of what it used to be. In the past it was reasonable food, good value for money and the system worked well. Today (Sat) the ordering system at the entrance was broken and everything ordered at the till had to be checked with the kitchen, needless to say, a lot of basics were not available. Foodwise the all day breakfast was very good as was the chicken but the steak and kidney pie was nuked and charred inside, on the verge of being unfit for human consumption. The coffee and tea were good to be fair. I feel sorry for the staff at this cafe, they have to constantly give bad news to the customers about the menu and take responsibility for what results from under-staffing and poor management of the cafe. On balance, keep your expectations low for this cafe and probably give it a miss.

Love going to Morrisons cafe. The food is great, the customer service is great, prices very reasonable. My only disappointment was the cutlery, cups, trays and teapots etc looked grubby. If a dishwasher is used it needs cleaning, if not better care in washing up would be great.

Treated my son to lunch we both had fish and chips. The food was excellent 👌 the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked reasonably priced too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was good clean table's and surrounding areas. Will definitely be going back in the near future.

Automated ordering, convenient. No receipt available when on a business trip less so. Food good value, arrived promptly. Job done.

Popped in for coffee and a snack. First thing we noticed was the cleanliness, not the best in fact filthy!!! Used the cleanest coffee machine, and got half a cup! Finally got to the till and stood there whilst the staff member cleared tables, meanwhile the half cups of coffee was going cold. Mozzers Cambourne you used to be great, sort this disaster out.

Morrison. Please close the damn cafe. I lived in Cambourne for several years before 2019 when i sold my house. Until then good supermarket, good cafe. Still do unline grocery shopping. Not too bad. The Cafe , absolute rubbish, no hand sanitiser! cluttered tables ,Surly cafe staff, no plates for cakes from counter. I will not go there again. CLOSE IT MORRISON - cant get any lower!

I was at the cafe in the Morrison's store in Cambourne this afternoon. The plates put out for customers to put cakes on were not clean. I picked the top one up thinking I'd use the next one, but that had crumbs on it. I ended up having a coffee which was good, but I noticed that the floor near the table I was sitting at was very dirty. What looked like a milkshake had been spilt, and there was also food surrounding it. Not a pleasant sight when you're relaxing with a drink, and worse if you're eating something. I don't know if they are cutting back on staff who should be watching for things like this and cleaning throughout the day? Is it left to the chap who is taking the money at the till to clean up before he finishes his shift? I've been less than enamoured in the past with the quality of cooked food I've eaten here, and determined never to eat here again, and now, I won't even want to stop for a coffee. This place needs a shake up!

What cutlary there was was dirty and stained. Store was a mess with boxes everywhere. Shoppers has difficulty pushing g trolleys around the mess.

I went with my family and we ordered a hot chocolate, they served us disgusting hot water mixed with floating brow powder which was Not chocolate. It was repulsive. We ordered a coffee and it was the same, water mixed with bitter floating coffee grounds I am very disappointed and disgusted I won't be returning here Ever

Visited this cafe for a breakfast, which really was nice, but the whole experience was completely spoilt by it being absolutely freezing in there. Don't expect to eat with my coat, scarf and hat on and still be cold.

We went in for roast chicken and didn't have it for the 5 time I give up dont even tell you on the board You get told after you Queued up up for 10 minutes so annoying Won't be eating there again

Tables were left uncleaned. Had to clean the table myself. Cutleries were not refllied even after asking a staff member. :(

After taking the bus to Cambridge to visit the food and craft fayre I decided against having anything to eat or drink there as the prices were exorbitant and designed to rip off the tourists. Instead I decided to get off the 905 bus to have a meal at Morrisons cafe and then get another bus back home. The cafe is very uninviting. The computerised ordering machine at the entrance was out of action. There were only four people in the queue in front of me but everything they tried to order it was, "We are out of stock of this, out of stock of that, out of stock of the other" and it took ages. When I got to the till they did actually have what I wanted and I paid for my order. Then I walked over to get my cutlery and ketchup. I was about to walk to my table when the girl who served me approached and said my meal would be "at least 20 minutes, if that's alright ?" I was thinking, "Mmmm, AT LEAST 20 MINUTES", so could be half an hour, could be 45 minutes, might even be an hour", so I said no it wasn't alright and asked for a refund. It was difficult to pinpoint a table as a lot of them were piled up with detritus and needed clearing and cleaning so it was probably a good thing I didn't eat there. Neither will I return.

This Morrisons relies too much on their automated tills. I will no longer use them & bared myself from this store as one broke down just as I paid, (contactless). The machine froze before printing a receipt & I was told I couldn't take my shopping even though the money had been taken as the till hadn't recognised the payment. I was asked to pay again at another till, but didn't have enough. Just a joke!! paying cash from now on

I visited the cafe at Morrisons supermarket in Cambourne with my husband on Saturday 11 June 2022. We went early as had quite a bit of shopping to get in the store. After ordering food and drink ourselves on the pre order machine, we waited ages for the food to arrive and when it came, although it was presented well on the plate, the food was not hot. The poached egg was stone cold. My husband's food, with a fried egg, was also not hot. As we had waited a long time to be served we did not return our food as we wanted to get on with our shopping and get back home to Royston. I did not enjoy the food and felt nauseous walking around the store. Sorry to say that I will not be buying breakfast again at Morrisons Cambourne which is a shame as I really like this store and Morrisons products and the Morrisons online home delivery service is outstanding. The best of all the supermarkets as I have tried them all during the pandemic.

Called in the cafe for fish and chips No fish. Dose that make sense

2pm Sunday afternoon and only serving breakfasts. Requested poached eggs,"sorry we have just sold the last 2". Apparently they are not made fresh in store but come pre packed. No wonder the place is empty.

had a morrissons breakfast today 22/04/22 the breakfast was well presented and looked really nice started to eat it the fried bread was really very greasy sausages not cooked very good tomato was raw i just put it down the the staff being understaffed as the girls were running about like headless chickens got through most of my brekkie but just got the taste of grease in my mouth no amount of drink could get rid of it any way we paid up and went on our way but had to stop about 10 minutes down the road as i felt my stomach rumbling and i thought its going to come back at me so pulled in and it did all i could taste was fried bread and egg disgusting taste so i dont think i shall bother again with breakfast at morrissons

Popped in for lunch but the service at the till was pitifully slow. Didn't get what I ordered but the food was good so didn't quibble.

We have used the Cafe many times to have a drink or something to eat and it has all been good but we have noticed thing have gone downhill, the staff we notice seem under so much strain to keep up with there work as there seem fewer of them. Take Sunday a lot of people were queuing at lunch time, not surprising and the people in front of us turn and said the person on the till said meals were taking half an hour so we decided to do our bit of shopping first and went back after at which point it had quietened down, so I gave the order while my husband looked for a table, there were plenty to choose from but most had not been cleared from the rush and the one my husband found I got serviettes and the cleaning spray and wiped the table down, I notice another couple clearing a table down so they could have one. We knew they were a couple of people in front of us and we saw them get their meals and the couple who were after us I think. Nothing came our way, we did notice a staff change in that time, anyway I looked at my watch and saw we had been waiting 40minutes a few moments later our meal came, We noticed that it maybe not as hot as it usually but it was now 2.15pm and we were very hungry. After we finished I went to get us a cup of tea. the first mug I picked up was dirty so I replaced it and gave the dirty one to the gentleman who was now on the till I mentioned I notice their dishwasher was not doing a good job these days as it is often hard to find clean cutlery and he said "Yes it is time we need a new dishwasher, we have mentioned it" . Please note we have found the same at other Supermarket cafe cutlery that does not look clean. We all know the last couple of years have been tough and many have not got back to staffing levels but expecting 3 people to deal with busy time is not good for the staff or the customer especially from the hygiene point of view. Management please give your staff the tools to do their job.

Do it yourself coffee machine out of coffee beans had to wait a while for staff to reload machine. Coffee machine only dispensed half a cup full of coffee with no milk to make it a latte. Had to hunt a round looking for side plates, no sugar sachets overall very poorly run cafe. Disappointing customer experience, will go elsewhere in future

It's a good café for a reasonable breakfast. Coffee is good considering it's out of a machine. Cleanliness has to be better

Greasy food, dirty tables and ignorant staff. On a plus though it is slightly better than The Monkfield Arms !!

Blame it on covid. what used to be an acceptable menu is now an apology for food. tasteless food and invisible staff , apart from the delivery of the food. will not be returning.

I had a lovely breakfast from the Morrisons cafe that was reasonably priced and very tasty. Service was very quick and surprisingly the food didn't taste stale like some cafe food. Alongside this I had a lovely strawberry cheesecake which was perfect.

This store frequently runs out of milk for those shopping before 11 am when the delivery is made. Today when I asked a manager (drafted in from another store) why they did not order more he replied that the amount was decided by the computer....

I was well pleased with the service I got at the cafe, it was my first time getting a cooked breakfast at the cafe and I was not disappointed at all, the food was cooked to perfection and well priced.

Rather than have our usual sandwiches whilst travelling popped into the café for some warm food. No welcome on arrival and thus no indication about using track and trace. We did fill in form as knew the procedure from visits to other Morrisons stores. No...

Stopped off for breakfast, the covid precautions where tasteful and subtle. The staff member was excellent offering excellent customer service without being over the top. Food was quick tasty and hot.

Ordered food after quite a wait. Very slow to be served considering there was only 1 person in front. Ordered jacket potato withl chilli, which was really good, and vegetarian sausages, chips, egg and beans which was average. Can't really complain as with 2 cold...

We Had an order for our family of 6. We each had a meal and a drink and the cost was just around £30! There was plenty on the plartes and the food was fabulous.

Quick service, great food at good prices. Plenty of space to sit. Facilities for warming baby food. Unlimited coffee, hot chocolate and tea for an amazing price. Well worth a drop in if you're doing your shopping or are passing.

Awful, poor service, dirty Crockery

First thing on a Sunday morning, floors and tables very dirty, no napkins. Ordered a poached egg only to be told they haven't got any. Food only just warm when it did arrive

It's cheap to eat here but the food is never great. I guess you get what you pay for.

I've visited this spot a few times now to do a little work in the Café, while having a hot drink and a quick snack, on every visit even though it's winter the Aircon is always blasting, every customer keeps their jackets and scarves on...

Never have any food. Always shut. The staff have no idea what they’re doing and the bacon is reheated and it’s rock hard. Really disappointing I would come eat here every day if this place wasn’t so awful

Its dirty every thing greasy and the food is under done over done every apart from cooked properly I understand it's only a supermarket cafe but if you go to tesco cafe u will get good food and clean utilities

I find Morrisons café always a reliable place for a decent bite to eat. Quite often there's a deal available to suit my dining choices.

Standard food for a very cheap price. Café is usually dirty, but all in all it's okay.

We had a very good lunch of fish and chips. Couldn’t fault it and very reasonably priced. Less than half the price of most places. It soon came and the quality was excellent.

Worst place for food ever! Took my 3 kids and wife here, most of the food was unavailable the drinks machine was empty, 2 members of staff, I had the half chicken which was raw, my daughter had macaroni cheese which looked like custard on pasta, the onion rings we had come out raw it was a joke how they can serve food like this is beyond me, avoid if you don't want food poisoning!

My mum often ventures here with my Grandad and have been here before myself with my partner as i find the shopping is very good. And have on the odd occasion used the cafe. It was very basic and for the money you paid its what you expect. However this visit was awful. My mum, me and partner came out to get some food for home and stuff for home as we recently moved house. We wanted a drink and some cake so we went to the cafe first. We saw the "self service" screen and entered our order and the screen told us to take a number and a seat and our food would be brought to us. So we did. Only to have an older lady approach us a few minutes later asking if we had ordered food. I told her no just cakes and coffees but the machine told us to take a number and a seat. She then proceeded to shout across the floor to her colleagues how we had not ordered food and getting a bit aggravated at us, told me to go and get my cakes and coffee/teas and go and pay where i was meant to! I told her i have paid and she looked at me shook her head and walked off. We were then told that the machine is only meant for people to order main meals and we needed to get the rest ourselves. However no where did it say that on the machine. We didn't mind however we said its a misunderstanding we'll just get it. Walked up there they didn't have enough cake out for what we wanted and when i asked if there was any more round back i go a sharp "no!" back from the lady who had shouted at us before. I then though fine i will find out prices and swap mine for something else. Then i walked to the tea and coffee making area and low and behold there was no tea bags and no milk in the coffee machine so i couldn't even make my drinks! At this point i turned to my mum and said sorry to her as i was going to have to ask for a refund and leave. I am a manager at a restaurant and i was godsmacked at 1. The service and 2. The fact they didn't even bother with their stock levels! They seemed baffled as to why i wanted a refund?! I was humiliated by a older lady shouting across the store, accused of not paying and overall spoken to as if i was stupid. I would not condone this attitude from my staff. I have been here on more than once occasion and like i say you get what you pay for. Service was never fantastic, but it has never been this bad. We left and continued our shopping - pretty much the reason i didn't give 1 star is because i love the shop. But personally i will avoid the cafe in the future. I think the cafe needs to work on their staff and the way they handle situations like this. As if i wasn't spoken to so rudely i may have waited for them to refill the tea and milk and not asked for a refund. Shame.

Morrisons cafe at Cambourne was relaxing, the food was great value and the staff were helpful and polite, a couple of months ago I stopped going to this cafe because the music was so loud and the temperature was so cold, but I decided to give it another try and I'm glad I did, so as long as they keep it warm and don't turn the music up I shall be a regular customer,

Morrisons instore café Now updated since the last visit tables and chairs are no longer bolted in fixed positions but free standing tables and chairs also has an optional extra of having second part of your meal brought out after the main with a second number system that is placed on the table stand when you are ready

We went shopping and thought about eating there. Restaurant has very few things to choose from. Fish n chips,rice n curry and onion baji wrap and another wrap, dont remember. All in all nothing interesting. We just walked away.

At 13.30 on a Sunday you would not think that you would be able to get a Table in a Supermarket Cafe. I was surprised to find No Shortage at all. I then found the Reason, I had to wait for Cups for a Hot Drink as did the Family in front of me, I ordered the Big Daddy Breakfast (Sorry we are not Doing Breakfasts) ok I will have a Jacket Potato (Sorry we are out of Jacket Potatoes) finally ended up with Fish and Chips.. Sat quite close to the Till and overheard lots of Customers being Told limited Availability due to Short Staff in the Kitchen. If I hadn't dispensed the Hot Drinks before ordering I would have gone elsewhere. Something needs to be done to Improve the Service..

Went for quick lunch. Ordered jacket and cheese came quite quickly but potato wasn't hot so sent it back was offered to have it heated in microwave but declined. then ordei steak pie mash and gravy pie was nice and hot but gravy was cold and mash wah hardly warm. Very dissatisfied

Wide choice of food and great value for money. You need to be a bit patient waiting for it to be cooked but it's worth it. Wait due to how busy it gets I suspect, especially at weekend like today. Probably half the price you'd pay in local cafes and quality just as good.
