Momo House in Reading

The best meal I've had in Reading! I can't believe I waited so long to order from Momo House - I've been missing out. Absolutely delicious.

The lamb was quite boney, so not meaty enough. The sauce was a little too salty too.

Consistently excellent food, very reasonably priced with excellent service. Can’t fault it.

Absolutely lovely restaurant, the staff are so accommodating. Really lovely food, would recommend. It is a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are so lovely and have a laugh with you. We always come here for all family birthdays.

Just ordered in for the family, the corma is awful, it's like they have never made a corma before in their life. What a disappointment! So little meat and the taste is as if the sause had not been cooked and missing so much of the flavour you'd expect from and ordinary corma. Will never buy from them again.

Momo's are the best! The best take away curry we've ever had. Our Nepalese Neighbours recommended we go to Momo for Delicious and Authentic Nepalese Curry and we're so glad we did. Always delivered with a smile, the friendly staff have convinced us we have to pay the restaurant a visit soon. If the take away is this good how good will eating in be?? Thanks again guys.

Terrible food I have no idea how this restaurant has 4+ stars. I ordered chicken momos, parathas, Garlic naan, chicken chili and chicken tikka. Not one thing of it was good. Momos was bland, the chutney had no flavor, paratha was a flat lump of flour, chicken chilli was just soy sauce in chicken fry & overfried onions, chicken tikka had nothing to do with tikka seasonings. Wasted 30 pounds for nothing. Super disappointing after a long day of work you expect to have familiar comfort food that turned out to be garbage.

Overall Food is okay. Veg thali is good. Should try. Daal in thali was very good. Veg steamed momos are okay Veg dumphuk biryani was not good Service is good

Was cold and restaurant had marked food as delivered when it had not left yet. Disappointing as even though it was stone cold, the quality of food appeared to be good.

Disgracefully slow delivery, no communication and 1hr 45 mins is not acceptable, will never be ordering here again

Greate lamb vindaloo, lamb Korma was too sweet and thin and watery.

I had sea bass, bombay potatoes and Peshawari nahn, each dish was perfection.

Ordered chicken tikka masala and got chicken in tomato soup. Also ordered aloa gobi, the cauliflower was hard not cooked. Also ordered kema naan, no kema just got burnt naan bread. Won't be going back.

We’re so glad Momo House has reopened following refurbishments! Prawn Saag is new on the menu and highly recommended. Chicken Sekuwa was nicely spiced and cooked to perfection. We always receive a warm welcome and are well looked after. Thank you Bir and team!

Delighted that Momo House has re-opened after a summer break. Although one can order from the a la carte we opted to sample the buffet and were not disappointed. A good range of starters and mains but with the characteristic mastery of the herbs and spices. The new recipe for pulao rice was much appreciated. Something for everyone's palate and appetite. Wishing you every success - we will be back soon!

Re-opened today..... and we weren't disappointed. Staff still lovely. Food still great. New trail with a buffet ......very nice. Support local businesses or we lose them.

Since moving from London to Berks, almost every Indian/Asian restaurant has been disappointing. We randomly thought to give this a try since Nepalese cuisines has many similarities and it turned out to be a real gem! All our dishes were excellent and we're definitely going back for seconds.

For those looking to explore Nepalese food, this is a great restaurant to start. For me personally, the restaurant being Non-Halal was brilliant as it is hard to find such restaurants in Reading. Fantastic food, enticing aromas fill the restaurant. So much so, I forgot to take pictures and dove straight in! The location is not that great but it doesn't impact the atmosphere inside. The prices are high for its location, but the flavour of the food is worth it. I would say they are charging prices of Central Reading, and I would have had no issues with that if the setting was better.

Small and very friendly restaurant. I've been there today just after 6pm to have a dinner. Usually I have a nice dishes here but today I'm a bit disappointed with my order. I order has a starter; prawns but I can't even remember the full name. I get 4 king Prawns with raw salad, but I can't get any flavour on it? Anyways...as a main, I ordered Himalayan Seafood with rice but I have to say this dish have everything except Seafood 😔 I even ask to the waiter if I get the right main because I couldn't find a single prawn. Just sauce and sauce... a bit of Squid and few mussels. For dessert, I ordered a walnut ice cream and I have to say, was delicious. I hope to be more lucky with my order next time? Cheers 🍻

The food is a disaster!! But delivery is good but what’s the point of that if I wasted my money on the tasteless food!

It was very late and at some point it showed as delivered when it wasn't. The food ok but I prefer other Nepalese restaurants

The food took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive, was terrible and inedible. The sauce was runny. Alot of the order was wrong. Nothing was labelled. Absolutely terrible. Dry chicken , over cooked naan and the curry that did have sauce was watery.

We thought trying some food from momo house as we have heard about this place so much. popped in on last friday night with two others friends, we were welcomed with smiles and food was amazing. Highly recommended.

The food was fine, with a few elements such as the bread and the momo's, but the curries were a bit underwhelming to my taste.

Good prices, very friendly and delivered on time, but (sorry Momo House) taste just wasn't quite there. Quite bland, quite watery and the dishes without sauce were kind of dry. So overall fine, but unlikely to be coming back here for a Sunday night take out.

The daal was a big disappointment. Very watery, almost soup and the lentils were undercooked. Other elements of the meal were tasty.

We hadn't tried Momo House before - we made a large order online only to realise that we were outside the delivery area. Crossing our fingers we gave them a call… and with zero fuss, our order was taken over the phone, an exception was made about the delivery area, the food when it arrived was just delicious: a flawless experience, really. We have no downloaded the app and will definitely be back - thank you, Momo House!

Chilli paneer was not spicy at all and looked more like onion salad with soy sauce. Hardly any chilli in chilli rice. Curry sauce was very thin and watery. I won't order again. A shame as I have eaten in the restaurant and it was nice

Food arrived 40 minutes after the end of their time slot and I had to warm it up. Not a word out of the delivery driver, no appology or comment, not even a papadom to say sorry. This is the worst experience I have had with Momo House and after that, I probably won't order from them again.

The food is always fantastic and delivered piping hot, on time and with a smile. The best restaurant in Reading by far.

Most amazing experience ! Very clean with a fantastic hospitality from the team. Very friendly , welcoming and huge range of foods to choose from. Vegetarian, vegan and also Thali was very nice. Reasonably priced and good portions. Very courteous team and foods was prepared freshly and prentatuon was good too. Didn’t have to wait long after placing our orders. Would highly recommend Momo House to everyone for a fantastic experience and the awesome tasty foods on offer. Ample parking in that precinct area. Can’t thank them enough for the hospital shown and a very good evening spent there with my family. A must visit place when in the area for lunch or dinner. Good ambience too.

The last time i ordered (not curry) was a good quality. But this time them Chicken curry & Lamb you know, it needs improvement. And also Piro wings is so misleading 🤣, two bbq wings with salad drizzle....

We have been using momo for a couple of months, the onion Bahai are flat and non tasteless. I have made another order tonight and I paid by card. The driver turned up with half the order and stated I had not paid, very embarrassing in front of company. Lesson learned no more orders from us.

The quantity was very less . Ordered 3 portions of chicken lollipops got 3 pieces in a pack and just crispy batter on the bone and half filled with dried salad ( not fresh). Not worth it.

My wife and I chose Momo House for our anniversary meal. The service was excellent and the food was superb. We were made to feel extra special with offer to have photos taken and sparklers came with our desert which was a lovely gesture to mark the special occasion. We loved our experience and strongly recommend this absolute gem!

The food was all tasty, especially the momos. The tadka dal was lovely but a bit too salty. The naan was a bit of a letdown: bland and tough.

Delivery on time, food hot, big portion and very tasty

Food was marked on app as delivered but didn't actually arrive until almost half an hour late and after I had rung to check where it was. When it arrived the tarka dhal was literally a pot of water with half a desert spoon of lentils. Incredibly unappetising and terrible for almost £5. Rest of the food was ok and we have ordered before and been pleased with the food but with one dish out of four of such poor quality this time will think twice before ordering again.
