Monicafe Patisserie in Poole

Whilst the lady working there was friendly, the breakfast was abismal and very expensive! £26 for 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees. The breakfast was such low quality it was shocking. Don’t waste your money and go somewhere else.

The best fresh cakes and pastries in poole and Bournemouth! So fresh, tasty and beautiful to look at! Down to earth coffee shop, also with outdoor seating. Professional catering at sensible prices.

Do not buy the Cornish Pastie not quite up to the Premium of £5.00 served cold !!

Food was delicious and service we received was friendly. Reasonably priced. One blip was a gentleman came in asking how much a pot of tea was. The young lady behind the counter snapped they only did mugs. He again asked price then said could he have a drink for a pound. Again he was snapped at and he left. Maybe he is a regular chancer but it didn't come over well in employee's response.

Absolutely loved this cafe! I was down on holiday from Cornwall visiting family, and found this cafe on Poole high street. The cafe has beautiful decor, I think it had been refurbed since I last visited in 2020, beautiful. Really friendly staff, I had a lovely lady called Monika I believe owns the cafe talking to me after making me a really delicious breakfast. Other staff were also very helpful, a young man helped me after my visit to put my leftover Dorset apple cake in a take away bag (too full from the breakfast good portion sizes!!) . Will be visiting again next time I am down.

“Burnt” coffee - undrinkable. The cafe floor was really dirty. The toilet was unbelievable - the toilet itself was so close to the wall I had to sit sideways! The bad coffee put us off of other food. The step to get in was so high that I tripped getting in. Another person walked away because she couldn’t manage the step. Disabled customers don’t stand a chance. Not going again.

My family and I called in here on a wet afternoon in August. We were greeted by some very friendly staff who instructed us to sit where we felt comfortable as they could see we had our disabled son with us. We ordered 2 Dorset apple cakes and a Bakewell tart, soft drink, tea and coffee. The cakes were superbly presented and tasted as good as they looked. Hubby said the best cup of tea he’s had since being on holiday and I had a lovely latte. Great value for money, excellent service. Would highly recommend to all.

Great little cafe with outstanding staff who really make you welcome. Yummy baguettes and panini swiftly prepared and great selection of drinks. Very good place to stop for lunch.

There are a plethora of places in this High Street to grab lunch, but this one looked very nice inside and out. The staff were welcoming and friendly and service was swift. I had a lovely brie and cranberry baguette. Reasonably priced and very pleasant.

On a recent trip to Poole we decided on a bite to eat , after walking along the high street we found this smart looking cafe that offered plenty of delicious looking food The staff were friendly and welcoming, the café spacious inside and tables to relax outdoors Food was fresh and tasty , mugs of tea and ice coffee were also of good quality

Omg what a gem of a cafe this is ! totally amazing food and staff the attention to presentation is fantastic and the scones were so light and tasty! they even have a ramp for wheelchair users like myself so we can go inside the cafe rather than sit outside can’t thanks the lovely owner enough for our experience thanks for the chat outside the back later in the day !

Sven and Molly served us a lovely piece of giant apple cake and two large mugs of decaf coffee. The giant apple cake was delicious - lovely chunks of apple in a thin pastry, served warm with fresh cream. All the cakes are made on the premises and I took a piece of the Dorset Apple cake for supper. If you are in Poole, check this place out. And the music is good too. Wish I’d taken a photo of the Apple cake.

This is an absolutely amazing cafe - the best in Poole. Great service, really friendly with an excellent and delicious variety - the lunch meal deal is great value. However, the standout is the carrot cake: just try it, it is unbelievably good. Sadly we are not local; if we were, we would go nowhere else!

Monicafe is always welcoming for our little get togethers and we have frequented it for over 5 years. The mocha and cakes never disappoint. A little gem on the High Street.

A great little café with friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. The Croque Monsieur was a great choice and the mug of tea was a very generous size. The Devon Apple cake was flavourful and succulent. I'm so glad we called in on our way down the high street and will visit again when next in Poole. Thank you.

Called in here whilst visiting Poole at the weekend. Have been before for breakfast. We ordered at ham and cheese salad and prawn salad costing £8ish and £9ish respectively. Ham and cheese salad was literally a pile of lettuce, spoon of coleslaw, and red onion in the side. These cheese was literally about 20grams of grated cheese on top mixed in with a half slice of ham cut into tiny pieces. There was also sliced cucumber There was also some toasted small bits of bread. For the money paid, I would expect a slab of cheese and a slice of ham and wedge of crusty bread. Maybe pickle as well. The prawn salad was literally made in a sundae dish like a prawn cocktail. One spoon of prawns with sauce on a bed of lettuce with toasted bread. This was akin to a starter for a meal which you roughly pay £5 for. I realise prices have gone up, but seriously? The drinks came in grotty scratched plastic cups.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Everywhere looked clean and tidy. Varied menu and all day breakfasts served at quite reasonable rates for generous-sized portions. Food freshly prepared, very tasty and nicely presented. I liked their “little people” cruet sets too. Will definitely return.

We have been to Monicafe so many times before and the service has always been brilliant, as it was on this occasion, with Monika's superb home cooked food and recipes. Great smoothies also! The recent revamp of the outside and new flooring on the inside is great to see and has made a huge improvement to the high street, the light and bright colours are just as welcoming as the staff! A definite must for food at any time of the day!

Ordered breakfast, we've been here before and it's was always fantastic. I think it must have changed hands. No table service anymore. The sausages on the breakfast were the absolute cheapest, not very nice at all. There was food not being stored properly on the shelf behind the counter. Should be in a fridge. Just seems a bit dirty in there now. The ketchup tasted like vinegar. Whatever you are paying the young girl with black hair who was cooking, it isn't enough! Way too expensive. Products used way too cheap

Cosy place for a coffee. For breakfast didnt have a great pastry offer but the coffee was nice. Toilet needs an update.

Coffee and bread with some sunshine. Easy access for wheel chair. Clean, tidy and very comfortable.

Disappointed, home made carrot cake was tasteless with cream cheese on top not with icing sugar to sweeten.Dry and couldn't have much carrot in it,no texture or carrot coloured.

Lovely place. We love the bread pudding which is heated(if you want). Just like I used to make in the AGA. Lots of choice on the breakfast front. Enjoy.

A bit too pricey for what you get, but overall it's a lovely little place with nice food. The desserts looked lovely. A milkshake was £4.50, which is too pricey, but I tried it out and was pleasantly surprised; not too sweet, heavy or sickly. It tasted fresh, slightly sweet and delicious. It is still too expensive, I'd say it's worth £2.50, but it would be lovely on a hot day.

Nice little independent cafe , shame panini tuna melt was not warm in middle and cheese not melted. Service was quick and friendly though.Doir was open all the time so not your warm comfy cafe as you would like.

Lovely home made Dorset apple cake

Always friendly faces, Always great food on the menu. The Giant Apple pie is really yummy Yummy. Always a good service. Fantastic coffee and drinks. Always pop in when we are in town, hard to resist and Always a delight. You will not be disappointed.

We popped in for a cuppa and a cake on a day trip to Poole - as everyone was so friendly and polite, we decided to return for lunch too.The menu had an excellent choice on there for breakfast and lunch as well as a great choice of pastries.All the food we had was fresh and tasted delicious.The smoothies were really nice and everything was great value.Would definitely recommend here and would love to return if we are in Poole again.

Lovely location in the centre of Poole, breakfast and the cake was nice. Staff were friendly. However, portions were small and we didn’t believe the price was reflected in portion size.

What a lucky find. We loved the cafe so much that we went back to Poole to have lunch there again. Great fresh food, beautifully presented. Best of all... the staff, so friendly, nothing too much trouble. Honestly the best service we've experienced in a long time. Thank you all at Monicafe.

Polite meet n greet from the lady Told me what was on the menu as to what foods they did. I just had cake n latte. Was expensive for a small square deep cake n latte compared to large slice of cake which l had earlier Under £5. Still the cake was nice. Couldn't drink all my coffee as it tasted strong with n odd taste to it. Yes l mentioned it to the waiter as he collected my plate etc. He said oh. Don't think l will go back

First visit for us today at Monicafe and I would certainly recommend it!! Two guys serving when we went in, both very polite and welcoming. Quick service and absolutely lovely food! I can honestly say the best Wrap I have eaten! Living in Jersey and having many cafes of good quality, this certainly beats a few of them!! Value for money, fresh ingredients and homemade products. Thank you for a very enjoyable lunch!

We were in Poole on a rainy afternoon and decided to give Monicafe a go for lunch. Very pleased that we did as the food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely re-visit if back in Poole again.

Looked nice and sat out in sunshine but food a little disappointing. Asked for a panini ..came out as a slightly undertone baguette. Won't go again.

Advertising local crab sandwiches to eat in for £8:50, expected white crab meat at that price - got brown meat. Felt ripped off.

Went for a coffee and they don't have lacto free milk, had instead soya milk which was fine. The coffee was nice, but I would have provided tea spoon in eco friendly instead of the wooden stick ( self service) as it is a nice cafè and not sturbacks or a take away. The man inside was really smiley, which is amazing for the business, the other guy could smile more.

We all really appreciate this place and not so much for the food (which is really good) or the location as much as for the great people working there. It's a perfect place to go for breakfast, lunch or just simple coffee. Thank you for being our favourite place in the area.

Lovely food, friendly atmosphere.

What makes Monicafe special is that all their cakes are handmade from scratch. Our favourite is the bread pudding! Their crab sandwiches are great too. Everything is available for takeaway now. Extra measures have been put into place to ensure safety, including the installation of screens and a limit on customers entering the cafe.

Always pleasant and lovely food. Looking forward to opening up again. Good luck to you all for the future.

After my first visit to Monicafe it has become a regular haunt. The food is always wonderful, and as someone who is gluten free that is a big thing. The staff are friendly and, if they aren't too busy, have a chat.

When im in poole town i like to pop in for a coffee or some lunch, great homecooked food, friendly helpful staff and reasonable prices, open 8am to 5pm

On a day trip to Poole in need of coffee and cake we visited this excellent Patisserie,on entering the welcome was warm. We chose a selection of cakes and drinks, they were served at our table quickly and tasted as good as they looked. Highly recommenda visit.

Today was the second time I’ve been lucky enough to visit this lovely cafè. We were warmly welcomed and the range of food was good. The croquet madam was very fresh and made with love, and the chilli-con-carne jacket potato my mum had looked lovely. The service was quick, which was very appreciated. I’d highly recommend this cafe to anyone; although I did not sample the cakes, I very much wish I’d had the appetite to! I wish this cafe all the very best. For a good lunch, this is a definite highlight of Poole town, and I will certainly be visiting again!
