If I could give it six, I would. Superb food; I had chicken tikka biryani and it was a delight. Full of flavour and the rice was perfectly cooked. My wife had king prawn korma and loved it. We shared sag aloo and loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a delightful experience.

Eat here for my sons 16th birthday, we eat a lot of Indian food and this got to be one of the worse. The kids korma was a tin of coconut milk with chicken in the tarka Dall had burnt slivers of garlic on top in a pool of gee, the nan bread wasn't cooked still doey. Every was done for a short cut, the server almost fed us our meal to get us out of there (we were 3 of 5 people in there) not good really disappointed.

We just had the most fantastic takeaway from Monsoon. As ever the order was processed quickly and the food ready in less than half an hour. The set up for payment and then handing over the food is totally compliant with current guidelines. Food was well prepared, flavoursome and totally delicious. It’s obviously important to support local business at the moment. And Monsoons food really is fantastic. I can’t wait until we can go there again for proper restaurant meal. Thank you

Visited this restaurant for the first time before going to the Clevedon Curzon CInema next door. Ideal spot for a romantic dinner before watching a film. The staff were absolutely brilliant, couldn’t do enough for us, the house white wine was excellent & kingfisher beer was on tap! Now the food..... this has to be the very best Indian food I have had in North Somerset & we have tried all of them. The freshly prepared meals were exquisite & the freshly prepared spices in their dishes were divine. The restaurant itself wasn’t dark but of a bright modern feel. We had excellent waiter service, very friendly staff & the Manager came over to check everything was to our liking. Thank you for making our evening so special. We will definitely return again & make this our regular ‘date night’ out.

We've ordered a couple meals in the last week for collection, taking advantage of the 20% off offer and both times (including new years eve) the food was ready as advised in 20 mins and was very tasty. We had a main, rice, side veg and bread for just over £12, which easily served both of us and home cooked just never the same. Recommended.

Some friends and I went to Monsoon for Thursday's banquet night. You each get a starter, a main meal each, a side to share, a rice to share and a naan to share, and it's plenty of food to enjoy for £11.95, which also includes a glass of house red or white wine. We couldn't fault anything! The service was great, and the food was delicious! Looking forward to going back already.

We booked a table for 8 people. Our close family. As we were celebrating my son's 40th birthday, we'd specifically requested a large table at the back so that we could all sit together at the rear of the restaurant. We turned up on time to be told we'd have to split into 2 groups of 4 and sit in the cubicles at the front. The guy eventually admitted that he'd later taken a booking for a larger group and given them priority over us. We were so disappointed. Finally we gave up and got much better service - plus a welcome - at another restaurant. A very poor show Monsoon.

For my husbands 40th birthday he wanted to celebrate at Monsoon as we'd always ordered a take away for about 8 years and been happy! We'd never sat in the restaurant and eaten there before so as a treat we booked a table for 8 (family came all the way from Coventry) but when we arrived to decorate the table they'd given it away to a bigger party!! I don't know what I was more angry about, the fact the manager had tried to call me the day before TO CANCEL my booking, (as if that was an answer) or the fact he was rude to me & the party for being disappointed we were stuck with no where to go by trying to justify his intentions!!! He just didn't want our business, simple as that. He sheepishly offered us two tiny tables of 4 in seperate booths which wasn't an option as we'd not seen some members of the family for months and it's impossible to talk whilst sat crammed into these small booths with half the party in a different area of the restaurant. It Annoyed me even more that in my booking request I SPECIFICALLY asked for the (only) large table at the back of the restaurant to which they said 'no problem'! Else we'd never of booked this restaurant.Basically money talks for this establishment, & they don't care about customer happiness. After wondering around Clevedon with elderly parents and a very tired and grumpy 4 years old we were finally told we could eat at the RedRose curry house where they gladly shuffled tables around to accommodate us an hour later. They even offered my husband and his brothers complimentary sambucas as a birthday treat!! We were treated so unfairly at Monsoon, I hope by reading this they will start putting customers first instead of Thier pockets and maybe they'll receive better trip advisor comments- like at the Red rose!! Will never order a take away or book a table again with this place, absolute shameful service.I'm just glad my husbands birthday meal wasn't completely ruined ,all thanks to the Red Rose.

We came in here after watching a film at the Curzon - the place was empty so we thought it was closed, but the staff beckoned us in to sit down. No sooner had we sat down but they were trying to get us through and back out of the door! When we tried to strike up conversation with one of the staff, we were told that Clevedon is an "old person's town" and "nobody comes out in the evening for food". It's absolutely not an old person's town, and the other Indian restaurants are full, so I'm not sure how this person thinks that!!! Have avoided since.

Four of us took advantage of the £11:95 Thursday night banquet, which consisted of a set mixed plate of starters (bhaji, pakora and samosa), followed by choice of mains. Accompanying side dish, choice of naan and rice completed the feast, along with a small glass of wine. Everyone was happy with their choices, the chicken shashlik generous and not too spicy, the paneer chicken masala mild, but tasty. Naans were a bit greasy, rice a bit dry, but the side dish of aloo gobi was great.

I regularly visit Monsoon with both family and friends. All consider it to be the best Indian restaurant in Clevedon. The Restaurant is well appointed and comfortable. The menu is very varied with a wide range of traditional dishes and specials with distinct tastes available. It's the consistently high standard of food that stands out, as I find other Indian restaurants in Clevedon are hit and miss on this aspect. Service is good and prices very reasonable for the quality of food. My only small criticism is that I find the 'heat' levels a little low for my liking, but this is a personal thing. Would recommend.

We staggered down in the snow last weekend, and came across this lovely restaurant. There is a larger Indian a few doors along but this more intimate setting and the menu appealed more and we appreciated the quieter seating. We both ordered unusual dishes from a special section of the main menu, my father had a delicious honey chicken dish with a beautiful rich and creamy sauce with very generous amounts of meat. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the butter chilli vegetables main, which had a lovely depth of flavour. The tarka dall was lovely and thick and full of flavour, which applied to all the dishes we tried. The Kingfisher topped it off nicely. A great find.

Decided to give this restaurant another go as we hadn't been there for ages. They have a good selection of prawn dishes and don't overcook the prawns (which is often the case with Indian restaurants.) I had the prawn patia which was delicious. My husband had lamb vindaloo which was also good. Neither were what we would consider particularly hot though....they definitely cater for the British palate! What has put me off going back though is the fact that we paid the bill in cash and the waiter never returned with the change! Very rude I think! We would have left a tip anyway but it's not for the waiter to make that assumption, however we felt awkward asking for it so just left.

Papadums were beautifully light and crispy, with an excellent lime pickle, which is essential! All three of us inadvertently ordered lamb dishes from the house specialities. So much meat! Had a takeaway with my husband and mother in law about a week ago and it was awful. We each ordered starter, main courses, rice and naan bread. One main course, one rice and one starter was incorrect. The lamb in two of the main courses was really tough, there was very little meat and loads of sauce. One of the main courses was nice if it were a stew but made a pretty disappointing accompaniement to naan and rice even though it was described as 'hot' in relation to its level of spice. We regularly have takeaways from Monsoon and mostly they are ok but on this occasion it was really bad. On the whole I think the trend for takeaways is a downward spiral for this establishment.Much nicer if you eat in.

Myself and partner eat here usually once a week, we always collect and the quality is how an Indian should be! Tasty, good flavours and reasonable price. The only reason they don't get the 5th star is because recently the chicken quality doesn't seem as good as what it used to me. Sometimes tastes chewy / water injected. We ate here early on a Friday evening in November. It was quiet when we arrived - there was one customer waiting for a takeaway and one other couple sat down just after us. We were quickly given the menus and our drinks order was taken. Having decided what we wanted to eat it was a good five minutes before the waiter took our food order - given that they weren't serving anyone else at all during that time I felt this was poor. Both members of staff at front of house spent the intervening five minutes chatting to the man waiting for the take away and both avoided making eye contact with us. Once our order was taken everything else (including service) was fine. The food was good quality (although could have been more highly spiced) and the portion size generous. The bill for two main courses, two sides, rice, naan, popadoms and a few beers was £35 so I felt this was good value. Won't be rushing back as there are other Indian restaurants in Clevedon but it was a decent meal.

Not my first time to this restaurant but it will be my last! The food is nice, although not the best Indian food in Clevedon, but the service on monday evening was poor considering the restaurant wasn't busy and we waited well over half an hour before our food arrived. However, when we paid our bill...£70 cash for a £62 bill, the waiter never returned with our change!! We had just been discussing whether to leave the customary 10% tip or leave the change from the £70 but the point is, this should be up to the discretion of the customer! Had I not had company then I would have asked for my change (and then left whatever tip I decided on) but our evening would have been spoiled if I had made a fuss. I felt totally ripped off and I will never go back.

The first thing you appreciate on entering the restaurant is the lovely greeting you get from the manager. The lighting and decor is not typical of other Indian restaurants. It is predominately blue and the seating is in cubicles as opposed to open tables. It is a bit like a railway carriage but does not take the charm away. If anything it gives you the sense of privacy. The music may not be to everybodys taste and at times could be said to be strident. It is not intrusive but would be better if it was a bit softer. And now we get to the important bit , which is the food. The menu is extensive and one is spoilt for choice. Unusually there are a lot of sweet and sour options which are delicious. The staff are attentive and very good at giving advice.Tables are covered in crisp white tablecloths and everything about the place exudes cleanliness. The toilets are light , airy and very clean.Great place for a curry.Almost dead opposite the Curzon cinema and would recommend it for a pre film meal.Change the music and would give it 5 stars.

They were extremely well prepared and spot on with the level of heat. Too bad we live in the USA. Ernie

Always tasty food we usually use the take away facility, but occasionally eat in.We had a meal on a Saturday night the food was excellent but the waiter was very curt bordering on rude.

This is the only place we go to for our curry. Never disappointed - always a really good meal and plenty of it. We use the take-away service, the food is always ready to pick up at the time requested and the staff are very efficient and above all the curry is delicious.

Freshly made hot buttery naan breads, good curries, sometimes a little salty but on the whole a clean reliable consistent takeaway. I wouldn't want to eat in the restaurant as the bright blue lighting makes your eyes hurt.

I can't fault it. The food is great! Good service. It's not cheap food but its worth it for a nice meal out.

My girlfriend and I have eaten here on many occasions and really like it. Having tried the others in town this is definitely our preferred one. The owner is very polite and attentive and the food, as well as being prepared using good fresh ingredients is nicely presented. The staff are always polite too. Lots of comments on the lighting, but I like it, along with the less traditional music. We'll be back.

The worst curry evening we have ever experienced. The waiter and even manager was very rude. The food was just over cooked dry chicken with flavoured sauce over it,there are other local Indian restaurants that are far better, avoid this one at all costs!!!!

Food is good with a decent selection of dishes rather than the same old stuff. Don't worry the old favourites are here as well. The main contact who I think might be the owner is very helpful and friendly.

Hubby and I go at least a couple of times a month, either a takeaway or sit down.the staff know us nkw and have a chat or a laugh.we go back for the food, its really good and natural,I mean not vivid synthetic colours.the food quality is consistantly good.we have never had a bad meal.prices are reasonable.it usually works out at fifteen pounds a head with a drink.takeaway for two, eighteen pounds.the lighting is my only gripe .I think the lighting should be warmer.but a good place to have curry

We have been to Monsoon several times after moving to Clevedon 3 years ago. In our opinion it is the best indian restaurant in the town, with consistently good food and helpful friendly service every time we visit. The food is also good quality and generous portions if you order it to take away which is something which we have found to be a bit of a let down at other restaurants we have tried. We have tried loads of dishes and cannot fault any of them, I particularly recommend trying the tandorri chicken tikka which is lovely!I agree with others who have mentioned the lighting, it is a bit strange to see in a restaurant but it is okay and should not put you off going. The booths are also a bit of a tight squeeze if there are 4 normal sized adults, but the staff are always helpful and will seat you elsewhere if possible. We have taken lots of family and friends here when they come to visit, and all have said how nice the food is, I would definitely recommend trying Monsoon.

Had a super meal here on Wednesday, ate too much! Food was lovely and staff very attentive. Only minus? Seating a little bit 'tight', sat in booth type seating and I found it hard to get in and out, I'm not large, and would worry that a 'larger' person might stuggle! Apart from that, well worth a visit and good value for money.

I have been going here for years and it is still the best. It is a bit more expensive than the others but you get what you pay for. Good authentic food here with identifiabke fresh ingredients compared to 'mush' in the others! Also very very friendly and welcoming.

We had a ladies night party at Moonson and it was really a fantastic night. We had a tour in Clevedon with friends. I am certainly going back there again as the service was very high standard and the food one of the tastiest food I have ever had in any Indian cuisine and definitely value for money. The restaurant's atmosphere, layout and lighting was really good.

Eaten here a few times now plus a couple of take aways and we have never had a poor dish. One veggie, one (very fussy) meat eater and so lots of different dishes eaten and nothing wrong with any of them. We took some of our in-laws, one of whom is gluten free, and both eat in Indian restaurants all the time and they were both really impressed. They live in Clevedon (we don't) and had never eaten there before but have been back since. We also had a four year old with us and the staff could not have been more helpful in helping him to choose something that was suitable. Where we live there are no decent Indian places to eat so a bit jealous of this place to be honest.

The food is tasty, and the menu varied. The lighting however is out of an 80's disco - pastel colours flare on and off, which although initially looking pretty soon becomes annoying. Can be a bit pricey, espcially the drinks.

We have now visited Monsoon three times. As well as the standard fayre e.g. bhuna, rogon josh etc, they have a good selection of chef's specials and signature dishes which provide a varied and welcome change from the bog standard stuff. As a vegetarian, I was pleased not only y the good selection of specifically vegetarian dishes but also by the quality. Too often, you get the impression that veggie dishes are basically left over potatoes, peas and carrots in whatever sauce is applicable. But the vegetarian options here are packed with a good selection of nicely cooked vegetables and actually seem like they have been made specifically rather than as an after-thought. Service is good and friendly, increasingly so every time we have visited and the price is about average - £35 or so for two courses each and two rounds of drinks plus a side dish. As other contributors have noted, the coloured lighting is quirky and unusual (sometimes it feels like eating a curry in a disco!) but it's not too bright or distracting. Highly recommended for a good quality, good value curry.

I've been a few times with local friends who love this place. I've been spoilt by The Curry Garden in Weston but this place is more local and is very nice. The food is good, well priced and the staff are very attentive but the blue neon style lighting is awful and gives the place a terrible atmosphere, I prefer a traditional environment. Also, the curry's are not spicy enough for me, I had the lamb bhuna and the the gravy is a bit like stew a mild stew. Like I said though, the decors not to my taste but I know plenty of people who like it so don't let that put you off. Worth a visit.

Lighting more suited to a cocktail bar than a restaurant and the atmosphere was somewhat lacking as we were the only people there at the time! The food was nice although what tthe menu described as a 'medium' curry was VERY mild so I had to ask for extra chillies to spice it up.

Food is excellent and well priced, service is also very good providing its not to busy. The only thing that let's it down is the poor blue lighting which is so dim you can't read the menu
