4 of us recently visited MoMo King in Havelock street Swindon for dinner. We have eaten Nepalese cuisine before and very much enjoyed it. MoMo had a reputation for authentic Nepalese dishes and boy, were we in for a treat !! The venue is well appointed, spotlessly clean with a great atmosphere, attentive staff and genuine Gurkha beer to boot ! The menu is packed with delicious, authentic Nepalese dishes, so many, in fact, it’s difficult to choose !! The Samosa Chat is a pure culinary delight and as the name of the restaurant suggests, they are the King of MoMo !!….. Definitely try them. We had a great evening, fantastic food and service, and it was excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning again soon, and in the meantime, if we crave one of their dishes at home….. they do takeaway also !!! Perfect, thank you MoMo King, and well done.

I’ve been here three times now and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. It’s not a grand restaurant but is my favourite for quality and the momo dishes are exceptional.

Bhatnas and peanuts sandheko and samosa chat for Karen along with aalu paratha which we all shared. Chris had prawn fried noodles and I had the Nepali khaja taas (lamb) set. It would have been good if their Momo dishes came smaller (rather than 10 of each), so we could have shared a few as they looked so good on another table BUT having 10 with only one vegtable option meant we couldn't pick and share. We all agreed very tasty with accompanying drinks followed by more drinks in refurbished Rolleston Arms.

Had a takeaway from outside the Swindon outlet and always wanted to taste it as it smells delicious. We had the curry and rice and chicken noodles. The food was fresh but no flavor what so ever. Very disappointed and I thought it was very expensive for the food. Meals came to £15, the curry sauce had been absorbed by the rice as well and chicken tough. Would not return or recommend.

We often order takeaway from here or stop by the stand at the Swindon Outlet. Definitely the best Momos I've had. The vegetarian choices are excellent. I'm a big fan of the Chatpate and the Vegan Jhol Momo. Their tangy tomato sauce is amazing.

Visited here whilst waiting for my train. I had the vegan dumplings and the vegan noodles, which were delicious. Crisp vegetables, and spiced just the right amount.

Great food, extent value, used for takeaway a number of times and never disappointed. The vegan options are great. The chip chilli, momo johl, and chat pat are some of your favourites, bet we've not yet found a dish we don't love. Definitely worth a visit.

A friend brought me to Momo King for lunch today - it's the first time I've eaten Nepalese food. It was excellent. The food was freshly cooked to order, plentiful, with delicious flavours. I had Chicken Lollipops for starters, followed by Buffalo Mo-mo Jhol (dumplings in hot, spicy soup) with a Mango yoghurt drink called Mango Lassi. The service for very good, and the prices very reasonable. I'm already recommending it to friends, and looking forward to my next visit. If you like spicy Asian food, you will love this place. And yes, they do take-away delivery too.

Really yummy chicken momos with a spicy sauce. At £4 for 10 they're hardly expensive and on a freezing winter day they're the perfect thing for a walk home after the library. So so good.

What an amazing find. It’s apparently really hard to find a sit down restaurant in this part of town, everything is take away. Well, it was definitely worth hanging around. Food was excellent, very tasteful and authentic, the staff were friendly, and everything came out fast. We enjoyed our dinner very much!

Absolutely infuriated by the unprofessional experience I've had with one of the waiters. I've come here for the second time as I've been here before and I live three hours away. I went in with my partner and we were sat down towards the left side of the restaurant with a blue light from the floor glaring into our eyes. (The waiter we had was a slim guy in a dark blue shirt) He came over to the table and gave the food menu and drinks menu which I kindly refused as we do not drink. I can see him looking over at the table and bickering about us to his colleagues and quite obviously it's racial since me and my partner are "mixed" now this is the worst bit.. he randomly comes over to the table approaching me and out of nowhere says "are you muslim?" to which I said "no" and he proceeds to ask "are you fasting?" The absolute cheek of him to come over to my table and ask me racist questions like that's any of his business? Me and my partner were very uncomfortable and we didn't want to cause a huge scene so we left it. We are there, paying for our food, why did he come over and ask such questions to me? Because I'm not white? Would you ask a white person that same question? There's other people being served, they didn't get asked those questions. I am honestly dumbfounded by such comments made by that employee, utterly disgusted. Guess what.. it gets even worse. Their family/relatives were sitting opposite me and they were having their food to break their fast with the restaurant staff, one of the women sat there had her phone held up to her face clearly angled towards me like she's filming/taking photos of me and my partner and trying to be sneaky about it because when I looked over at her directly she put her hand over the camera on the back of her phone so clearly she was doing something dodgy. The whole time they were sat there bickering and giving dirty looks. Whatever the reason was asking me dodgy questions by the first employee, this is inexcusable.. secretly recording us. Now who are they to judge? A girl in a hijab was pouring a pint behind the counter especially during ramadan fasting hours. You are making haram money yet have the audacity to ask customers such inappropriate questions? And why is my personal life any of your business? Cultures like yours and people like you are who ruin nowadays generation and force your children to only marry within their own ethnicity otherwise you get disowned. The food is absolutely brilliant, one of the best I've had in all honesty but due to this horrible experience we will not be returning. Maybe if people weren't so judgemental while choosing to live in the UK especially. If you choose to raise kids here then don't expect them to follow your backwards rules. Caring more about what other people will think than your own child's happiness isn't good either. I hope you all have a really hard think to yourselves after reading this and stop promoting toxic cultures.
