Morrisons Barry Cafe in The Vale of Glamorgan

If you are looking to go to Morrisons supermarket in Barry do not expect to be able to buy a coffee, tea etc as all the machines have broken down and have been like that for over two months!!

Breakfast awful bacon well undercooked..just one lady running around like chicken.three poeple talking in kicthen.i was trying to find someone to cook my bacon there was 3 poeple talking in your kitchen would not return..my wife went to use toilets they were so dirty she never use them .come on it seem it's getting worse ..

Broken fried egg, hard beans, hard bacon, not very nice sausage and awful tea. No forks and hot water machine still being cleaned - after many months. No more ordering from the table, back to the teapot card holder. I really feel for the staff because I am sure there are many complaints.

Tried to a order a meal deal for my self and a tuna jacket for my partner after 20 mins and three staff was unable to do so we then ordered fisherman’s pie for myself and a cheese and bean jacket after a further 20 min wait our food arrived to my surprise my dollop of fisherman’s pie and peas didn’t even fill half a plate and the fish within the mash was over cooked asked a member of staff if this was normal and her response was normally comes in a bowl for £6.50 this is absolutely unacceptable

Terrible meal...un interested staff.. not sure what has happened to the cafe but certainly won't be going back !! Such a shame as store is fab..

Since the changes to the menu the food has been awful. I used to enjoy the tuna crunch jacket potato and the breakfast. Recently I went for lunch with family, I scanned the new menu and decided on my usual tuna crunch jacket potato. At the till I was asked where we’d be sitting. Though as I looked around I could not see one table that wasn’t overflowing with other peoples crockery and rubbish. A table had to be cleared and cleaned for us to even sit down. When the food arrived I could see instantly this was not the crunch of old. Despite the fact the menu does not warn you this is a new mixture or list it’s contents anywhere. Had it of done so I’d of not of ordered it, instead of the usual cucumbers and red onion that previously was freshly made. It is now pre bought, I was informed and stuffed full of peppers which I hate. I returned to the till, explaining my issue, expecting at least a refund as the error is theirs for not informing customers. No such luck, so I paid again, this time for a build a breakfast. I’d ask for poached eggs but was told they were out of poached eggs but oddly I could order fried egg? I guess the chicken that lays the poached eggs was off that day. The mind boggles. I paired this with sausage, mushrooms and 2 slices of brown toast. By the time it came out, everyone was done eating. I was instantly put off by the thick layer of fat sitting atop of my eggs. I received 1 slice of toast not the two I’d paid for which they did rectify. My toast was pre buttered whether I liked that or not. The bread is now seeded which I do not enjoy. The sausage I quickly learnt after a bite was another change. Awful. As I sunk my fork into the new flat mushroom and saw a chip pans worth of grease flood out, I completely lost my appetite. Are they deep frying these things? Seriously. So two meals paid for and by the end of it I’d eaten two egg yolks on 1 slice of seeded toast and a bite of a sausage. I will not be returning. The unsanitary conditions, teamed with horrendous food and zero customer service is enough to ensure that.

I have had many breakfasts at Barry , not one has been fresh bacon always hard , I even chocked on it and lost my breath !! , I have learned my lesson now , need new staff

While doing shopping in morrison’s we decided to have the Christmas dinner, what a let down, all the veg were way overcooked, the sprouts were more like mush, the gravy was lumpy & tasted yuk, the yorkshires were ok but where they were put on the plate there was a pool of grease, almost making it inedible. The food used to be very good but for some reason it has gone downhill, I don’t think we will be eating here again.

This used to be a great cafe for food, the fish used to be really good, but now the batter is horrible, swimming in oil, what a let down, we don’t eat here as often.

Mum and I stopped for breakfast this morning at the store as we've eaten here many times before lockdown. The coffee was luke warm and terrible and the bread used for the bacon sandwich was so thick with no butter, hardly any bacon and full of fat. The staff were lovely however we felt sorry for them as there weren't enough of them and service was very poor. Lots of tables were dirty and people were queuing and nobody behind the counter serving. The staff were having to do everything which was impossible. Customers were just walking out. So disappointed, waste of money and won't be going back especially with other coffee places around the vacinity.

What a disappointment , inedible food , slow service and a real let down .we had 2 big breakfasts and 1 ultimate It was just plates of grease , the hash browns were green and the sausage was barely cooked . The bacon was raw . We usually eat at our local Morrison’s at home so while on a weekend away we thought we could trust Morrison’s for a quality breakfast , how wrong can you be ! Avoid

Brilliant store, everything easy to find and amazing prices. Lovely staff and if you ever got an issue Customer Services will always help to ensure your issue is handled professionally. When social distancing was introduced the staff would be there handing out free bottles of water and that didn’t happen in other stores! Highly recommended 👍

We ordered our food from the self service machine and went to sit down to wait for our food. The food came out quite quick and the woman who served us was lovely, she told us to tell the staff on the till when we were ready for them to start cooking our pudding as we had also ordered this with our mains. When we went to tell them we were ready for pudding and the staff said ‘ we were meant to close fully 15 minutes ago’. Bare in mind we had already paid for our food and expected to have it. If they had a time limit someone should have came up to us and said so. They brought out the puddings and as he puts it down his finger goes into the custard, it was obvious he knew he had done it but didn’t acknowledge this and finished serving us. Two of them was sitting around chatting, but obvious they was waiting for us to leave which made us very uncomfortable about finishing pudding. I don’t appreciate being made to feel guilty for paying for my food, the cafe wasn’t even closed properly as staff was clearing away and cleaning the kitchen.

My wife and I decided to eat here again, we both had the fish and chips with peas & a drink for £5.75p, the staff were friendly and the food was very good and it didn’t take long to arrive, we will definitely eat here again.

We had breakfast here today . It was ok but a shame they have changed the breakfast menu so we just had a bacon roll. Staff were friendly as usual.

Cheap for a reason. The food was cold. Staff were not friendly and service was poor. Avoid this place as even though it’s cheap the meals are not worth the money.

It sounds daft to recommend a supermarket cafe for fine dinning but the fish and chips are absolutely wonderful. Not greasy at all and wonderful fresh fish. Chips are proper chips!
