Pho in Reading

Our first experience of Vietmanese food. Venue quite noisy and like most restaurants now , the side door has a regular stream of deliveroo type drivers. Try not to sit near this door. Table slightly sticky and bar surfaces covered in crumbs. Wine used in spritzer definitely sharp but otherwise good range of juices on offer. Food arrives quickly though getting western cutlery was slow if you are struggling with chopsticks. Staff clear the tables for the next day and bag the bins etc when customers are still present in the restaurant. No environmental health scores visible on door. Staff very polite and managers obviously doing their job well.

Food was OK. The main gripe is they don't take cash payments. So we will reduce our visits there. Shame really.

Easy online booking system and you can call to add extra people if needed. Good am ambience and location. Excellent service and delicious food with lots of different things to try. Reasonable pricing. Staff friendly and helpful.

I was been Cheltenham pho and Liverpool pho but I prefer Reading pho is the best The best food and best quality service Thanks chef Sergio and all the team. I hope I will back again soon

We wery often go to Pho Reading. It's always good. Food great value for money in view of how packed it is with flavor. We have always liked the staff, relaxed but attentive when needed. We will be going back soon and many more after.

The food was tasty,cute restaurant, but was let down by the manager, who was smoking at the front of the restaurant when we arrived. She had a phone on her which continually rang (very loud) she alsi shouted about goung to the shops and bringing back chocolate for the staff, we shouldn't have been aware of all this. We felt like we we're in the way. She apologised and offered a discount which we didn't accept as it wasn't about the money. We wouldn't go back as the whole experience was not relaxing, which is a shame because the food was delicious

Well, I could comment on how friendly and helpful the staff is, the great vibe, AMAZING dishes - this menu might have the most item I find delicious among places I visited - but instead I am just going to say this: this week I dined here 6 times! :) …try out the place and you might end up beating my record! :)

Wonderful place for having lunch,the meal was delicious. The curry was very tasty!!! Our waitress was Margarita who assist us incredible., It was the first time that we was in Pho, so we will repeat.

The food was really good but the waitress was extremely rude and had an awful attitude, totally ruined our experience and has put me off returning.

We had a lovely meal at Pho, an elegant, easygoing eatery in the Village arcade.. I started with the wings, which were excellent. Followed by a main dish of beef brisket pho, a big soupy bowl of pulled beef, veg, and flat noodles. I spiced it up perfectly with the chilli oil condiment and soy sauce. All very tasty and filling. And set off with some Beavertown Neck Oils. Staff were magnificent: a charming, cheerful young waiter and waitress, and a brilliant supervising lady.

We ordered for delivery and spent about £70 and it arrived and had missing items and also all the spring rolls were completely burnt and inedible. If the person cooking allows this to be sent out they obviously do not care at all. Very disappointing.

I love vietnamese food and I've visited many locations of Pho in London, but today I'm r3ally disappointed. We wanted to have a nice dinner after a long day in Bristol. But... We've ordered morning glory and spring rolls. The morning glory was undercooked and salty. For mains Noodles and Curry soup and Wok fried noodles and beef. The noodles was undercooked and cold and the fried one emreally oily. The chef in the front of the kitchen was eating all the time and at the same time touching the food. I think that's a really disgusting practice. We didn't finished our food. One more thing, guys someone needs to clean the toilets they are really smelly. For the service I don't have any complaints, the Asian waitress was friendly and polite.

Los entrantes llegaron rápido, eran de pato y rollitos de primavera y estaban riquísimos, sin embargo el plato principal tardó un rato (aproximadamente una hora y media) y perdimos nuestro pedido en la cocina, pero nos dio un 15% de descuento por eso. Fue comida encantadora (grandes porciones) y una gran atmósfera.

Viajo a Londres y he trabajado al borde de la escena del café vietnamita en Clerkenwell. Dada la presunta competencia, la comida es vibrante, fresca y es un buen reflejo de los platos de su tierra natal.En un momento de debilidad, imaginé algunos panecillos de arroz con salsa agridulce, hierbas y ensalada. Hace unos años tuve una ensalada de papaya verde en Pho en Clerkenwell, y fue un intento creíble, dado que es el Reino Unido, no tropical, etc. Hace un par de meses estuve en Hanoi, así que no tuve presión.Así que entré en Pho en Reading para obtener mi solución, eligiendo el análogo más cercano en el menú. Cuando me quejé de la falta de hierbas frescas como se especifica en el menú, una excavación forense aseguró revelar los varios mm2 de cilantro fresco. Entonces, técnicamente, estaban presentes.Me trajeron un plato lleno de hierbas con explicación, y estaban bien. Las empanadas de cerdo eran de muy mala calidad, te puedes imaginar el tipo. Comí algunos y pesqué el resto. Tenía hambre, así que me comí los brotes de soja y los fideos en la salsa + además de cualquier baba que habían aportado las albóndigas.Entonces, ¿qué volví a aprender? Solo porque hace unos años en un área con competencia, una cadena puede producir alimentos decentes no se sostiene donde está solo. No me cobraron, aunque estaba feliz de pagar para volver a aprender las lecciones y no fue mucho dinero. Normalmente evito tales lugares, y es bueno tener la lección reforzada. Creo que es justo decir que proviene de Pho desde sus raíces.Espero que sea un juego de palabras cruzado, pero mi ignorancia del vietnamita es bastante total, con excepciones limitadas. Me atendré al nexo de Clerkenwell y sus ramificaciones locales en el futuro.

Fui con mi esposa y lo primero que notamos cuando entré fue el olor. Realmente despertó nuestros dos apetitos. El servicio fue muy amable y explicaron el menú excelentemente. Tuve el combo Pho bo que me calentó en esta noche fría. El sabor nunca salió de mi boca, si no estuviéramos tan llenos, ambos acordamos que habríamos tenido otra comida después. Totalmente inesperado la factura barata para una comida de tan buena calidad!

Hemos estado muchas veces, y desde nuestra visita a la calle 1, nos impresionó la calidad del servicio y la comida. El personal es realmente amable y amigable. Da mucha atención a los clientes, explica todos los platos con detalles, acomoda gustos, especias, alergias, nada es difícil para ellos. El personal siempre saluda al cliente con una gran sonrisa. Y haz lo mismo cuando te vayas. Comidas muy relajadas, no te apresuran ni te molestan cada 5 minutos. Muy recomendable después de comprar para el almuerzo a media tarde. Ojalá lo hagamos con mis hijos una vez al mes.

Wow, just Wow! What a find, never tasted food like it, every mouthful was a delight. The three meat feast sticky rice was a meal out of this world. I plan going back, many times.

We enjoyed a Monday evening dinner with our daughter who is at the University. We were served quickly and efficiently, the waitress was able to identify the meals with fish and seafood which one of us is allergic to. The meal was very similar to Wagamama but I would definitely return.

A lovely place to grab a quick lunch if you like Vietnamese food! The staff are attentive and explain the menu, deals and specials options that are available. They're more than willing to make recommendations and also give advice on how best to customize your dish to your liking. I went for lunch and got a lunch deal of a starter and main for £10.50. I had pork spring rolls followed by spicy chicken pho and it was delicious; just the right level of heat (although there was still the option to up the ante with some chopped chillies and sweet chilli sauce, if desired). I hadn't had vietnamese coffee since I was in Vietnam but had completely forgotten how much I love it; I can highly recommend! So glad that there is a Pho restaurant back in my home town too!

We visited Pho and the main meals were good, with standard main meal price but even though we had some issues with the desserts, the customer service was really brilliant and the issues were all solved in the end. Would recommend a visit :)

We all loved it! The food was delicious and vegan friendly, the service was fantastic, it’s a great location- the only minor niggle we had was it was on the cold side where we were sat but that absolutely won’t stop us coming back soon!!

I had a busy day shopping and was served by a wonderful team at Pho restaurant, I was so tired that I was seated immediately and was able to be served with efficiency and kindness. I was able to select a starter and a main course with ease and was guided through my allergies by the waitress at the time. I was very impressed with her speed, knowledge and experience of allergy and she eluded to a vegan menu and an allergy reference guide. I informed her that I had not formally been tested but I would like to avoid sea food if possible. The quality of the meal was excellent and well presented, I can see that a lot of thought went into it and the presentation of the starters and the mains was impressive. All in all, a pho-tastic experience.

Nice enough food, if you don’t like big bowls of soup type food then the menu is somewhat limited. Starters were great. Staff are friendly & helpful. The staff and the general ambience were very good; However the baby squid starter could only be described as a load of tiny fragments of whatever (?) Battered and deep fried with a rather inadequate dip made with half a lime dribbled onto some strange white powder (I'm hoping wasn't monosodium glutamate) it was ok; But the dip only lasted halfway through the squid bits. I had the king prawn broth for the main and for 12 pounds I expected more than 5 prawns in a rather large bowl of glorified in pot noodles served with a side plate of uncut herbs that when added to the broth made the main very difficult to eat with the provided spoon and chopsticks. Eventually half way through the main I asked for a fork which made things easier; But the food was cold. The flavours were good; But could have rustled up the main at home for less than 3 pounds

Ate at Pho with a colleague for an early dinner. The service was speedy and the service good. We chose Spring Rolls to start and curry for main course, both of which were excellent.

What an absolute delight it was to eat here, the vietnamese pancakes where a real treat and great fun to share, the pho itself was tasty and plenty of it, Banana fritter with coconut ice cream was pretty damn good too. But I loved the coffee with condensed milk, as this was a first for me I can say what a truly tasty beverage. But to top it all of the staff are friendly passionate about their work . Waited 20 minutes to be offered a drink, took a further 10 minutes to be told they didn't have a certain spirit, ended up leaving to curt apologies. Explaining there was a long wait or an attempt to make amends would have been appriciated.

We had a lunch stop yesterday at Pho. We were sat quickly but the staff member who sat us didn’t bring any menus. What seemed to be the manager sitting close saw this after a while and quickly bought them over and explained the menu to us. We waited a while to have our orders taken and again the manager took it from us. We went for the lunch special. The starters came out quick and were very nice. The mains followed and were tasty! I had the chicken curry and my fiancé the fried rice. The staff were very nice but the one that sat us kept aimlessly wondering around then pulling his phone out before heading out back. The new girl who gave us the bill and took our payment was very prompt and bubbly. Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed the food.

Four of us arrived for lunch. Most welcoming server let us select our table and await our companions. We ordered from the menu and each enjoyed a separate dish - I had noodles, broth, and veggies and chicken. Filling and delicious.
