Morrisons in Chesterfield

Visited for the first time because the dog was in the vets. Good car parking. Shop is a bit random having been used to a much more modern Morrisons in Wick, although we did find chocolates, wrapping paper and socks which were good value. The cafe was OK but none of the coffee machines were working and you had to make it yourself from a jar of Morrisons instant coffee. Eventually got to the till where we found it to be free. People seemed to be enjoying the food.

After picking up grandkids and at the time feeling a little hungry having just finished work I decided to call in Morrisons in Staveley to grab a bite to eat.Was going to have fish and chips but the fish had sold out at lunch time so I decided to have the all day breakfast, I was left wondering if that meant the breakfast I'd been given had been left in the back since that morning, I got two halves of tomato that looked dried up and shriveled on the edges but definitely not from a recent source of h aweat, quite thin bacon just cooked enough in parts and slightly over in other parts,two whole mushrooms that tasted like they had been stood soaking in stale water for a length of time ,baked beans that may have come fresh from the tin but missed the form of heating they should have received, sausage and egg actually didn't look bad but same as everything else hadn't been heated through enough and I won't even bother to mention the so called hash browns which had gone to an hardness on the outside that I could have got if I'd reheated them a few times over.All in all not good.Dont know if I chose the wrong day to use this cafe but not a patch on how it was when I used to eat there more often whist shopping on Saturdays about 18 years ago , obviously staff will have changed since then and so has the food . Wouldn't recommend on my experience .

We decided to have a Christmas lunch at morrisons and what a fantastic meal, there was so much on the plate. Well done Morrisons

I come and have lunch here with friends on a Tuesday and Saturday were loyal customers and always enjoy the food the food is always absolutely delicious and the staff are lovely

I would just like to thank Sarah wall and Sarah Astell for their immense help last minute in sorting the food out for my wife’s 30th birthday. We all had the best time and the food was amazing! Thank you both so much!

Returned again with my workmates for a Full English Breakfast on New Yrs Eve, for what you pay in my opinion its very good value and now you have refillable coffee as well makes it even better value. Didn't have to wait long for our food and very good service will be back.

Took great-grandson out for lunch, he’s 4, I’m 74, he had a set child’s lunch, that’s a choice of sandwich + savoury snack + sweet snack, + piece of fruit, and a drink. This is a lovely, well made fresh sandwich, with plenty of other things to choose from, to make up a good quality lunch for a small child. Nice, calm atmosphere, lovely, kind and helpful staff, with a good choice of seating. Makes a great change from the usual fast food outlets that most children are taken to, gets them used to eating out in proper restaurants, without being too formal.He thoroughly enjoyed it, behaved very well, and had a nutritious, filling lunch. Nice, reasonably priced, good quality food for grown-ups too. Highly recommend.

Whilst at caravan park nearby popped in for some shopping. Used the cafe for dinner had the fish and chips and the wife had jacket potato with tuna. Quick service and good value portions were very good.

Fairly clean but not great. Expensive for what we got we went for breakfast. Service very slow but it was busy. I’d give it another go but probably avoid anything greasy. Good coffee out of a machine and to be fair a big range of food including lunch time stuff out likeSandwiches and buns. Staff friendly but not really helpful. Maybe an odd day?

Me and my workmates came here for Breakfast New Years Eve, the food and the service was very good, didn't have to wait to long for our food and drinks, even on this busy day, a good choice of food available and at a reasonable price will be back again.

Popped in for a coffee a few times. Ordered a toasted teachable as I had to take medication with food. The teachable came very quickly and was delicious. I have also had sandwiches from this cafe and a hamburger all of which were tasty and very competitively priced. The burger was huge and usually comes with chips but I didn't need any. The staff are kept very busy, the cafe's packed between noon and 2pm but they are always cheerful and helpful. The level of cleanliness was excellent when I was there despite some parents ignoring the fact their children had dropped food on the floor and the table - can't you pick it up! The staff were constantly clearing and cleaning empty tables (and the floor).

Decided to call for breakfast before I did the shopping as it seems a lot of people do. Coffee was good but won’t make the mistake of doing breakfast again. Not great quality and swimming in grease. Could only eat about half of it.

This Morrison's had a great choice of food fresh food and more, better than our local one. This close to where we were staying at the caravan club site.

Really excellent fish and chips. This is a great little restaurant, which explains why it's always busy.

The cafe is a great way to start the day before shopping. We love the food served here. My advise is to get the big breakfast rather than make your own because it's cheaper that way.

Even though this is the nearest supermarket to my house I never really shop here unless something is on offer or a good deal. Feel like the shop is scruffy and floors dirty compared to other supermarkets. However shelves are stocked well and you can ustally find what you need. Plenty of car parking space and close to centre of Staveley.

My partner and I - very, very reluctantly visit this cafe regularly as we take an elderly relative shopping and she often needs a rest and some food. We find that on nearly every visit that it is hard to find a clean table to sit at and I have to clean it with tissue to be able to use the table. You have to search through the cups to find a clean or unstained cup. The cutlery is on most occasions dirty and at times it feels like there is something like old potato on them as if the dishwasher needs to be cleaned. The food is often luke warm and I have left more meals than I have eaten. On occasions we have sent meals back. The desserts and cakes are not covered so open to germs and people touching them. The last couple of times we have visited the hot drinks machines have not been working. It is a shame this cafe lets the morrisons standards down greatly as we have used other morrisons cafes which have been clean and serve hot food. As soon as our elderly relative does not come shopping with us anymore we shall definitely not be setting foot in this cafe again.

Stopped off here after a bike ride nearby. Didn't want anything big to eat so we had the sandwiches. £2.50 for a tray of sandwiches and some crisps was not bad value. Shame some of the tables had not been cleared in the cafe. Good choice of drinks and cakes available.

I will not go back in this cafe again, poor service and dirty tables food not great. Was breakfast service and food was cold and hard

I'm sorry to say I've just eaten the worst breakfast I've ever had.....yuck!

Stopped here for breakfast while in the area. Friendly service and a very large breakfast. It was v tasty and a good start to the day.

We had fish and chips and lasagne with garlic bread both of which were very good especially when taking into consideration the price paid, however it was a job to root through the cutlery to find some that appeared clean. Come on, it isn't that hard to get food stains off knives and forks! Other than that we would reccomend this place.

Lovely beef lasagne and chips, we had this meal a few times and would highly recommend it. The meal is always piping hot.

Have been going to cafe at Morrison's for a few years very often once or twice a week. The cafe is good value and kids eat free. Bargin. Well it would be if they ever had anything on the menu. Recently this is happening every week. No pie's , no lamb shanks (for two weeks running) . Took my chances and drove to Morrison's Half Way today after again no food in stock. Guess what? No problems at all, says always had lamb in stock. Staff also very friendly. Bit further to drive but this will be my new eating spot.

Great variety of food, helpful staff, surprisingly inexpensive weekly shop. Really impressed. We will shop here again.

Good layout of the supermarket. Some staff could be a little more friendly. Toilets need to be cleaned out ever few hours, the odour is always bad, which is down to customers pissing on floors/seats, but need to be made clean nonetheless.

We find Morrison a very good shop.it as good range of items .we live in Staveley and shop most days.the bread is baked onsite so very fresh as are the cakes. You can find it off the A619 staveley too chesterfield Rd

Usually have a meal whilst shopping in the main store tables always clean friendly staff with lots of food types to choose from

Quick call recently as I needed a drink of coffee. They had no spoons to stir the coffee - yet again in a Morrisons cafe. I had to use a dessert spoon, which is totally unacceptable. Needless to say I will not be returning. Just to finish it off there was no wifi which was the other reason why I called. Goodbye Morrisons.

Great store.helpful staff. Enjoy shopping at Morrisons as easy too get around and store not too big.

I have enjoyed very good food and service at a variety of Morrison's Cafe's before now so when I wanted something for lunch and was passing through Staveley on Tuesday I decided to drop in for a jacket potato.

Nice meal as a make do! I have a good appetite & needed a bigger plate with ample portions. However as we were in the middle of a new kitchen refurb a fast local alternative had to be found. A wait of 20 minutes caused some impatience but it was a busy venue.

Staff are really friendly . Food was hot and really tasty. Descent size and prize kids meal. Lovely Chicken Tikka meal. Very tasty Steak Pie meal. Food was ready quite quickly after ordering. It was all hot and tasty. We will definitely return and order food again. Prices are really reasonable too.

Just called in Morrisons today with my friend had a gluten free cob for first time. To my surprise it was really good chose ham and cheese and was expecting it ti be dry but it wasn't. It was a reasonable price and came with free crisps. Will be having this again.
