Morrison's Cafe in Castle Point

This cafe was absolutely appalling. The coffe machines were all broken and leaving all muck on the floor. The tables were not cleaned at all. All of the cutlery hadn’t been cleaned properly. The sausage rolls were hard and horrible. Limited seating. Not many staff. Slow queue for food. Machine to order food on but can do it at the counter. Horrible cafe would not recommend don’t bother with it. Waste of time very disappointed. Poor service. HORRIBLE!!!

Don't bother. Very disappointing. Took the grandkids for lunch and we were met with dirty tables, dirty cutlery, no small spoons or stirrers. Food was adequate, service poor. The coffee machines were out of order and although there were plastic cones positioned around the spills, nobody had bothered to mop up the mess, resulting in everyone standing in the long queue skidding about on the liquids. Come on Morrisons, you can do better than that!

The food is as good as can be expected from a supermarket cafe. What isn’t on is the dirty tables and having to ask for them to be cleaned. Surely a staff member should be actively keeping g the place clean and tidy?? The staff are friendly enough though.

Staff not at all helpful . No sugar for coffee , staff not that interested. Won't recommended them as a friendly helpful place

Came here today for lunch with the family, was shocked that most items on the menu were not in stock, even Hot water was not available! Why bother opening if you can’t get the basics right! No sign to say about the troubles, think it’s terrible. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

I went in Morrisons cafe yesterday, at least 6 tables had trays of plates on them. Then I had to get some serviettes and cleaner to clean the table. It was all pretty bad. Today I went in again, I know gluten for punishment, and tables that had not been cleared or cleaned. Had to clean our table again. Ordered food which arrived surprisingly quickly for this store. However the mash was cold and had a dried out crust on it. I dont understand why this cafe can not get it together. They need one member of staff allocated solely to collecting trays and cleaning.

There was a hair in my food and when I went and asked for a new plate they complained at me the customer service is not great especially when I spoke to the manager , and when I finished my food they asked me to leave immediately I was there with family and we were so upset , would not recommend!

We have been coming to Morrisons cafe for 10 years . Today we visited for lunch and we had the best surprise. The lunches we ordered were first class and the best we have ever had in all this time. We told the lady who served us (Kim)and she admitted shyly that she has taken over as cook. MY! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! She said she cooked our meals from scratch. And both meals plus hot drinks came to under £13. Hope Kim continues with the cooking! It was like a first class meal! Thanks.

Initially we thought of just having a coffee, by=ut then thought of a meal. One item when we went to order was not available so we were talked into the the Xmas lunch when a pamphlet beside the till was shown to us by a humourless member off staff. We ordered 1 tea and as we were the only ones in there so we assumed we would not have to wait too long. 25 minutes later there was no sign of the drinks but the meal was delivered. I wondered I had ordered the wrong item on the menu as I was unable to recognise 1 item on the plate. It was a dark brown with a slightly darker ring around the outside. When I turned it over I realised this was the turkey which on sampling was probably similar to what I imagine to be the tyres on my car. There was great lump of soothing which I think was the stuffing but it seems to have taken up residence on the plate and I did not like to disturb it.. The yorkshire pudding had elastic qualities I have not experienced for some time. This was the worst meal I have ever had, prompting for the first time to speak to a manager and request a refund which was graciously provided. Do not think that we did that the prec=vious poor reviews must have resulted in change as it has not. A cup of tea might be alright if you do not have a bus to catch but do not consider anything else.

Definitely average fare offered by this supermarket. Completely satisfactory but nothing to write home about. O.K. For a quick bite whilst shopping but definitely not worth the effort to make a decisive visit.

For a quick cheap breakfast it’s ok, service a little shabby but it’s clean and quick if your in a hurry!

Ordered a breakfast came out mostly warm at best. It was just so cold in there. I was freezing. It was very uncomfortable to sit in as I couldn’t feel my hands. Such a waste of money. I cannot eat cold food and you can tell it’s pre cooked and sat on the side. Very poor

While doing a spot of shopping in morrisons Hadleigh we decided to go into the cafe for a coffee and a sausage sandwich. Placed our order and got our coffee our food was deliver very swiftly so no complaints . Would visit again

Called in for a quick dinner. Chose fish and chips and it was lovely,what I call"proper fish",lovely flakes and not that awful much you sometimes get. Thoroughly enjoyed it and am surprised at some of the bad reviews

Popped in Morrisons for a few items . We thought we’d have a coffee and breakfast. I had 2 eggs on toast and my wife had her usual sausage sandwich. Our order was taken promptly by Michelle and within a few minutes arrived at our table and very nice it was to

My husband and I always shop in Morrisons at the weekend. Occasionally we treat ourselves to lunch while we are there.Their food is always very good and well cooked. They have a large choice on the menu and friendly staff.

I ordered Steak Pie, Mashed Potatoe and Peas. Was told it was the last one left!! Staff member bought plate of food to my table but did not even attempt to clear away debris from previous diner. I looked at my plate and it was one of the most unappetising sights I have ever seen.. Dark green Peas, a large "dollop" of dry mashed Potatoe and a Pie that had a broken top with the dry gravy burnt to the edges...I then dipped into the said Pie and it was stone cold and congealed. I called a staff member over and she said I will sort it out for you. ( still ignoring all the used crockery on my table and the mess). She bought it back 45 seconds later with a bit of steam coming from it. The small jug of Gravy was by now a thick gloopy and lumpy mess, The Potatoes were even drier and the Peas the same. I would also like to comment on the dirty Cutlery which I have complained about before to the staff and was told its because it's been through the dishwasher!!!! so has mine at home but it doesn't come out with stuff stuck to it! I used to order the Eggs Benedict until they stopped toasting the Muffin and the sauce just soaked into the bread which just left a soggy mess. Needs a big improvement and some Customer Service training for the lazy staff!!!

We have always liked the flying start but haven’t had one for ages ( diet ) so after being good decided to have a treat Wrong they change the menu now you get a builders, light or veggie one a few others, so we decided on the light. After getting our coffees and waiting and waiting for someone to take our order and your drinks getting cold. Waited for about five minutes ( not bad ) our breakfast came up well the egg was just thrown on it was half a rasher of bacon, sausage not the same and the hash brown was disgusting. Why change a good format if builders come in they usually pick what they want. Bring back the flying start, this breakfast is terrible

Found food quite dry. Felt as though had been cooked awhile and heated up. Shame eaten before and had a better meal

This place deserves a few better reviews and we were suitable impressed with the breakfasts. The place is light and airy with plenty of seating and the staff were quick to clear tables where customers hadn't. There is a good choice of sandwichs, snacks, cakes and a lovely separate section for the children where they can chose a sandwich, piece of fruit and three snacks plus a drink all for £3. The hot food is ordered at the till after you have selected anything else you require. There is plenty of choice on the breakfast menu even eggs benedict which my husband chose and loved. I chose a small breakfast and as i don't eat fried eggs i could chose to substitute it with another item. Once you have paid you are given a number to display on your table so as soon as your food is ready it is brought directly to the table and though it was busy week only waited about ten minutes which i don't feel is excessive. The coffee is exceptional good and my husband went back for a second cup and he is very fussy about his coffee. The staff are all extremely pleasant and friendly and nothing is to much trouble and they must be doing something right as the place was so busy.

We called in before grand son went on school levers trip. The food came up after a wait. Not bad service and value.

Before you go anywhere check trip advisor!! If somewhere does'nt have at least one excellent take heed!!!

Lots of people I know go to the cafe a Morrison’s so I decided to try it wish I had not bothered its soooo slow nothing wrong with the food it’s all as you would expect ...it just the speed or lack of it . Maybe it’s an age thing but I am not young myself so can rule that one out

Visited this Cafe for breakfast after a recommendation. The Cafe was clean and the staff friendly. We placed our order and our food arrived in good time. The breakfast was very good especially as they offer fried bread; which I haven't had for many years. Portion size good and worth every penny.

where do i start .... rude staff that have no people skills nor upon ordering are aware of the menu and if they even have the meals available .huge mix ups when serving the food they dont even remove the cellophane of the starters ..roast dinners were cold the mash potatoes would make great glue ..meal not at all tasty all cooked in a microwave and half cooked . decided not to try desert as the 1st 2 courses were so dreadful i had to leave as after the staff dismissing me and making excuses i felt i could not stomach anymore.. its safe to say i will NOT be returning to eat here again !!!

See title if you are then choose somewhere else! Food IS good, it IS good value, service is pleasant BUT a 40 minute wait not acceptable

Staff are always slow to clear tables.

Clean tidy good menu good prices food is freshly cooked so is what you expect but better than most supermarket cafes.

After shopping I took my 6 year old to the cafe for tea and the staff are very friendly, choice of food for kids is good and she got a free little figure. There are large lockers for trolleys so you can relax while you're eating/drinking. I didn't eat but if I had, my daughter's meal would have been free. Would visit again.

Visited the supermarket today always good i might add,and decided to have a breakfast in the cafe.i ordered two big breakfasts a t£ 4.50 each, the food arrived in good speed.and we were presented with the works.As a supermarket breakfast goes very hard to beat. .Staff were nice and friendly and the restaurant was clean.I will return.
