Cafe Aroma in Poole

We visited this establishment on a Tuesday lunch time. There was outdoor seating available we chose to sit there and watch the world go by. Orders were taken at the table, but I would note you had to go inside when you wanted to pay. We both ordered Ham egg and chips, which was disappointing. The egg ( yes only 1) was cooked in a ring ( very McDonald’s esq) and was very overdone. No runny yolk as one would expect with this dish to dip chips and ham into. The Ham was ok, and the chips passable but sparse. I’d say possibly we made a bad decedent with what we ordered, however it’s not difficult to get this british staple meal right. I’d say overpriced based on our meal that day. I wouldn’t choose to go back. On a side note and this is outside of the proprietors control. We were bothered several times by shady characters whilst sat outside establishment. All trying to sell counterfeit or stolen perfume and tobacco. They are quite persistent and off putting.

The roast dinner was a Yorkshire pudding which was so soggy it was inedible the roast potatoes were burnt wedges rock hard I'm afraid the chicken was as tough as old boots I have been in for different meals but for the price paid very disappointed won't be ordering one of those again

Wouldn’t go back. We were rushed into ordering as it was busy and they presumably wanted people in and out. Weak tea in chipped teapot. Ordered avocado on sourdough bread with accompanying items. When it arrived it wasn’t sourdough but a crust of a seeded bread and the avocado and eggs were covered in vinegar which completely ruined the taste. The “grilled” tomatoes were solid. Very expensive for the quality.

What a lovely place! Welcoming staff, clean, a cool retro feel. We were here for a light lunch and decided on a toasted ciabatta and an omelette. Both were freshly prepared and cooked perfectly. We have recently started drinking mint tea and the one served here was delicious, served in a glass teapot with a jug of hot top up water. how nice. The service was excellent, just so friendly. Thanks to the new waiter too, learning the trade and doing a great job! Definitely returning whenever we're in Poole. Thank you.

My sister and I decided to give the place a go when we were in shopping in poole. We started to walk into the cafe and a waiter called “hello sit where you like” so we immediately felt welcomed. Within minutes of sitting down a lovely waitress came over to take our drinks order. Drinks arrived promptly and then food order was taken. The menu was sufficiently varied and the food we ordered really nice and reasonably priced. We both ordered baguettes with chips and onion rings to share. The only thing that made it four stars rather than five was the loos which seemed to need a clean and revamp. Although in fairness, the customer base doesn’t help with that. Would definitely go again though. Good food, good service and good prices.

We stopped for lunch at this very busy and popular cafe and were impressed. The staff were working so hard and efficiently. We ordered a pot of tea and jacket potatoes with a side salad. They arrived promptly and were well presented. The jackets were some of the best we've had and the side salad and coleslaw were perfect. A very enjoyable lunch and the staff were very deserving of praise.

Excellent, friendly staff. Good menu choice. Food excellent. First time for most of the family and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back next time we come to poole

It really isn’t difficult to make drinks correctly. Ordered a flat white and a hot chocolate. A flat white is NOT an Americano with frothy milk. It would also be nice to have chocolate powder in the hot chocolate rather than just tasting of milk. Try marking the jug with the correct amount of milk for one cup rather than filling it up and putting a small amount of chocolate powder in. £6.40 wasted.

We're on holiday here so came across this cafe by chance. We had a great meal (& puds!). Staff were very friendly and food was varied and tasty. Definitely recommend

Regular Visitors to Poole, had lunch twice now at Cafe Aroma. On both occasions we were warmly welcomed. All the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a vast menu to choose from plus a specials board. The dishes are well presented and very tasty. This will now be our regular place to eat when we are in Poole

You wont be disappointed if you sit down here. We go here when on holiday for a proper sit down lunch and come over from Purbeck to come here. The fresh orange juice is amazing. You get a good staple meal which is filling and a decent latte. Hot choc, milkshake available too. No complaints!

Do not order from this cafe. They mess up on your order and delivery to an incorrect address. They do not refund or replace food when they make an error. Manager and staff are the most unhelpful people ever and they don't record the correct information.

Love this place. Staff always welcoming and friendly and food good and plentiful. It's often very busy especially at meal times but plenty of waiting and cooking staff so waiting time is not as long as some restaurants/cafes I've been in. Had Sunday roast dinner delivery during lockdown. Very prompt delivery right on time requested. Plenty of good, delivered hot with thickly cut beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and mixed veg with lots of delicious gravy. All very reasonably priced. Just very sad to read some of the reviews as I've never experienced the complaints mentioned by some other reviewers.

We don't get to Poole very often, but when we do and it's lunchtime, we go to Aroma. We went there ten days ago and we both had hog roast platter, jacket potato and salad. We had thought about having a sneaky pud, but frankly we'd never have managed to eat it. The hog roast was tender and the whole meal delicious.On the restrictions side of things, hand sanitising at the door, social distancing rigorously implemented and all the cleaning of tables, seats you'd want. Plenty of good, attentive but not overbearing service and of course courteous staff. Heartily recommended. Thank you Aroma team.

Came here this morning as the hotel we were staying at were unable to provide us with breakfast. Service was quick, friendly and informal. Great staff, 2 happy teenagers and adults left full and at a good price, would recommend to anyone visiting the area! Went for breakfast with my daughter and grandson. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Food was freshly cooked and plentiful. Service was efficient and staff friendly and cheerful. We were very happy with all aspects of meal and highly recommend a visit.

Having a leaflet posted through the door yoday could for some possibly be the most fangerous thing to deal with in the current pandemic situation.When advising the person posting, whom was wearing NO ppe, gloves, mask or upon stating that leaflets were NOT welcome and were dangerous and irresponsible to post he did re-enter his car and leave.The implications of posting leaflets are beyond words, which is very clearly not grasped or this practice would not occur.I wouldn't shop with them knowing such disregard was applied to their 'customers', who are now their victims!That statement would be ridiculous 3 months ago, but now is quite a real scenario, so in future (and you should always have done this) give careful thought and consideration to your actions before carrying them out.

The staff were very friendly and polite. I tried this place as read the reviews. But sorry to say the oil they used for the breakfast made me feel very sick. By the time I got home was very ill. I would go there for a coffee but will never eat there again.

Only came in by chance but wow what a welcome. Great to go somewhere where you feel your custom is appreciated. Excellent lattes and excellent service. Will be back for food next time.

If you are popping in here for a coffee it's quite noisy so really can't here yourself speak.But the service was good.

All the normal ‘fast food’ outlets were bursting when we discovered this Gem and were welcomed with open arms into this busy tardis. The waiters were friendly, service was excellent and the food was delicious. Everyone chose a different meal and we all enjoyed every mouthful. My only complaint is we had not found this tasty restaurant before. Pass by and you will miss out on a rare treat.

Saw this cafe had good reviews so decided to try it to. We sat out the front, was greeted by a cheerful waiter who engaged in pleasant banter. Very accommodating, allowed alterations to the menu selection. Food was plentiful and tasted fine, didn’t enjoy my freshly ground coffee, tasted bland, but the food more than made up for it. Four people, breakfast and hot drinks, £28. Can’t go wrong with that.

Four of us go for breakfast once a fortnight taking it in turn to choose the venue. Today was our choice and we chose Cafe Aroma. What can we say about this wonderful restaurant. Everything was superb, staff were brilliant, so attentive, quick and helful. Food was delicious, hot, tasty and of excellent quality. We have a score sheet and am so thrilled to say that Cafe Aroma are winning with a score of 94/100.Well done to all concerned and thank you for making our experience so enjoyable. Lovely welcome when we walked in, immediately felt at home. We ordered the full english and when we said no beans on one plate, we were immediately offered a substitute of our choice. The food arrived very quickly, was piping hot and delicious. What more can you ask for? Ah, good value too!

They have a garden at back and tables on the front. This is the first time we have been here, would definitely come back again.

Me and my wife decided that we fancied breakfast so we popped in this place from first impressions wow it was very clean the staff greeted us warmly explained how it works we found a seat the menu had plenty of good options within a few minutes they came and took our order the food was outstanding it was cooked to perfection nothing was to much trouble everyone that walked in was greeted with a very friendly welcome we will definitely be coming back again I really hope that more people will come here and enjoy the same experience here that we had

We have been using the Aroma cafe in Poole ever since they opened and have never been disappointed.Not with the food, not with the drinks and certainly not with the cheerful good nature and professionalism of the staff.They seem to know every customer by name and their likes and dislikes!The food is tasty, well prepared and very reasonably priced.Whether you need a snack such as a Danish or toasted tea cake, something a bit more substantial such as a sandwich or baguette, the “full monty” all day breakfast or a cooked lunch, you will find it at the Aroma Cafe!Every day there are “specials”. For example, today there is the choice of “Big 12oz. Aroma Burger with all the trimmings”, “Braised Lamb Shank with mash, vegetables and gravy”. “Homemade pasta with broccoli & Mushroom sauce”, or “Mexican sizzling chicken fajitas”. Mmmmmm!To top it off you might want a beer, a glass of wine or one of their excellent coffees. To say nothing of the cakes, apple pie, lemon meringue or ice cream.If you are in the Poole area, do yourself a favour and seek out the Aroma Cafe. We always do.Peter & Jean. :o)

We popped in exhausted after shopping in the dolphin. The guys working the desk and the bar are so lovely we felt like regulars and we shall be now. Lovely food and great service.

With not a lot of time we were looking for a quick brunch. Me and my wife entered Cafe Aroma to be warmly greeted by the manager, seated in a flash with some fun banter we both ordered the cheeseburger. Food arrived very quickly and while it was clearly all processed and pre-prepared it was also tasty and hot!

Having been turned away from the Chinese restaurant as they no longer do set lunches at the weekend, we ended up at Aroma. What a difference! Heaving (as opposed to empty) with staff & patrons squeezing to try to get past/in/out. I ordered the calves' liver special with bacon, mash, onion gravy & veg of the day (5) and my partner had the Quorn mac & cheese. I have to say that service was not the speediest, but I did notice that no one who came in after us got their food before us, so I guess it was just volume of traffic. My liver was fresh cooked (still pink inside) and the plate was loaded. My partner's plate was no less full, with a bowl with the Quorn mac & cheese plus salad and 3 pieces of baguette on the side. Yes, I will go there again, although I will allow myself some more time, especially if I have to be somewhere in the afternoon.

As soon as you walk in to Cafe Aroma, you'll be met with a warm welcoming smile and offered a table of your choice. Service and quality is very good indeed; great espresso coffee and toasties! You really do feel as though your custom is valued and regulars (I was visiting Poole for the day) offered and extra special welcome, which was heartening to witness. There are (as is ever the case) a number of chain cafe operations in Poole, but local communities are well served by independents such as Cafe Aroma!

We've been eating at this restaurant for years but most recently, my daughter and I found hair in our food so we're never eating there ever again :(

I have regularly eaten here and decided I must put in a review. Popped in for lunch today, as usual, food was excellent and staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The attitude of all staff is always excellent, they welcome you on arrival, show you to a seat and take your order when ready. The tables are always cleaned quickly and properly sanitized. I wish some of the larger establishments would take note!Well worth a visit for food if you are in Poole High Street.

Very friendly staff, good food, and reasonably priced. Relaxed atmosphere, you can have a snack or meal with wine, bottle of wine is quiet reasonable. They have a little garden so you can eat outside, We had omelette mine with salad, the dressing was home made and very good, my husband had chips with his. We enjoyed our lunch and will go back.
