Deli on the Quay in Poole

I had an early lunch today and was given thoughtful and knowledgeable help regarding ingredients. The club sandwich I had (GF, I felt confident, given the knowledge of the server that cross contamination risk was going to be low) was absolutely delicious. The coffee was very good too. Good friendly service. Will I be back- oh yes!

The best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! It’s the 2nd time I’ve come this week I definitely recommend for a lovely breakfast!

What an excellent place! Happy, chatty staff who truly made you feel welcome and looked after!!! Especially the tall blonde lady! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, the broccoli & mandarin salad being a firm favourite!!! All food well presented & so very tasty! We will be back!!!!

The cafe has a great vibe, nice staff, amazing food, and the owner is lovely. I always enjoy going to Deli on the Quay. A must if you're in Poole.

We stopped here for a quick lunch before heading over to Brownsea Island. It was extremely busy, inside and out...there were three of us and somehow we managed to get one! Only downside was the 30 minute wait for food - we were told it would be 20 and as I was about to get up and ask about our lunch at the 30 minute point it arrived. The waitress apologised for the wait without hesitation and it didn't disappoint. Good quality ingredients, hot and fresh wraps, panini and toasties were enjoyed by us all. The vegetarian options are great and takeaway is quicker than eating in if you don't want to hang around. The pies and salads look incredible and if we find ourselves that way again we will definitely drop in. We didn't use the facilities but we were sat nearby and I can confirm I heard no-one complain about them coming out, neither could we smell them! They also have artisan deli food for sale; breadsticks, pasta, hot sauces, chutneys etc It was a lovely place to stop for a bite.

Great food, nice staff, fair prices and good coffee. I have been three times now, each a couple of years apart, before setting off for Brownsea for the day and they maintain their standards. Takeaway sandwich thoughtfully wrapped in paper, no excessive packing or plastic.

Not to sure having the full English breakfast again.

Food always good, thank you Toby. However the shorter female member of staff needs to not speak about me in a rude manner in front of other staff members and right by me! Accept that you heard my order wrong and kindly remake it next time without mouthing off about me. Been a customer for over 10 years and do not expect to be treated like this.

This was probably our last visit to Poole, we have sold our house. When completion was set, the first thing my wife said was “we can have lunch at the Deli on the Quay” with a big smile. We have been regulars over the years since it opened , with and without friends in tow. Always a smile and good food. Today was an excellent club sandwich and pastrami bagel. Didn’t think I needed to leave a review in the past as the best way is to keep going back when you enjoy something . If you are going to Poole, you need to go to the Deli on the Quay

The start of kids holiday, eggs Boudin and laVazza Coffee. It doesn't really matter where you sit, all good. Fresh eggs,meat, polite staff. Back again in Poole for Dr Feelgood, early lunch here. Coffee with fresh bread, or panini, if your posh, lol

Needed breakfast after a party the day before, and this really hit the spot. Decent coffee and a full English. Well cooked with proper toast made with proper bread. Not huge, but big enough. Partner had eggs benedict, and they looked good, too. Not the cheapest breakfast I've had, but it was delicious.

Dropped in for breakfast this morning, nice menu, well cooked food.

I love coming here because of the customer service! The staff are amazing, especially Will and James, they really make it feel local, welcoming, and warm.

After receiving a recommendation from the volunteers at the RNLI museum we visited this establishment. The selection was excellent and all looked very appetising. My wife had homemade quiche with various salads and I went for the club sandwich. We then saw the scones and somehow found room for scones and coffee as a dessert. Coffee very good and scones as good as they looked ! Staff very pleasant and appear to enjoy their work.

Wonderful views of the harbour and Brownsea island, food is great and staff are so friendly. Just so nice to sit, have a drink and chat. We won’t go anywhere else!

Come here often as we live in Poole. It's a lovely place to sit outside in the sun and watch the world go by! Great service, coffee, milkshakes and food.

Love the quiche and salad which are my favourites. You order at the counter and are served at the table.

Had a light lunch here today. Campese Bagel and Quiche with a Mediterranean Salad - Excellent. It was quite busy inside and outside, but we didn't have to wait long for our food.

The food was fresh and delicious. Service was good and the staff where very smiley. It was cold outside and the venue was warm and welcoming. There where lots of locals which is always a good sign.

Blimey the prices in this place have skyrocketed since before Covid. Portions smaller too. I used to come here a few times week as im local, but now its just very occasionally.

Nice view, from tables outside and in. Even simple choices are beautifully presented. Hot and cold breakfasts first thing on a Sunday and every day.

I visit this cafe on Poole quay at least once a month with family and friends. The food is freshly prepared, plenty of selection and reasonably priced. In addition their coffee is so good- unlike nearby venues ! The staff are helpful, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Love the homemade sausage rolls, and quiches. Nothing beats a warm winters day , sitting outside in the sunshine watching life in the harbour and fishing boats. Simply a ‘must visit ‘ on Poole Quay.

Had a coffee and a slice of an enormous Christmas cake, sadly the slice bought to the table was very small but expensive

The deli was very popular and we were lucky to get seats inside. Service was vey polite and prompt. Food came piping hot and portions are bery generous. I enjoyed a delicious Kate and Sidney pipe, good lady had a sausage roll - luckily she opted for the "small" one. Sandwiches wer emormous.Drinks were also up to scratch. Recomened. Nice range od wares in the shelves.

We had the full English breakfast it was just amazing... we both do not like beans, so when ordering, we told the waitress who very promptly asked what would we like extra of instead of beans we told her in a short space of time our drinks were brought over to us closely followed by our breakfast Thank you 😊

I went into this cafe last weekend and was greeted rather rudely by a young girl with blonde hair, I don’t remember seeing a name tag however she seemed to be the only one on the shift within the time 12-1pm on the Saturday I visited. I went to order, and she stated ‘what do you want?’ rather than politely greeting me and requesting my order. She then grabbed the money out of my hand, since I only had cash/wasn’t paying contactless, and when she provided my change, she put it onto the desk rather than handing it to me like a normal employee. I understand that this isn’t the manager’s fault, however I believe that this girl should not be within this job field, and would work better in a factory or a non-sociable role. I really hate to say it, but this young girl really isn’t fitted for this beautiful cafe, and she really is bringing you down.

Had 2 bacon sandwiches at Deli on the quay, bread was so dry we could barely swallow it, had asked for butter but couldn't detect any, definitely not worth the money,

Really good value. The toasties are lavish and tasty. Service is impeccable.

Sipping their coffee right now, having demolished a full English. Hubby approves of their smashed avo and little miss is enjoying her waffle. Lovely setting , friendly staff , good food and delicious (good size) coffee. Glad we found this to recharge, after a long day of ferry ride the previous day.

I have been here for lunch several times and for breakfast once. The food tastes great, with good quality ingredients and fresh food. I love their choices of salads that you can order with a lot of the meals. I’ve been with a few different people and they always love it too. It’s reasonably priced and the views are fab on a sunny day. My go to place for lunch In Poole.

Enjoying the last of the summer on Poole Quay. Just had pulled pork and coleslaw in a soft brioche bun - delicious. Been here twice recently and each time, I was impressed by both the food and the service. Add in the view and it's a winner.

Wow, what a place. I've been in a hell of a lot of coffee/cafes in my time but this place to me takes top of the league. The staff are absolutely fantastic always taking your orders with a happy smile and a welcome greeting. The food and drinks we had were fantastic, good homely cooking. The toilet was well cared for & very clean. We have used this place a few times now as we stopped off in our boat in the marina opposite the Deli. The Deli has wonderful views across Poole harbour to Brownsea island. Would we come back to the Deli? Most definitely looking forward to our next visit next year.

We call into the Deli 3 to 4 times a week for a coffee, snack or breakfast and never been disappointed. Sit outside in the sun or sit in the window seats and watch the world go by. Lovely views over the harbour to Brownsea Island.

Quite possibly the best full English I have had, would of been the best if they had some black pudding, but unfortunately today they didn’t.. we did get some extra bacon though, which was really tasty. The ham hock bubble and squeak was epic. Also they provided playdo, which entertained the children while we waited for breakfast, great little touch. Service was faultless and the staff were very friendly!!

Lovely cafe on the quay with lots of outside seating during nice weather. Food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced for amount you receive. Very friendly staff and lots of vegan/vegetarian options for all. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

One of the best club sandwiches I've ever had, topped off with amazing chocolate cannoli. More than happy to pay a small amount more and support local when the quality is this good. Recommended to anyone visiting Poole.

This is a nice cafe on the harbor at Poole. The place is a quaint little place next to the waterfront on a busy stretch. It’s a cafe but it also sells some products. So you might have some people looking at the shelves around you. They also have some nice outdoor sitting. We ordered coffee and a goat cheese and sweet potato pie and Beef and Stilton pie. The pies were both served with some salad and were both good but not amazing. The coffee was fine also. It’s a good place for a brunch after a walk around the harbor. Overall a nice place sitting next to the harbor with some decent food

Wife and I called in at 11.10 on a Tuesday morning for coffee's but had just missed breakfast which finishes at 11.00am. Staff/team were brilliant, friendly and helpful and in addition to our coffee's and instead of breakfast they suggested a bacon/sausage sandwich. Served at our table, with a smile. I highly recommend a visit where you can sit inside or outside, in or out of the sun and have a fantastic break and refreshments.

I waited at the counter for 5 minutes staff ignored me before I was then ordered to stand in exactly the right spot 2’ from where I was standing otherwise I wouldn’t get served. I didn’t stay!

Had a lovely brunch this morning- good choice but limited supply of savoury pastries Sat inside as the outside tables were full- lovely views over Poole Quay and the harbour. If you sit inside it is very noisy with the clatter of crockery and the fire alarm test going off 10 times an hour on a Tuesday morning - left early because of this

Yummy food, polite staff, good value! We went in at about 9:30am on a Sunday morning and there was a great range of food and plenty of space to sit inside or outside.

Really delicious lunch of a moist Quiche Lorraine warmed especially for me, along with two salads of my choice. Followed by a lovely coffee with an orange almond cake. Great location and a fab place to while away an hour or so.

Great little cafe with a good atmosphere but only downside is that it is quite a small cafe! We are a family of 4 and struggled to get our double pram in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend!! Only reason for 4 stars was due to the size other a really good place for lunch!

Wonderful fresh and delicious food. Had a lovely breakfast with excellent service. The team here really work hard but make it look effortless. You'd be mad not to stop here for a bite to eat.

Visited today with a friend for brunch. I asked to have bacon and brie in croissant which was not on the menu but they very kindly obliged. Staff were friendly, food was lovely. Will visit again.

We visited the deli to have breakfast. The granola with berries and yoghurt was huge, a pity i had also ordered a sausage sandwich to go with it, which was equally large. My husband enjoyed the full English breakfast too.

The Boudin Noir in the Eggs Boudin Noir was actually black pudding. Boudin Noir should be looser in texture and crispier than the British black pudding which is what I believe I was given. Therefore, what I ordered was not quite what was expected. However, the service and quality of food was great as usual. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and not much of a wait, considering every table was occupied. I can recommend the bacon sandwiches, they are amazing and I will be ordering one on my next visit.

Love the quality of the food and drink, cleanliness...etc. It would be great if it was open after 4 pm, maybe til 5:30 - 6pm. Never understood why it closes at 4 pm in the summer.

First port of call is to The Deli at the start of our holiday, even if just for ice-cream. Tried quiche with two side salads and it was so good then on my last day I had the salmon quiche literally fresh from the oven. The Manager suggested trying the broccoli and orange salad and, wow, it was amazing. Eat in or take-away option. Fabulous spot to enjoy the beautiful harbour along with the wonderful food. Staff are brilliant, friendly and welcoming.

Went here for a full breakfast… really really great food.. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for everyone!!! They were a credit to the owners. It’s position on the quay makes it easy to find and it’s vibrant and buzzing all day .

Lovely setting right on the key. Friendly staff but menu was a little disjointed. Lots of delicious pies on display but nothing to go with them other than deli 'salads' If you are hungry enough for a lovely steak and kidney pie, you want a proper meal with potatoes or chips and some nice veg and gravy to go with it. Not couscous and slaw. Damn shame.

Enjoyed the atmosphere . Nice produce that looked very tasty. My only downside were the dogs that were allowed inside. Didn't stop long as my son has an allergy to animal fur . its a small space to have dogs

First visit here since moving to the area. I only had a coffee and a danish but ordering was easy to do inside (and dog was allowed in with me which is often a problem if on own) so that was brilliant. Service quick, pleasant...

Situated in a great location unfortunately the flat white coffee was probably the worst we have ever had which is such a shame for such a lovely place

We just fancied a coffee and it looked busy from outside so joined the clan. Inside was a array of pies and sausage rolls with my name on, although my wife found them a little grisly. It was a little disorganised inside with food and...

We always head here when we are in Poole, again we were treated to fantastic service and delicious ice cream. The other goodies looked fantastic too and the atmosphere is lovely. It’s hard to keep up with such high standards but they manage every time
