Moments Cafe in Plymouth

Walked past this cafe many times before. Wish I came in sooner. Such and welcoming cafe. With good food, drink & company.

Love the concept of Moments set up to help people with dementia. Great to have the opportunity to subsidize a Pay It Forward meal. Breakfast was tasty and good value. Service is friendly and timely.

We have been hiring the rooms in Moments which are situated on the top floor above the caffe. The training rooms are wonderful big spaces which can accommodate big groups. They come with a huge screen for presenting presentations. The delegates have tea and coffee provided, along with biscuits. The staff are incredibly helpful and are always on stand by for any help with logging onto the WiFi or setting up the screen. It’s also wonderful that the money goes to a charity. Booking is really easy too. I really recommend these rooms for training and session work . The rooms are very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. There is also a lift. Really nice spaces to hire with wonderful helpful staff. Thank you !

Absolutely love coming here. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming, prices are reasonable and there's WiFi and heating. I often come here for work meetings for a casual chat and cuppa and also come here for a cheeky lunch break. There are rooms upstairs you can easily book with or without refreshments. Recommend this place to anyone

This is a fantastic establishment, for a great cause. All the staff were incredibly kind and professional. I had the pleasure of using their training room facilities upstairs. The room was light and we had access to good equipment which created a good learning environment. We were constantly provided with fresh coffee and hot water and biscuits which was a lovely touch. The facilities were clean and we only had to head downstairs for a lovely reasonably priced lunch. I would definitely recommend and whenever i am back in Plymouth i will be requesting this venue.

I've been coming here for several years because I like the atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, today the soup was cold, glutinous and unpalatable. It was listed as being served with a roll, but arrived with a slice of bread! Disappointing.

Positives: friendly staff, good location, nice hot drinks, vegan brownies were nice, comparable prices, interesting décor, highchairs with an attached tray. Negatives: not much choice for cakes, strap on baby changing table broken, floor in main area could be cleaner.

Is a beautiful cafe, very well thought of with the decor. Very friendly service. The get together with the group was a relief as I was at a dead end with where to get any help as a carer of a relative with Dementia. They were Fantastic and so helpful with Advice, Information and Emotional Support . They are life savers. Will recommend anyone to have coffee ☕️ and more there 😀

The cafe is a great place to stop by for people of any age in a comfortable and slightly themed setting. It is a place where you won’t feel rushed and the menu has something for everyone. We had a vegan breakfast and a tuna toasted sandwich which were both well cooked. However the favourite was the carrot cake. Service good and staff helpful.

I have visited Moments Cafe on several different occasions and all have been highly positive experiences. The members of staff who work here are one of the loveliest groups of people you could meet, and the overall atmosphere of the cafe is very warm and welcoming. As well as the staff and atmosphere, the food and drinks are definitely worth every penny (not to mention that all profits made go towards a great cause). I highly recommend this cafe to anyone who's looking to go out for lunch with friends or family. I know I will most certainly be coming back in the near future.

Visited Moments Cafe this morning with my elderly mother. At the counter I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile ($1million) from Emma (manager) who took my order and informed me that our food would be brought to our table.. My friend and I visited Moments for the first time and it will be the first of many future visits we were so impressed with how nice it was everywhere there are things from years gone by to trigger memories of nostalgia and the staff are lovely. There is a good menu at reasonable prices and we were made to feel very welcome plus it just had a nice atmosphere around it and the coffee was good It is a safe environment for anyone on their own and well worth a visit

As a vegan there is a good if limited choice.The food is always served with a smile,sometimes without cutlery but always with a smile.If I'm eating in the city centre this is the cafe I use.

We came in for coffee and tea and purchased cream teas that were very tasty.Of course being Cornish I put my jam first and cream on top but my husband born and bred in Plymouth Devon had his cream on his scone first and then the jam on the top.The coffee was excellent and the pot of tea was too.The cafe is a special place where people with dementia can rest, read and listen to music from the old days and the atmosphere is very soothing.There were many older people like us in the cafe and all the facilities were very good, the staff were very friendly and everything was very clean and comfortable.The menu was varied and was full of items aimed at items that pensioners and people on tight budgets could afford.We were so comfortable that we found it hard to leave.

Bueno, ciertamente es más que eso.Amplio y muy acogedor, el equipo aquí es realmente amable, fue un placer charlar con ellos. Tienen esta idea fantástica donde puedes comprar comida / bebidas para las personas sin hogar, ¡qué idea tan fabulosa! Y visitando su sitio web, todos los beneficios van a las personas y sus familias con demencia, ¡otra idea fabulosa!Solo tomé un té de menta, pero la comida que otras personas tenían muy buena pinta, y sin duda volveré a comer algo cuando esté en Plymouth.Todo el espíritu de este café es fantástico y sin duda voy a correr la voz sobre este increíble lugar. Moments Cafe has just been voted - by the readers of the Local Paper - as the Number One Coffee Shop in Plymouth, so we thought we would have Breakfast to see for ourselves. Moments doubles up as a Dementia Hub with help for those unfortunate enough to suffer from this condition. Well decorated in the 50s, 60s & 70s Style to assist those who perhaps suffer, you can see that those who use Moments regularly and those who have experience of Dementia would greatly appreciate this facility. As for the Coffee and Breakfast...........Good Selection and freshly prepared food with good selection of Coffees & Drinks to satisfy most requirements..........oh and the Moments Breakfast was very good.

Me and my Mam visit this cafe on a regular basis and I’ve got to say it’s the best cafe we have been in, very spacious, the staff are fantastic, nothing is ever to much trouble, very efficient, very friendly, I would recommend this cafe to everyone, we enjoy going in there and we are always made to feel welcome.

I went into moments café to grab a coffee while in town. It was my first time there and I was surprised at how spacious it was. The staff were friendly and while I was drinking I noticed a lot of nice food coming out, so I decided to stay for a bite to eat. I ordered an omelette and it came out in good time and well presented. I will go in for food again, and would recommend others to do so too.

Visited moments cafe this morning for a breakfast. Very disappointed! It wasn't busy (2 customers sat in when I walked in and 2 more came in after I had placed my order and I was the only one who wanted something cooked). The food was lukewarm,the sausage looked and tasted cheap and reheated,bacon mushrooms tomato were anaemic just about cooked, I asked for scrambled eggs and got fried and the wholemeal toast very dry. On the plus side the staff were pleasant and the cafe was clean and beautifully laid out. I don't think I will go back as not quality.

Lovely, warm, clean, honest cafe. Full of integrity and positivity. The ethos of support for dementia suffers underpins the Intention. The seating ‘zones’ offer nostalgia to any age, with interesting talking points ‘Battleship’ game indeed provoked a gender discussion!

Popped in to try their breakfast and was not disappointed. I enjoyed their coffee so much had to have a second and would have had a third but got the "evils" from "She who must be obeyed" who wanted to go shopping! How wandering in and out of shops without buying anything at all, constitutes Shopping I will never know. Anyways back to Moments, I found the staff to be very cheerful, friendly and polite, which means a lot to us "oldies". The food is basic but very tasty and great value for money, you have to remember, if you can, that Moments is a Café not a Restaurant. The 60's and 70's etc theme is a good idea and brought back many memories for both of us. Will certainly be returning when in Town again.

This place is a god-send, lovely food, a great cause, a selection of charmingly old-school toys,and the kind of staff who will come to your rescue by hopping down on the floor to play with your (very unhappy) teething toddler until they get a smile out of them.

The interior of this large cafe is spacious and has a warm feel to it. On the walls has replica 60s memorabilia for an added touch. But that's it. I repeatedly asked for bacon well done, along with sausage, beans and toast. The bacon was half done and cold. And thats after I specifically asked, three times to have it well done.

I was forced out of this place and had to abandon my meal and drink and desert. A man started to shove me out of my seat as I ate and drank, stood over me, walked around my table, kept shoving me, turned and used his backside to shove me out of my seat, leant over and onto my meal, and forced me to abandon everything. The staff stood and watched, said nothing, and did nothing to help support me. I was furious. I wasted just under ten pounds. I had to leave my meal and drinks on the table. It is not safe to go there because people with memory problems are not accompanied or controlled and the staff do not help. I am still absolutely livid that I wasted my money and was ignored so. DO NOT GO THERE! A lady manager came right up to my table but did not say a word. Not a single word! You can expect to be forced out at any moments notice without a word of help. DANGEROUS!!

This is a great place to pop into for a quick snack and a coffee. The service is second to none. The staff are very helpful and friendly and from my point of view a lover of good coffee this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed. However do remember this is a place for a snack and as such the food is basic, very good but basic. You will be made very welcome and if you are slightly older, the decor will bring back some memories. with each area set in a different period of the 20th century. Great atmosphere good food and great service.

I was meeting my friends for a bit of lunch. They were runnning a bit late so I when to order drinks for us, while in the queue you can see in to the kitchen, were I could see the tall chef in white, rubbing his nose on the sleeve of his jacket and sneezing and not washing his hands . This is against so many health and safety requirements that I chose to leave and meet my friends somewhere else. We love this little cafe as it help so many people, but if your Ill you must not work in a kitchen!

My self and my family love going for a bite to eat or a quick cuppa here. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The cafe is well thought out. The layout of the tables mean that it is open and easy to get wheelchairs and buggies around. The facilities are really good. They have a good food menu and a wide range of hot drinks. They also have a play area for the younger customers and board games for the older customers as well as well thought out decorations to really bring the recent past to life for customers I love looking at everything. Myself and my mum don't go anywhere else when we fancy a cuppa as my mum is not good with crowds and this cafe is perfect

This is a great city centre cafe. The staff are super friendly and always happy to help. The idea of the different eras within the venue is fab. My favourite is upstairs in the 80's!

This was my second visit the food service atmosphere are excellent and the purpose of the the cafe to be a place for those with mental issues is beyond reproach and a credit to moments cafe however it was let down by a member of staff who rather abruptly asked myself and friend to leave because my young labrardor let out an occasional bark when we were eating has dogs often do we were told also that as this was a cafe for people with mental issues as the reason if we had been told to try to keep the dog from letting out her occasional bark with a thank you or please I would not be taking issue also what I find slightly perplexing is it is a well know fact that people with dementia and other similar problems get much comfort and benefit from animals or so than from humans so in my opinion your excellent cafe was let down by this extremely officious member of staff if my dog was constantly yapping I could understand then if I had a dog that was in the habit of doing just that I would not bring it in again excellent in all respects though I now feel reluctant to use again with or without my dog

My friend have been coming to Moments for the last couple of months now, we really love it here, the food is really excellent and all at great prices,we always go for a pot of tea for two which is a great price at £2.80. Love the retro look and the staff are very friendly. The cafe was set up for people with all types of mental issues and and other members of the public. If you own a dog and its lets out a woof you may well be made to feel you have to leave half way through your coffee and sandwich and take it out into the road to consume it

Came here for coffee with 2 grandchildren. Friendly service with a good selection of healthy food and drink.Lots of space between the tables and interesting decor to stimulate discussion for all ages.

This is a great place to come to get away from the busy city centre hustle and bustle. Choice of music that suits all tastes. If you know someone with dementia then this is the place to bring them. Staff are very friendly and cheerful and the food is good value.

Went in for a doorstop bacon sandwich and latte earlier - sandwich and coffee were good, cafe set up really well - and the music mix this morning was brilliant - thoroughly enjoyed it. Regularly in Plymouth for many years, but never been here before. Will definitely be going again!

Started to use this cafe more frequently as it offers good value for money. Not so noise as many other cafés and coffee shops in the centre of town. Plenty of seating and not sat on top of each other. The theme is retro with areas designed for the 60's, 70's, 80's etc. Good and varied food menu with pleasant service from all the staff.

What a fabulous Memory Cafe everything so well thought out , the wonderful Memorabilia , the decoration of the cafe taking you back to past times , great place to go for a coffee, lunch or just to pop in and have a mosey around. The good was excellent, good homemade food freshly cooked with local produce . Would definitely recommend a visit and will definitely go back again .

I visited this cafe for the first... and second, time today! The first time I went in for tea and a toasted teacake, with my daughter and baby granddaughter. We were pleasantly surprised by how light and spacious the cafe is, and overwhelmed by the friendliness and level of service from the staff. I had arranged to meet a friend later for lunch at a chain cafe in the town centre, but after my pleasant experience earlier I suggested we go here instead. Again the staff were pleasant, food and service were first class, and although as we were having a catch up we stayed rather a long while, we did not feel pressured to leave.

The interior design is what attracted us inside, it is beautifully spacious and some great retro furniture and decor. The staff were very helpful and polite, with the food being of excellent quality and fast service. The boys loved the milkshakes made with ice cream.

I had heard of this cafe as I am involved in an organisation which helps support those affected by dementia. It is a lovely, bright, clean and welcoming environment and serves a good range of lunches and snacks. I went with a friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the food was great and very good value.

Tempted in, not just by the Dementia connection and mission but also because this is a pleasant open welcoming space, thoughtfully laid out and offering a very good selection of well presented and fairly priced tasty food. We have long standing Alzheimer's within our close family. The society based at Milehouse is very supportive and offer practical and constructive support but Moments Cafe is a very useful parallel service. We have yet to discuss whether our own need may be too advanced for what is so skilfully and thoughtfully put together here but we are reviewing the position. Meanwhile we would wholeheartedly recommend the cafe and all else that goes on to all those touched by dementia in its various forms. Aside from that you might also just want to use the cafe, which welcomes all, take a rest from shopping or work, knowing that the profits go not into the coffers of some international coffee chain but instead go to support work with dementia and its consequences.

Établissement tout neuf, très aéré au design rétro (des années 1950 aux années 1980). Ouvert de 9h00 à 18h00, on peut y manger son petit déjeuner jusqu'à son diner (pour ceux qui mangent tôt le soir, à l'anglaise). Tout est "homemade". Avons testé en plus du thé classique, d'excellents brownies et des limonades originales produites en Angleterre. Le tout est d'un rapport qualité/prix défiant toute concurrence. On ne vous presse pas, c'est calme, la musique colle avec le style. Wifi présente. Café intergénérationnel. Les bénéfices de celui-ci sont versés à une organisation œuvrant pour les personnes souffrant de troubles neurocognitifs et leurs aidants. Une belle découverte ! On y retournera lors de notre prochain séjour en famille dans quelques mois.
