Moonlight Indian Restaurant in Wiltshire

We'd booked a table for a group of friends several weeks ago. On the day we got a call asking if we could move the booking back half an hour. No as some friends were travelling and we didn't want a late night. Agreed to move it back 15 minutes. When we arrived at.new time table wasn't ready. But that was soon remedied. Service was very slow as it was very busy (including takeaways.) That's why this time I've marked it as Average. But on the plus side food was excellent as always with visiting friends rely impressed

My 3 friends and I ate here on a Friday night, We received a warm welcome, but from then on everything was overly rushed. We had only just sat down before the waiters were desperate for our drinks orders, and at the end of our meal we had barely finished eating before they brought the bill (which we hadn't yet asked for!). Then they were back in a flash for payment - we hadn't even had time to look at the bill! I appreciate that they were busy and wanted the table back, but it was terrible customer service and would put me off returning to eat in. However, the food was wonderful and we all agreed on this. It was just a shame that the customer service was lacking...

If you want excellent service and excellent Indian food in a friendly busy restaurant in corsham then this is the place. Worth travelling for.

Every meal I've had there has been amazing. Never had one I diddnt like. Tandoori Crab starter is pretty special and certainly unique.

The staff are fantastic and will cater to your individual needs. The food is really a step up to a traditional Indian restaurant. We drive past our local Indians to come here by 5 or 6 miles or so. An absolute treat, the green sauce is a hidden gem, the best garlic chilli chicken I have ever had hands down, and I’ve been to Birmingham and Glasgow on the curry.

Wow! This place is amazing. The food was authentic, full of flavour, and delicious! Genuinely one of the best takeaways we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to order from here again!

The food took ages to come but they were full on a Tuesday night and when the food did come it was amazing . Lovely presentation and tasted fabulous.

Had dinner with family. Staff amazing, food not so good. Asked for non spicy paneer for Kids and it was awful. They just added sugar to it. Horrible. Kids hated it. We had a lovely Indian in Whitney Town and was so looking forward to this one, hope. Not good . sorry. Try Grukas in Whitney Town. Amazing!

Ordered a takeaway on new years and noticed when we got home an item had been missed off our order, I phoned and they delivered the item out within 5-10 minutes of me phoning, we were still eating so it delivered in perfect time. We were so impressed as it was New Year’s Eve and busy and these things happen but they went above and beyond to get our missed item to us! So thank you :) best take away in corsham!!

Excellent food. The service has always been great. Dining in is great and take away is just as good.

Everything you can want from a good curry house. All the expected favourites and a wide range of them too along with a couple of pages of chef specialties. An early evening (6pm) visit for 2 there was plenty of space and no need to book. We ordered a range of vegetarian and chicken dishes along with pilau rice, mushroom rice and plain and garlic naans. All washed down with (unfortunately as we were driving) non alcoholic beer. Really nice!

Just finished a delicious Tandoori Mixed Grill. The food arrived sizzling hot and was very well spiced. Great atmosphere for a Thursday night too, busy but not too busy.

We had the perfect dinner, very tasty food and friendly personal.

I’ve been to Gym khana, Dishoom, Indian Accent, Rasa etc etc. the Amritsari curry was by far the most phenomenal fish dish I’ve had in my entire life

Friendly staff and fast service, bland tasteless mains, lamb was like chewing leather and chicken was completely tasteless, flat drinks which were replaced when mentioned with more flat drinks. Unfortunate

Good food but OH MY the service is shocking. I have visited 5 times and never had a meal quicker than 70 minutes after ordering. I’ve just ordered a take away that I was told would be 1hr 45 then I get there (allowing 2 hours) and am told it will be at least another 20 minutes. Get your act together Moonlight! Other places are busy and able to provide a service. Don’t make promises you can’t keep. Never again. Too stressful.

Just fantastic food, great variety superb for vegetarians, and the staff are Wonderfull, we had a 6 month old baby with us and everyone was so lovely. Thank you for the Wonderfull food.

what lovely folk … they had issue with power outage and managed it very well albeit having to cancel some bookings … was waiting a while for takeaway but they couldn’t have been nicer

I cannot fault the food, it was fantastic. What I can fault is that we were pretty much ushered out of our table and the restaurant in 50 minutes after we had sat down. We booked a table for 3 at 7pm and arrived on time. After sitting down and being served our drinks and poppadoms we were asked to move tables to accommodate a large group. Unusual but not an issue. Our order was taken promptly and the food came out without issue. It was excellent. However after we finished our mains at 7.50pm they asked if we wanted to order anything else, we declined as were all full. At this point they asked if we could leave as they were very busy. We all had ordered a second drink and they were mostly almost full, yet the server asking us to leave did not seem to take kindly to us saying that we would just finish our drinks. They brought the bill along with the card machine and we all felt like they wanted us out ASAP. If there is a need for a quick turn around of tables they do need to make this known at the time of the booking or when we arrive, we may have chose another restaurant if we had known. I have never been in and out for a curry in less than an hour before. A real shame as other than this it was a really nice meal and great food. We will now try an alternative Indian next time out.

Top class food from a Indian takeaway. The meal was top quality, very good portion size. The pilau rice was the best outside a Michelin starred Restaurants. I will be using them every time in the future.

Visiting near by and visited for dinner, lovely food and friendly service, both my wife and I meals were lovely.

Superb, excellent food with great customer service. Came here last night with family and had a nice evening. Have been to this restaurant before; in the past and have also experienced a memorable evening. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated, with around 15 tables on the inside so can fit about 25 people on a busy night. Ordered a pint of kingfisher on draft which was really flavoursome a peshwari naan and lamb bhuna which has two chilly symbols, which wasn't too hot. Found the staff were helpful and had great energy. They also do takeaways both online and over the phone. Yeah really happy with this place, keep up the excellent work owners ;) 😉

Went in on the off chance at 5.30pm on my partner's birthday, we were first struck by the amazing murals and ceiling. Surprisingly we were welcomed in and sat down. The food came and was delicious Thank you for a lovely meal and fitting us in, we'll be back. Tony and Judy.

Had a great chicken dhansak with naan and rice. Popadums to start. Tasty and good portions. What's not to like.

This was our alternative choice of dining out but what a delight! The service is excellent & the food so tender & expertly spiced which becomes a delight in each mouthful! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this restaurant !

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Food was delightful. Staff were thoroughly polite and attentive without being overbearing. We left well fed and for A VERY reasonable price. Would thoroughly advise you to try this restaurant. I have been lucky enough to eat at some too restaurant around the world and this place ranks up.there with the best.

Went in this evening as a walk in, staff were very welcoming and we were seated promptly, food was amazing, the restaurant is beautiful, highly recommend.

Great food, nicely presented. Staff were lovely & attentive. Not too busy, steady stream of customers, got a bit noisey at times. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I've always largely avoided Indian food as I've never been sure what to order, tonight i thought I'd bite the bullet, onion bhaji, chicken dopiaza, pilau rice & roti bread.....WOW, the food from Moonlight was superb, a new convert, definitely be going back.

We ordered a takeaway at 6.30pm, Moonlight texted a time to pick up, 7.30pm, which seemed efficient, but when we got there, had to wait a further 40 mins. Perhaps if they can't cope with demand, they should at least be realistic regarding timings. Food was mediocre.

This restaurant was open for sit in meals also for takeaway meals. The food in my opinion was out of this world, the tastes were fantastic both starter and main. But the service was abominable they seemed to spend most of their time concentrating on the takeaway side of the business. Rather than the customers actually sat in the restaurant. Would I go again, not to sure. But would definitely have a takeaway.

Just been with friends, and I don't actually like Indian food,but my friends do, but they cooked me some food that I liked was excellent and the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend

Highly recommend this restaurant! Huge choice of Vegetarian options. Quality food at a great price and the team are lovely. Would advise booking in advance on a Fri/Sat night.

A great meal and a great atmosphere as always, I cant recommend enough, we always book when we have family to visit as they say its the best Indian food they have tasted, especially the fish curry. Also such a shame that the previous review was so awful, as I was there that evening, sat on the table next to them, and even though the customer are always right, on this occasion the customer was totally rude and out of order.

Please avoid giving this restaurant any business at all unless you want to be accused or lying, hounded off your table without finishing your meal when we wanted to order a coffee and a dessert, stood over, shouted at and finally accused of not paying when we got up to put our coats on but had already paid our bill!! This catalogue of disasters started the minute we walked through the door, I clearly had my restaurant booking confirmation on my mobile to show the staff but we had not been written in their bookings book. Instead of aplosging and saying they were sorry they had overbooked, they said there was no problem and showed us to our table. We had not been given a time slot to be out by so when their other customers turned up they tried to throw us off of the table when we were trying to have a good meal out. This was embarrassing and very upsetting to say the least and not a relaxed environment for the other customers around us either. We were appalled by their treatment of us as customers and the only saving grace was a local lad that worked there on a Saturday evening apologising profusely about the entire evening as he had seen exactly the dispicable treatment that we had to endure all evening . The restaurant didnt deserve a penny of our money but we paid and got out of the place after such a horrible evening

Five stars and yes, I'm biased because this is a real favourite of ours. The food is amazing and notably not of the kind that floats with ghee. The service is fantastic and the guys are really genuinely looking after you.

The food was absolutely gorgeous, the meat thoroughly marinated with many delicious spices and the portion sizes were huge! Staff are friendly and try their best to help you with everything you ask

Slow for collection. Food wasn't hot, bland and far too sweet for curries which would usually be medium spice. Not much meat and lots of watery sauces.

2 hrs for a delivery food was cold

Found this place on a very wet Sunday evening and what a Find it was! 4 family members and we all had a different dish. Mum and I had fish and seafood, the lads had chicken & lamb respectively. Each dish was absolutely sublime, wonderful flavours, even the dips for the pappadoms were gorgeous! We loved the unusual and very pretty decor and the staff were friendly and attentive. Altogether a truly magical experience. Thank you.

First time I’ve been to an Indian restaurant in 10 years (with the exception of Michelin starred London Indians) and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and flavoursome without being over spiced. A saag dish was a proper saag dish and the vegetable dishes were a star. Definitely recommend it to the locals, you have a gem on an Indian on your doorstep. Shame I live in north bucks !!! Enjoy .

We have used Moonlight for takeaways. Exceptional quality and efficient service. Just don't understand the poor reviews. You now order direct no longer go through Just Eat. Found the new order process highly efficient. If you had problems under old system try again.

The food was mediocre compared to other Indian restaurants we’ve had in the past . We initially went for moonlight because they had good reviews, but we were slightly disappointed with the taste. However the rice with the cumin seeds was delicious and so was the Aloo Chat!Also very disappointed with the amount of plastic Tupperwares used, they definitely need to invest in more recyclable containers.

I have to say this was one of the best Indian restaurant d I've been to the food was amazing the staff very polite and friendly.i live half an hour away but it was. Well worth the journey .

On numerous occasions, I have first hand experienced the awful service of Moonlight. They seem to be permanently late to agreed collection times. This climaxed after waiting 45 minutes after the agreed collection time on a -1°C night to be told the food hadn’t even been cooked yet, despite having ordered hours prior. Really a shame considering the decent food.

We had a delicious curry here - as usual and the service was excellent as always but even more importantly we felt safe. Tables really well spaced and separated and all the usual Covid precautions being practiced. We'll done. We wiĺl be back soon. Best curry too!! Highly recommend.

I will keep this short the food is very good of a high standard but the service is very very slow! We arrived at 7.30 and the main course didn't arrive until 9.45 by this point we had gone past the point of eating really but the food tasted nice.

Food is lovely but we waited well over an hour for three meals! We got an apology but that was it! We were only offered drinks on arrival so although we were there for over two hours we were never offered any drinks despite an empty jug on the table. We watched take away after take away come out of the kitchen but not our food! Such a shame as the waiters are very nice (although they all had masks on they were pushed down under their chins ) the restaurant is nicely decorated but you’ve got to make your customers feel cared for!

Myself and my wife booked a table on the spur of the moment. We are both lovers of indian cuisine and have tried many Indian restaurants over the year's, but Wow!! What a wonderful experience!! From the very friendly welcome when we arrived to the perfectly cooked and extremely flavoursome food that was served to us, we just could not find fault at all!! In fact you were actually made to feel like guests of theirs rather than customers, even the prices were as paletable as their food. Thank you for an amazing evening. Looking forward to going back again soon. 10/10 😁

When we moved to Corsham we thought we had stumbled upon a gem of an Indian restaurant. The lamb tikka masala was the best my partner had ever had. We had some fantastic dishes the first few times - both in the restaurant and taking away. We took my family there but we were gutted when both the service and food was poor. Thinking it was just a one-off we returned with our friends, but again we were disappointed. Tonight, we decided to get a takeaway. It was another disappointment. It was 20 minutes late, then there was a lot of confusion as to whether I had the right order and the when I got it home a few minutes later I opened the containers to find everything cold and extremely greasy. Sorry Moonlight, but it’s a case of three strikes and you’re out.

We’ve been here about 5 times now and everytime we’ve had a brilliant meal. Sometimes we’ve had to wait a bit, but that doesn’t bother us. It was worth the wait. Always a nice atmosphere.Staff are brilliant, friendly and polite. Hopefully we will be returning soon.

It took moonlight 2 hours to cook my curry, having told me half an hour on the phone. I then waited outside in the cold for 90 minutes for a mediocre curry. I could have cooked it myself at home from scratch quicker and hit a third of the price. Awful.

The food is good quality. The service i find isn't the best. Online booking first of all says half hour 40 minutes wait. I order and the time for wait then goes up an hour. I turn up for my collection to be kept waiting another half hour. I order take out because I cannot be bothered to cook and I am hungry. I would not of ordered if the wait was more than 40mins the fact it went up after purchase was not good. To be kept waiting another half hour was beyond acceptable. There has to be a level of customer satisfaction. Your food maybe good but please don't lie to get the money in. I won't be using you anytime soon if ever again. Customers need to know truthfully when they will get there food. I wasn't the only one tonight. Such a shame ........ We ordered after 7pm . The online system takes my details,a call from you to say the time would take longer would be better than standing outside for over half an hour in the rain. Not long just a minute gets a bit to much after half an hour. Yes I understand the things are different you just need to work on the service don't take so many orders. Stop using online if it's to much. Your response is a little condescending. Again such a shame I was 3 stars.

Very busy Saturday night, there was a long... wait but the young man at the desk was really helpful. Once again a delicious meal and I am glad they seem to be making a success at this troubling time.

Great service and food. Always. Even with the current climate making the demand more than usual, they seem to be handling it well under the pressure. A longer wait than usual but I never mind waiting when I know my food has just been cooked and not straight from a microwave. Thank you!!

we come to this indian often.my husband loves indian food .we sometimes go the the other restaurant that is owned by same proprietor.this one has the edge.the food I'd like to say has been consistently good.The staff are friendly and rectify any problems if any do occur.it's so well presented and th popadom chutney are good.the wine is also reasonable.

Went there for my husband's birthday. It was OK. Food nice, service was the bare minimum. Probably won't go back as there are nicer places locally.
