Excellent atmosphere, helpful friendly service, wonderful tasty food with good size portions. Have not visited for over a year, but will now return more frequently as this restaurant has managed to retain its high standards for over 40 years! 👍👏

Sobre todo buena comida, pero decepcionado por el plato principal de pollo tikka muy pequeño, que era mucho más de lo que cabría esperar como un entrante modesto. Bhajis excelente como siempre, pero solo relación calidad-precio media.

Always excellent service and staff and food

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Got a call within minutes of ordering online to say they could fulfil at an earlier time. Food was hot on collection and tasted very good. Will be using again.

Passing through Botley we took the recommendation of our hotelier to try the Purbani. What an eatery! It is comfortable and intimate, with a great choice of old favourites and some less we known dishes. Beautiful naan bread, hot food and great service. I had the jhal ghost, a very punchy curry if you like it that way and I did. All highly recommended. Thank you.

I've used Purbani for 35 YRS and now live in another country,but when I visit home I always make sure I visit Purbani ,top quality food and service , Muhammad & Imran and the team running a great place,without doubt the best Indian/Bangladesh style food in Hampshire if not the country ,somewhere I always enjoy to taste the delights 🙏🏽

I never leave reviews but had to for this place..: Genuinely the best curry around, I’m really fussy and so ask for no chicken in my curry just sauce and I ask for my tikka to be hotter and it wins every time never ever had a bad curry in the 2 years we have been going. We drive 15 mins each way for a takeaway most weekends. The garlic chilli chicken is also bloody amazing, always tastes so fresh. It never has that horrible oil layer over the top and isn’t a thin watery curry. I can’t rate it enough.

Three of us dined here and the service was outstanding. The food was piping hot, as were the plates, and freshly cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and the staff were very polite and professional. Thank you all for a super evening! Sally Ann.

Emran y sus fabulosos chefs hicieron una velada especial aún mejor con un excelente y sabroso curry y acompañamientos. Nada era demasiado para ellos. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Hicieron un buffet para 72 y cada plato era tan bueno como el anterior.

What a curry my wife and I had in here a few months back. We got a lovely seat by the window and the food and drinks were delicious. I couldn’t fault the staff either. All very attentive and polite. Botley is lucky with all the good places to eat or drink and this is one of them for anyone that loves curry. Never had a takeaway from here yet. Will be getting one soon.

Esta fue nuestra primera visita a Purbani y nos quedamos muy impresionados con la elección y la calidad de nuestra comida. El uso de varias especias y frutas utilizadas en los currys y salsas creó un sabor encantador, el personal era muy atento y los precios eran muy razonables. La única desventaja fue mi incapacidad para persuadir al dueño de abrir una sucursal más cerca de donde vivimos en Derbyshire. ¡Solo significa que tendremos que seguir buscando razones para visitar la zona!

Vine aquí con algunos amigos / colegas para una comida. He estado antes un par de veces. Sí, es un poco apretado, pero teníamos una mesa para ocho y estaba bien. La comida me pareció muy buena; poppadums con salsas, pollo tikka entrante, karhai murug para principal y sí tienen postres así que helado de fresa que es genial ya que algunos restaurantes indios ya no ofrecen postres. También tuve un buen Merlot y te dan un Baileys gratis al final, además de toallas calientes y chocs que es un buen toque. Cenaron un miércoles por la noche y ocupado, pero no empacado. Servicio rápido y solo £ 35 la cabeza en promedio, así que un buen precio. Sin duda volvería ya que es uno de mis favoritos en la zona.

Excellent food served by friendly staff in spotlessly clean and tidy environment

Thank you to all the amazing staff at the Pubani Restaurant in Botley. We collected a take away from there at the weekend. The food was to its usual excellent standard and most enjoyable. A definite very high recommendation to give it a try. You won't be disappointed and we will be back again soon.

We purchased a takeaway yesterday and although we've been to this Indian restaurant for numerous years, it's always been cooked to the highest of standards and as usual, last night's was superb . When I arrived, it took less than 5 mins to collect and leave. You just can't beat this restaurant for food and service

Imran and his team went above and beyond to cater for 29 of us! The service was of high quality and the food was delicious. Every dish came out freshly made and piping hot! Each table had its own bill to take care of which made for easier payment (nothing worse than trying to work out who had what from one large bill!) Would highly recommend Purbani - Botley for a wonderful night out with delicious food. Thank you once again for a great evening, we will all be back soon!

Ordering this curry was like signing up for a thrilling adventure – except the only thrill was the suspense of whether any flavor would actually make an appearance. If disappointment had a flavor profile, this curry would be its poster child. But fear not, it might just be the perfect choice if you're aiming for a blandness cleanse or practicing your poker face – it's a masterclass in keeping a straight face while your taste buds shrug in confusion. I shall stick to Kutis.

If I could put no stars I would. I can only describe their food as SLOP. The smell the taste put me off straight away. My partner who was extremely hungry endured hers. Good God you complain as I was set upon by at least 6 members of staff, I felt very threatened and outnumbered. The people of Botley deserves better than this.

Absolutely faultless garlic chilli lamb and chicken tikka masslaa! Delicious garlic naan. I'll give 5 stars as the food was absolutely delightful and faultless! Was a bit confused when I got home and checked the receipt to see that I had been billed for a service charge for takeaway? I am hoping it was a one-off mistake. Next time, I will be slightly more vigilant. **** My absolute apologies. My partner read "service charge" and saw the number above, which was 6, and assumed that's what we had been charged. In fact, we had not. Apologies again. Fantastic food and can't recommend enough!

We've eaten at Purbani for 23 years now and every meal has been delicious. The staff are great, and always friendly and welcoming. We can't rate the restaurant highly enough.

Quite possibly the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had! Dry mixed grill, madras was tasteless more like a korma and very little lamb and the Naan was dry and cold. Won’t be ordering again.

We had a takeaway from here for the first time, lovely food and was a big order, they got everything correct, which on a big order can be unusual. Would be five stars for food, but unfortunately the duck tikka was a bit tuff

The restaurant is located in a convenient location. Free parking nearby and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good. Some more authentic background music would have been nice. The food was ok overall, though I felt it was slightly on the bland side. The garlic grilled prawn was very sweet for us. But unclear whether it’s coz we had children with us they adjusted it. Drinks: I was hoping for a lassi but only soft drinks and some juice available. The naan bread was a bit undercooked. Gooey inside. Veg curry was good. Service was on the strange side. We had a waiter at first who was very grumpy and insisted we order things in order (drinks then food then dessert) when we asked if we could order drinks and food together (as our children were hungry). Appeared very inflexible and a bit rude to be honest. Felt like we had to accommodate his needs. We got another waiter later on and he was much more amicable and flexible which made up for it a bit. Maybe more training is needed for the staff. As we left a nice older gentleman greeted us and that was nice.

Exceptional service, you’re made to feel welcome and the food is of the highest standard. You are met at the door by a friendly face and the aroma of so many wonderful spices. This is truly a worthwhile experience that will leave you coming back for more.

Very disappointed for a first visit My food was tasteless and watery The chicken was dry The attitude of the waiter was poor, no apology and no attempt to put the matter right except to say he would speak to the chef and took the remaining half of my food He came back and presented the bill with a 6 quid reduction, no apology, he couldn’t be bothered to communicate and I won’t be bothering to return

Been before and loved everything , tonight a total disappointment. Started on a high with prawn starter but went rapidly downhill , poppadoms did not taste fresh , onion salad soft and not pleasant , Chicken Bhuna bland -at least half of meal not eaten due to how it lacked and we were only comped the Bhuna - not an experience we would repeat . Also the hoover coming out at table next to us whilst we were eating was random to say the least. To clarify as per restaurants response 1. We had not booked - much the same as our last visit so review written as a like for like experience. 2. Agreement on refund is not an affirmation that ‘happy’ 3. For transparency another dish was offered , however as we were told we could only have the table for an hour and were 10 minutes over this we declined. 4. Eating 75% / if you looked at both the serving bowl and plate then may I suggest an optician , we also left at least half of the pathia as for only one person to be eating on a meal out for two isnt our normal way to have dinner 5. The waiter that we spoke with about the Bhuna was the only one that tried to assist , when raised about the chutney and salad all we got was Oh ! 6. The hoover - great to see you clean , weirdly I hadnt noted the other diners or ages Hopefully that gives you the fuller review that you wanted.

Best Indian in the Hedge End and Botley area hands down.

Our first time getting a takeaway here as knew to area. We are quite particular about what we like and we found Purbani was excellent. When we collected the good came as soon as I arrived, food was hot and delicious. Will definitely be back again and recommend.

Very nice and tasty food. Very disappointed though to spend £50 and not get at least a few free Poppadoms for an hours wait for delivery. I understand it’s hard times for businesses, but if you want to be that little bit extra than the rest, then it would have been appreciated for the amount we spent.

Excellent food! Delivery is always within the window provided. They can get very busy at the weekend so get your order in early, however they are very much worth the wait. I'm a loyal customer now as their food has been consistently perfect for over a year now.

Had our first takeaway meal this evening, have to say we were left very disappointed by the food. We had 3 different curry dishes and all were lacking in flavour and portion size. The lamb was very succulent and well cooked, but didn't make up for the lack in flavour. Our onion bhaji were also overcooked and very small and we recieved no onions or yoghurt sauce for our poppadoms. Considering the higher prices compared to other local Indian cuisine this justnleft us more disappointed.

Good food good service fast and reasonably priced
