Morrisons in Castle Point

Awful experience. Short staffed, and struggling to cope. No coffee. Sending people to self service tills but no note about not having coffee. So many people disgruntled and moaning. Food took about 40mins to come out. I had the poached egg on avacado and toast. First thing it looked not very appetising. The poached egg was hard boiled. The avacado so cold it had frozen lumps in it and as a result the toast was cold. The staff were constantly apologising and explaining about the coffee machine. As it got busier it got worst. I would of demanded my money back but felt sorry for the staff. I don't blame staff I blame management. The amount of stress this was putting on staff is not fair and not a nice working environment. We won't return obviously

Visited here for late breakfast. Hot chocolate machine apparently not been working for some time. Some items unavailable ( why? you’re based inside a supermarket.) One young man was doing a magnificent job. We saw him taking orders and payments, bringing food to tables, refilling coffee machine and various other jobs. I was seriously concerned that he might disappear up his own backside at any moment. He was dashing about like a blue a***d fly poor devil. You need more staff because he was doing the work of about three people.He needs a medal. Food was lukewarm.

Just bought two quarter pounder meals and two apple pies. Got hone to discover one lot of fries missing and no apple pies although I was charged for them!!!! After having driven over an hour to get home I wanted something quick and easy....your phone line is permanently engaged Receipt no MRWW RGRD JQGH Thanks a lot McDonalds Sylvia

Counter staff on deli one in particular Tracy really doesn’t want to be there no actually puts me off buying when I see her banging around and just plain rude asking yeah what it’s wrong Morrison’s sort out training for your staff

Omg where do i start. Went here early afternoon maybe 2 or 3. Waited 5 minutes to be served. In the end walked into kitchento see all 3 women having a gossip. I said anyonen serving. Was met with a filthy look and "yeah in a minute"! Then carried on talking. Finally sent a young lad out who was very stressed and run off his feet while they carried on chatting about eastenders. Told at till sorry no coffee as machines broke again. Ok coke then. Nope sorry no coke machine! Okay a can off the fridge. You guessed it. No cans of coke. Basically nothing even though the cafe is slap bang in the middle of a supermarket! Then cautiously ordered a jkt potato and salad. Hubby ordered a full english. I hadnt sat down and the food was on the table. Suffice to say jkt was literally cremated and STONE COLD! hubbys was also barely warm and disgusting. I ordered a refund and got it. Hubby said never again. Nothing like the one in maldon which another customer agreed with. Nice staff and food cooked fresh unlike here. This place needs fresh staff get rid of this lot. Lazy and frankly rude! The young lad was doing everything. Lots of customers were complaining and all.of us said the lad should run this cafe. If you can call it that. Im so disgusted im writing to the manager and health and safety. Disgusted doesnt cover it.

Bad attitude from the security guard telling a care worker to get to the back of the qweu like everyone else these people shop for vulnerable people shame on you Morrison

After having a poor breakfast at Hadleigh , tried a big breakfast at Canvey hoping for improvement.. It was inedible....cold, soggy, greasy and undercooked (bacon almost blue). I won't be eating in ANY Morrison's again

Knives and forks dirty cups stained staff used the same cloth to wipe seat then wipe table fire exits blocked by shopping trolleys when are in informed they turn a blind eye .shopping trolleys should never be aloud in the cafe area for safety reasons

Paid for food and drinks using the self service screen. Found a table and went to get tea/coffee and cutlery. No cups, no knives, no forks. Waited 45 minutes for food (along with a lot of other fed up customers) went and asked how much longer, to be told another 10 minutes so asked for money back..only for the food to appear. We ate it and it was fine, but we shan’t be going back. Not enough staff.

As usual this café had excellent freshly cooked food - fish and chips in our case. My mum liked the fact she could have a 'small' portion too.

Excellent choice of products in store choice of food in restaurant not very good or appetising needs better food.

Decided to go for a quick meal before taking my son to the cinema & hadn't used the cafe at Canvey before & probably won't again! Kids sandwich boxes didn't have any choice in drink or snack to go in then found that only hot meals are included in the kids eat free??? No milkshakes & lady didn't seem to know if slush was working or not as had a cup over the handle- said yes as "it's going round" but drink was super watery so obviously wasn't ready for use. Several adults meal & dessert choices unavailable even though it was only 4.45! Cutlery dirty, had to ask for serviettes, no one seemed to have a clue what was going on & meal took long time to come & we had to go and ask for our dessert. Have eaten at Little Clacton so many times & had excellent service & meals but won't be returning to the Canvey store again.

Service is slow, often run out of food choices. It is popular with shoppers but it can take a long time from ordering to eating.

Came here before doing the weekly shop & quickly wished I hadn’t......woman serving was very rude when I was ordering....kept saying hurry & wake up even though I was the only one in the queue. I had the big breakfast, was giving and charged for toast I didn’t want, well I say toast it was barely toasted, breakfast was Luke warm and way way over cooked......cappuccino also only tepid. All in all the worst £7+ I have ever spent.....supermarket okay but avoid the cafe/restaurant at all costs.....there’s 3 great cafes on Charfleets nearby that are cheaper & 100% better.

canvey store getting worse got there today at 9. 40 for breakfast waited 25 mins for staff to take order there was about 10 off us waiting only one staff to take order cook and wait when got order our one went to wrong table then brought to us to be honest was just warm will not be eaten there again then shopping there is so many empty stock with daily stuff so from now on be shopping else were

For many many years myself and hubby have shopped on a Saturday at Morrisons Canvey Island. Before shopping we have always had breakfast in the restaurant / cafe,like I say this has been for years and loved this time but just recently they have changed the menu and yes I know mix it up after time is needed and although the breakfast we both have has changed very slightly and not just by name from Little Breakfast to Small Breakfast but the beans are in a pot which means you get less and the most saddest change is the Toast it's gone from 2 slices of nice thick toast to 1 slice of fresh bread which is also smaller We are gutted and now no more Saturday morning breakfast for us This may sound a bit trivial to some but for me it was our Date day plus I am now having to cook it or have cereal instead I know quite a few who feel the same but whether they choose to still eat there is up to them but last Saturday was our last Such a shame as Jo and others who work there are amazing and going to miss them too

We were on Canvey decided to get some shopping in Morrisons Supermarket Northwick Road.

At the end of the day this is a Supermarket with just your normal Produce.

Have eaten here a few times mainly breakfast. You cannot complain about prices BUT why do they continue ti serve food on cold plates so it is only lukewarm. The service is also slow. You get your hot drink then have to get through the tills and by the time you have done that and ordered the drink is only luke warm as well. It seems everyone says this but they do not seem to listen!!

Very good selection of food in store. Very good value too. Staff are very helpful but restaurant very slow.

Having not had a breakfast here for a few months me and the wife decided to go for an early one. We arrived at 8am. Not too many people, so I ordered the big breakfast and wifey had the small one. Mine arrived with three rashers of bacon, two hash browns, one sausage, egg, beans, mushrooms and fried bread. All very scrummy. Wifey had one egg, one bacon beans, hash brown and two slices of bread, again all very yummy. Except for one problem. Every time I have ordered breakfast, it always arrives luke warm served on a cold plate. The only thing that's hot were the hash browns. Mainly because they were deep fat fried therefore hot. Don't get me wrong, the food is plentiful and well cooked. But luke warm. Come on Morrisons, read the reviews and do something about it. Every one I know, likes a hot breakfast.

I quite often have breakfast at this establishment. Myself and a friend went again this morning. This has got to be the worst visit so far. Firstly the beverage cups, although clean were heavily stained. Not nice. Then we had to wait at the till to be served. As it was 0830 it was not at all busy. And we waited and we waited......Finally an assistant came out from the kitchen and took my order. Which was a three egged mushroom omelette with cheese and two hash browns. My friend ordered the big breakfast, with tea and a coffee. The bill came to about £12 which I thought was a bit steep and I though no more of it. Until the assistant brought us our meal some 10 minutes later. On my plate was three mushroom omelettes...........Yep, three. Which bit of a three egged omelette did the assistant not understand. It was luke warm and the hash browns luke warm put onto a very cold plate. My friends breakfast was the same, luke warm. This is not the first time Morrisons serve luke warm food. I had cause to complain before. Also, why does it take so long to be served at the till. There were clearly at least four assistants in the cooking area. So again......I'm not happy

We have visited this restaurant many times. We like the vegetarian breakfast if there is an item like an egg that you don't want you can swap for another. The breakfast used to very cheap but prices have risen but it's still good value. Service can be good sometimes not so good. At peak times there can be a queues and hard to find a table. Overall good for lunches and breakfast.

I got my self serve coffee and then got to the till and ordered our food, eggs benedict and a full English only to be told there would be a 20 minute wait. I said my coffee would be cold by then which I wanted with my food. No problem said the lady at the till, leave it here and get another one when you're food comes out. Problem solved, happy dinner. I went off and did my shopping, then back into the cafe, got a fresh coffee and enjoyed a very good breakfast. We were both delighted at the quality of the food and impressed with the cleanliness.

We often go here for breakfast and are never disappointed. The staff are very friendly especially Jo, her banter is terrific, she makes us laugh every time. The only thing wrong is the drinks machines. Although we have bought it to the attention of the management it has not been rectified, the hot water is too cool. As you have to get the hot drinks before ordering your food, they are ready to drink as soon as you find a table and so are finished long before the food arrives. The restaurant is always clean even when they are busy, the staff are very efficient at cleaning the tables so there is always somewhere to sit.

Easily accessable on one level, staff accomodating when we needed help with menu, light open restaurant to the left as you walk in to morrisons, great value breakfast with toast, help yourself to tea/coffee, clean tables and plenty of highchairs, prices are very reasonable, there is often deals on.

We have stopped there for lunch a few times now and we find tge food great, good choice and tge staff were good

The lady that served us was very abrupt and the food was only just warm my friend took his meal back and the woman rudely said what's wrong with it. It was not very nice and some customer service training wouldn't go a miss

I have eaten at this restaurant many times. Highly recommend is their breakfast menu. It's a full plate of freshly cooked food of high quality. it's a fairly large restaurant and can get very busy. Ordering can get confusing at times. Some days you order your meal at the till. Other days you have to order at the front of the restaurant. Some days there is a sign that's says.........Order at till which can be missed as people are not quite sure what to do..........My only complaint would be that the food can be a bit more hotter if it was served on warm plates. The baked beans can at times be rather cool. But on the whole. It's an excellent place for breakfast.
