Monsoon Indian Cuisine in Eastleigh

My last review in March 2021 still stands… we thought we’d try again because it is so local but have just wasted £27. The only good things about this is the easy online ordering! Still using cheap ingredients. The mango chutney and mint sauce was like water. This just mainly onion in the salad. My Korma was pale and totally tasteless. Meat tough and chewy in the Madras. The pilau rice was bright, bright yellow and just tasted of turmeric. The Naan was dry and thin. We will fall for this trap again, they obviously are not ever going to be as good as they used to be.

Just a really average curry. Nothing wrong with it, just not brilliant. Loads of chicken in the curry, but the rice was a bit wet and sauces were a bit oily for our taste.

Ordered a take away because a friend recommended it but that was the biggest mistake. I had the chicken korma to share with my friend and when we opened it there was only what I could describe as tasteless dishwater in there. It's as if they had forgotten how to cook. I can safely say that that was the worst curry I have ever had and the first and last time I would be visiting monsoon. I wanted to return the curry but my friend felt embarrassed and didn't want to make a fuss so we just put it in the bin. On the plus side, the rice and poppadoms were were nice enough. Not sure of this was a one off but unfortunately I won't be finding out. Disappointed doesn't even come close I'm afraid

Great food, piping hot and on time, everything you could want

JustEat predicted a 45-60 minute delivery time, so we ordered with this in mind. When the order was accepted, the restaurant pushed this back to 120 minutes. This wasn’t acceptable (is it for anyone?) so we decided to phone them to ask to collect the order instead. This experience was enough to put me off ordering a delivery from here for a while, as this is not the first time this has happened.

Lovely meal. Would recommend as hot and delicious. Early on delivery which was great.

Food was lovely but service was horrendous! We had 2 young children with us and both of them had their iPads whiles waiting for food to come to our table the man servicing us told both of our kids to put their iPads away or he would not give them their food he was very rude.

Takeaway The food from here has been great so far. non of this dry meat busy you get elsewhere. Service has been alright too which contradicts the recent negatives comments on here. Tried the Chicken Dansak, Tikka masala & Garlic chilli chicken. Ordered a couple of times and will definitely be ordering from here again. Had problems with the amount of time it took for our first delivery to arrive however when ordering via third party (Deliveroo) i've noticed this can happen during peak times. Only down side is there is no delivery tracking available. However, since then the deliveries have been spot on and friendly. Would recommend.

The best Indian takeaway around here. We have been very happy and content with our food that arrives. Very tasty and never disappoints. Highly recommend

Phoned up to ask what time the food was going to be here and the bloke tutted and said it's only 3 minutes late and it will be with me soon! Fair enough I was only asking lol, don't need the attitude? And the food wasn't great to be fair! Il use West end tandoori in future!

The mushroom rice was missing so had to cook some rice when we got home.

I ordered my food at 5.40 and it was delivered at 7.25. 25min after it left the shop.

Delivered piping hot and on time. Very tasty

Physically assaulted by rude staff had to call 999. The staff were extremely aggressive and never felt so scared before. Please do not ever go here

Food was hot and arrived on time but missing items unfortunately. Just eat advised to call restaurant but too late as they were closed. Poppadoms missing. Lamb tough. Chicken dhansak good. Rice good.

They charged 199 i hope they how to or read staying the country like UK. The fact the card being declined, we pay thats why you don't starve to death and please upgrade the technology you don't even have printed bills and yiu are talking about card being not accepted first have a card.

Have been ordering from this restaurant for over 10 years but last 2 deliveries have beeb dreadful with either burnt or like rubber nan bread and samosas and onion barji's and this time it was dreadful again and food was barely warm. Thought last time was isolated and gave today's order benefit to improve but really disappointed and half of the meal now in the bin.

Restaurant order given 2 hrs 20 minutes before delivery time requested and still 30 minutes late. Unfortunately although the food is excellent they always seem to deliver late. If they cannot deliver on time then refuse the order. Prices have risen over the last few months and now they charge delivery if an order is less than £30. However, even though I am paying £1.50 delivery fee they are still late. This needs addressing. Secondly, having placed a 'note' on the order not to drive into our driveway this was ignored and the delivery drive drove onto the driveway. we have restriced access and other vehicles that can cause a restrictions so this request was made to protect the other vehicles and the delivery driver, but as stated this was ignored, what a waste of time allowing customers to leave a 'Note'.

After waiting for almost an hour over the confirmed time to pick up our food without any apology or explanation as to why and the restaurant was empty, the food we eventually got was the worst curry I have ever eaten. It was soo bland and tasteless that I can only guess they have used the cheapest ingredients they could find. No herbs and no flavour, I can only compare it to baby food but that would be a compliment. We ended up throwing it away as we couldn’t bring ourselves to force it down. Please take my advice and avoid if you want a curry that actually tastes of something relevant to the category of food your buying.

The most disgusting curry I have ever eaten in my life. My husband and I ordered a prawn korma and a king prawn tikka masala and it was SO bland, I couldn’t even eat it as it didn’t even taste like curry. So disappointing after looking forward to a curry for dinner and thought we would try somewhere new but we will not be going back!

Tasty but arrived luke warm as late. Also ordered a vindaloo but it was actually no spicier than a korma. Disappointed. Won't order from here again.

Food arrived 45 minutes late asked for a discount due to missing original delivery time and then 2nd delayed delivery time and restaurant denied this and gave no compensation for our delivery and customer service.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had, we ordered at around 18:49 and fully expected the food to arrive at the notified time of between 19:49-20:00 but to our surprise was delivered no more than 20 minutes after we ordered! The food was also piping hot and flavourful, will definitely be ordering with them again and I strongly recommend you do the same!

The chicken was cooked right, no flavour in any of the meals. Really disappointing.

The delivery estimate time was nearly 2 hours from when the order was taken which is really late but then the delivery actually was delivered 30 mins more later. Also food was not piping hot so won’t be using this take away again. Not worth the wait

Arrived 45 minutes late but only following me calling to ask about our order after 1 hour 40 minutes, so it could have been even later. The restaurant was also not apologetic about the delay at all.

The food was incredible and will be using the restaurant again, however this was the second time they have been 40+ minutes late. This time was extremely frustrating as we had family over who had to leave by a certain time to catch a ferry home. Thankfully they just about had time to eat before leaving. Next time I will definitely be collecting rather than having it delivered

We ordered online just before 8pm, was told 8:35 for collection, then at the end we were told 8:55pm. Went to collect and waited nearly an hour! Seriously not impressed

ordered via the app on their website - when i arrived they hadn't started cooking it. As the manager had forgotten to check the app! I waited for them to cook the food and what i got given was really very poor. Balti was tasteless and the chicken was really dry/ overcooked.

Really great food. Wasn't expecting it to be so quick and the delivery actually turned up at my house before I did, but that was my issue and I should have made clear in the comments that I wouldn't be at home until a certain time. Couldn't fault the food or the service. Everything was superb.

Very late despite giving them a time of delivery. Very late despite them acknowledging time of delivery was ten mins later. Very late despite them saying food was en route. Had to call to chase. Got through to what sounded like a pub with various people laughing and coughing the background. No apology, no offer for resolution. They then said they’d held the food as we request no delivery before the original time. That’s why we requested that original time?!?! Food was warm, one dish was very salty, no mango chutney despite ordering it. Not satisfied and won’t order again. Would never recommend.

If you're in for the evening and would like a great takeaway, you can't go wrong with one. Their food is really good, and they deliver right to your door. I don't know much about Indian food, but they even took the time to help me decide. It was great, and not a disappointment. We decided on a house speciality, that was a pleasure. We would surely try this one again. This is highly recommended!!

We ordered for the first time as we are staying at a B&B and food was fantastic.

Best Indian I've had, not one complaint. Bhaji was exceptional, mixed grill scrumpy and chicken vindi spiced perfectly (for myself, hot) keema rice and naan were spot on. First time I've ever had a food delivery and every item has been 10/10.

How disappointing after many years of using Monsoon as a restaurant and a takeaway, tonight’s meal, placed via just eat, due to pandemic rules, was diabolical! Firstly, the naan wasn’t in the bag( refunded by just eat) They are obviously using the cheapest ingredients available....

Awful please do not order from here always late food was awful and when phoned only got attitude so do not bother save your money and get food from a place that behaves and knows how to treat their customers and provide food you can actually enjoy eating

So first the good. The food was flavourful well balanced and spice level was right for the dishes ordered. These tend to be my main considerations when reviewing a takeaway. Unfortunatley the estimated delivery time (presented after paying) was over an hour - a little long but willing to wait. Then delayed by another 20 mins. Turned up 10 mins later still. Over an hour and a half from order to deliver. Not good well maybe the food will make up for it. Unfortunatley the food was cold and the meat dry. I'm guessing it spent a long time sitting somwhere before delivery a shame as the place is so close.

18:40 i placed my order. It's now 20:42

We ordered at 5.30 and it arrived at 8.30pm. Phoned the restaurant and they hadn’t started cooking it - ok that sometimes happens, the food was nice but a bit cold by the time it finally arrived. Would use again but might not use Just Eat - the app said it was out for delivery but it wasn’t.

We placed our order at 7pm and the estimated delivery time was 8.10pm but food only arrived just before 9pm. We only live about 3 minutes drive from Monsoon! Despite this, the food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely order from them again, but maybe collect ourselves next time.

Pre ordered to avoid long waiting time yet when finally delivered, food was an hour late, chased it up and was told an extra 15 minutes which turned into 25 minutes. Food was cold, and extremely greasy. I requested a refund as I had to wait so long for cold food but was refused. Will not order from here again.

On the website the reason why we ordered was because it said 45mins to 60mins. I ordered 7:15 and it arrived at 9:09. Really misleading

Chicken Tikka Masala was generic sauce which was way too sweet Plain naan was too sweet too Samosa was tasty but was 99% potato filling Onion bhaji as tasty but very dry

Have ordered from Monsoon many times now and the food is delicious and piping hot every time! I have tried lots of curry houses and this one is definitely the best! Highly recommend!

Curries were not as described or as expected considering I eat Indian a lot Dansak should be full of lentils and a thick sauce. It was runny and tasted like a standard curry. The balti was totally different to the one ordered the week before.

Ordered for 7pm. Told later 7.30pm. Arrived 8pm

Order marked as delivered. 20.30 Should have been delivered at 18.55. food not been delivered. Monsoon not answering the phone . What do i do ? Order from someone else ?

Absolutely lovely food once again. Thank you very very much to all at the restaurant for making a fat man very happy. Happy new year to all the staff. (The delivery was late but I was expecting that being New Year’s Eve, always on time every other time I’ve ordered)
