I've eaten in Monty's when drunk in the past, and know the service is great. The team are definitely tolerant. However, in these times I've been forced into takeaways.Takeaways always concern me as there are so many touch points where it can go wrong. We called the order in whilst having a beer on the riverside, and when we arrived as told, 35 minutes, the meal was just being bagged. The guys serving were great, and without question gave me the loads of mint sauce I love.We meal didn't real need heating by the time got home, which is a 10 minute walk, so straight in we went. My chicken bhuna was delicious and will definitely have again. The perswahi nan could have done with a but more coconut, but then I have a sweet tooth. The best but though was the onion bhaji. I look forward to my next order.

What Da Pho

18/07/2020: A Phoreal visit is essential when visiting Kingston! Perfect central location. There’s a decent amount of choice on the menu. My sister and I went for the grilled chicken with rice. It was delicious with fresh and great quality ingredients. It’s a big portion - they really don’t scrimp on the meat, very filling. The guys working there are friendly and service is quick. It’s £6 for grilled chicken and £7.50 with spring rolls added - they even gave me free spring rolls with the second portion. Reasonable for the size and quality. This seems to be authentic Vietnamese food and I can’t recommend enough!

Giggling Squid Kingston

16/05/2020: We have never been to this restaurant in person but have had two meals via Deliveroo since lockdown. A friend we recently met said she has been here many times and loves the food so we thought we would give it a try.Last week, we ordered chicken wings, prawn pad thai, duck curry and bok choy/tender stem brocolli. The chicken wings were the only thing that was disappointing as they were not crispy and didn’t have much taste. The veg was a small portion but tasty. The prawn pad thai and duck curry were very good. This weekend we ordered the crispy squid (yum!), papaya salad (delicious and spicy), tamarind duck (very nice), morning glory (great) and the pork curry with roti (tasty). There was enough to feed two people for two meals if you are not a big eater so we had the leftovers for lunch the next day.I am so happy they are open during the lock down. The food is not as cheap as a Chinese takeaway, for example, but the quality for the most part, is worth the price!
